One Simple Question You Need To Ask Yourself

Tyler Durden's picture

Via Simon Black of Sovereign Man blog,

Everyone has a catalyst. A breaking point where we finally say, “enough is enough” and finally begin to take action.

Maybe it’s watching your beautiful daughter be sexually assaulted by government agents for having committed the crime of flying to Disney World. Or having some government agency tell you what you can/cannot put in your body. Or having your son’s lemonade stand shut down. Or being sentenced to jail for collecting rainwater.

Many of us, though, are indoctrinated from birth to believe that our country is the best, highest pinnacle of civilization. So we’re programmed to hang on to the bitter end. Instead of taking action at the first sign of danger, we’ll wait… and wait… and wait… until we finally reach our breaking points.

This is unusual for a living species. Animals in the wild have a honed sense of danger. They survive because they listen to their instincts and take immediate action.

We humans, on the other hand, have decades of propaganda clouding our judgment. It’s been this way for most of history, in fact. In the past, we allowed ourselves to be enslaved to single individuals– kings, emperors. Now we’re enslaved by an idea.

This idea suggests that, simply because we happened to be born on a specific piece of dirt, that we can be saddled with obligations we never signed up for… to pay taxes, serve in the military, spend our entire working lives paying down the debts of previous generations, use a corrupt money system controlled by a tiny elite, etc.

The propaganda is so effective that people truly believe these are all the ‘costs of living in a free society…’ As if the society is actually free.

Yes, the West is replete with superficial conveniences– Starbucks-a-plenty, big box retail shops, TGI Fridays, sit-coms, and cookie-cutter subdivisions. But this all seems a pithy yardstick to measure freedom or quality of life.

In addition, the propaganda is so effective that people even ask for their freedoms to be taken away, all so that the ruling elite has more control.

“Please bathe us in radiation to protect us from men in caves…”

“Please conjure infinite money out of thin air to protect us from bank failure…”

And now it seems to be “Please disarm the population to protect us from crazed killers…”

Each time this happens, national dialogue comes to a screeching halt. There is no debate over policy, and any dissent is branded as unpatriotic and disloyal.

History is full of examples of this, starting as far back as the death sentence of Socrates for rejecting the state religion, criticizing Athenian political leaders, and questioning the validity of Democracy.

When a society loses its capacity for intelligent discourse focused on facts and minority-held views… when a people loses the will to question authority… it signals a hastened decline into tyranny.

This is prevalent everywhere in the west today. Topics such as climate change, September 11th, ‘taxing the rich’, gun control, etc. are so sacrosanct that the mere mention of a dissenting opinion is ridiculed.

I understand that a man went on television recently, for example, to argue for freedom and the right to bear arms. He was lambasted on live TV as an ‘unbelievably stupid man’ who doesn’t ‘give a damn about the murder rate’.

It seems quite obvious now. There can be no discussion. And at some point, a reasonable human being has to reflect on the society that has developed around him and wonder, “Do I have anything in common with these people anymore…? Do we share any core values? Or do we simply share the same passport cover?”

It’s certainly a question worth asking... ideally before you reach your breaking point.

In this piece, Simon Black is really objecting to views put forth by the old media and the political class vs. logical norms.

Perhaps it is time to throw out old media and the political class.

The lie is being exposed and awareness is increasing exponentially.  The shadow government knows this and is scrambling to counter using authoritarian means including rapid destruction of rights and freedom.  They will soon try to censor the ultimate source of resistance, but it is already too late.  Multiple generations are aware and rightly pissed off.  The future will be interesting indeed.

It all boils down to morals and which culture they originated in.

The hunter-gatherer liberals want their tribal-union-brotherhood, grazing off the environment, property rights for the collective lifestyle.

The pharaonic conservatives want their omnipotent hierarchical authoritarian state, crony faux-capitalism, property rights crumbs for the masses lifestyle.

The freedom culture individualists want their own control of their lives, free-market capitalism, very strong property rights lifestyle.

The morality of each of these cultures dictates that their way is the best way to survive and prosper.

The  20th century and the USSR showed the first to be an abject failure. The early 21st century and the USA is showing the second to also be a failure.

That leaves the third as the only one standing. Pretty much as how America was founded - by individualists.

Nice illustration - Thank you

So the trick is for each group to do as they want without forcing the other two. Hunter-gatherers wll not be comfortable with Individualists freedom, but they should be able to let them be free.

The dishonest payment system is the root dynamic that forces increasingly worsening choices on people, destroying freedom in a nearly invisible manner.

Truth => Individual => Responsibility = Freedom

Everything good in life requires free will

Merry Christmas

They promised me the world that's what I got
'Cause Texas is a world all of its own
It takes a lifetime to drive from Eastland to Van Horn
He said didn't you hear my siren whine
I been chasing you since the Jim Hogg County line
I was thinking real hard about tenderin' my notice
But the bills came in and piled up to my chin
Paul called and said we're on our way to Rhome
This tour's gonna save your happy home
Now we're going to:
London, Liverpool, Italy, Paris, Egypt, Dublin, Frisco, Waco,
Athens, Gouldbusk, Troy, and Miami, Moody, Beaumont, Edinburgh, Lubbock
Pecos, Deadwood, Fife, del Rio,
Houston, Austin, all around Dallas

Also, within 100 miles of the boarder (including ocean) the border patrol can still pull you over and even detain you. http://radicalruss.com/the-russ-belville-show-103-beware-the-border-patrol/

Believe it or not the feds didnt want to deal with me. The hudspeth county sheriff wanted me. He wanted the tow and impound fee for my car and they wanted the fine i paid at my court date. Twice a month a traveling judge shows up and approx 60 people line up and plead guilty to misdemeaner possession and they drop the felony. They fine you anywhere from $1000-$1500 and send you on your way. Courtroom is full of people from Cali so sheriff doesnt want to deal with feeding them for 2 months. Way i figure it that county would be broke if they shutdown that checkpoint. Judge laughed when the prosecutor read "he had a small amt of maryjane and a boatload of cookies and butter". Lucky for me they couldnt weigh the cookies in my belly!

Not bitching about Texas. Born and raised there, left for awhile and now I'm back and will never leave. Most important piece of paper i own is my Texas birth certificate.

Divorce is the answer.

When two people or two groups (or 5 groups) of people that live in close proximity to each other no longer share common values, common heritage, common language etc then it is only a matter of time before one party decides the other party should no longer occupy "their" space and the killing begins.

So, before the killing begins, we should divorce ourselves from the people the social contract (we never signed) says we are obligated and/or responsible for.

Life is too short to spend it with people you dont like.

I have this new idea for a form of government.  Its called "Representative Republic" (patent pending).  In this new fangled system of government, small nations (lets call them "states") would be responsible for the citizens within their geographical boundries.  They could even have their own currencies, own laws, own forms of government.  Those states could work together cooperatively for the common defense of each other (safety in numbers) against threats foriegn and domestic.  These states would then be united in a common cause (self defense, commerce etc).  But the real power would be left to the individual states.

I know, its totally crazy, but under the right circumstances, it. just. might. work.

But wait, I dont want a divorce. I dont wan them to take half my shit. They did not build that. I dont want to divide the country and make us easier to attack. I dont want them messing up their area and then coming to mess up mine.

My preference is settling this the only way two deeply divided idelogies can. The useless eaters can choose to join productive society and contribute...or not. They have a choice. As do I. My choice is not to service them anymore.

And then there will be peace.

I hear that argument and it does give some hope. However, pondering the 'Optimism Bias' that Karl Bass discussed yesterday I am not convinced.  For example, how would a Ruby Ridge play out now?  Would those making a stand be left to be slautered by whichever agency was tasked with the mission? Or would others say enough?

Waiting until system collapse and implementing martial law is too little too late for TPTB.  Iraq is the best example of that lesson learnt and we all know how that played out.

They are already there. There are tons of Mormons in Idaho, Montana, and surrounding states. Mr. Comma, Rawles is a religious zealot, but nevertheless I think he appreciates people with values similar to his, even if they don't believe in his brand of christian extremism.

"While there is a doctrinal chasm that forever divides us, I greatly admire the dedication of the LDS church in encouraging food storage." - Comma Rawles. (http://www.survivalblog.com/cgi-bin/mt5/mt-search.cgi?search=mormon&IncludeBlogs=2&limit=20)

Actually Rawles is not a religious zealot. He doesn't apologize for his faith and welcomes you to embrace your own. He is more interested in his neighbors being moral and hardworking.

It can be debated if he is a religious zealot.  However, he says very clearly on his reboubt page that he is a religious separtist

am a separatist, but on religious lines, not racial ones.

He has also said

I can also forthrightly state that I have more in common with Orthodox Jews and Messianic Jews than I do with atheist Libertarians.

While he admires the year's supply and preparedness of the Mormons, I have not found a clear statement from Rawles that he thinks they are Christians and he accepts them as Christians. Many mainstream Christian individuals think that Mormons are a cult and are not Christians.

I know there are many Mormons in the Intermountain West. I lived in a town where only two families were not Mormons. Try that if you want to experience discrimination.

Still, the useful idiots will still end up in room 101. Perhaps after unseemly scrapping over their rationed monthly 'Cat Food' can at the FEMA Camp. They should have known how to appreciate such benevolence from the Leadership.

There is an alternative - make a stand. Of couse this is unlikely to end well for those that make this choice.  My question is will those that claim they will no longer tolerate their freedom being eroded any further make a stand? Or will they be willingly marched, like lemmings, to a facist, statist utopia.

Yes!  Makes me wonder how many lists I am on, lots for sure.  I wonder how they categorize us...  I travel by air somewhat often, and only once have I been "pitty-patted" by TSA, so maybe .gov ineptitude may work to our advantage sometimes.

And I no longer have to worry about getting Au out of the country, done that!

Anyone who wants to do the same (take gold out of the country) should remember that you can take out any amount, but if it is over $10,000 worth (bullion value NOT legal tender value) you must declare it on some BS Customs Form, plan an extra 30 minutes at the US international airport to do that as the Customs morons often do not even know that law (in my case they did not).  Get caught not declaring?  You do not want to go there...

I'm 98% sure I'm on the "other" TSA list (there's two, the no-fly, and the other, seldom discussed "selectee" list.) Last time I few commercial was '08, and I ended up with a TSA guy's hand between my butt cheeks, in public. I was done with the TSA at that point, now I drive, fly charter, or fly myself (which shows just how bullshit the TSA is, that you can get harrassed boarding a commercial flight but you can jump into a Cirrus with a rifle, fertilizer or whatever if you want.)

I think the best bet would be to convert to bitcoin in US, then convert to AU at your destination. No reporting involved, ever.

As it is, I think I'm "in" for the festivities when they hit, there doesn't seem to be too many countries with good options for freedom-lovers.

I meant that to keep company only with people who read ZH as a bit "isolationist".

this was the plan of the political left when the Js brought communism into the US during the industrial age.  Eventual replacement of all values, total change of the entire moral system, everything.  It's always been about total systemic revolution and transformation from top to bottom.

The left political class really kicked this in the backside with the open doors immigration policies...they abandoned the importation of those who might go 50/50 blue/red and went straight for those who could reliably elect THEM and only THEM over and over again, no matter how much they stole.  Look at cities like Detroilet or DC, as they INSISTED on corruption at the top, hey go to jail, get out, and we will elect you again!  That type of reliable bloc vote is on the blue team now.

And they encouraged population growth in their demographics and made more costly population growth in their opponents'.  The useful idiots helped them all the way.  Now the blue team revels in its counterculturalness...and it has made open its desire to get rid of all of the 'evil' things that plagued the history of the nation and fundamentally transform it into something "fairer"=more beneficial for them, regardless of merit.
