All Hope And Change Roads Lead To Greece

Tyler Durden's picture

Who says Barron's covers are only good for timing contrarian market inflection points to the millisecond? In this specific case, we learn that all hope and change roads (soon to be de-potholed following another trillion in road renewal stimulus, aka ARRA 2.0, spent shortly and paying a minimum wage of $9.00 to the depotholers) lead to, where else, Athens, Greece.

Meanwhile in Greece, free food for everyone!

<<The problem is USPS is overstaffed with govt unionized employees that cannot be fired. Like any large organization, about 95% there work pretty hard and do nothing. Lots of Hope and Change there.>>

There, fixed it. X*0 is still 0.

Actually, shipment via first class USPS international, non flat rate mail has more than doubled.

For example, prior to the increase, a 3 ounce padded envelope and contents (9.5 X 7.5 inches) to Canada was about 3.25 USD to ship, now it is 7.35 USD. The same 3 ounce package  to the UK once cost 4.50 USD and is now 9.45 USD.

Not quite the 1 cent rate increased as advertised.

The consistency between the U.S.S.A. and Greece is central banks colluding with private banks to offload private levered debt derivatives onto the public while stealing their industry and punishing individual saving and responsibility.

Until that morally bankrupt socially corrosive cabal of hyenas are put down every Western nation is Greece.

Minimum wage hikes are mere subsidies to Big Businesses where folks in that bracket go to shop.

Similar to the 'housing bailout" which was nothing more then a Bailout/subsidy to Bankers and the NAR crowd.

To be a Greece, you need a US.

So who will play the US part to turn the US into Greece?

From that simple, down to earth question, one sees the US can not follow the path of Greece.

As usual, more cheap propaganda by 'american' news outlets.

But if it makes sales, anything goes.

'American' economics is all about consumption.

The clip that you have labelled "Meanwhile in Greece, free food for everyone!"  is actually free food distributed by farmers to residents of Athens who are at a food distribution centre. The number of homeless people in Athens is rising, and the number of people eating at charitable institutions is at record highs.

It's really sad that you interpret a charitable gesture by the private sector with this kind of snide comment.

I'd like to say I'm surprised you stoop so low, but your repeated denigration and misinterpretation of events and data from Greece tells me I shouldn't be.

Barron's!  LOL.   This comic book has been consistenly wrong with every single prediction and every piece of investment advice for years.  It's the same publication that's been warning about imminent runaway inflation and soaring interest rates for more than five years.   Last time I checked interest rates and inflation were near historical lows.

The remarkable thing is that people continue to read - and believe-  this ass-wipe of a mag - despite it being consistently and repetedly wrong.

I can only imagine the terrible investment returns by those who actually take this shit seriously.
