Guest Post: In Just The Last Week In The Land Of The Free...

Tyler Durden's picture

From Simon Black, author of Sovereign Man

Last Week In The Land Of The Free

It's a pretty sad state of affairs in the Land of the Free when they have to pass a law making it illegal for the government to assassinate its own citizens.

Yet that's exactly what's happening.

Late last week, US Senator Ted Cruz introduced Senate bill S.505, "A bill to prohibit the use of drones to kill citizens of the United States within the United States."

More than likely, this bill isn't going to go anywhere. It'll get shuffled around to various committees and be largely forgotten. But the fact that it was introduced shows just how far things have fallen in the US.

Again, do they really have to create a law to prevent the government from killing its own people?

Curiously, it's interesting that this particular legislation stops at outlawing the assassination of US citizens on US soil... as if the Griswolds on their European vacation are acceptable targets...

Or that the bill specifically prohibits using drones to kill US citizens... but nothing else.

This is really amazing. But it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Also last week, for example, Senator Dianne Feinstein from California introduced S.482, a bill "to provide protections for consumers against excessive, unjustified, or unfairly discriminatory increases in premium rates."

This sounds mysteriously like a form of price controls.

Then there was H.R. 307, the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act of 2013. This 37-page bill awards the government with all sorts of additional powers in the event of what they deem to be a 'public health emergency.'

This includes quite a number of Big Brother tactics like national vaccine tracking and initiating BIOSURVEILLANCE operations.

Then there was H.R. 951, a bill "to promote the economic self-sufficiency of low-income women through their increased participation in high-wage, high-demand occupations where they currently represent 25 percent or less of the workforce."

This is a quota system, plain and simple... using government funds to induce private companies to hire from a particular demographic pool.

So, in just a week's time, the political elite in the Land of the Free gave us bills which:

1) ensure the government cannot assassinate its own citizens with drones
2) impose price controls with insurance premiums
3) award the government with more power to initiate biosurveillance operations
4) create a quota system in the labor market

It really makes me wonder... how much more will it take for people to notice how rapidly they're losing freedom, or how destructive the political leadership is?

The VIX is has hit a 5-Year low.  It has not been this low since April 2007.  Clearly, there is no risk in this market anymore.

Wrong. The market is correctly pricing in collapse with a 100% certainty, i.e. 0% uncertainty, 100% risk

Purist libertarians are so simplistic. "Freedom is the answer what's the question", blah, blah, blah ...
Actually freedom is NOT always a good thing. As we can see, when people have the freedom to hoard precious metals instead of investing in the economy, many people not only delay the global recovery, but also lose a fair portion if their investment, while forgoing the inevitable long term gains in stocks. The freedom to run your own business without regulations and restrictions is also a bad thing, as we can clearly see after the 2007 financial crisis.

Hi francis, I should have posted here first:

Gotta keep those Psyochotropics flowing into the hands of our Criminal Project Monarch Patsy's hands.  How else can we keep the public in fear of our Government Black Op sponsers Flase Flags.

I have to hand to the Bankster/Rothchilds owned, controled and operated Lucerferian Intelligence/"Agent Smith" media Agencies.

They've completely PsyOp'd/Mind Fucked the American People's Psyche and perception of reality via Flase Flags coupled with media False Narratives.

1. Define an act of terrorism as warfare. (This was done by Bush after 9/11, and people let him get away with it. Even though terrorist acts have always been covered by U.S. laws. The Oklahoma City bombing was not treated as “warfare” but as a crime to investigate and prosecute as usual.)

2. Declare that those who carry out a terrorist act can be imprisoned without a trial, because it would be “dangerous” and a threat to national security to give them a trial. (Witness: Jose Padilla, the prisoners at Guantanamo, imprisoned for years without a trial, which is illegal.)

3. Declare that those who carry out a terrorist act can be killed without a trial, just like on the battlefield.

4. Widen the definition of terrorism to anyone who “gives support” to terrorists. As we have seen from no-fly lists, this includes anti-war people who have organized against the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. It also includes “right-wing extremists” who oppose the globalist agenda.

Done. Now you can do whatever you want.

When the dollar collapse comes, ordinary Americans who demonstrate against the globalist state can be disarmed, registered, harassed, have their employers called and questioned to scare them, have their leaders imprisoned without a trial, under the pretext that they are giving support to “the terrorists”. The way the globalists act, there will always be “terrorists” who strike back by force. This is useful for the globalists.

Reporter Ron Suskind nailed it to the wall when he got Carl Rove to blurt this out.

“We’re an empire now and when we act, we create our own reality and while you’re studying that reality, judiciously, as you will, we’ll act again, creating another new realities, which you can study too.  And that’s how things will sort out.  We’re history’s actors, and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

freedom is NOT always a good thing

That's all you need to know about collectivist, statist, "progressive" (oxymoron) Million Dollar Douchebags.

A truly free market wouldn't be needing a recovery.  We're hoarding precious metals to protect ourselves from the likes of you.

You statist cocksuckers are so arrogant that when you break an economy, and people like us want to exit your creation, you claim that we're the problem.

The freedom to run your own business without regulations and restrictions is also a bad thing

If you knew anything about a free market, you would understand that, by the very nature of the market, the "regulatons and restrictions" are built in; they're created by the market, where people vote with their wallets.  The dynamics of millions of people engaging in free commerce are beyond the scope of what any central-planner can comprehend.

And you call yourselves the smart ones.

Why am I feeding the fucking troll?!?!?

2007 and 2008 clearly demonstrated that a "self-regulating" market doesn't work. The idea that you can have businesses doing whatever they want without any regulations is completely idiotic, which is one of the many reasons that most people don't take libertardians serisously. Another example of when freedom is not a good thing is "freedom of assmembly". When you have freedom of assembly you get rackets like the 'Tea Party' and 'OWS' protests, blocking the streets, occupying media time and costing the government valuable resources that would otherwise be put to productive use. As much as I wish it were, the world isn't as simple as libertarians make it out to be.

Kneel before me. I said... kneel! Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. It's an interesting question.  42 U.S.C. s1983, in theory, provides a cause of action for violation of individual constitutional rights, but only by agents of the federal government.  You cannot sue the federal government under this statute.  You can, however, sue the federal government under the Federal Tort Claims Act, but in a tort case, you have to show damages to get a judgment.  It would be interesting if somebody mooted a bill that provided a direct individual cause of action and remedy against the federal government for violations of the Constitution.

the sweet lullaby of our infalliable leaders claiming to 'do what it takes'.  people want to believe in something, they want to believe someone is in charge and able to make things right.  there is no memory of the crash.  there are no easy signs of what the new panic will be about.  there may not be  panic, maybe 20 long months of -3% each month, death by a thousand cuts.

no one learned, behavior has not changed, hence, the 'crisis' is not over.   appliance salespeople getting r/e licenses, low doc loans coming back, seller paid costs making fha the 0 down choice of ubyers, and builder/sellers.

the hope of the dream to riches is far stronger than the fear of eating cat food (at this stage).  margin debt at all time highs.   the rich/elite not seeing the forest for the trees, b/c there seems to be a lot of workers here at the club serving drinks and sandwiches--but dont realize these people all qualify for food stamps b/c wages are too low.

the vix is low b/c of pricing of option, which is the inputs into the vix number.   puts are cheap.  calls expensive.   odds of up/down the same but payoff for calls is low, puts are high.

I am willing to wager that most people in this Nation would sit idly by and do nothing if half the people on their streets were rounded up and disappeared overnight. I would put money on it. A combination of shitty diet, mindless TV programming, misreable education system, toxic drug cocktails, and dishonest "news" channels have successfully made a nation of zombies.

Nothing surprises me, and I am sure these headlines x100 would do nothing to wake the idiots.

There are a few people that have wrong thinking that are prone to deletarious action. The world is made up of people that are by their nature built to endure in a peaceful manner. It is the wrong thinking of the few that the many must overcome. How to do that is to drown their voices out both politically and socially. Fuck them. They are morons. May I meet the doctor performing my surgery?

Why yes, she is over there, Doctor Laquesha Jones.

Uh, the one holding three babies talking on her cell phone?

Yes, we brought her in from Detroit today. This will be her first surgery.

What? Where did she go to medical school? Did she go to medical school?

Oh, of course not. It is a new law passed by Obama. For every five doctors we have on staff we need to bring in one welfare queen and make her a doctor. Something about low income equality or whatever. Don't worry, if she can hold three babies, talk on a cell phone, and drive an Escalade without hitting anyone, I'm sure she can handle open heart surgery. Actually we brought her in because we heard she kep her baby daddy alive for four hours after he was shot 28 times. We told her and she replied, "Damn straght, Obama said he was gonna get us all white folk jobs. That's why we voted for him. Go Obama."

A political system should protect the weak, subdue the violent, empower the middle and constrain the rich.

I think every system has strengths and weaknesses but it seems all of them are hijacked by the rich/powerful/corrupt and morphed to their own good.

If the USA does not pull itself out of its problems, the rich and corrupt will seize more and more power in the name of control and stability. And the very essence of the greateness of the USA will continue to die. I would still prefer to be a USA citizen as apposed to a Chinese citizen. In 30 years however that may be a different story. This has profound and very sad connotations.
