To "The Precious Metal Purchasing Act" From Executive Order 6102 - Santelli's Take

Tyler Durden's picture

"Ever heard of SB3341?" is Rick Santelli's opening salvo in today's rantless discussion of the concerns he has with Illinois' 'Precious Metal Purchasing Act'. While passed in the Illinois Senate last year, and moth-balled in the House since, Rick notes that "the long and short of it is is they want an audit trail to any precious metals, whether you're talking coins or bullion." It does not seem too much of a stretch to this Chicagoan to the 1933 Executive Order #6102 that confiscated gold and cleared the way eventually for Nixon's 1971 disconnect of the dollar from gold. As Liberty Blitzkrieg's Mike Krieger notes: "So let me get this straight.  First they want gun registration and now precious metal registration?  I’m sure the government would only use such information in our best interests, because as we all know: Your Government Loves You.  Sounds reasonable, after all, only 'terrorists' buy guns and gold anyway."

From the bill (found here)

...Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall obtain a proof of ownership, create a record of the sale, and verify the identity of the seller. Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall not pay for the precious metal in cash and shall record the method of payment.

Requires the purchaser to keep a record of the sale for one year or, if the purchase amount is over $500, for 5 years.

No, all gold and silver are legal tender of like kind. The IRS codes are very specific about this. If you exchange cash for gold or silver or the reverse it is a non-taxable exchange.

USSA = NAZI? You better believe it!

Tyler et. al. read this and remember that scape-goating is the prelude to TOTAL CONTROL:

Look at the people with POWER in Hollywood, New York, government, do you really think they are NAZIS? Do you think former White House Chief of Staff, current Mayor of Chicago, and Israeli citizen Rahm Israel Emanuel, and his brother Ari, who is the Hollywood Super Agent who said he was going to drive Mel Gibson out of Hollywood in 2006, are NAZIS? Is Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg a Nazi? Is Charles Schumer, Senator from New York a Nazi? I think you have the wrong team.

you can choose to scape-goat jews or whomever you wish. hitler himself had jewish ancestry. the more you hate peoples the better for TPTB. if you can't unite with people based on what they stand for vs their race/ethinicity then you deserve all the worst.

And our prez is a nigger and Will Smith yields more power than that idiot Mel Gibson in HOLLYWOOD. So? Some of the worst Nazis WERE the Jews. But you probably didn't know that either. Nor did you actually read my link, bc if you did you wouldn't have made that distinction.

it's actually not scapegoating or scape-goating but scape-sheepling or scapesheepling or sheeple herding...

Nazis are just Bolsheviks who cared about design, the Nazis put a lot more emphasis on asthetics, thats why we have Hugo Boss and not Yuri Bossanov today for example.  Other than some differences in delivery, they are both designed to absolutely control the masses and dominate every aspect of an individual's life, in the name of progress.

Do those cheap cash registers print a consecutive transaction number? That could cause problems.

I worked for a national Cash Register company back in the 70s and 80s. We always had lots of demo machines around. Back then sales taxes were eligible for itemized deductions on the 1040, so every January I'd see lots of salesmen (no ladies selling registers back then!) churning out the sales receipts on various different machines. If the IRS asked if documentation was available for all those tax deductions, the answer would of course be 'yes'. I got booted out just before the company got sucked into a mega-corporation known affectionately as Cash Registers And Phones. Didn't know it at the time, but those were the good old days.

Santelli subtly suggests by saying "there were not many prosecutions" that the balance of judges probably dealt in the finer coinage themselves.  I believe the history proves there was some single confiscation levied upon a very vocal and visible holder.

The problem with intrusive government is that it feeds on the its own agents of power, thus reducing its power.  This is the one thing that keeps comlete gun control at bay.

That said, I can't believe Santelli keeps his sh!t in the basement.  That's just dumb.  Everyone keeps it in the basement.

I have over 1380 purchases on my ebay account from the last 4 years.
So I wanted to delete all that info.

anybody ever tried to close down their Ebay acount?
I tried it the other way! I just clicked buy on 50 sites and didn't pay. I thought they would shut down my account for doing so :)....

so it did a 100... 200... 300 unpaid... 400 unpaid... NOW I'M AT 1290 and finally I get a warning!!!!
I can't bid anymore but my account is still there!!

I still got 70 unpaid items so I really hope that now they'll shut it down...
I'm changing the name in the account, adress, delete the paypal link....
and I hope it will close down and be deleted....

I also canceled my visa I used for those transactions and applied for another one at another bank.

It's pretty damn hard to delete all those records! I bet it's even impossible!

The federal government can only establish lower agencies to regulate "public rights".    Gold ownership, just like gun ownership is a private Right.  Public rights can be changed, modified, regulated, etc.

If you do not realize your Rights come from God and not a piece of paper, you will continue to be a slave to the system.

I had this IRS agent come by years ago, he came to the door.   He was like you owe this and owe that, I said, can you show me the final Order from the US treasury as to your claim.   He turned around, never saw or heard from him again.

I could end this all with one state.  State cancel all agreements with the federal government which basically started in the 30s including SSA, normal tax, etc.  And yes, the federal government regulates and collects all this by agreement.

which "God'?

whose "God"?

because whether you choose to aknowledge this or not, there are many Gods worshipped by many Men.

don't think that aligning "State" with "God" isn't part of the systemic problem. . .

just a stickler for details sir.

if someOne's "god" is gonna kill me, I'm curious as to which, in case karma re-incarnates & I have to "choose" again.

same if "god forsakes" me, y'know?  why would I trust Him again?

some folks "god" apparently want to give the State the power to make decisions about my body, and it just doesn't set well with me - you should understand, as many here are up in arms about their guns, imagine if it was their "pricks" being subject to .gov whimsy?

You often make a lot of good points, it's just a shame that all to often you fall back into the whole female/male thing.

I'm in total agreement with you that a woman should be able to do what she wants with her body yet take it a step further back. If the woman *chooses* to have a cock stuffed inside her then that is her choice too. Ergo, Why is the male responsible for something she chose to have in her body?

As a male, if I had the ability to reproduce and wanted total say in whether or not to keep a baby I would also take total responsibility for what I allowed to happen to my body that got me in that situation. If a drug user gets hepatitus is it the dealers fualt for providing that user with the drugs in the first place? I'd say it was the personal responsibility of the drug user to decide if maybe it's a wise thing to do in the first place without taking all precautions.

Apologies if I've got your whole subtext wrong.

I kno what you're saying... There are not many folks here on ZH that I would object to sitting down & having a beer with... [cept for qualifiable dweebs from the past like MAX FISCHER]...

In many ways I'm old fashioned... I pine about the days that men sat in candlelit taverns and discussed these matters among MEN [NOT to exclude women ~ because it would have been all the better if, in the era, women who were so inclined were invited to participate]...

Unforttunately ~ there are no 'candlelit taverns' these days, the beer sucks, the INTERESTED women [who were never invited before], might have more compelling things to do, & a whole bunch of other things...

So ZH is it... [for BETTER or for worse]... I'll go ahead and say it's a 'blessing' [as times do stand]...

Good one, LandotFree.  THX!

I know of lots of people who have installed a very 'robust' wrought iron door, which keeps unwanted people/trespassers out, and you safely in.  Both parties can still 'talk' and exchange business cards: Their ID and Biz Card for your lawyer's biz card.  No 'legal need' or 'legal basis' to grant them entry... for a then-lawful look-see or search, because they thought they saw something  suspicious.

If you're not a suspect, there is no basis to be detained from "other things that require your immediate attention" in your home.  I you are a suspect, and they want you to answer some questions, cite you Miranda Rights and the Fifth Amendement, and a have a lawyer present.  If they want you to make a statement -- even and especially after a domestic event -- do not make a statement.  Rather, tell them that you will give them one within 24 hrs, after you've calmed down and collected your thoughts.  Afterwards, you call your lawyer right away, who will tell you that "we will make a statement when we're damn good and ready".

And go on YouTube and search for "Don't Talk To Cops".  Gold-nugget-grade info from Law Professor and Senior Cop.  What an eye-opener!

Government is and always has been organized crime.  They steal from you and extort from you.  If you dont play by their rules (even if youre not hurting anyone) they throw you in jail.  If you are a threat to their power, they will just kill you.  What about that isnt like organized crime?

Its the perfect business model.  You either buy from them (pay taxes, obey their rules) or you die or go to jail.

The best way to ameliorate this human predisposition is decentralization, in my opinion.

Need your boating license? If you operate any motorized recreational watercraft in Canada you are required to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator Card*, commonly known as a boat license. The Operator Card is required regardless of age, size of boat or engine horsepower. It's the law.
