Ron Paul On The Fiscal Cliff: "We Have Passed The Point Of No Return"

Tyler Durden's picture

In a little under three minutes, Ron Paul explains to a somewhat nonplussed CNBC anchor just how ridiculous the charade that is occurring in D.C. actually is. This succinct spin-free clip should be required viewing for each and every asset-manager, talking-head, propagandist, and mom-and-pop who are viewing the last-minute idiocy of the 'fiscal cliff' debacle with some hope that things will be different this time. "We have passed the point of no return where we can actually get our house back in order," Paul begins, adding that "they pretend they are fighting up there, but they really aren't. They are arguing over power, spin, who looks good, who looks bad; all trying to preserve the system where they can spend what they want, take care of their friends and print money when they need it." With social safety nets available to rich and poor, there is no impetus for change and "the country loses," but Paul concludes, the markets are starting to say "there is a limit to this."

Looks like 48 people didn't actually read Millie Dollar-Boner's comment before giving her an enthusiastic thumbs -up:

"Spectacular stock returns"  Yeah, baby. We're almost back to where we were five years ago.

"record low interest rates"    This is supposed to be a GOOD thing? And even with 3.25% mortgages, who's buying a house?

"Global recovery has officially begun"    Really? Which global office did that come from? The EU office is closed for lack of funds. The Asian office is sinking fast. The U.S. office just posted a plunge in consumer confidence and five consecutive months of manufacturing contraction. Oh, yeah--it must have been the Egypt office.

"Strong housing recovery" LOL! I'll just quote the Bernank: "The Fed estimates three million homes in some stage of foreclosure, plus an additional million each year for the next several years." And I'll quote Robert Shiller "U.S. housing market is still very risky, may not rebound in our lifetimes."

"Retail investors"  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

What a CHUMP.

Actually, while I can appreciate the warm sentiment of the MDB-troll_algo fans thinking "ya, that was even funnier bullshit than last time!" I'm by principle never going to hit the green arrow. I think some others are for that reason.

I feel wrong about the image of ZH itself containing MDB-things which fool new readers.
I do have a dark side of course that relishes in the idea that stupid people deserve to suffer their own punishment, and suffer they shall if they actually followed what MDB writes as literal. Which some do. Even without reading what MDB writes, there are people who are actually that dumb.
Dunno.

Until I can reconcile with that darker side of my attitude I give red-arrows. I feel happy enough giving green arrows to those who compliment the sarcasm, applaud the nonsense, whatever.

Know what? Ancient econonaut scholars theorize... FUCKING LIBERTARIANS

Ron Paul hits the nail on the head when he relates to the "Drug Addict" looking for a fix.  I hate to say it but too much of America is now like a "Crack Whore" but addicted to freebies and entitlements rather than drugs.  Paul is also right when he says it is too late.  We have gone past some line in the sand...some "point of no return".  The only answer now is to let America hit rock bottom and rebuild herself with hard work.  Of course those that have learned to live gaming the system without hard work and without useful skills, are going to find this period in American history very, very difficult, as they did in the early 30's.  I certainly would not want to be a 20 something with a degree in political science or the arts and $50,000 in debt right about now.

A majority of the citizens already rely on the government as greater than 50% of the population receives some form of welfare

Obama can indefinitely detain US citizens without court order

The government can read and listen to your electronic communications without your knowledge whenever they want and without warrat

Every single thing you do on the internet is recorded at the Utah data center

In most cities there is a camera on every corner and in some cities there are microphones on public transportation

Obama has threatened to raise the debt ceiling via executive order usurping that power from the US Congress

The last time congress declared war was June 5th 1942.

Spy drones are being used on private citizens for surveillance purposes

We have a politicized central bank printing money for Obama sponsored welfare programs and war

The second amendment is under attack threatening our last bastion against a brutal and tyrannical government. Don't be surprised that the political establishment want to ban guns as the more rights they strip from the people, the larger the target becomes on their back. The 2nd amendment was put into the constitution to give us protection from government not from ourselves (see the Syrians getting mowed down with machine guns by the government as the citizens have only stones to throw back)

Obama is now in control of healthcare

We have crony capitalism, a euphemism for the more classical term, fascism.

uhm buddy, we already have a dictatorship, at the very least the color of something very familiar to.

Nice summation.

Very simple.  Either you follow one ideology or the other.  Either you believe in individuals making most of their own decisions and living with the consequences or you believe that a government should make decisions for you.   With more of the decisions being made for you, you lose freedom(money) your zest for life and success, becoming something you could become without obstructions, you no longer are able to donate from the heart your hard earned dollars to worthy (in your eyes) causes.

I remember growing up in the 70's.  In gradeschool, we were learning about types of governments.  I distinctly remember a chart with the types of governments listed.  Near the bottom were Dictatorships, Communism and Socialism.  These were the ones that invoked the feelings of less freedom and liberty even at that young age I understood.  That one memory sticks with me, that chart.  However, others around me have long since forgotten what they too learned.

The brainwashing has worked.  I really can't believe how this country as been flipped upside down and turned inside out...

I used to fear what my children were missing, now, I realize they never knew...what they will be missing.

I pretty much dismiss all these "planned collapse and takeover" theories. When has that ever worked in history? Can't think of one that didn't result in a massive change in government. No one is going to ask for Government "protection" after a collapse, the rioters will just burn everything down.

Right on Freddie.

When the stomach becomes peoples god, all hell will break loose. The starvation of americans is on the plate front and center after all commerce shuts down during a false flag event and martial law shut down. Remember how empty the skies were in the days after 9/11?

All as well planned of course. Have you ever really studied the words in this Protocols? Back in 95 we saw this and in the first parts it declares they will attain all their goals through terrorism. After seeing that way back then, it was obvious as to what was to come. The sad thing is, most of what was forecast in this document has come true and is in the process of coming true.

http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/przion1.htm

Here is more of the planning:

http://home.earthlink.net/~platter/neo-conservatism/pnac.html

All this was the first sign we got years ago that basically gave us the game plan for the new world oder of the money god and the coming cashless society. What we as a world has to go through to rid the planet of these cretins and gain back the rule of law and the value of tangible money to trade with, we have yet to experience. The good news is, many more people are awake to the beast and all it's tentacles throughout society. Using the Iceland's template, it will be easy and a short time to clean house when the time comes. Babylon will have to make the first real move against the people to start the game. Once it is on, well, it will be a short play. Maybe we can sell the public hangings of all the criminals involved in the subversive activities against the govt and people of the USA on pay per view?

The USA is going to collapse and split apart exactly the same way the Soviet Union did. TPTB think they can manage and control the collapse. They assume Homeland Security (America's Brown Shirts) will be able to control the population. What they don't realize is they have no way to keep those people "on the job". Why would anyone stick around when they are not getting paid with anything of value? The first thing they will do is loot Homeland Security of anything of value such as food and weapons leaving management with nothing but worries about someone taking revenge on them. The only military group that will stick around and take control is each States National Guard because they will be protecting their own State and not the Federal government. Texas will immediately declare it's independence and the Confederate States will follow within a few days as members of the League of the South executes it's plans. Other States will follow along joining Texas and/or the Confederate States for mutual defence. It will be ugly as it was in the Soviet Union at the end. Millions of people will starve or freeze to death if it happens in the winter months. China or Russia may invade the West Coast and take control of as much of the industrial and agricultural areas as it can defend. Don't expect the Federal Military to intercede. Those people will be busy trying to get home in any way they can to defend their family and the State the reside in because they are not getting paid.

Most military do not jibe with the gov for protracted wars and shitty pay. You are absolutely correct. You will see a fractious split with South and North going their own ways. If TPTB think that will happen they are sorely mistaken. I know who I got my money on.
