Ron Paul: "When They Came For The Raw Milk Drinkers…"

From Ron Paul

When They Came For The Raw Milk Drinkers…

While I oppose most gun control proposals, there is one group of Americans I do believe should be disarmed: federal agents. The use of force by federal agents to enforce unjust and unconstitutional laws is one of the major, albeit overlooked, threats to liberty. Too often Americans are victimized by government force simply for engaging in commercial transactions disproved of by Congress and the federal bureaucracy.

For example, the offices of Rawesome Foods in Venice, California, have been repeatedly raided by armed federal and state agents, and Rawesome’s founder, 65-year old James Stewart, has been imprisoned. What heinous crime justified this action? Rawesome sold unpasteurized (raw) milk and cheese to willing customers – in a state where raw milk is legal! You cannot even drink milk from a cow without a federal permit!

This is hardly the only case of federal agents using force against those who would dare meet consumer demand for raw milk. In 2011 armed agents of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) raided the business of Pennsylvanian Amish farmer Dan Allgyer. Federal agents wasted a whole year and who knows how many millions of our tax dollars posing as customers in order to stop Allgyer from selling his raw milk to willing customers.

The use of force against individuals making choices not approved of by the political elite does not just stop with raw milk. The Natural News website has documented numerous accounts of federal persecution, including armed raids, of health food stores and alternative medical practitioners.

Federal bureaucrats are also using force to crack down on the makers of gold coins for fear that people may use these coins as an alternative to the Federal Reserve’s fiat currency. Bernard von NotHaus, the founder of Liberty Dollars, is currently awaiting sentencing on federal counterfeiting charges — even though Mr. von NotHaus took steps to ensure his coins where not used as “legal tender.”

Yet, the federal government was so concerned over the possibility that Mr. von NotHaus’s customers might use his coins in regular day-to-day commerce they actually labeled Mr. von NotHaus a “terrorist.”

These type of police state tactics used against, among others, raw milk producers, alternative health providers, and gold coin dealers is justified by the paternalistic attitude common in Washington, D.C. A member of Congress actually once told me that, “The people need these types of laws because they do not know what is good for them.” This mindset fuels the growth of the nanny state and inevitably leads to what C.S. Lewis said may be the worst from of tyranny “…a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims.”

All Americans, even if they do not believe it is a wise choice to drink raw milk or use gold coins, should be concerned about the use of force to limit our choices. This is because there is no limiting principle to the idea that the government force is justified if used “for our own good.” Today it is those who sell raw milk who are being victimized by government force, tomorrow it could be those who sell soda pop or Styrofoam cups. Therefore, all Americans should speak out against these injustices.

I'm an adult, and this is an adult "webpage". I don't drink milk, yet you have the audacity to junk me over your pathetic way of thinking? You heathen/

Listen people. I was being facetious. Of course people have different opinions. When people want to dictate the opinions of others, In the name of liberalism/socialism. I have a problem.

The good news is that grants and liberal funds are drying out. We are bankrupt. It's time to get a !/@art job folks.

I lost mine in a boating accident.  First the rope snapped on the silver bag anchor, and then, the jug of milk floated off too.Never trust a pet goat with your stash of rope.  I'm claiming a deduction  on my expenses for valuable research into survivalist hobbies.

Check out the milk map of Italy.

Also in France raw milk can be purchased out of a vending machine in grocery stores.

The US gov't is doing everything it can to protect big ag and pharma companies to the detriment of the citizens.

Blooming idiot has banned 2 liter bottles of soft drinks which in the case of hurricane Sandy situations are an excellent way to buy bottled water. Since that was so recent , you might think he considered that govt. can not plan for natural or any other disaster.

More reason for people everywhere to make the noble choice. The fire thing just doesn't cut it any longer. Mass protest. Throw your iSlave devices in the toilet.

Remember, the money paid to these government thugs is counted as part of GDP.  The more money spent on government thugs to harass and attack ordinary citizens, including those making and selling real products, the higher the government's reported "GDP" figure.

Look people, I have a nice life. I care about more then myself. I care about freedom. I can't believe people are allowing cop shops to destroy houses because a kid is messed up. Last weekend My mother linked 100 patrol cars to a call in San Diego.

We are paying too much for law enforcement, or law enforcement isn't protecting the people! How can you have 100 cars( at a situation) and guarentee protection for the comunitee! I.m downsizing this bullshit!

In San Luis Obispo county they've already come for our plastic bags. A store faces draconian fines if they give you a plastic bag to put your purchases in.

Get the government off your back, but use the power of the people to enforce the rules of what is our ethos. First, we have to spell out what it is. Are we the proponents of the selfishness gene, Randian blinded bats, who can only navigate to the sound of Rush Limbaugh's voice. Or are we truly enlightened souls who knows where we want to go. We haven't articulated that yet. More the pity. I would rule for evolution rather than the lizard brain. But if fear and kowtowing to the ones who already have it all, is your game, heck, you should have been here to cheer for the British occupation! Or the Southern Confederacy! Grow up. Be here. Fight for what you think should be. We're letting it slip away, what is wrong with you people? It has to be local first, why are you letting them vote these assholes into office? Ron Paul made a mistake letting his son Rand Paul run. Most times I have to check which Paul is behind an endeavor. If it's the son, fuggedaboutit. Don't worry so much about what happens on the national scene. It's easier to control on the county/city level. Get with it.

If the State did not regulate then guess what - you could light our rivers with a match - you'd be drinking water fouled with dioxin (well since fracking is exempt from the Clean Water Act you probably already are) - you'd be breathing toxic smog (see Beijing) - you'd be feeding your babies formula laced with chemicals (see China)

Etcetera - etcetera - etcetera

So once again FUCK OFF WITH THIS SHIT!!!

Temporalist's picture

There is a far stretch between banning something humans have been practicing for most of their existence and prohibiting industries from dumping toxic waste in rivers or polluting the air.

I hope you learn the hard way and have the state's "child protective services" take away your child because you refused to give your kid the mandated medication like this woman.  You sound like the type that would just hand over your kid if the state asked for it without even giving a reason:

Or maybe you'll have a neighbor who you piss off accuse you of child abuse and they'll lock you up without any proof.

I hope you send me a postcard from prison.

As screwed up as people say CA is, it's one of the few states where you can actually buy raw milk in local grocery stores.  The CA dept. of ag tried to take this right away from calfornians and they fought it tooth and nail.  Godbless Claravale farms and Mark McAfee of Oragnic Pastures.  People wann idolize dumbshits like Kobe Bryant and tits like Matt Damon......but the REAL heroes of society are guys like Mark!  Read his story and you'll understand.  He's spent THOUSANDS in legal fees fighting to keep the right to drink raw milk in CA.  Even when Whole Foods sold out and quit carrying raw milk.

Miffed Microbiologist's picture

Mark is my friend. Wonderful bear of a man! He has gone through bloody hell but keeps on fighting. A true patriot of our times. Glad to see others recognize this. Claravale is another raw all Jersey dairy that our local health food store stocks. Whole foods wimped out and quit carrying due to " liability" reasons. I rarely shop there any more because of it.

I wonder what happens to these representatives after they are voted in. Are they being blackmailed/ threatened/brainwashed  to toe someone else's line?

Now the wife knows why I still sleep with a service pistol even tho I am no longer in a war zone.

Lake City,  I have slept with a M-1 carbine under my bedside for the last 3 decades. Of course I was a friend of Leonhard Peltier and Pedro Bissonette from the 70's occupation of Wounded Knee. That incident where 6 Federal Goons gunned Pedro down on a back road on the Pine Ridge reservation while he was trying to visit his dying grandmother. Just google the name and start reading.

On the milk thing, my old man had me milking a cow, BY HAND, since I was 10 years old, drank the stuff and hated looks of it with patches of cream floating around on top. My grandmother made homemade butter with the cream as well as REAL homemade ice cream. While in my 20's I looked back with disdade on those days, but now realise my WW2 and Korean War vet old man was a terrorist!

He is stll alive at 86 and still a out spoken critic. He raved against the Iraq War when it was not popular, damn near had my whacko sister in law (radical Repub and Bush supporter) throw him out of the house due to criticism of Bush.

When I take him to a Dr visit, I alway put his Korean War Vet hat on him. he gets so many questions from the young nurses and Doctors, he advises them that their is nothing more miserable as the cold of Korea and blood on snow when it is yours.

Ron Paul is spot on.

Nanny-statism is not new in the UK. Let's be clear about what it is: it is group of thugs who have given themselves powers to enforce their will on to the general population, simply to engineer society into a model they prefer and to remind us all of who is in charge.

In the UK it began in earnest under the fascist Tony Blair and his cronies in 1997 and has gathered pace since then. A coupla examples from many:

- it is now unlawful in the UK for any cigarette vendor to have them on display..."think of the kids" is the argument used by the socialist political filth. In a typical supermarket, the shelves now have to be enclosed by doors so nobody can see cigarettes for sale. Anger breaks out when a customer waits in line for 5-10 mins on a busy day only to be told that the particular brand he wants is out of stock. Previously he was able to see if they were not on the shelf and he didn't waste his time waiting in line.

- at least one London socialist town hall has prohibited residents of public housing from smoking in their own homes. And moves are underway to prohibit smoking inside motor cars even if the driver/smoker is the only occupant. Apparently, it leaves something bad behind which might injure the health of future passengers, particularly kids. It matters not whether you actually have kids.

- only this weekend, we have a group of NHS doctors (increasingly socialist health fascists) publicly calling for a new tax on fizzy pop which contains sugar, which of course includes Coke and all the others.

It is certainly the case that these fascist policies are just the beginning.  This article from Brandon Smith on his blog sets it all out:

No. Man is free willed but people are not born equal.

Some run faster but others are better to take crucial decisions.

It matters the most that people who are the most gifted in taking decisions rule those who are not gifted.

People are not born equal. Some run faster, some are better at killing people etc

As Americans, we have accepted this natural fact a long time ago. Since day one actually, the hallowed 4 July, 1776.

Some people are naturally better at freedom than others. Some are also naturally better at anticipating the future and making sound decisions.

We live by meritocratic standards. Rulers rule because they are naturally the best at ruling.

Now we Americans are also charitable souls. We are naturally more charitable than other people. That is why we cant let people do choices that we know are going to cripple their life.

That idiot thought it was good to drink unpasteurized milk. It is then natural that Americans who are naturally better at seeing risks and managing them told this idiot of his mistake.

A ruler can not pretend ruling if he does not make those kind of decisions for Americans who can not get that decision right.

There is no doubt that this American has his own talent: milking cows. Every one is born with a certain kind of talent.

But he must accept that he is not naturally gifted for taking relevant decisions about his life, as shown when he drank unpasteurized milk.

This is why America is great. The best do what they do best.

Let's that American milk his cows, I say. And let Americans able to govern his life govern his life.

This is how We The People have decided things to be.

Signed: an American.

All one has to do with raw milk is bring it to a boil for one minute and then it is pasturized. The only reason they pasturized milk was for ANTRAX. I grw up in eastern Colorado where antrax was problem when the weather was right for it to multily, then the cow, while eating short grass, breathed it into the lungs and contracted it.

I grew up milking a cow and drinking raw milk, my Dad has thecow tested every year for anthrax by the local vet, that was easier than boiling the milk!!

Dumb ass Feds, one and all!

1 in 4 Americans have more credit card debt than savings

The survey found that only about 55 percent of Americans have more emergency savings than credit card debt. About 16 percent had none of each, and the rest either didn’t know or wouldn’t answer.
