I would like to extend my thoughts by saying that - in my opinion there is no political solution to our problem. So forget about parties, delegates, etc. Imagine that current system is broken and total chaos is in the streets. Elite is in their underground cities & dringing wine waitting the time when all of us will be so desparte that will accept any kind of system that will bring some rule of law. Of course it will be oligarh tyranny - but you will accepte it.
So this system will brake down, it's created to brreak down. Only thing is what will come after it. Well, if you stand still and think there is political solution than you are not prepared for that day of chaos at all. So if you manage to at least know your neigbors and create connection with them - it will be at least some plus for your community not to break down when system will collapse. But if you are not doing that - then it will be much much harder to do. Of course it is possible - but there is great risk in failing to achieve that.
But today you can do this task already - you can live in this system that will collapse and do some homework to prepare your self and community around you for next system you want to live. Or else you will be divided by each other and brought to oligarh tyranny.
People would like to see that some one will save them - maybe that is why hollywood is producing so many films with such motive - but there won't be any saviour - only you and your commmunity can save your self.

ARs aren't for taking out drones (at least not the UAV type). Drones are going to have be defeated by either taking out the operators/maintenance personnel, interupting the spare parts/manufacturing chain, jamming their control signal, or blinding their optics with a laser. We see 200,000 people in a city of 8 million in Egypt protesting in the street and the wolrd proclaims Mubarak must go! What would happen if we had similar protests in this country. Homeland security has lots of ammo for just such uprisings. Would those protestors been seen as freedom lovers or subversive elements seeking to overthrow the government. Enemy combatants.

Please define "combat". Please clarify the situation regarding foreign visitors on US soil. Please explain whether or not property is targetable. Please clarify whether these rules apply to all drone operators or only those under direct Presidential authority. Please clarify whether or not people other than the President have the authority to kill by drone. Please justify why any drone should be weaponized, in any way, while in US airspace or, for that matter, while in the airspace of any region in the world that is not at war with the USA.

The real question is - does anyone, under any circumstances, have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill anyone on American soil and if so, who has the authority, and who can give them that authority, and under what circumstances can they be given that authority?

This is logic 101, by linking his authority to an abstract term, he can one, avoid a challenge to the rule that extraordinary circumstances exist. Such a discussion would be only conjecture, but Congress has an obligation to define the term as it applies to Presidential power, within the checks and balances of the Constitution.
The term really means nothing. A straightforward response would have been to recognize the Constitution as the guiding principle.
Should the Congress seek to define this definition, the President's lawyers would have to present some concrete definitions. Otherwise the term as written belongs to him, and he will employ the "extraordinary circumstances" argument as legal precendent, [he has established the authority, and in that event Congress would have to challenge that authority. Should they challenge it now, the President's lawyers would delay and obfuscate, then withdraw their statement, only to reintroduce it later with another semantic trigger] While Congress should block this move, you can see why they are reluctant to do so. If the filibustering Senator from KY wants to make a name for himself, he should forget the movie star tricks and follow this legal manuever wherever it takes him.
