Piers Morgan Vs Alex Jones - The "Gun Fight" At The CNN Corral

Tyler Durden's picture

With the Notre Dame vs Alabama game a complete one-sided demolition, the night was in desperate need of some entertainment... until Piers Morgan and Alex Jones stepped in. While the headline topic was "guns", it was 13 minutes of unbridled spitting, stuttering, and screaming, which achieves nothing in converting anyone on the fence on either side of the "gun control" argument, but certainly helps with CNN's sagging Nielsen ratings, which after having become disinformation central following the Obamacare "rejection" and the NYSE floor "flooding", is now slowly but surely converting itself into the Jerry Springer show for Gen Y. If nothing else, this is far more fun than watching the all too controlled Notre Dame implosion.

Folks, I am one of you, and for our cause here.

BUT... if you deny that AJ hurt us tonight, you are simply denying reality.

Honestly and sincerely, it felt like 1970s wrestling, where there was a villain and the villain was clear.

AJ said some things with which I totally agree, but he killed us on his aggressive manner, and allowing Piers to alter the topic.

When that happened, the ENTIRE interview felt staged.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a chance to embrace Piers Morgan on these issues. Because I can topple him with facts, and be reasonable in the face of obvious disagreement.

Facts do not matter.  Do you really think they are ignorant of the facts?  They know them and do not care.  How would arguing those facts make a difference therefore?  There's no room for debate with people who believe you are and should be a slave.  We are not slaves, we are not subjects to a crown, and those people will never understand regardless of any amount of facts.

Class. I love the dig at Piers and the phone hacking scandal. Piers is such a worm.

Piers throwing out the 9-11 truther theory was just a sad attempt at discrediting Alex Jones, whom I feel does himself some discredit by being a bit too wild sometimes.

Being a British subject, I've always questioned the unfaltering passion of the 13 Colonies protecting their 2nd amendment rights. However, having recently had discussions with my Seppo girlfriends brother, an avid gun owner and hunter, hearing Alex Jones base arguments (being base, allows me to easily compute the argument with my muppet of a brain), and other discussions with both pro and anti gun people, seppos and Limeys, I now understand why an old and aged right is protected, and I support this.

Peace, Love, and mungbeans.

AJ is a dick.  PM is an asshole.  With that understanding, I provide this for your reading pleasure:

We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the Film Actors Guild are pussies. And Kim Jong Il is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

I do not like the style, but at least there are people out there trying to get attention to a lot of swept under the rug topics.

However after watching the circus, Alex had a chance of bringing Attention to the dangers and absurdity of gun bans/confiscation, and I think he blew it. Alex was preaching to the choir. With allowing questions from both sides, Alex could have intellectually and statistically blew him out of the water. He did not teach, he just went off.

This is part of a plan for sure, and I do see the msm bringing out only poor examples of those who believe in freedom and the Bill of Rights.

This is a real mess...

I posted what I did knowing I'd get red-arrowed (awesomely brave of me, yeah, I know) but the Jonez fanbois need to wake up - Alex's job is to be ridiculous and he did it well. Piers couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

The targets of this kind of theatre are the moderate, sensible people who have guns, carry guns, shoot, and generally defend the 2nd amendment.

The message to them is: we're banning guns and if you open your mouth you will be labeled a nut like Alex. A dangerous nut. So go along. For the kids. And because shut up.

They will run the table. In 4 years we'll be disarmed, and broke. And the current thugocracy will own everything and everyone.

Sorry but if you care more about some anonymous idiots' (e.g., anti-gun zealots) opinions of you than your right to bear arms ... you're not gonna keep your right to bear arms for very long.

This is a non-sequitur, an association fallacy, and an ad-hominem.

"we're banning guns and if you open your mouth you will be labeled a nut like Alex"

The reasonable response is, "Well, what of it then? The logical relation between the two has not been established, no attempt was even made to do so, there is nothing here but a lack of logical thinking ability. I'll keep my guns, thank you, now fuck off."

Your choice America. Same as ever.

No. It matters.

Already there are large swaths of civil society where you cannot disagree with the party line. It didn't used to be this way. Loudly voicing your opinion and slandering people who disagree with you as stupid and evil was considered rude. Not any more. Progressive zealots are the only ones who get an opinion and they are belligerent and obnoxious and everyone else can STFU. And they get away with it.

Your "reasonable response" is reasonable - but it's not what's happening. People are afraid. They know their job or their wives or kids lives will be made a living hell if they open their mouths and dissent. They know their business will be targeted or their clients harassed or their career ruined.

Yeah, everybody should be a righteous hero. If you are, that's awesome. But most people aren't, and many of them simply can't afford to have an opinion any more. They need to get along. CNN et al (and Facebook and Twitter) are setting the price to get along. This was the aim of this piece, and it's working.

You are absolutely right - and what you're saying here is very important lewy.  I am working on some of my friends who were swayed by Sandy Hook one on one.  And you don't swing them by being a raving lunatic.  You presuade them with reason and facts that defuse the emotion.

See the link I posted above Jesse Ventura vs Piers Morgan.  It is very well done and persuasive by Jesse.  And I got hit by the "Mad Arrow" immediately as well.  We need to do this the right way first and last.  Feeding the public's negative emotion ain't the way to do this.  And what Jones starts off with is absolutely the last thing we would ever want to see.

BC,

What did you think about the "style" the Founding Fathers and the other colonists used?  You do realize that in order to give birth to this nation they had to break a few things, hurt a few feelings and, ya know, KILL PEOPLE.

Life is a real mess.  Its brutal and violent.  There are people in this world that want to kill you and take what you have.  Its unpleasant.  It gives people frowny faces.

Soon, the thin veneer of "civil society" will be ripped away and youll see some very unpleasant "styles" of survival.  Good luck.

Agreed. This "debate" did two things. First it makes any sane second amendment supporter look bat shit nuts therefore distracting from the argument ,and secondly it put Alex on the entertainment circuit. I'm sure we will see more embarrassing exposure for him as TPTB use him as a tool to help sway wobbly knee people over to the gun control side of the argument. See people ... do you really want AR-15s in the hands of a guy like this? Alex played his roll well.

Unfortunately, Piers Morgan and the CNN crew set up Alex Jones completely.  All they had to do was give him the floor and sit back and watch him destroy his own credibility as a clear thinking advocate for the constitution. A total disappointment to say the least. I agree with others, judge Napalitano would have been a much better choice but there is no way Morgan would agree to that interview.

Yeah and the fact that most illegally owned guns (wrap your head around that and try to avoid having your lips and tongue come in contact with Thomas Hobbes' buttocks) are stolen from their rightful, legal owners surely indicates that should legal ownership go away, there is no possible way criminals will be able to get guns! Why, it's not as if, among other examples, hundreds of firearms criss-cross the US-Mexico (which has very strict gun-control laws) border every week!

And no, Australia, whose violent homicide rate plummeted after introduction of a general firearms ban, is not a mostly racially homogenous (or effectively segregated) island nation experiencing its most prosperous period in history.

---

All this is of course beside the point. Either Americans want to be able to legally own firearms or they don't. I wonder when the media will quit confusing that which is legal with that which is just, decent, moral, happy, fun, family-friendly, and snuggly, ... maybe ... never?

It's not just semi-automatics.  Almost all weapons owned in America are semi-automatics after all.  They are specifically attacking the military style rifles because they are the best means of defense in a rifle fight against your government.  Once they are gone, the ability to resist becomes far more difficult.

Actually, I've seen him question Israel several times, he does it fairly regularly, as far as I can tell. I've seen it from all of the alternative minor-media guys like him.

I disagree.  His delivery may not always be "perfect", but I haven't found many issues I disagree with that he raises.  Of course he digs a little deeper than needed on some issues, (I refuse to use the word conspiracy which is another disinfo term) but his overall message rings true.  He stands for Liberty, small government, wall street accountability, end of wars of aggression, etc.

Look past the man, pay attention to the message.

Alex wasn't goign to just sit there and get stawnmans thrown at him by Pierced Organ.
His rant was neccessary just to inject something into the moment he had. Infowars said AJ was held up by TSA at the airport so he was no doubt ready to rumble by the time he was in the studio.
Pierced Organ big questions were setups about 'which gun was used' and 'who do you think did 9/11'. Pointless for AJ to try and answer that stuff knowing it was just setups for Pierced Organs wet lettuce debate points.

AJ was right to just go nuts but he needs some Zen training to be able to rapid fire a bit more steadily when in a heartpumping rant mode.

Unfortunately, you may be correct.

Part of me wonders though if they didn't go back stage afterwords, have a drink and laugh it up.

Alex Jones says some things that make sense but his approach is almost childish at times. Maybe that's part of his appeal or maybe that's the way he is supposed to act. You can discredit a movement easiest if you can discredit its leaders. This is why I have so much respect for Ron Paul. He has always been consistent, told the truth and acted like a gentleman. We need more Ron Pauls and speeches made to stadiums of open minds and fewer mind fucks yukking it up on the new Jerry Springer show...

35 murders.  No fucking wonder Piers you fucking moron, there weren't 300,000,000 guns to start with.

Tue, 01/08/2013 - 02:01 | 3131998 BlackChicken
BlackChicken's picture

We should run with this a little...

What was the gun murder rate in the last year before the ban? Even without that number we can still do a comparison.

If we use the "post ban/confiscation" of 35 gun related murders, with the pre ban number of firearms at 200K, I think it would be 1500 times (accomodating for 300 million guns here), 35 or the related number/equivalent to 52,500.

Compare this to a rounded 11,500 gun murders here last year, and the UK would be 4.56 times worse per gun on average.

We are not doing as bad as them statistically, and the Second Amendment is NOT negotiable.

Someone please feel free to word that differently for clarity...lol.

Tue, 01/08/2013 - 03:06 | 3132102 ZFiNX

Let's do ratios instead:

11,500 gun-related murders/1 billion guns = 0.000001 or something

35 gun-related murders/ 0 guns = infinite

I still think the brits lose on this one.

Its amazing on ZH who you always seem so much crap about 'sheeple' on here yet people don't recognize this for what this is - a gimicky ratings boost for a crappy show.

Bet you bottom dollar that Piers Morgan has adopted this particular stance mainly to juice the ratings for his crummy show & save his TV career in the US.  Not any of the garbage that Alex Jones was ranting about including his 'New World Order' schtick.   It was also a great chance for Alex Jones to reach an audience he doesn't usually reach and drive traffic to his website.

Alex Jones knew what he was doing on CNN. He knew they were going to give him 10 min in the interview in which Piss redcoat Morgan would frame and control the interview asking CERTAIN questions from his 4x6 cards.. questions that would illicit CERTAIN answers. That way Pissface would control the narrative and what audience heard. Jones knows this. He TOOK control of the time, refused to be boxed in with the structured narrative they had planned... and took it where it needed to be taken... Wait a few days when people start looking up this video, replay it to hear the facts so they could check them out themselves. I see Alex Jones and Inforwars.com with an expanding audience share. People NEED to hear this shit... and if they reject it at first bcs they considered AJ too harsh, upcoming events will quickly remind them of AJ and where they need to go for answers. Alex Jones was what waas needed. We don't need another mild-mannered "gentleman" for the cause of liberty, we have had one of those, and he failed to awaken that many people {with all do respect to Ron Paul}. No, Americans need a frothing at the mouth mad dog, that is the only thing that will hold their two minute attention span. A 'gentleman type" like Dr. Paul would have gone into that so-called debate, and would have walked right into an ambush. The truth is, you can't have a debate with these people {CNN thugs}. They don't want a debate. They want to set you up with loaded questions {no pun intended} that play directly into their hands. Do it their way, and you can't win. Alex had to change the format away from the interviewer, and he successfully did. The restoration movement doesn't need anymore gentleman at this stage of the game. We need pit bulls who will viciously attack those that seek our enslavement. It has come to this.

More than anything else, this was a POLITICAL debate, with both contenders pitching to their respective viewer base.

Morgan was/is easy to take down at his own level. If AJ had the skills, he could have won over a good chunk of the CNN audience.

Remember, passion and is far more beneficial and appealing as fuel, than as explosive. A measured, Ghandi-like presentation would have thrown Morgan and CNN for a loop. Mini tirades solidify AJ's base more than rip large chunks of new followers. The old honey & vinegar trick that Jesus alluded to.

Now let's deport that... 'guy' anyway!
