Palladium Bucks Precious Metal Trend - Hits 18-Month High
While gold, silver, and platinum remain held in ranges, it appears China's NDRC comments on carbon emissions and improved energy efficiency have been taken seriously enough to drive Palladium prices to 18 month highs (and notably divergent from the rest of the PM group). Palladium is now up more than twice the 215% gain in gold since Lehman and leads the PMs.

You must be Asian.... it's pronounced "election".
I don’t understand..
Can’t Obama just stuff paper palladium into his Government Motor’s catalytic converters?
Or maybe he can just cut down on buying them for the fed fleet and financing them for the sheep.
There most likely is one more monetary expansion before the fiat implodes. I think it is March 2013 to August 2013.
Yes that is right, this will be a short lived expansion, so get your finances in order and sell your shit to the Muppets.
It could be June/December, whatever it will be short lived, trust me.
Take advantage, dumb the house, stocks, and get into physical metals, farms, shit that will ride out inflation or deflation.
These monetary expansions are like labor contractions, they get shorter and shorter as time moves forward. We are entering one now.

Palladium is an interesting metal. But, I would only buy it (as PM diversification) after I bought Au, Ag, and Pt first. It can be used as a vehicle catalyst in SOME cases where Pt is used, but not all (not with diesel engines I read a while back).
Physical ownership only.
Disclosure: I have a tiny physical amount of Pd.

I traded Ag for some Russian ballerinas at 22:1
(not so very long ago)
Same LCS will trade me back now at 28:1
Think I'll get my orginal Ag oz's back and call the remaining Pd profit.
you said it, brother

Don't have to. All they gotta do is to claim it's a result of GM's (et al.) "recovery."
Speaking of recovery, when are the catalytic converter harvesters going to figure out that channel-stuffing has created nice concentrations of product in unguarded satellite lots (a.k.a. empty strip mall/restauraunt/big box store parking lots)? There isn't a dealer in town without at least one extra lot per location.
If someone did enough due diligence, I bet they could clean a lot out overnight.
Canary in the coal mine takes some steroids.
Boy was I a dummy. I bought (then subsequently lost) a bunch of silver as the canary in the coalmine.
Turns out the canary in the tailpipe was the right way to go.
If it is rare, valuable, durable, and you can carry it around or put in your closet, it is money. Corn is not money. It is a commodity that rots and has storage issues. PMs are money and always have been money. They are all good. But I think gold and silver are still the way to go for reasons of "tradition".
Lead, copper, and brass units....the BEST performing precious metals of them all!
Something wrong here. Palladium is primarily used for catalytic convertors. If the demand is truely coming from China you should see a corrospoding increase in the price of zinc as they produce better cars - this is not the case in fact opposite. So you use $500 worth of palladium on a car that will rust out in a couple of years? Looks like the rare-earth speculation several years ago.
A rusty car is better, holes make it fall apart. Then they will sell the peon a new car and use more exotic metal.
Cool man, but it's still paper.
I wouldn't know palladium if it hit me in the face. It could be green for all I know.
All I know is the 1000 rnds of .223 I paid $350 for last year will fetch around $1,000 now.....that's performance.
i bought some plaladium when it was $250, but its stuck in my e-gold account and the FEDS wont let me have it.
Simple. Palladium isn't a focus of manipulation.
Stand by, 10,000,000 palladium contracts being sold this evening.
Cold Fusion, bitches
Can't be. If so, the price of paper cups would be going parabolic.
I have been buying platinum koalas for 6 months. https://store.nwtmint.com/product_details/2342/Platinum_Koala_Coin/
I've done well on that acquistion. I hope platinum drops more so I can average in. Right now I like xag even more than xau. Better risk reward.
the whole of the action in the phony paper futures market for the only 2 forms of real moeny continue to be a fucking joke...just look at the charts for today...all that effort just to try to keep Gold below 1600, and Silver trapped below 29....
yeah, ok....

It must be all those JPM Palladium Credit Cards they've been issuing...you only need $30m and a private banking account at JPM to qualify.
Pd is so yesterday, Rh (Rhodium) is where you want to invest. Of course don't ignore Osmium (Os) or Iridium (Ir). You can use them to hydrogenate just about anything even while they increase in value (refine your own crude). They are are king of catalysts.
I am the only one I know who owns Osmium, a 1 troy oz pellet. Wikipedia says that only about 2000 oz of Osmium are used in the USA each year. It is the:
RAREST stable element (non-radioactive)
and ths
DENSEST non-radioactive metal.
DoChen, where did you buy that osmium?
I have always been curious about the potential availability of osmium, rhodium and iridium bullion, but have only recently (in the last few months) seen rhodium bars become available, but have NEVER seen anything similar from osmium or iridium.

I used to work in the music business in the 90s, and once saw a gig by a heavy metal band called Osmium...
Cool story, bro.
BHO, "Gotta spread that palladium around a little bit, let everybody get their fair share of it. We need a balanced approach. Can the FED print palladium?"
I am having a sadness. Many people become angry people when they are hearing the words people are saying and are not liking the words those peoples are saying. It is making them have angry at the peoples instead of having angries at the true words they are speaking. Many peoples who are reading what the speaking is here on Zero Hedge is speaking do not want to hear words if they are words they do not like. You will be having knowing about what words they are not liking because when they are expressing the words in their own minds the words they are using are words that are making people have bad sounds in their ears. Words that are having letters that begin with "F" is a word like the words I am describing that is used many times. In other places many words have been spoken about gold and gold is what makes many many people have the most angries. A man who was trying to have speaking that was different from the people whose speaking always was to be telling us that gold was going to be $2000 in a time that was soon always made people the most angry. People who were not stupids could be having words to say about the man who was speaking things they did want to hear by saying with their own speaking why the things he was saying were wrong words he was saying but instead people who are stupids were having mean things to say about the man instead of challenging his words with words that made his words wrong. The man would be telling about the things in India or China that made the ideas that $2000 gold was tomorrow sound silly and wrong but nobody is having the smarts to challenge his information so instead he was attacked with words that began with the letter "F". So it is having me be with much sadness because Jon Nadler is no longer a man who is speaking words for us to consider. I will be seeing many bad words soon.
I am being the most habby among all the beobles in wanding to be delling do you for you do be fugging yourself.
SOrry Nadler got fired...He was a stinkin bum....

Where is good propaganda?
That is indeed that. Somehow it is very something.
Worst in this story is the topic was not knowledge per se but mere observations. Adapt on an imperative mode suggests economic decisions to implement the formula as an active phenonemum.
Fucken A, bubba, you know it. If you feel you did not get your share of the loot, a very possible situation, write to your lawyer, phone your congressman with the simple message "where is my share of the loot?"
