Guest Post: The Linchpin Lie: How Global Collapse Will Be Sold To The Masses

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Brandon Smith of Alt-Market blog,

In our modern world there exist certain institutions of power.  Not government committees, alphabet agencies, corporate lobbies, or even standard military organizations; no, these are the mere “middle-men” of power.  The errand boys.  The well paid hitmen of the global mafia.  They are not the strategists or the decision makers.

Instead, I speak of institutions which introduce the newest paradigms.  Who write the propaganda.  Who issue the orders from on high.  I speak of the hubs of elitism which have initiated nearly every policy mechanism of our government for the past several decades.  I am talking about the Council On Foreign Relations, the Tavistock Institute, the Heritage Foundation (a socialist organization posing as conservative), the Bilderberg Group, as well as the corporate foils that they use to enact globalization, such as Monsanto, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, the Carlyle Group, etc.

Many of these organizations and corporations operate a revolving door within the U.S. government.  Monsanto has champions, like Donald Rumsfeld who was on the board of directors of its Searle Pharmaceuticals branch, who later went on to help the company force numerous dangerous products including Aspartame through the FDA.  Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan have a veritable merry-go-round of corrupt banking agents which are appointed to important White House and Treasury positions on a regular basis REGARDLESS of which party happens to be in office.  Most prominent politicians are all members of the Council on Foreign Relations, an organization which has openly admitted on multiple occasions that their goal is the destruction of U.S. sovereignty and the formation of a “one world government” or “supranational union” (their words, not mine).

However, one organization seems to rear its ugly head at the forefront of the most sweeping mass propaganda operations of our time, and has been linked to the creation of the most atrocious military methodologies, including the use of false flag events.  I am of course referring to the Rand Corporation, a California based “think tank” whose influence reaches into nearly every sphere of our society, from politics, to war, to entertainment.

The Rand Corporation deals in what I would call “absolute gray”.  The goal of the group from its very inception was to promote a social atmosphere of moral ambiguity in the name of personal and national priority.  They did this first through the creation of “Rational Choice Theory”; a theory which prescribes that when making any choice, an individual (or government) must act as if balancing costs against benefits to arrive at an action that maximizes personal advantage.  Basically, the ends justify the means, and moral conscience is not a factor to be taken seriously if one wishes to be successful.

Hilariously, rational choice theory has been attacked in the past by pro-socialist (collectivist) critics as “extreme individualism”; a philosophy which gives us license to be as “self serving” as possible while feeling patriotic at the same time.  In reality, the socialists should have been applauding Rand Corporation all along.

What Rand had done through its propaganda war against the American people was to infuse the exact culture of selfishness needed to push the U.S. towards the socialist ideal.  At the onset of any communist or national socialist society (sorry socialists, but they do indeed come from the same collectivist mindset), the masses are first convinced to hand over ultimate power to the establishment in order to safeguard THEMSELVES, not others.  That is to say, the common collectivist man chooses to hand over his freedoms and participate in totalitarianism not because he wants what is best for the world, but because he wants what is best for himself, and he believes servitude to the system will get him what he wants with as little private sacrifice as possible (you know, except for his soul…).

The psychologist Carl Jung notes in his observations of collectivism in Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia that most citizens of those nations did not necessarily want the formation of a tyrannical oligarchy, but, they went along with it anyway because they feared for their own comfort and livelihoods.  Many a German supported the Third Reich simply because they did not want to lose a cushy job, or a steady paycheck, or they liked that the “trains ran on time”.  Socialism is by far the most selfish movement in history, despite the fact that they claim to do what they do “for the greater good of the greater number”.

Rand also used Rational Choice Theory as a means to remove questions of principle from the debate over social progress.  Rational Choice propaganda commonly presents the target audience with a false conundrum.  A perfect example would be the hardcore propaganda based television show ‘24’ starring Kiefer Sutherland, in which a government “anti-terrorism” agent is faced with a controlled choice scenario in nearly every episode.  This choice almost always ends with the agent being forced to set aside his morals and conscience to torture, kill, and destroy without mercy, or, allow millions of innocents to die if he does not.

Of course, the real world does not work this way.  Life is not a chess game.   Avenues to resolution of any crisis are limited only by our imagination and intelligence, not to mention the immense number of choices that could be made to defuse a crisis before it develops.  Yet, Rand would like you to believe that we (and those in government) are required to become monstrous in order to survive.  That we should be willing to forgo conscience and justice now for the promise of peace and tranquility later.

This is the age old strategy of Centralization; to remove all choices within a system, by force or manipulation, until the masses think they have nothing left but the choices the elites give them.  It is the bread and butter of elitist institutions like Rand Corporation, and is at the core of the push for globalization.

In my studies on the developing economic disaster (or economic recovery depending on who you talk to) I have come across a particular methodology many times which set off my analyst alarm (or spidey-sense, if you will).  This latest methodology, called “Linchpin Theory”, revolves around the work of John Casti, a Ph.D. from USC, “complexity scientist” and “systems theorist”, a Futurist, and most notably, a former employee of Rand Corporation:

Casti introduces his idea of “Linchpin Theory” in his book “X-Events:  The Collapse Of Everything”, and what I found most immediately striking about the idea of “Linchpin Events” was how they offered perfect scapegoat scenarios for catastrophes that are engineered by the establishment.

Linchpin Theory argues that overt social, political, and technological “complexity” is to blame for the most destructive events in modern human history, and it is indeed an enticing suggestion for those who are uneducated and unaware of the behind the scenes mechanics of world events.  Casti would like you to believe that political and social tides are unguided and chaotic; that all is random, and disaster is a product of “chance” trigger events that occur at the height of a malfunctioning and over-complicated system.

What he fails to mention, and what he should well know being a member of Rand, is that global events do not evolve in a vacuum.  There have always been those groups who see themselves as the “select”, and who aspire to mold the future to there personal vision of Utopia.  It has been openly admitted in myriad official observations on historical events that such groups have had a direct hand in the advent of particular conflicts.

For instance, Casti would call the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria an “X-event”, or linchpin, leading to the outbreak of WWI, when historical fact recalls that particular crisis was carefully constructed with the specific mind to involve the U.S.

Norman Dodd, former director of the Committee to Investigate Tax Exempt Foundations of the U.S. House of Representatives, testified that the Committee was invited to study the minutes of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as part of the Committee's investigation. The Committee stated:

"The trustees of the Foundation brought up a single question.  If it is desirable to alter the life of an entire people, is there any means more efficient than war.... They discussed this question... for a year and came up with an answer: There are no known means more efficient than war, assuming the objective is altering the life of an entire people.  That leads them to a question: How do we involve the United States in a war.  This was in 1909."

So, long before the advent of Ferdinand’s assassination, plans were being set in motion by globalist interests to draw the U.S. into a large scale conflict in order to “alter the life, or thinking, of the entire culture”.  When a group of people set out to direct thinking and opportunity towards a particular outcome, and the end result is a culmination of that outcome, it is obviously not coincidence, and it is definitely not providence.  It can only be called subversive design.

In the economic arena, one might say that the collapse of Lehman Bros. was the “linchpin” that triggered the landslide in the derivatives market which is still going on to this day.  However, the derivatives market bubble was a carefully constructed house of cards, deliberately created with the help of multiple agencies and institutions.  The private Federal Reserve had to artificially lower interest rates and inject trillions upon trillions into the housing market, the international banks had to invest those trillions into mortgages that they KNEW were toxic and likely never to be repaid.  The Federal Government had to allow those mortgages to then be chopped up into derivatives and resold on the open market.  The ratings agencies had to examine those derivatives and obviously defunct mortgages and then stamp them AAA.  The SEC had to ignore the massive fraud being done in broad daylight while sweeping thousands of formal complaints and whistle blowers under the rug.

This was not some “random” event caused by uncontrolled “complexity”.  This was engineered complexity with a devious purpose.  The creation of the derivatives collapse was done with foreknowledge, at least by some.  Goldman Sachs was caught red handed betting against their OWN derivatives instruments!  Meaning they knew exactly what was about to happen in the market they helped build!  This is called Conspiracy…

One might attribute Casti’s idea to a sincere belief in chaos, and a lack of insight into the nature of globalism as a brand of religion.  However, in his first and as far as I can tell only interview with Coast To Coast Radio, Casti promotes catastrophic “X-Events” as a “good thing” for humanity, right in line with the Rand Corporation ideology.  Casti, being a futurist and elitist, sees the ideas of the past as obsolete when confronted with the technological advancements of the modern world, and so, describes X-event moments as a kind of evolutionary “kickstart”, knocking us out of our old and barbaric philosophies of living and forcing us, through trial by fire, to adapt to a more streamlined culture.  The linchpin event is, to summarize Casti’s position, a culture’s way of “punishing itself” for settling too comfortably into its own heritage and traditions.  In other words, WE will supposedly be to blame for the next great apocalypse, not the elites…

I might suggest that Casti's attitude seems to be one of general indifference to human suffering in the wake of his "X-Events", and that he would not necessarily be opposed to the deaths of millions if it caused the "advancement" of humanity towards a particular ideology.  His concept of "advancement" and ours are likely very different, though.  I suspect that he is well aware that X-Events are actually tools at the disposal of elitists to generate the "evolution" he so desires, and that evolution includes a collectivist result.

With almost every major economy on the globe on the verge of collapse and most now desperately inflating, taxing, or outright stealing in order to hide their situation, with multiple tinderbox environments being facilitated in the Pacific with China, North Korea, and Japan, and in the Middle East and Africa with Egypt, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Yemen, Mali, etc., there is no doubt that we are living in a linchpin-rich era.  It is inevitable that one or more of these explosive tension points will erupt and cause a chain reaction around the planet.  The linchpin and the chain reaction will become the focus of our epoch, rather than the men who made them possible in the first place.

Strangely, Casti’s theory was even recently featured in an episode of the ABC mystery/drama show “Castle”, called “Linchpin” (what else?), in which a writer turned detective uncovers a plot by a “shadow group” to use the research of the innocent Dr. Nelson Blakely (apparently based on Casti) to initiate a collapse of the U.S. economy by assassinating the ten-year-old daughter of a prominent Chinese businessman, triggering a dump of U.S. Treasuries by China and fomenting WWIII:

Now, I think anyone with any sense can see where this is going.  Casti and Rand Corporation are giving us a glimpse into the future of propaganda.  This is what will be written in our children’s history books if the globalists have their way. The fact that Linchpin Theory is featured in a primetime television show at all is a testament to Rand Corporation’s influence in the media.  But, as for the wider picture, are the trigger points around us really just a product of complex coincidence?

Not a chance.

Each major global hot-spot today can easily be linked back to the designs of international corporate and banking interests and the puppet governments they use as messengers.  Casti claims that “X-events” and “linchpins” cannot be accurately predicted, but it would seem that they can certainly be purposely instigated.

The globalists have stretched the whole of the world thin.  They have removed almost every pillar of support from the edifice around us, and like a giant game of Jenga, are waiting for the final piece to be removed, causing the teetering structure to crumble.  Once this calamity occurs, they will call it a random act of fate, or a mathematical inevitability of an overly complex system.  They will say that they are not to blame.  That we were in the midst of “recovery”.  That they could not have seen it coming.

Their solution will be predictable.  They will state that in order to avoid such future destruction, the global framework must be “simplified”, and what better way to simplify the world than to end national sovereignty, dissolve all borders, and centralize nation states under a single economic and political ideal?

Is it the Hegelian Dialectic all over again?  Yes.  Is it old hat feudalism and distraction?  Yes.  But, I have to hand it to Casti and Rand Corporation; they certainly have refined the argument for collectivism, centralization, technocracy, slavery, moral relativism, and false-flag dupery down to a near science…

speaking of the ISI, why does the US GOVT hide the fact of the $100,000 transfer? True there is no honor amongst thieves but you are are not suggesting that these  agencies arent trained by and don't share information are you. That's history. And just because our oil strategy failed doesn't mean it wasn't our intent. One does not prove the other. For example, your middle east "expertise" would have confirmed NEOCON ignorance under betting the cost and effort of "democratic" conversion.

Chindit,Erudite and intelligent man of the world, yet unable to admit to a conspiracy so out in the open and in our faces. Fall of 2008 to date, no fall of 2001 to date. An organization called the Federal reserve made to function for the people of the USA, yet part- owned by foreign banks , not incompetence but design. Conspiracy seems a concept you deride in much of your writing and posts. One wonders why?

for something else to chew on..EU paying for posters to attack anti-EU posters on the web, perhaps you are paid to post by those who control the media, but no that's not possible why that's crazy.

Your speaking into the howling mad wind on this one.  The 'one world govt' idiots always baffle me in that they somehow think the human technology is so sophisicated that handfuls of individuals in countries can control the entire population and direct the course of human history.  Random event such as disease, weather, climate, and others apparently don't matter that much.  Let's not even consider the huge differences that people have with nationalist or religious or ideaological differences.

I can never get past the question of catering all these Illuminati gatherings.  You know what I mean?  Seriously, you've got Orthodox Jews and Arabs, Chinese, Indian Hindus, beef-eatin' Texans, Russians, fussy French, Brits (in a worldwide poll voted the World's Worst Cuisine).  I guess everybody likes dead babies roasted in gold leaf (Alex Jones claim)?  But what sauce?  The decisions!  And that's all before they set about deciding how the world should spin.

So what? Now that you've raised your elegant, dietary questions, Bildeberg will cancel their next meeting or open it to press?

Bohemian Grove will realize that they need to expand the menu?

Instead of worrying about the elite's diet, why not tell us what trolls eat, so we better know how not to feed them?

chindit13's picture

I don't think we'll open it to the press, and as a private entity we are under no obligation to do so.  Are you one of those Big Government types who wants to infiltrate private functions and dictate behavior?  What I can do is grab a menu and send it to you.  Of course, god's gift to the addled set, Alex Jones, reportedly prints up his own menus from our galas, though he obtains his ideas by pulling them from that place where the sun don't shine.  By the way, at one of the meals last year we were served a 1995 Chateau Lafite Rothschild---isn't that so apropos!---that was drinking very well.  On another occasion we had choices that included a Castello Banfi Brunello de Montalcino, a more modest-priced wine but from a winery owned by---the Dillon family.  Are they devils, too?  At Bohemian Grove we tend to get a lot of Napa offerings, like Shafer, so we really drink up the Euro stuff at Bilderberg, as we also did last week in Davos.  Had a quick nosh with Soros when I was there, and he showed me that trick again where his Satanic forked tongue can lick his own eyebrows.  That kills me every time!  That George!  We also have a heck of a time kidding the Chinese Neo-Illuminatis (like from the Dragon Family) about all the counterfeit vintages the boys from the Middle Kingdom are putting out.   Can't be too careful about fakes.  Why, I had a really interesting conversation with Bill Koch about fakes...that stuff just riles him no end.  Good man, Bill.  Nice family, too.

Article should have been listed under the "Friday humor" category, as that was as close a fit to the ZH mantras that I could pigeonhole it into.

alfbell's picture

You have to be a real stick-in-the-mud, fixated idiot to shout "conspiracy" at articles such as this. Get your head out of the sand ostrich and face reality.

Just look at human behaviour. Of course there are elitist groups; of course they have plans to control the world or sections of it; of course there is a quest for control, power, and wealth; of course they have disagreements and conflicts between each other; of course they are just as stupid and incompetent as any other human walking the planet; of course there are some very intelligent ones; and of course destructive purposes and intentions usually go awry.

But despite all of this, these groups have caused our civilization to make many an errant turn, they've caused a lot of damage and will continue to do so unless they are routed out and stopped.

This is a HUGE load of nonsense!

So you are going to say that these elites are so smart that they actually know what they are doing and have a  planned outcome with respect to the current crisis?

You give them FAR too much credit.

Because once you set evens of this magnitude in motion you CANNOT predict let alone control the outcome.

The elites are simply greedy, short-sighted PIGS - who are flailing desperately trying to hold the global economy together.

samcontrol's picture

the system is perfect, banks get free money, they buy debt, countries tax the shit out of everybody.
have you seen people rally in Spain,,, Pardon my REAL french but what f wimps.... who will revolt ???? where? for how long?

they are greedy and winning .
things will collapse . in 50 years.....

Sizzurp's picture

In respect to X-events, and reaching a planned political or social outcome from these events, it seems that you first have to achieve the reigns of power to effect the change you want after the crisis.  I don't think this is anything new.  We have seen examples of this for all known history. Governments always want more power, and X-events, be they natural or manufactured, allow them to subvert the natural desire for individuals to live in freedom.  As long as the narrative, the propaganda apparatus, is controlled by those in power, any event can be spun to get the desired shift in public opinion.  In short, shit happens, but it's the spin that gets you to submit to the new paradigm.

smacker's picture

Don't confuse the moronic political elites that we all know and hate with the shadowy figures in the background who pull their strings. The process known as "government" is where they come together to decide policy and action.

The former are little more than mindless talking heads, the latter are often very clever people (which is why they're pulling the policy strings).

reTARD's picture

Spot on. The socialists/fascists/communists (all a subset of statism) have indeed masked themselves as "capitalists." They will blame capitalism despite their secretly run and subtle master plan of statism running underneath the surface. Realize that these elites are indeed these statists.

Let me explain in simple terms step by step.

1) All the global banks were up to their eye-balls in toxic assets. All the AAA mortgage-backed securities etc. were in fact JUNK. But in the balance sheets of the banks and their special purpose vehicles (SPVs), they were stated to be worth US$ TRILLIONS.

2) The collapse of Lehman Bros and AIG exposed this ugly truth. All the global banks had liabilities in the US$ Trillions. They were all INSOLVENT. The central banks the world over conspired and agreed not to reveal the total liabilities of the global banks as that would cause a run on these banks, as happened in the case of Northern Rock in the U.K.

3) A devious scheme was devised by the FED, led by Bernanke to assist the global banks to unload systematically and in tranches the toxic assets so as to allow the banks to comply with RESERVE REQUIREMENTS under the fractional reserve banking system, and to continue their banking business. This is the essence of the bailout of the global banks by central bankers.

4) This devious scheme was effected by the FED’s quantitative easing (QE) – the purchase of toxic assets from the banks. The FED created “money out of thin air” and used that “money” to buy the toxic assets at face or book value from the banks, notwithstanding they were all junks and at the most, worth maybe ten cents to the dollar. Now, the FED is “loaded” with toxic assets once owned by the global banks. But these banks cannot declare and or admit to this state of affairs. Hence, this financial charade.

5) If we are to follow simple logic, the exercise would result in the global banks flushed with cash to enable them to lend to desperate consumers and cash-starved businesses. But the money did not go out as loans. Where did the money go?

6) It went back to the FED as reserves, and since the FED bought US$ trillions worth of toxic wastes, the “money” (it was merely book entries in the Fed’s books) that these global banks had were treated as “Excess Reserves”. This is a misnomer because it gave the ILLUSION that the banks are cash-rich and under the fractional reserve system would be able to lend out trillions worth of loans. But they did not. Why?

7) Because the global banks still have US$ trillions worth of toxic wastes in their balance sheets. They are still insolvent under the fractional reserve banking laws. The public must not be aware of this as otherwise, it would trigger a massive run on all the global banks!

8) Bernanke, the US Treasury and the global central bankers were all praying and hoping that given time (their estimation was 12 to 18 months) the housing market would recover and asset prices would resume to the levels before the crisis. .

Let me explain: A House was sold for say US$500,000. Borrower has a mortgage of US$450,000 or more. The house is now worth US$200,000 or less. Multiply this by the millions of houses sold between 2000 and 2008 and you will appreciate the extent of the financial black-hole. There is no way that any of the global banks can get out of this gigantic mess. And there is also no way that the FED and the global central bankers through QE can continue to buy such toxic wastes without showing their hands and exposing the lie that these banks are solvent.

It is my estimation that they have to QE up to US$20 trillion at the minimum. The FED and no central banker would dare “create such an amount of money out of thin air” without arousing the suspicions and or panic of sovereign creditors, investors and depositors. It is as good as declaring officially that all the banks are BANKRUPT.

9) But there is no other solution in the short and middle term except another bout of quantitative easing, QE II. Given the above caveat, QE II cannot exceed the amount of the previous QE without opening the proverbial Pandora Box.

10) But it is also a given that the FED will embark on QE II, as under the fractional reserve banking system, if the FED does not purchase additional toxic wastes, the global banks (faced with mounting foreclosures, etc.) will fall short of their reserve requirements.

11) You will also recall that the FED at the height of the crisis announced that interest will be paid on the so-called “excess reserves” of the global banks, thus enabling these banks to “earn” interest. So what we have is a merry-go-round of monies moving from the right pocket to the left pocket at the click of the computer mouse. The FED creates money, uses it to buy toxic assets, and the same money is then returned to the FED by the global banks to earn interest. By this fiction of QE, banks are flushed with cash which enable them to earn interest. Is it any wonder that these banks have declared record profits?

12) The global banks get rid of some of their toxic wastes at full value and at no costs, and get paid for unloading the toxic wastes via interest payments. Additionally, some of the “monies” are used by these banks to purchase US Treasuries (which also pay interests) which in turn allows the US Treasury to continue its deficit spending. THIS IS THE BAILOUT RIP OFF of the century.

Now that you fully understand this SCAM, it is left to be seen how the FED will get away with the next round of quantitative easing – QE II.

Obviously, the FED and the other central banks are hoping that in time, asset prices will recover and resume their previous values before the crisis. This is a fantasy. QE II will fail just as QE I failed to save the banks.

The patient is in intensive care and is for all intent and purposes brain dead, although the heart is still pumping albeit faintly. The Too Big To Fail Banks cannot be rescued and must be allowed to be liquidated. It will be painful, but it is necessary before there is recovery. This is a given.

When the ball hits the ceiling fan, sometime early 2011 at the earliest, there will be massive bank runs.

I expect that the FED and other central banks will pre-empt such a run and will do the following:

1) Disallow cash withdrawals from banks beyond a certain amount, say US$1,000 per day; 2) Disallow cash transactions up to a certain amount, say US$10,000 for certain transactions; 3) Transactions (investments) for metals (gold and silver) will be restricted; 4) Worst-case scenario – the confiscation of gold AS HAPPENED IN WORLD WAR II. 5) Imposition of capital controls etc.; 6) Legislations that will compel most daily commercial transactions to be conducted through Debit and or Credit Cards; 7) Legislations to make it a criminal offence for any contraventions of the above.

Maintain a bank balance sufficient to enable you to comply with the above potential impositions.

Start diversifying your assets away from dollar assets. Have foreign currencies in sufficient quantities in those jurisdictions where the above anticipated impositions are least likely to be implemented.

There will be a financial tsunami (round two) the likes of which the world has never seen.

Global banks will collapse!

I am a moral person and I know that violence does not really ever solve problems, and will only backfire on you and the good people. Yet, if violence was a solution I'd have no qualms about blowing the Eccles Building off the face of the map; walking into the Capital Building and shooting every scumbag senator and house member; same with the White House; same with the Supreme Court; and also exterminating all the CEOs and high execs of all of these investment banks (GS, Chase, etc.) and these predatory corporations (Monsanto, etc.); and wiping out the IMF, BIS, etc. etc. and so on and so on. It would be so wonderful if annihilating all of these predatory, delusional, arrogant maniacs were a true solution and the greatest good for the greatest number. But lo, it is not. These creeps would all be gone but aspect of human behaviour that is behind all of this (i.e., the animal mind) would not have changed one bit and we'd be right back where we started in no time fast. Yep. And Nazis were elected, then systematically set about killing selected groups, as did Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao and Pol Pot.

They had laws to promote their agendas. What they didn't have was a Constitution, by the people, for the people, of the people.

Fascists come in many colors, creeds and religions. The NDAA and Patriot Act are fascist. CONgress is following a fascist path.

reTARD's picture

The clue to the core, essence, motive, and real meaning of the doctrine of “Government by Consensus” [is] the cult of compromise.

It was also said that if fascism ever came to the United States, it would come disguised as socialism. In this connection, I recommend that you read or re-read Sinclair Lewis' It Can't Happen Here—with special reference to the character, style, and ideology of Berzelius Windrip, the fascist leader.

Now let me mention, and answer, some of the standard objections by which today's "liberals" attempt to camouflage (to differentiate from fascism) the nature of the system they are supporting.

"Fascism requires one-party rule." What will the notion of "Government by Consensus" amount to in practice?

"Fascism's goal is the conquest of the world." What is the goal of those global-minded, bipartisan champions of the United Nations? And, if they reach it, what positions do they expect to acquire in the power-structure of "One World"?

"Fascism preaches racism." Not necessarily. Hitler's Germany did; Mussolini's Italy did not.

"Fascism is opposed to the welfare state." Check your premises and your history books. The father and originator of the welfare state, the man who put into practice the notion of buying the loyalty of some groups with money extorted from others, was Bismarck—the political ancestor of Hitler. Let me remind you that the full title of the Nazi Party was: the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany.

Let me remind you also of some excerpts from the political program of that party, adopted in Munich, on February 24, 1920:

We ask that the government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living.

The activities of the individual must not be allowed to clash with the interests of the community, but must take place within its confines and be for the good of all. Therefore, we demand: ... an end to the power of the financial interests.

We demand profit sharing in big business.

We demand a broad extension of care for the aged.

We demand ... the greatest possible consideration of small business in the purchases of the national, state, and municipal governments.

In order to make possible to every capable and industrious [citizen] the attainment of higher education and thus the achievement of a post of leadership, the government must provide an all-around enlargement of our entire system of public education. . . . We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents. . . .

The government must undertake the improvement of public health—by protecting mother and child, by prohibiting child labor ... by the greatest possible support for all clubs concerned with the physical education of youth.

[We] combat the ... materialistic spirit within and without us, and are convinced that a permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of The Common Good Before the Individual Good. (Der Natlonalsozialismus Dokumente 1933-1945, edited by Walther Hofer, Frankfurt am Main: Fischer Bucherei, 1957, pp. 29-31. For many more quotations of this kind, revealing the altruist-collectivist base of the Nazi and fascist ideology, I refer you to The Fascist New Frontier.)

There is, however, one difference between the type of fascism toward which we are drifting, and the type that ravaged European countries: ours is not a militant kind of fascism, not an organized movement of shrill demagogues, bloody thugs, hysterical third-rate intellectuals, and juvenile delinquents—ours is a tired, worn, cynical fascism, fascism by default, not like a flaming disaster, but more like the quiet collapse of a lethargic body slowly eaten by internal corruption.

Did it have to happen? No. Can it still be averted? Yes.

If you doubt the power of philosophy to set the course and shape the destiny of human societies, observe that our mixed economy is the literal, faithfully carried-out product of Pragmatism—and of the generation brought up under its influence. Pragmatism is the philosophy which holds that there is no objective reality or permanent truth, that there are no absolute principles, no valid abstractions, no firm concepts, that anything may be tried by rule-of-thumb, that objectivity consists of collective subjectivism, that whatever people wish to be true, is true, whatever people wish to exist, does exist—provided a consensus says so.

If you want to avert the final disaster, it is this type of thinking—every one of those propositions and all of them— that you must face, grasp, and reject. Then you will have grasped the connection of philosophy to politics and to the daily events of your life. Then you will have learned that no society is better than its philosophical foundation. And then— to paraphrase John Galt—you will be ready, not to return to capitalism, but to discover it.

No, instead they will blame the global collapse on the mother of all collapses, which is the biosphere collapse.

The particular form of economic organization, which is becoming more and more apparent in this country, as an outgrowth of the power of pressure groups, is one of the worst variants of statism: guild socialism. Guild socialism robs the talented young of their future—by freezing men into professional castes under rigid rules. It represents an open embodiment of the basic motive of most statists, though they usually prefer not to confess it: the entrenchment and protection of mediocrity from abler competitors, the shackling of the men of superior ability down to the mean average of their professions. That theory is not too popular among socialists (though it has its advocates)—but the most famous instance of its large-scale practice was Fascist Italy.

In the 1930's, a few perceptive men said that Roosevelt's New Deal was a form of guild socialism and that it was closer to Mussolini's system than to any other. They were ignored. Today, the evidence is unmistakable.

One world government...

Good luck with that Casti.

You think that people who fight over their football and soccer teams, and who a short 140 years ago fought Brother against Brother, and who have fought two World Wars in the past 100 years, and who can't keep a small scale geographically connected union (Euro) together are going to allow one world government?

The shit will all fall apart before that happens.

I know it is a popular notion, and no doubt banks and governments will try through legislation, economic hegemony, and police state tactics; but it will slip through their fingers like sand.

The worse things get the more localized, regionalized, and nationalistic things and people will become.

I would  give you more credit if you refrained from calling Socialism as a 'collectivist' ideology. It is not! National Socialists in WWII Germany did not see themselves as collectivists.

Would you refer to Germany as a collectivist state under Nazis or for that matter is Germany a collectivist state as its political economy following de-nazification never strayed too far from national socialism?

And I would give more credit to the creoles if they got up off their knees and started defending the Republic, as did the black men who fought for the Union, and founded Memorial Day. (See the Yale archive for that fact.) A man is judged by the content of his character, not the color of his skin.

Or you could consider this.  If all crumbles then it will level the playing field in ways that havne't been seen since the Great Depression and out of those ashes new opportunities to those that had the balls and the smarts to take advantage.  Why do you think the elites try so hard to stop the massive deflation?  Deflation is a gift to the little guy but makes the big guy small.  So when you hear Obama wanting to inflate housing that is contrary to helping the poor to have a chance at getting his.  Those programs, while reportedly helping the people is in fact only protecting the assets of the wealthy.   Let it crumble and then see what happens as real life outcomes hardly mimic think tank theories.

as an intellectual exercise the two most obvious and, therefore, favorites, are the benefits of one world .gov and economy and the other is ending world poverty by providing food, clothing, and shelter to all humans. out of those discussions come the limiting factors of population growth, food production and limited resources. these apparently altruistic ends run into the wall of those basic human traditions of power and greed. that is where the means become suspect. the world cannot support the number of people expected at some point in the future so the population needs to be culled and remain managed within a certain sustainable number that might be determined by need. since the need is dictated by the production and productivity of the working proletariat and technology reduces the need for the number of people because of productivity gains then birthrates must be controlled to maintain the optimal demographic.killing people is the only way the human race can survive.

the other problem to be resolved is who will lead this new world order. this is suimple. everyone raises their hand and all are killed off until the last one(or two) is standing.

clearly the west needs to kill all the brown people if they want to be the last man standing and clearly the brown people need to kill all the whites if they want to be the last man standing. the time for the cage match is now. the white .1%ers vs the brown .1%ers.

the only way to stop it is for the people to regularly interrupt their leaders' supply of oxygen.

Personally I don't think all of this will ever work.  I still think they have put things on the fast track because of the net and things are getting to damn sloppy which will eventually leave to mass destruction anyways.  No one trusts any of these bastards.  Or should I say enough of us to actually make some kind of a difference doesn't trust them.  And now they need our guns. LMAO. If I only had a 5% approval rating I wouldn't want anyone to own a gun either.

Millions of Americans (and businesses) could leave their red, blue and purple states and pack up and move to Texas... build up the infrastructure... have a construction and employment boom... and build up a huge state militia. Once we had a population of 50M+ we could tell Wash DC to stuff it up their trombone and secede and start a new country based on an evolved Constitution and Bill of Rights. Small government with reserves, surpluses and sane fiscal policies, a solidly built and maintained infrastructure, populist vote (no electoral college), no intervention in the personal lives or businesses of its citizens, no income tax, rule of law (contracts, private property, etc.), no adversarial law, no gun control, no merging of religion with state, etc. etc.

Grow up! Your libertarian utopia has never existed and never will. Small government? What the hell does that even mean? You probably babble that phrase a million times and you don't even understand its meaning.
Small government like no financial regulation, especially shadow banking? Right, that worked out well the last time.
Government surpluses? Do you understand that if the government runs surpluses the private sector must run a deficit?

No, Devolution!

There's probably no Western government that couldn't be slashed in half (eventually more) with anybody noticing, except they'd have more money in their pockets. Everything a government does should pass the NEEE test:

N= Necessary, E= effective, E= efficient, E= enforced

That test would immediately wipe away huge numbers of laws and regulations, but retain those necessary to ensure (eg banks) behave in the public interest and big biz doesn't monopolize.

i like your thorough progression, but there is no way that national sovereinty as an ideal ceases to be. even if for a 200 year period people merely wait, there will always be something which has the ability to bring the individual back.

let them take it, and pretend to hold it for the good of all, their hubris and ineptitude will show their lack of knowledge of the species.

they will lose because they are destined to lose. because logic dictates that an individual serves the greater good, not a greater body which preaches itself as good.
