Iran Releases Footage From Hacked US Drone
Back in December 2011 the US government first lied, then grudgingly had to admit that Iran had seized one of its RQ-170 Sentinel drones, which crash-landed in the middle of the country, after Iran released a video showing its scientists attempting to reverse engineer the contents of the drone. Naturally, the US politely asked for its drone back, and just as naturally, Iran politely refused to comply. So what was Iran doing in the intervening 14 months? Hacking the drone of course, which it finally succeeded last night when it released a short clip of what it had supposedly extracted from the remains of the Sentinel. The full clip is below, and while it does not provide any incremental informational benefits to Iran, or any further humiliation to whoever created the US drone fleet without a self-destruct option, it certainly will boost Iranian morale on the ground for hacking the Great Satan.
More from Telegraph:
The video aired late on Wednesday on Iranian TV shows an aerial view of an airport and a city, said to be a US drone base and Kandahar, Afghanistan. The TV also showed images purported to be the Sentinel landing at a base in eastern Iran but it was unclear if that footage meant to depict the moment of the drone's seizure.
In addition, the TV also showed images of an Iranian helicopter transporting the drone, as well as its disassembled parts being carried on a trailer.
In another part of the video, the chief of the Revolutionary Guard's airspace division, Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said that only after capturing the drone, Iran realised it "belongs to the CIA."
"We were able to definitively access the data of the drone, once we brought it down," said Gen Hajizadeh.
He described the Sentinel's capture as a huge scoop for Iran, saying that at the time, Tehran did not rule out a possible punitive US air strike over the drone.
We for one can't wait the algo buying explosion on expectations of the global GDP boost that would result from a US attack to finally reclaim its property and avoid such additional embarrassment in the future.

Your anger should be directed at the real wingnuts, the Neo-Cons and the Saudi's...........
Who told you I wasn't disgusted by the Neo-Cons and the Saudi's? I am heartily disgusted by them. My Uncle was a major general in WW11, I'm talking about the center of the Muslim loonie problem here; basically, the Neo-Cons as such have passed into history, thank god; what we're left with is the military spending money like water to amuze themselves and promote officers; which need to stop. The Saudi's are, of course, wingnuts; but they'll self-destruct; and the object lesson of changing regimes in Iran would make their secret police stop all their private family loonies who also finance the Taliban in Pakistan, and elsewhere. Iran is the military pressure point to subdue the all too prominent activities of various cultists in various regions. And, I don't think our current "dear Leader" will do anything about it; so don;t worry.
Russian SAMs will cause big problems for US air power; and you know this how? You're up to date on all the top secret counter measures for Russian SAMs; by the way they don;'t sell state of the art SAM's; they sell off the old models to their dummy clients. I used to work in R&D in electronics on military contracts; Anti-air missiles are like battleship armament races in the thirties; the only thing that counts is who's ahead in the technology. "Well concealed", eh? And you know this how? Nobody knows their locations, right? Right. Your namesake would have done his homework first; before fainting in terror at the enemies countermeasures.

You're not so good with details, are you? The US sold F-14s to Iran in the 1970s, not F-16s.
Between that and your mistaken assertion that Iran invaded Iraq, it sounds like you'd better check in with your doctor. Your medications are causing confusion and disorientation.
Draghi spoke; and the Euro is crashing; making me money. They don't believe him anymore; amazing! what's not to believe?
Drones for hostages? The sequel to arms for hostages.
The military is scrambling.
Our universities taught the best and brightest Iranian, Chinese and Korean scientist.
All the chip technology and manufacturing was exported to China with the help of Wall Street and Washington.
The US defense contractors gave away all the M.I.R.V technology for nuks to China. It then goes to Iran and North Korea.
Ignorance is so litberating; because you can believe any kind of crap that winds your clock. MIRV technology my ass. Iran is so far from needing any MIRV's or having any use for that kind of tech. it's ridiculous to even mention.
You think Iran is poorer or less technologically advanced than North Korea?
You don't think there are Russian and Chinese scientist advisors working by their side? You are the ignorant one, or just too damn smug for your or anyone elses good.
I hate to look at other peoples vacation pictures.....sooooo booooorrrring
That's some high quality footage. So when these hit the states they're sure to target the right house./sarc
So I have a question: If they were able to hack the UAV so well that they landed it without a scratch, how come it took them 14 months to come up with the video?
GPS transmissions are unencrypted. Iran brought the drone down by spoofing GPS signals. Fairly innovative, but "hack" would be an overstatement.
The data within I'd imagine is encrypted. 14 months to brute force CIA encryption is kind of impressive.

LMAO, anybody remember when the good 'ole USA gave Iran all those F-14 Tomcats??? Guess what, they got em overhauled and ready to go!!

They weren't given the planes. They bought 80. Delivery was suspended after the revolution. There are alledgedly have some servicable F-14s left. The Phoenix missiles were tragically lost shortly after the revolution in unusual circumstances. But there are claims of 160 or so Iraqi aircraft shot down by Iranian F-14s with AIM-9s during the Iran/Iraq war.

You can actually go back to the turning point of America when the people lost control of their government; it was when the bankers purchased the politicians. They had been buying political support since the founding of America, but the turning point came when the bankers received the green light to produce American currency. Now, the purchase is complete.
The framers gave the Congress the sole authority to declare war: not the president, not the bankers, but the Congress. And because the bankers now own the Congress, there’s no opposition to waging war. To violate another country’s air space for the purpose of spying and gathering information is an act of war. And the Congress is not involved because they are bought off.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is writing a letter of support for Obama’s use of a drone to kill an American citizen suggesting that all members of Congress should sign the letter so that Obama is not left out there on his own to be criticized.
Hagel once said that he was not an Israeli senator, he was a U.S. senator. Lindsey Graham, in all fairness, would not be able to say he was not, in effect. an Israeli senator.
GOP = Israel. Hell, Dems too.

They finally let Obama fly solo and look what happened.
trojan horse
No color TV? What a rip-off! What is this, 1952? I'd ask for my money back.
Yeah; big whoopie. "wow this place looks like shit from airborne video"; what, you can't say that; execute that man tomorrow at dawn. Great place. They hang 16 year old girls in public for allegedly cuddling with a guy. The sooner they go down, the better.
Yeah, sorta like Israeli killing 16 year olds for throwing stones at tanks to defend their homes, and US cops that shoot unarmed civilians in thier own house. We ARE so much better than those scum!
Yes, “the sooner they go down, the better (SAT 800)” and, then, we’ll be able to kill 16-year-old girls and their families by the hundreds of thousands. And, then, we’ll need to pick a new target.
They took our drone away? I thought they were going after our freedom?
WTF!
Maybe all the other drones will seek revenge and stop buzzing over our heads.
Here is a longer version with more footage. Betcha these guys in the hangers really love being made famous in this video.:

Is he dancing Gungam Style?
Having watched all excruciating 24 minutes of the video I feel cheated. There appears to be no recovered drone footage there. Just Iranian camera crew footage.
It's probably all more amusing if you speak Farsi. But were I an Iranian TV producer I could have reduced the segment to a still picture and this caption:
"If you've been within .25miles of this......get a new job quickly".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hd1Hl6mjqMM
Mercifully, someone trimmed 11 minutes from the original 24minute video.
But I've lost another 13 minutes of my life and seen the same 13 minutes of Iranian camera crew footage.
Whoever made the decision(s) to allow other countries to manufacture parts for our military equipment is one of the worst traitors to the US military and citizens in the US's history.
Are you a Leftenent or a Major? I think your commenting is costing me too, too much paper dollars
I don't suppose there is any chance of a 3rd "trojan horse virus" that they now have in their system.? I guess that stuff is really just for the movies...
Chris Knight on the Crossbow project? No, just a junker for them to reverse engineer and figure out nothing valuable.
Sovereign defense is so messy, why don't they give up their stupid undeserved land and resources and accept our price?
Iranians open up drone.
"Made in China."
Maybe the drone was a Trojan Horse - deliberately sent to infect Iranian security networks with Stuxnet and other goodies.
America Loves Hackadrone: Univerisity of Texas vs. Iran 8pm EST.
Seems very strange that we would be flying these things around carrying sensitive intel and technology without having absolute capability of self destructing them at will. It would seem reasonable to guess that it is a trojan horse or source of disinformation. But then again we should probably never underestimate the stupidity of our military and intelligence.

"Iran's, Iron Ayatollah"
great read by Scott Peterson
How odd that almost everyone seems fixated on who has the most explosive power and the most complex technology. There is a great equalizer out there that renders all our technology and explosive power meaningless - and you can be very sure that the Iranians among others are well aware of it. Two words. Biological warfare.
Dr. Fritz Haber was an intellectual colleague, and personal friend of Albert Einstein during his early years at the University. But, when Fritz joined up with the German biological warfare dept... Albert and Fritz parted ways!

I Wonder what these "experts" will said now: Nah, Iran Probably Didn’t Hack CIA’s Stealth Drone
As for Obama getting his toy back, he probably must have got it by now: http://rt.com/usa/news/iran-us-drone-obama-933/
Can't really blame the Iranian government for hating the US...what the US (CIA) pulled off there is beyond disgusting. Who would have thought that toppling a democratically elected leader would piss people off?
we hate them for their freedom... and a hi-yo, casus belli-laugh to you-- amerika!
