Al-Qaeda's 22 Tips For Evading Drones

Tyler Durden's picture

This document is one of several found by The Associated Press in buildings recently occupied by Al-Qaeda fighters in Timbuktu, Mali. Written by Abdullah bin Mohammed, apparently with God’s help, with the goal "of disabling the new strategy of the American army at the medium or long-range levels," through three methods: the formation of a public opinion to stand against the attacks, deterring of spies, and tactics of deception and blurring. These 22 tactics are as follows...

  1. It is possible to know the intention and the mission of the drone by using the Russian-made “sky grabber” device to infiltrate the drone’s waves and the frequencies. The device is available in the market for $2,595 and the one who operates it should be a computer-know-how.
  2. Using devices that broadcast frequencies or pack of frequencies to disconnect the contacts and confuse the frequencies used to control the drone. The Mujahideen have had successful experiments using the Russian-made “Racal.”
  3. Spreading the reflective pieces of glass on a car or on the roof of the building.
  4. Placing a group of skilled snipers to hunt the drone, especially the reconnaissance ones because they fly low, about six kilometers or less.
  5. Jamming of and confusing of electronic communication using the ordinary water-lifting dynamo fitted with a 30-meter copper pole.
  6. Jamming of and confusing of electronic communication using old equipment and keeping them 24-hour running because of their strong frequencies and it is possible using simple ideas of deception of equipment to attract the electronic waves devices similar to that used by the Yugoslav army when they used the microwave (oven) in attracting and confusing the NATO missiles fitted with electromagnetic searching devices.
  7. Using general confusion methods and not to use permanent headquarters.
  8. Discovering the presence of a drone through well-placed reconnaissance networks and to warn all the formations to halt any movement in the area.
  9. To hide from being directly or indirectly spotted, especially at night.
  10. To hide under thick trees because they are the best cover against the planes.
  11. To stay in places unlit by the sun such as the shadows of the buildings or the trees.
  12. Maintain complete silence of all wireless contacts.
  13. Disembark of vehicles and keep away from them especially when being chased or during combat.
  14. To deceive the drone by entering places of multiple entrances and exits.
  15. Using underground shelters because the missiles fired by these planes are usually of the fragmented anti-personnel and not anti-buildings type.
  16. To avoid gathering in open areas and in urgent cases, use building of multiple doors or exits.
  17. Forming anti-spies groups to look for spies and agents.
  18. Formation of fake gatherings such as using dolls and statutes to be placed outside false ditches to mislead the enemy.
  19. When discovering that a drone is after a car, leave the car immediately and everyone should go in different direction because the planes are unable to get after everyone.
  20. Using natural barricades like forests and caves when there is an urgent need for training or gathering.
  21. In frequently targeted areas, use smoke as cover by burning tires.
  22. As for the leaders or those sought after, they should not use communications equipment because the enemy usually keeps a voice tag through which they can identify the speaking person and then locate him.

In case there are any other tactics or deterring means, please add them here so that the benefit will be wider and I pray to God to save us from the American intrigues and turn these intrigues against them.

Written by Abdullah bin Mohammed

The sad thing is I bet they do entrap some stupid bastards with this piece. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of them on all sides of the fence these days.

Here, look.  This is a broadcast antenna:

http://fmbroadcastantenna.com/6meter.html

Looks kinda like a long metal rod, doesn't it?  Magnesium alloy rather than copper, but hey.  Power it up and you are throwing signal.

What to do with the signal?  Well it takes some training...but the possibilities....check out this note on GPS jamming

http://www.novatel.com/gajt/gps-jamming/

So, whatever, it's kind of hobby stuff until the ordinance starts flying, eh?

If you replace your spark plug wires (shielded) with plain wire, you've just made a simple radio jammer.  The concept of emitting competeing signal is pretty simple, it's just the intellegent implementation that's difficult because you are lit up light a Christmas Tree when it's on.

Unless you could utilize existing infrastructure for your antenna (pipes, power poles, etc.) it's going to be tough to use something like this when you'd actually "need to."

Obviously, jamming drones is an entireley different matter (they probably use an encrypted digital signal that rotates, etc) since Iran has only been able to bring down one - and they have pretty heavy duty resources.

The dumb fucks at AssoCIAted Press are always a day late, dollar short. Once they woke up this morning & rubbed the sandman crust from their eyes. AP reporters bee lined to pick up a copy of the NYT’s. After flipping to the back newspaper pages, eureka stuck.

Stuart, take a deep breath. It’s merely comedy. Nothing less or more. During Iraq/Afghanistan war [now a media blackout], AssoCIAted Mess would regurgitate the same models killed in a span of 2-4 weeks. It was quite humorous if you were aware of the mindset programming agenda involved.

Some of those suggestions do have some grains of truth to them. When you write about what you know a little truthiness tends to slip in either on purpose to try to make it sound credible or on accident. Either way they get a D for creative writing.

I wonder if the right kind of laser could fuck up the optical sensors.  Might need to put in concentric salt lenses or something.

Jim: I recall hearing on the radio news about 2-3 years ago some kids were caught using cheap laser pointers similar to what their teachers used during classroom presentations to point at jets landing & taking off from wherever their local airport was. Pilots were complaining of being temporarily blinded. I would guess a laser would have similar effects on drone optics?

This is pretty funny. Reminds me of both of the 'obama' birth certificates. These assclowns are seriously cocky anymore. Hubris will crash and burn, it's just to bad that so few will learn much from it. Really is wierd. Supposedly humans are so smart. If you look at the evidence though that is clearly a false belief. As a 'species' we are fucking inbred acting ( look at the planner class), have no effective collective memory, consistently repeat the same fucking mistakes over and over and over.

Timbukto at just the same time as our Nobel 'peace prize' 'winning':) maggot playing 'president' and the associated with globalist press 'finds' some fucking coloring book with the evildoers color crayon marks in it and then the unicorn showed up and after spending some time with Mylee cyprus, decided to swear in Barack Biden Deborah W. Hillary bush as our next supreme leader of ward 11.

No wonder so many people decide to just look the other way.

I have to say maybe someone is having a little fun with this disinformation over there.

Look at it from this perspective.

Certain 3 letter agencies probably have set up online sites for the most paranoid and guilible of the tinfoil hat crowd to go and buy these devices or download plans to make them. This way they can find out who they really are. And while you are at it they hope you get one of those lulsec people or other troublesome computer people to help out with working the thing. Like a 2 for 1 deal.

And then they even tip you off these are the people they are targeting by line 3

3. Spreading the reflective pieces of glass on a car or on the roof of the building.

What is reflective that you wear on your head when you are paranoid and anti-government..... tinfoil

The rest are either more subtle digs or bs that they think these people would actually believe are effective methods to avoid being droned.

Looks like the low brow fringe tinfoil hat patriot crowd is getting under their skin.

it all sounds pretty reasonable to me. what i didn't know was that the drone warhead was a cluster bomb. (do i disrespect POTUS more, no not possible) and second the strategy of a low level drone to spot for the drone carrying the attack weapon at a higher altitude, but it makes sense, and almost sounds like the SAM missile strategy in NAM, which was to lure pilots into diving at the missiles until they were at such a low altitude that they came under converntional AA fire. (take out the recon spotters)  burning tires is cleary a violation of the clean air act. but we've learned a lot from Al-Qaida, first thing being the global bankers are a bunch of scum. oh wait not anyone in WTC on 9/11, sorry. i just mean all those other guys.

Oh yeah, all that technology on a nebulous tether being pushed by a propeller.

One stolen by the Iranians, and obviously the Russians are onto defeating it.

I'd bet the Chinese are already selling a surface to air missile that hones in on the frequency of the tether or just the Hertz sound frequency (signature) of the engine/propeller.

Dear Abdullah:  Leveraging my Starfleet Academy training, I can think of ways to deal with your problem.

1. My favorite method is to use them for target practice on my ship's phasers.  I'd have Lt. Sulu shoot them, but he's against destroying phalic objects that shoot.  So I have Chekhov do it.  He loves it.

2. Blind them.

3.  I have a pretty good idea who does the Comm (Rxxxxxxl Cxxxxxs in Iowa?), and I'm certain that it's immune to your jamming.  As for the Optics and its dome... that's done by... U_C?.

/Is it Sequester Season?  Time to justify budgets, jobs, 401k's, and whole careers at the TLA (Three-Letter Acronym) agencies?  TLA X: "...Well, we'd better hang out idiot-bait-stories on ZH then.  Troll for some retards to hang and parade on the MSM.  The MSM bitches love getting their ratings juiced by us anyway." /sarc

Here is a good tips:  Wear an emergency blanket!  If you don't want to look weird, then apply the emergency blanket inside your coat, gloves and hat.

Drone uses infrared light to look for targets during the night because our body produces a good among of heat.  The blanket will reflect the infrared radiation toward your body instead of toward their sensors.

Cloud cover should effectively blind any drones ... unless they fly beneath it; which may involve flying low.

I think the best way to tackle any such problem is to regard it as part of a system.   A drone requires someone to design, build and maintain it. It needs pilots and a host of support personnel.  Yet others create the cameras, weapons and engines. This creates a massive system, which absolutely must be riddled with weak points.

So, perhaps the only effective defence against drones ... is to take the fight to America. Ironic, really.

The same process can (and surely will) be applied to the BATFE and whomever else decides to bash down your doors, kill your dog and seize your firearms.  When they are on the doorstep, they are strong and difficult to resist, but they are part of a vulnerable system.
