Will there be a hint of Plan B angst in there? It seems RGR and SWHC shareholders are not too worried about what the President will say... yet...

If they actually went for confiscation he has to find someone willing to do it.  I don't think my local Sheriff would touch this considering he denied a state law loophole to release the names of concealed carry permit holders and kept them confidential.

Your local SWAT boys are going to think twice before getting peperred with M855 that can go through a lot of the rifle plates out there like butter, if he can find any LEO who would perform the unconstitutional act.

IMO people making 900,000 ARE middle class, it DEPENDS WHERE YOU LIVE.

Tax Rates should be regional based on Income.

Yes - if you live in Presidio Heights, have to pay for your kids' prep school and tuition at Stanford, keep your grounds neat and tidy, and pay for your maid service, there's barely enough left for the upkeep on your BMW M6 and your wife's Range Rover.

Im thinking more or less in terms of people should get a break on their first million earned.

Say you made 50 ~ 80,000 a year for the past 10 years, and this year you finaly caught a break and made 1.2 Million on investmetns that worked out very well.... be it realestat or something else....

Its a one - time deal, your going to go back to making 80~90,000 a year the next year.

Why should you pay 50% taxes on your 1.2?

If you dont pay higher taxes,

1) You wont need financial Aid to send your kids to a good school (schools are expensive in most city areas and the financial aid requirements are usually very strict.

2) What if you have a lot of debts to pay off say a mortgage?

The govt would consume 500,000$ of your income , force you into poverty (because the m oney will be gone within 2 years for a family of 5 ~ 6) where 2 or more children are in college and the others are in grade school.

The real poverty level right now is somehwere between 30~ 50,000 a year DEPENDING WHERE YOU LIVE.

We have no exchange rates between states because we all share a single currency (same problem with euro zone); so someplaces in the USA 500,000$ can last you a life-time, and in other places it wont last you a year, but tax rates don't care where you live they will rob you just the same.

Factor in inflation pushing people into higher tax rates than they belong and in the future (where inflation will be higher) it causes chaos and mass poverty.

Just because someone is well-off for 1 year in their life, doesn't make them a millionare to be pillaged.

The media only wants tragedy and they have trotted out every single bullshit gun control argument that ever existed as welll as all the flawed statistics.  It all seems so desperate.  The same stupid arguments for gun control were debunked in the 1970s!  It never worked, it never will work.

The most annoying argument ever is the one about how when the 2nd Amendment was written, only flintlocks were available and nobody back then could have ever imagine John Browning or Eugene Stoner.  To that I say, when the 1st  Amendment was written, we didn't have laser printers or speedy Internet communications, either, and yet, nobody complains that freedom of speech encompasses those media and technologies.  Believe it--there were plenty of awful ways to kill people in the 1790s, nothing fundamental about human nature is any different now than it was back then.

Halfway To Hell (And High Water): 333rd Month In A Row Global Temperatures Exceed Long-Term Average

Okay, NOAA’s State of the Climate Report for November isn’t the Mayan meteorological forecast. And the Apocalypse isn’t quite “now.” But this part of the NOAA report is kind of ominous:

Including this November, the 10 warmest Novembers have occurred in the past 12 years. The 10 coolest Novembers on record all occurred prior to 1920. November 2012 also marks the 36th consecutive November and 333rd consecutive month with global temperature higher than the long-term average. The last month with a below average temperature was February 1985, nearly 28 years ago.

As Grist noted last month, “If you’re 27 or younger, you’ve never experienced a colder-than-average month.” In Minnesota’s fictional Lake Wobegon, “all the children are above average.” But with warming, it’s more like Wobegun, because it’s only going to get hotter and hotter — at an accelerating pace if we don’t reverse carbon pollution trends ASAP...

As Grist dryly noted (and noting things dryly is how Grist made its bones):

August 2040 will (possibly) be the 666th straight month with higher-than-average global temperatures (somewhat undermining the concept of average). The map for that month will likely be a pure splotch of red, as Earth will have been consumed by hellfire. Please prepare appropriately.

So we are halfway to Hell (and High Water). Can’t say we weren’t warned.

But James Lovelock, whom you called the closest thing to a white wizard of the modern age says that warming has plateaued and that he and other AGW proponents have been alarmists. Why do you ignore the man for whom you have expressed such high regard?

'I made a mistake': Gaia theory scientist James Lovelock admits he was 'alarmist' about the impact of climate change
  • British scientist admits he had 'extrapolated too far' in earlier book
  • Claims other environmental commentators such as Al Gore did the same

Five years ago, he had claimed: 'Before this century is over billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic where the climate remains tolerable.'

But in an interview with msnbc.com,  he admitted: 'I made a mistake.'

He said: 'The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing,' he told   'We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear cut, but it hasn’t happened.

'The climate is doing its usual tricks. There’s nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world.

'[The temperature] has stayed almost constant, whereas it should have been rising - carbon dioxide is rising, no question about that.'

drones dropping bombs on funerals, multi- family houses and backyard BBQ's? that's fine, totally reasonable nobel prize winning behavior.

militant police with APC's, IFV's and all other manor of military equipment, DHS buying 1 billion rounds of ammo, listening and watching everything that is said and done on every street corner, on every bus, at every train station and airport? no problem here, why, these are the very hallmarks of a free society.

but serfs carrying around semi auto 30 round mag assault rifles? what could they possibly need such WMD's for? especially when everything that has been done, has been done to increase the safety and security of the homeland.

And now they want the guns.

This is the puppet pair that is arming the Israeli military to kill Palestinians who thirst for freedom.

This is the puppet pair that is using American tax money to keep Palestinians in fenced concentration camps and from being able to own a business or acquire private property.

This is the puppet pair that funds Spot and Shoot whereby women serving in the Israeli army sit in front of TV monitors from which they can control the action with a PlayStation-style joystick and kill Palestinians by firing remote-controlled machine guns mounted on watch-towers every few hundred meters along the electronic fence that surrounds Gaza.

It is the Obama puppet who “condemned the Palestinian drive for statehood at the United Nations," who just awarded Israel $3 billion in military assistance, an all-time high.

It is the Biden puppet who bragged of America’s collaboration with the Israelis: ”We’ve provided record levels of security assistance, funding for the Iron Dome missile defense system that intercepted nearly 80 percent of the rockets recently fired from Gaza, close collaboration on longer range missile defense systems, the largest joint military exercises in history, the most consistent and comprehensive exchanges ever between our top political, defense, security and intelligence officials.”

The puppet pair's unwavering and excessive material and diplomatic support for Israel ends up aiding and justifying all kinds of crimes against the Palestinian people and freedom.

And now the puppet pair wants gun control in America? Why?

Well, he can try, but do you really think the Red States will turn over their guns to Obama? Uh, no way in hell. Do you know what tyrants are most afraid of? That they will pass a law and people will simply ignore it. A tyrant's control is based on people going along with what he dictates. But it's all a bluff, and when the people call his bluff his control is revealed to be a fantasy. That's what will happen with any gun ban.

To any of you neo-marxist knee-jerk reaction liberals:

Logic escapes all of you. The power of feelings and emotion rule your days in times such as these. Any serious critical anylitical thought is seen to be too tedious for you to engage. You live for moments such as these. You pretentious emotive driven fools! You will exploit any tragedy, no matter how horrific, to furthur your politically  mindless liberal agenda(s).

Yes indeed republicans. Pat Buchanan was and still is right!. The neo-conservatives, who have been anxiously waiting in the wings to exploite a horrific tragedy to further there agenda(s), were aloud by the useful idiot republican fools party to come out of the shadows to further their own treasonous cause(s). But you liberals. You are a shameless imbecilic breed, such as the likes of which has not been seen for thousands of years! You have been out in the open for decades fooling the useful idiots of the American population to further your not only treasonous, but ultimately and actually evil agenda(s). You are ultimately the biggest useful idiots of all. You use the idiot clueless american people to play your political game, but you do not see that you are the tools being used by a much sinister force in a universal battle!
