Dorner's Last Stand - Live Webcast

Tyler Durden's picture

It appears that the authorities have finally caught up with the infamous LAPD vigilante, who is now engaged in a shoot out with the police in the Big Bear area. Follow his last stand at the following CBS newsfeed live. A separate stream from the inland CHP can be found here.

To those joining in now, here is what you've missed:

A person believed to be the fugitive ex-Los Angeles cop sought in three killings exchanged gunfire with authorities in the San Bernardino Mountains on Tuesday, a law-enforcement official said on condition of anonymity.

The officer requested anonymity because the officer was not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing investigation.

It's believed Christopher Dorner committed a residential burglary of a cabin where a couple was tied up, the officer said. One of the people was able to get away and make a call.

Authorities responded to the location and gave chase when the burglar fled in a stolen car. Gunfire was exchanged.

The area is in the Big Bear region where a search for Mr. Dorner has been under way since his pickup truck was found there Thursday.

A KCAL-TV reporter in the Angelus Oaks area along Highway 38 reported gunfire in his vicinity. The noise of the gunbattle was broadcast by the station, whose reporter suddenly found himself near the fight. Someone could be heard yelling at the reporter to get out of the area.

Road blocks are up around Big Bear.

His name was Christopher Dorner.

WTF? So CA Fish and Game wardens are now armed with 308 AR Platform. Is that in case of a chance encounter with a 'Terrist' AL CIAda 'Grizzly Bear'? I guess this is somewhat ironic... perhaps they need a bigger gun?

Just got on so this may have been commented on.

I urge all of you to read at least part of his manifesto. It does not justify his actions, but it does give one insight into the brutal gang-like nature of big city police departments.

SilverRhino's picture

I read the full unabridged section.   Have to admit that for the first time I really dont care which ones come out on top.

But I think they are going to call up a drone or light artillery before it's done.

EDIT:  I take it back, they're going to call the FBI/ATF and burn the fucking house down.

SilverRhino's picture

Some more thoughts ... supposedly they are going to bring up an armored vehicle.   If he has a 50BMG with API / AP rounds he'll kill it (and thus provide the feds everything they need to ban them)

He's in a house which is NOT armored and cops generally aren't carrying heavy 30 caliber rifles like a 30-06 / 300 WM / 300 RUM. Based on the gunfire and some of the noises it sounds like everyone's carrying 223 pipsqueak rounds.

He's toast.   Sounds like he didn't prepare enough.

MachoMan's picture

He had years to prepare...  hell, he didn't write the manifesto overnight either...  not sure why he went into a remote area that's easily shut down...  he'll have to move during the day or else all the FLIR on the helos/drones will get him...

My guess is that his preps just suck...

his operator skills seem to be decent...  he's definitely holding his own against the PD, but 2 idiots with AKs shut down LA not too long ago...  so, who knows.  He doesn't appear to be the most stable person so there's no telling whether he actually followed his preps or not...  I seriously doubt the cops did anything to change any of his plans...  or otherwise divert him.  So either his preps suck or he failed to follow them.

SilverRhino's picture

>>My guess is that his preps just suck...

Completely agree.   No explosives, no fougasse/mines, no heavy infantry weapons, no 50BMG employed.   He's fucked.

Love the video of the nasty black women carrying a crap 223.   Oh and the continual violations of the 4th Amendment, etc.   Cops are acting like a bloody occupying army on that mountain.

Or this is all just a staged event to advance an agenda.

NemoDeNovo's picture

Kinda Ironic this is going on with SOTU speecj tonigh in all.  Does this help or hurt Barry's speech?

Just sayin

seek's picture

If BO mentions this incident in the context of gun control during the speech, you'll know they thought it helps. And that the whole mess becomes very suspect due to timing.

Freddie's picture

This whole thing is psyops for gun control. Obummer will probably do a shout out to the guy who could be his son or younger brother but he is a fat a*s.

The only thing worse than Droner in CA is LA PD, LA, Hollywood, California and Obaumm-Amerika.

Bad Attitude's picture

Looks to me like his planning sucked. He may have been a good tactician, but his strategy sucked. If he was half as smart/skilled as he claimed, he would have planned to exit the Big Bear area fast (e.g. using a second vehicle) before law enforcement had a chance to isolate the area. Burning his truck was a good way of focusing the attention of the police, but that should have been a distraction, not to signal that he was nearby.

fonzannoon's picture

Unless this was planned by someone other than him....

SilverRhino's picture

And now TWENTY fucking miles away they have roadblocks in place and are searching all cars with drawn weapons.   WTF?   Someone takes a shot at some cops and they completely abridge everyone's rights in what is up to a 400 SQ mile area???

e_goldstein's picture

Bad day to make a choom delivery to the valley.

They have to prove that they're still bad asses.

PrintemDano's picture

For "the children" of course,  just like Waco....

Just Ice's picture

You nailed it with the burn it down...

SilverRhino's picture

And of course now the cabin is on fire and the cops are going to let it burn.   What a shock.

I'm amazed that "small government conservatives" seem to want to defend the huge police departments.

Is a police department's role to protect us?  Or to protect them from us?  Or just clean up the messes?

A. Magnus's picture

Big police = big government; anyone who hasn't figured that out by now deserves to be called a scumsucking commie pigfucking bastard in a modest effort to describe their level of ignorance and stupitidy...

MachoMan's picture

By their (our) very nature, small government conservatives have our world view because we have a pot to piss in and don't care for anyone else to piss in it...  enter the necessity of the police department...  to protect our pots.

The police department's job is to protect property rights...  that's it.  The more property you have, the more rights you have to protect...

adr's picture

I'm a small government conservative and I hate the fucking police. If a crazed gunman took out the entire building of psychopaths from the town I grew up in, I would throw a party and buy a $500 bottle of chapagne for the occasion.

Cities need one sheriff and a well armed population of upstanding citizens.

My three year old son wanted to say hello to a police officer in my town, he was walking up to the pig and the asshole told me to grab my kid and get out of his fucking way. I would have beat the living shit out of the asshole but I want my kid to grow up with a father.

If things really do go downhill the first thing m and my neighbors will do is take out the cops. They will be the enemy as much as the roaming gangs of cannibal blacks from the ghetto.

MachoMan's picture

Obviously anything in excess, especially police power (which we presently have an abundance of), can be harmful.  We can debate the optimal level of police presence, but objectively I think it's somewhere substantially less than our current level.  However, SOME law enforcement is necessary to optimally effectuate property rights.

and take their weapons.

overmedicatedundersexed's picture

the most important question of the whole episode: how will the broke ass state of california pay for this police action? seems money is no problem. the banks support our police state from dc war making to the fascist police across the fruited plain.

MachoMan's picture

A road or railway to nowhere is my first guess...

Taffy Lewis's picture

At "The They": you are correct.

One quote and the theme of the Manifesto: "The enemy combatants in LA are not the citizens and suspects, it's the police officers."

Sometimes I tune to Rush during my workout mid-day to get a good chuckle, but he is more off-base on this than anything else he has ever talked about. He couldn't be more wrong about this situation.

BeaverFever's picture

How many people truly read his manifesto? It was written by many people. One minute he is seeks vengeance and the other he praises gun control and Chubacca's new bangs? Get real. The man might not even be in the cabin. He could have been killed a long time ago and this is one big psy ops to gauge our reaction to his murder. Nothing is real anymore.

interesting his spelling is consistently right then consistently wrong in different paragraphs, adds to likelihood he didnt write it/write it all

Watch the's much better then Balloon Boy. The reporters are begging the cops to drag it out as long as piossible, at least until the 10 0'clock news. They need to lift their ratings.

They are calling for back-up...F16s are being flown in...Perhaps Panetta will even show up...who knows...I'll read all about it in The Onion tomorrow.
