Paying With A Hundred Dollar Bill? Prepare To Fill Out A Form
While depositors in Europe are having their money confiscated outright by their less than friendly governments and despotic, tyrannical politicians who will do everything in the name of "equality, fraternity and of course liberty" or, said otherwise, preserving their careers and the status quo while throwing their taxpayers and voters into the firepit of Keynesian and monetarist idiocy, in the US a different form of capital control may be taking shape.
NBC reports from Rhode Island, where a local restaurant chain is now demanding that any clients paying with $100 bills also provide their name, phone number, and drivers' license. By doing this - supposedly in the name of avoiding counterfeiting but don't you dare mention fake bill spotting markets or UV light - it eliminates the only upside that paper money had over electronic transactions: anonymity. How soon before all other retailers and vendors decide that it is a good idea to demand their clients' personal info, for the sake of avoiding counterfeiting of course, first in all $100 bill transactions, then $50, then $20, and so on?
And with the government already cracking down and commencing the regulation on BitCoin, maintaining gold tender is illegal and demanding tax records for all purchases and sales, and providing zero benefits to bank savers in the form of ZIRP, what is conflicted US consumer to do? Why spend of course, fully aware that every even cash-based transaction will be recorded for posterity, and for the benefit of Big Brother.
A local restaurant chain is now asking customers to fill out a form before paying with a 100. They say that's because they are often on the losing end off counterfeit $100 bills.
Bob Bacon, owner Gregg's restaurants, said his four locations have received 5 fake $100 bills in the last three months. "When this happened once a year, it was kinda the cost of doing business," said Bacon.
This starts to happen as frequently as it has since December, then it becomes something you at least have to do something about," Bacon told NBC10 News.
The form asks for name, phone number, and drivers license number, which Bacon says is like what some places ask for from check users.
Bacon does not think his customers are the counterfeiters. He says, "We're not getting the information so we can call up and say, you owe us a hundred dollars. That's not it at all. It's not about restitution. It's about gathering information and being able to maybe create a paper trail that leads to some resolution on this and maybe finding the origin of it."
Bacon admits some customers have complained about the new policy. But he also adds the restaurants have not gotten any fake $100 bills since the policy was implemented 10 days ago.

I ain't fallin for no banana in no tailpipe...
Of course once all currency goes digital, it makes it easier to give haircuts to everyone's accounts.
Exactly how do you pull electronic credits from an ATM?
And, don't worry, just like regular haircuts, there'll be no such thing as a 'one time wealth tax'
how about i take the name, address, and phone number of the restaurant owner because the paper money he's giving me as change for my paper money may be fake. who the hell does he think he is? a-hole.
Yeah, I like the way you go to a lot of places and pay with twenties and they hold them up, then mark them to verify that they're not fake, but they don't verify the ten's, five's and one's they hand back to you.
I'm going to take a highlighter with me next time I go to WallyWorld and when they hand me my change, start marking the bills while going 'Hmmmm...'...thanks for the idea!
Seriously, how long before the drugstore REQUIRES me to have my "Saver's Card" to buy something?
He is a good fucking serf.
SeverinSlade sums it up nicely.......
that's why I only carry Grants
That made me laugh duo!
DavidC
Need to stop counterfeitters.....get them to fill out a form and promise to put their real information on the sheet.
Your move, counterfeitters
Exactly... If I'm sophisticated enough to counterfeit bills, then I can probably manage a fake ID. Total fucking nonsense.
I'd be more surprised if the guy actually reports the income he receives from $100 bills... He's basically saying that the tax savings from unreported cash income is LESS than the loss on counterfeit bills... I highly doubt it.
Actually the fake ID comes first. You can buy a whole slew of fake IDs from Silk Road using Bitcoin.
My Singapore ID says I am a 22 y/o female with hugh tits.
Does Hugh have big tits?
Credit card fraud is far more common, what about those scum.
death, obviously.
Tell you what, Bob. If you provide a "paper trail" showing precisely where the food that you serve was grown and processed, so that the guilty parties can be held accountable if I happen to get sick, then I'll fill out your form.
Otherwise, I'll take my business elsewhere.
Not surprised. I anticipated this happening. I got rid of all the $100 and $50 bills from my safe a while ago. Just $20's now. No banks for me thank you.
Besides easier to pass a $20. Hit every fast food joint in town that has pictures on the cash registers instead of numbers.
Oh shit, did that come out my outloud keyboard. See my post above about credit cards. I never use cash. I stack it!
Only way to roll. The tellers look at you like an asshole when you ask for $20s instead of $100s, but I like to tell them that my service is just job security for them... they scowl and I smile.
Now the fun really begins :)
and as 3:30 rolls around.....
If they serve Mogan David with their meals perhaps the Bernak and crew will dine there. Would be a SNL sketch if he paid with a real Counterfeit bill!
Au, Ag and Pb.
In addition to 1 ounce rounds, make sure you pick up some fractionals and trade gold pieces ranging from 5 gram to 10 grams.
For the PB, an ample supply of hollow points is a good idea.
We will have arrived when we pay for that Big Mac with fries and a Coke with a hundred dollar bill and there is $0.39 in change.
<Gone in 60 seconds.>
What happens when his customers tell him to piss up a rope?
If there was any pushback at all they would drop this policy immediately. With restaraunt business the way it is these days they couldn't afford not to.
The sad part is, 99% of their customers will knuckle under. Could you imagine pulling something like this in the fifties, the seventies, or even the nineties? What has happened to America?
Try to pay in 7.62x39 and see what happens.
Just don't go there, i.e., the restaurant. Go elsewhere. People should just start reacting to stupid stop and it will stop.
Many stores have a machine that they can run the $50 and $100 bill to check. The owner is an @ss.
If you pay via CC they will know everything about you anyway. And probably swipe your CC for the record
Talking with a SS agent last year, he said many of the counterfeits circumvent detection because they're on real currency paper... lower denomination bills are "washed" clean and higher denominations printed over them... The easiest way to spot them is with the embedded strip. If you see a $100 bill with a $20 strip, then it's fake. You can hold the bill up to the light and it should have the dollar amount posted on the strip.
If there's a $100 strip in the bill and it's on the right paper, then the counterfeiter is particularly skilled...
The US is becoming totalitarian...scary...a dying nasty empire...a great country America mind you...the best...why don't you rise up?
Sth America is where its at. Too calm and chaotic (contemporaneously) for neurotic evil US Federalists to influence - yet. I'll do my bit to try to keep it that way...
You mean people can still afford to go out and eat in the States? It may be a moot point for this jernt in the not-too-distant future.
uhhhhhhh hellooo, we are the reserve currency! so Chase credit cards w/ $15k limits on them come in handy when we we want to gorge ourselves with overpriced chain crap like PF Chang's or Chili's.
Fuck NBC.
"How soon before all other retailers and vendors decide that it is a good idea to demand their clients' personal info, for the sake of avoiding counterfeiting of course, first in all $100 bill transactions, then $50, then $20, and so on?"
As soon as they want to lose business. Imagine how long this process would take if you had to do it for each transaction.
Many convenience stores don't accept $50 or $100 bills at all, and haven't for many years. Is that a conspiracy too?
I will be $100 his food tastes like shit.
It's not great. Typical fam fare BS.
(as the owner has to place a forms of payment sign), Let's publicize our policy for the 'Bad Guys'.
Maybe the restaurant owner should get better ink!
Bullish for fake driver's licenses.
We continue down the slippery slope. In 2011, Louisiana prohibited the use of cash for those who buy/sell secondhand goods.
Law Bans Cash for Second Hand Transactions
http://www.klfy.com/story/15717759/second-hand-dealer-law
Unless he asks to see your drivers license, just give him the address of the Federal Reserve building in D.C. and tell him that those people are the real counterfeiters.
Ben Bernanke
Federal Reserve
Washington DC
and i have alot more $100 bills, where that one came from
"Oh, you don't take $100 bills? Well, I have a nice bag of dimes here. Start counting."
Nickels and some pennies are worth more than face value. Kyle Bass FTW!
Yea but your 2 bits of time are about to run out.
Of course the obvious answer is refuse to go to the place and it will stop real quick. The problem however is that the majority of the customers are already broke asses. Most pay with credit or EBT, so it's really no sweat off that guy's back.
They want everyone fully locked in. "You have cash motherfucker!? Where did you get it from and did we get our piece of the action, you goddamn puke?"
Freedom loving Americans should boycott any establishment that behaves likes this.
Hey Junker! Are you the guy( SN w/ something like old geezer or something close) that asked the other day how come ZH allows such idiots(quoting you) to post..
..and I responded
Strange question coming from you, no?
.
I’m a bit sympathetic for the restaurant here. I once had a C-note taken when I tried to deposit it at my bank branch. It scanned fake, but, three months later proved to be real after the FBI examined it at their local office. What pissed me off is how the bank did nothing to follow up on my behalf after they confiscated the bill. I had to chase it down at the FBI myself. There’s no fee in it for the bank, so, I guess they just figured it was my problem. That’s banking service for ya.
Find a more customer-service oriented bank or credit union then. Duh.
Tell me again, just how do I get back to the 1980's?
You're gonna need a DeLorean, some beer cans, & a few banana peels
~~~
I can help you out with the beer cans...
It would be interesting if we could identify the down-arrow nameless coward who has trolled the site all day like a good little pussy communist dick eating bitch, slamming every post with a pretty red arrow.
That's the kind of guy who would turn you in to the recycling nazi's for throwing away a fucking tin can, just to get the 'atta boy from the gestapo.
Do you think it's a troll or something wrong with the site? Every now and then when I click on Zerohedge today I get this horrible pop-over video that drives my laptop AND ME nuts.
It's really not funny to watch our way of life coming apart. This is not a video game or a 2 hour fantasy adventure. When things unravel and it hits home for millions upon millions of people, it's going to get nasty - quick.
and the worst part is, it takes fucking years. i have been awake since 2006 and I have been a wreck mentally since then. uncertainity kills me.... slowly.
I had the opportunity for a little teaching moment the other day. I handed the cashier a $100 bill and she held it up to the light and hemmed and hawed. "I have to check - this could be counterfeit" she said. "It is counterfeit" I said. You woulda thought that little piece of paper had anthrax on it. She literally jumped back. I smiled and said - "See, you can tell its counterfeit, not real money, because it says right here "Federal Reserve Note". Oh. Hah Hah. Big relief. and then - a little glimmer - "but I know what you mean." Hallaleuja.
Call the store and tell them how you feel. I told them that we will be boycotting them because of this new policy. Here's the number: 401-886-5700
How about you try calling the FED and let them know how you feel about their driving the value of that $100 into the ground? 1-800-FUK-U-BEN...
Is the restaurant owner doing back ground checks on his employees? I can't wait until he gets sued for Identity Theft.
cops are thugs or they wouldnt be cops
They are going to start REALLY pushing a cashless society. It will be in the name financial equality. The poor person will have the same card as the wealthy one.
... and that is when government will truly have ultimate control over us. With electronic cash, we are at the mercy of government.
Exactly. And if you notice, the excuse every time is to stop purported 'criminal activity'. This is a commonality used by TPTB whether they are stealing from Cyprus accountholders, clamping down on Bitcoin, confiscating/prohibiting cash, or raiding safety deposit boxes. Always it is to 'catch the bad guys' (actually, in the case of Cyprus, to screw the money launderers/tax cheats). And people cheer it on, happy to see rights trampled without due process of law... and completely unaware that they, too, may be put in the vice one day.
Someone the other day posted a link on Operation Rize in the UK, a no-holds barred fishing expedition. Confiscation of private property held within safety deposit boxes left people having to prove ownership of items held for generations. In some cases, items so proven were still not returned upon proof being provided, as they wanted to assess whether duty/tax had been paid in generations prior when personal items were brought in. Similar to the Tennessee cash confiscations, there was a police profit motive in 'successful' confiscations.
Here is the link someone posted (thank you to the ZH poster contributing this for discussion):
It's standard operating procedure for the turds in the California Legislature to confiscate contents of what they consider to be an "inactive" bank safety deposit box.
join your local time bank... barter system of an exchange of services .. tax free!
If a restaurant asked me to fill out a form for a $100 bill, it's the LAST time I'd visit. If people keep going back to this place, they deserve to fill out the form.
Whether restaurants or banks, or politicians, or criminals or dogs or children,
DO NOT REWARD THE UNDESIRED BEHAVIOR
"Your money is no good here."
Anonymity isn't the only benefit to using cash. The big banks don't get a cut as they do thru a credit card. The merchant gets to keep the fee a card would impose. You don't have to bother reconciling your checkbook.
Banks take a cut on checking accounts don't they? Don't know ain't seen a check in so long.
The only cut on a check should be going to the company verifiying authenticity of the check.
To lower his "cost of doing business" Bob Bacon could offer his patrons a deal:
"I could give you $32.47 in "legitimate" change back on your tab, or you can take a chance on this nice, crisp, $100 bill. Your choice."
They're not worried about the $100 bill being counterfeit, they're worried about getting stuck with 100 useless dollars. LMAO.
Tyler, maybe you can have the more-on that is junking for no reason other than for attention, to fill out a form similar to the restaurant so we send him some dog 'junk'
Speaking of $100 bills, Quick, someone take a hundred dollar bill over there to the euro zone and run it around like super crazy as in the below example and all of the problems will be solved.
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread544407/pg1
Sounds like they need to train their underpaid employees better, they're not that hard to spot. Or employees are swapping real for counterfeit.
Everyone knows employees are never the problem. Greg now has two problems, a bad employee and customer complaints.
I mean, why not punish the reasonable and prudent, everyone else is.
Hello? Its moronic... All FIAT is counterfeit!
http://m.wikihow.com/Detect-Counterfeit-US-Money
No form needed.
good lord, i guess i better not even THINK about using my $10,000 bill.
Oddly enough, those are still ok.
Call them 401-886-5700
Definition of counterfeit
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/counterfeit
Doesnt GS, JPM, FED, CNBS and .GOV do exactly this ?
If I may quote "To Live and Die in L.A.", 'Shit, man, 100's aint no good in my neighborhood.'
Ten whole days without a bad 100? Bacon is rockin' it!
I don't patronize establishments that do stupid things like: a) make it hard for me to do business with them; b) disallow concealed firearms on premise; c) refuse cash for payment; d) act disrespectful to me; e) make me wait unnecessarily; f) feature religious slogans everywhere; etc.
Guess I can't eat in RI.
I agree with A through E, but what's wrong with religious slogans everywhere?
Even when I was a non-religious guy I recognized that anyone willing to put on a sign in/on/near their business is a most likely patriot who loves their own freedom.
Why would you not want to do business with such persons?
Yeah - because we all know how dishonest those religious people are - always trying to steal something, cut corners, spit in the food etc.
You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill. One guy does this and it's the end of the world. Suddently the money nazis are taking over the world.
Suddenly? Have you heard of a lovely place named Cyprus?
The trend is NOT your friend.
Fuckwad.
Funny the Jews said the same thing when Hitler ordered the rounding up the homo's and retarded folks.
We are a house of cards. One card gets removed, what happens. After all it was just ONE card.
If you let one guy get a way with it then the next guy thinks he can do the same thing and then an entire community leads to the state which leads to a region which leads to a country. It's not that hard, it's what lawyers and media refer to as "a slippery slope" You might want to look that up over the weekend.
I should hand the sucker my 50 Trillion Zee Note for giggles...
Trust is dead
When I get cash these days, I specifically ask for $50s, because $100s get way too much scutiny.
I think the problem (other than the fiat-is-counterfeit problem) is that all $100 are still old-style, non-colored bills, due to the BoE fuckup. So they're simply easier to counterfeit than any other bill at the moment. Because most $50s are the new colored bills with additional security measures (color shift ink, etc) I never seem to have a problem with them.
If I was ever asked to fill out a form for a cash transaction, though... I wouldn't, and that would be my last transaction.
Seriously, what are they going to do? Call the police because you didn't fill out a form? Unless they've posted signage, they don't have a legal leg to stand on, and even then I'm not sure.
$50 is the new $20
Inflation, ya know....
Really? When I hand anyone a fifty, they don't even think it's a real note, since they've never seen one before.
Same with $2 bills.
$2 bills are awesome....strippers often mistake them for $20s in the dark.
Next they'll be asking you if you're authorized to carry cash....
Paper as collateral for fiat - what will they dream up next?
this explanation is bullshit and total cia....there are very effective means for identifying fake 100s at pos...these nazi control freaks can go fuck themselves...
RI has the highest unemployment rate in the US. Afterall, these "less perfect" Benjamins are just the product of enterprising individuals, who hope to create economic development out of nothing. The pinnicle of EconObamanism! Long live the Socialist Democrat Paradise of RI, comrades! RI is the face of our national economic failure..... dead ahead and coming up quickly in your windshield.
Sounds like a "local restaurant chain" is
"Going Out of Fucking Buisness."
Ps...fuck yous bankers.
S&H Green Stamps !!!!
$100's ? 50's? How about 10's?
I was at a McDonalds that I used to frequent. They refused a $10 bill saying it was fake. In fact they had given me the bill 4 days earlier. So we know who was passing the counterfiat currency.
I took it to the bank and they said it was real.
Ironic seeing as how they sell counterfeit food...
Damn ~ If you were jewish, you could file a 'hate crime' lawsuit on them & walk away with a lot of loot...
I just won't patronize his restaurant. What kind of person in the "service" business, inconveniences his customers?
Plastic trumps paper
Time for your to review the Aaron Russo interview.
I would tell him to go fuck himself.
Just for fun just sprinkle your next dinner bill with coins over $.25 in denomination. I had a waitress at a high end restaurant insist I had underpaid my bill because no one...NOT ONE IDIOT IN THE PLACE...had ever seen a dollar coin (Sacagawea & Susan B.'s were thrown down). Once they verified it (via wikipedia, which they trusted infinitely, of course) they all thought it was cool and apologized...with a $25 gift card since they made a bit of a scene. Postal machines always seem to give me these so I save them up and then dispose of my legal tender. Blows. Their. Fucking. Mind.
I wonder if maybe this has something possibly to do with the fact that for a small business, getting caught with counteirfeit fiat is an expensive hassle. So they are attempting to mitigate their risk by passing it to you. That is what happens when margins compress and growth prospects evaporate. Welcome to the recovery.
Funny thing is that many a toothless half wit convenient store clerk is capable of holding the $100 bill up to light and determine if it's a fake or not. This guy can't manage that? Are you saying the government has gone to great lengths remaking the bills in order to easily ascertain if it's a fake or not. Are you saying the US government has wasted much time and money in this endeavor?
This article about the same story says they did all normal tests on the notes, but the fakes were too good. Those supe-good fake dollar bills are becoming a more substantial issue. Stop defending the usability of the paper money! You are against legal tender laws but want to be "protected" by them since they exist anyway (btw they wouldn't protect you in this particular case if the restaurant lets you know in advance what and how they accept as a payment). SILVER, BITCH!
Why are people so willing to give out their private information to any and everyone that ask. No wonder it's a field day for Identity theft. I wonder if he has a legal responsibilty to ensure that all this information he is collecting is kept secure and what, if any, is the legal recourse if he does not keep the information secure or he actually sells it to a third party which would open him up to a beating in my opinion. I don't know this guy and don't know what he is capable of. He could very well be the crook in this situation hiding behind protecting himself from being ripped off. I suppose I would want his same information in return in order to protect myself and give it to an investigator if he fucked me over with my private information. He shouldn't object being required to provide the same information he's demanding from his patrons.
You want my money then you take it in the form it is offered but I'm not filling out any form when paying with cash. Until they outlaw the government backed paper money they will either take the money I offer or I will eat for free. I suppose I may get creative, pull a Kramer, and pay with a bunch of coins.
just called Bob's restaurant and made a reservation for dinner for Saturday night for a party of 20 . . .
Correct Tylers. This is where things start. I had a similar experience about 1,5 years ago; buying toys for my kid, honey boo boo behind the counter said: can't take a €100,- bill. My response within 0,3 seconds: you take the bill or you can shove that toy somewhere it's dark most of the time. She called her boss and it was OK. The moment fascism sticks out her tongue, you have to bite.
A simple solution is stop being the idiot chump consumer.
Just quit being an idiot chump consumer.
Oh for God's sake. This one fucking restaurant chain with 4 restaurants in a country of 300 million plus people, with over a half million restaurants. Obviously, this is not a place you want to patronize, so don't. But this is NOT news.
"Hey hey hey -- goodbye." One more business bites the dust.
If they don't want Widowmaker's money then that is just fine --fuck'em
The Fed/Treasury will just print the difference and give it to their "chosen" bullshitters anyway.
I would not be suprised if the guy serve fake horse meat.
Things are getting stranger and stranger.
Ron Steiger (?) from Twilight Zone must be saying somewhere: Why did I not think of that.
The solution is so simple. Simply flash your new Bernanke Cash Card. This card will enable you two pay your debts with FRNs.
How DARE you pay for something with a 100.00? Debt slaves are not entitled to use debt coupons, you must use your debt card, like every other slave!
If enough customers decided to patronize other restaurants instead of this one, this foolishness would stop.
I shop at thrift stores, and most of them test any bill larger than a ten with the marker that changes color with fake bills. It only takes a second, and does not affect the privacy of a cash transaction.
The outrage here just cracks me up. What is everybody afraid of? That this restaurant owner is going to report you to the IRS or Homeland Security? Jesus, he's just trying to protect his business, even if he's doing it in a stupid way. You act like he's the beginning of an ominous trend--a clear sign of capital controls coming to Amerika. Give me a break. Maybe capital controls will come here, but this has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's one guy who is tired of getting counterfeit bills. That's all. I've seen a lot of businesses that say they don't accept anything higher than a 20. Would it make you guys happier if he had done that instead?
Test the bills, don't track the customers.
Your right, I'm sure this establishment will guard your personal information with the highest level of integrity so no need to worry about ID theft. Hey why your at it why not just go ahead and publicize your SS number as well. Some asshole at the bar sees the information and decides the woman paying with the $100 bill writing her name, address, phone number and DL wouldn't make an easy target for assault either. I would wonder what the liabilty for the owner would be in this case, though we all know something like this would never happen.
Boycott
Just more grief I don't need. I'll be eating somewhere else. Thank you for the warning.
I don't like our new plastic 100s and 50s but a 20 buys only a small bag of groceries. The grocery store cashier said most payments are debit card payments. People with cash are terrorists or drug dealers at best.
I don't like our new plastic 100s and 50s but a 20 buys only a small bag of groceries. The grocery store cashier said most payments are debit card payments. People with cash are terrorists or drug dealers at best.
Where are you getting PLASTIC currency?.I have yet to see ONE of them.
Sorry I' should have said I'm in Canada. We will have all plastic bills soon. I think the 20s are due this year. 10s and 5s will also be plastic as they last longer. They stick easily together and feel strange when you have had paper for 55 years but we will adapt. I already have a crocodile wallet that does not fold the bills. It's so European.
A $52 investment will retain customer’s who prefer to pay cash.
http://www.accubanker.com/products/counterfeit-detectors/D63.phtml
I REFUSE TO TAKE 100S FROM BANKS, SPECIFICALLY CHASE, EVERYTIME I WITHDREW MONEY FROM CHASE ATLEAST ONE OF MY 100S WERE FAKE or "Old Crispy New Bills", IE: 100s from 1952 that look like they were printed yesterday!
ITS THE BANKS COUNTERFEITING THE PAPER.
Ha ha ha...they can have my name, phone number, etc...just gimme the physical goods! I guarantee I will ALWAYS be able to find someone who will buy (or swap) physical anything versus taking paper.
The banks are turning nations into cash only economies (by account confiscations) and businesses are refusing to accept cash. And so another week comes to an end.
So next step: cash gets substituted with silver. Silver bitchez!
"The reason, says chain owner Bob Bacon, is to deter people from spending counterfeit cash.
"It started around Christmastime: "We started seeing an influx of pretty sophisticated $100 dollar bills. They passed the normal tests," said Bacon -- until they were deposited in the bank.
It happened often enough -- six in about two months, as opposed to maybe one fake bill a year -- that Gregg's decided to start asking for some basic contact and identifying information whenever anybody wanted to pay with a hundred. The form is very basic, and includes a box to write down the customer's driver's license number.
If the transaction included something bogus, Bacon figured, it'd give investigators a clue to go forward."
http://www.wpri.com/dpp/news/local_news/providence/warwick-greggs-restau...
One guy's effort to fight fraud he has actually encountered in his business becomes grist for the ZH propaganda mill. Surely you could have found a way to include BITCOIN in the story?
And an individual's effort to use legal tender without harrassment and doling out personal information to any halfwit just because he ask becomes grist for people that do not seem to value an individual's right to privacy. I'd rather give the guy my finger print than my home information. How do I know the guy isn't selling the information or running an ID theft ring? No resturaunt has ever been a front for criminal enterprise so I know what I suggest is far fetched.
Nobody is forcing you to do busines with the dude. And he is hardly setting any trends.
Where did I say anything about setting a trend in the post you are responding to? You are right no one is forcing me to do business with the dude and no one would be successful forcing me to tell them my personal information while paying with legal tender either. Until they outlaw cash that is.
Went to a coffee shop today and they had $1,000,000,000 FRN in the tip jar. A couple years ahead of the times.
Odumbwa must hate dat "10 spot" (sawbuck)sumpin' fierce, cause I ain't seen no 10 dollar bill with a date newer than 2009. Most tens around here look like dey been to Guatemala and back in wet clothes. Just a little peculiar... CB
So he cost himself $500 over the past 3 months being unable to detect counterfeits. I think he loses most of his business with this hare brained scheme.
