US To Use Drones In Chris Dorner Manhunt

Tyler Durden's picture

Update: this just in - Authorities offer $1 million reward for information leading to arrest of ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner

We were hoping to evade coverage of the latest mass distraction du jour, that of the former LAPD officer Chris Dorner who recently went rogue following a three man murder spree and who has vowed to kill again as per his 6,000 word manifesto, but the US government had made it impossible following confirmation
that the search for Dorner is now the first official drone-hunt in US history.

The Express reports:

Yesterday, as a task force of 125 officers, some riding Snowcats in the rugged terrain, continued their search, it was revealed that Dorner has become the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.

A senior police source said: “The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him. On the ground, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Asked directly if drones have already been deployed, Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, said: “We are using all the tools at our disposal.”

The use of drones was later confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed agents have been prepared for Dorner to make a dash for the Mexican border since his rampage began.

He said: “This agency has been at the forefront of domestic use of drones by law enforcement. That’s all I can say at the moment.”

And once Dorner is found by remote-control, it will be again up to drones to secure his "elimination." If for no other reason than to perform a ground test of just how the recently enacted drone-facilitated extermination of US citizens sits with various instances of the US judicial system.

One of my buddies is a state trooper and echoes 80-90% of your post.  To that, he plans to leave the force soon, for the private sector.  He's opening a gun shop.  Well, maybe.

Dear Mr. Burton, Imagine yourself as a L.A.P.D. officer for a moment.  You have served the public nobly; you always exercised good judgement in your daily encounters; and you feel good knowing that you have made an overall positive impact on most of those encounters over a long career.  Or maybe you are a recent hire with noble intentions and this shithead is going to eliminate simply because you wear the uniform.  What the fuck is the matter with most of you people tonight?

So... let me get this straight.

This guy gets fired IN 2007... 6 years ago...

And JUST NOW he's doing this? While there's a very important trial (that will probably go to the supreme court) on drones being used against Americans and on American soil???

And right now they are using drones to find this guy, painting the drones as ``good`` and ``protecting people``??

Seems to me the timing of all this is CONVENIENT don't you think??

I hope he is able to kill 100 - no, make that 1000 cops. Some of them will be good people - too bad. Most will be racist pigs - good riddance. May this guy be the first of many like him. I don't care what the media or the commenters here have to say - in my book he is a good man doing what needs to be done.

I don't see anyone stepping off their porch to help Droner out.  To quote one source: III

One thing I have not seen is a single person stepping off the porch, in Los Angeles or elsewhere, just because Dorner chose to do so.  Not one gang-banger or Patriot has invoked the Enemy of my Enemy philosophy to capitalize on circumstances on the ground.  If you step off the porch, don't expect anyone to follow, until it is in their personal self-interest to follow.

Dorner is wrong to kill people, and he will be punished appropriately, but desparate people do desparate things  -especially when their is a great injustuce done. People falsely accused of child molesting so the mother can keep the father from ever seeing his kids  sometimes do desparate things-that happens occasionally.

If those lousy scum bureaucratic politician cops had done their job, not screwed around with Dorner's life  -none of this would have happened. That's what appears to be what is going on here, although I don't know all the facts. You can tell from reading his manifesto that his hatred is motivated by a severe injustice.  I was a prosecutor in 2 major cities for 8 years. I know the type of scum bureaucratic politician types that permeate many police forces and prosecutor's offices. I was good. I and other really good cops spent far too much of my time fighting the "good guys " -the lazy donut eating coffee drinking bureaucrats who are good at writing traffic tickets and busting kids for smoking a joint  -but who couldn't investigate their way out of a paper bag and would'nt recognize a REAL  criminal if they bit them on their ass.

And another thing  -get those damned drones out of America- that's why we'll all need AR15s, bazookas and other high powered weapons  -to protect us from drone attacks when the psychos take over the government and start coming after us.

This is going to be like the Unabomber's manifesto - a very useful way to sort the lying web sources from the truthful, by observing who messes with it, and in what ways.

Apparently accurate copies:

  http://www.jimstonefreelance.com/        introduction
http://www.jimstonefreelance.com/police.pdf  The original manifesto (a pdf). This one has no crazed ravings, just a lot of angry determination and 'enough is enough'. Much more believable.

http://ktla.com/2013/02/07/read-christopher-dorners-so-called-manifesto/ A html, names-removed but otherwise similar copy.

An example of a massively altered version:

http://youranonnews.tumblr.com/post/42506354980/heres-an-uncensored-copy... Full of statist wet-dream rubbish, clearly intended to make Dorner look like a complete looney. Anti-gun rantings and celebrity obsession? Sure.

Incidentally, can anyone recommend a good freeware, Windows-compatible text difference analysis utility, with resyncing and able to ignore all white-space differences including line breaks?

For some reason every utility I try is unable to deal with text file pairs in which one file has linebreaks only at paragraphs, while the other file has hard-wrapped short lines. But otherwise similar content.

Here punks, I am done with this non issue:

http://dronewarsuk.wordpress.com/drone-crash-database/

also

It does not include crashes by mini-UAV’s like Raven and Scan Eagle as they crash so often it would swamp the database (see this report for the number of mini-UAV crashes mentioned in the Wikileaks War Logs)

They are junk, used to create a 'idea' of superiority.  A failing empire brings out the gadgets.

The Controllers are really burning the midnight oil lately in their developing police state. Looks like it's being fast tracked...which should worry everyone.

ZH has it spot on, they are using this as a test to see how the Judicial system will embrace it, which, with the right amount of cash in their pockets, they will.

Obviously, none of this is about keeping the public safe. The cops in this particular Event, must have watched too much tv as little fat kids, because they were

riding fast and furious through the halls of California shooting up 71 year old grammas, riding high on emotion, and looking like total idiots and crazed men.

After what we witnessed these last few days, do you think people like this should be operating drones overhead? Does it make you feel more secure?

Also, read up on the Congressional Unmanned Systems Caucus, sponsored by Reps McKeon and Cuellar. They have a government Website for this "Caucus" and

their mission statement admits the Caucus goal is to "educate the public and Congress on the strategic, tactical, and scientific value of unmanned systems". (propaganda).

What is surprising to me is the amount of people out there - even on mainstream media sites - that are either cheering openly for Dorner or beginning their comment with something like the following "While I don't condone violence ....".

Just my rough observations but I'd say 50% openly pro-Dorner, 45% hedging (the ones that say they don't condone violence but ...) And 5% pro-LAPD and/or law and order.

I cannot think of a better arguement for the second amendment than this guy. Only the police should be allowed to have firearms?

Ironically, all the major news magazines are refusing to report or discuss the second amendment implications that this guy was a big gun control advocate, supporter of Obama and Piers Morgan, etc., etc.

Then, finally, there is irony that this guy wants to clear his name for filing a false complaint by killing everyone including those who never even met him before, because his teacher swatted him when he was a kid for hitting another kid who called him a name.

OK, we cleared your name. You were wrongfully dismissed by your union. Now you can come back to work? We will just forget about the whole ambush thing if you promise not to do it again?
