North Korea Says It Has Final Approval For Nuclear Attack On US

Tyler Durden's picture

This is merely the latest headline in what may well culminate with the wettest dream Paul Krugman has ever had.

For those concerned, here is a map showing the range of North Korean missiles. It is safe to assume that GETCO's collocated servers are safe, and will ramp the ES limit up on any flashing red headline launch news. Just think of the fixed income investment and epic resulting GDP boost, on both a real and seasonally adjusted basis.

Does the Free Market Produce Prosperity? - A Comprehensive Research Paper

There are a number of articles investigating the relationship between deregulation and economic prosperity, but very few studies reference the unintended consequences of laissez faire capitalism. This research paper by Alan Krueger, Obama’s chief economic advisor, suggests that a decrease in the minimum wage could result in a reduction in income[1].

Despite the claims of many libertarians that the free market favors the poor, the academic literature continues to question this proposition. Either this is a strongly contested or under-researched economic issue, or the science has not been widely disseminated amongst economic educators and publicists. This study aims add some clarity to the question of whether the academic literature does in fact support common libertarian beliefs about the virtues of the free market.

China uses N. Korea to distract US attention away from middle east oil.

US uses Israel to attack last Russian stronghold of Syria.

But China doesn't want Syria to fall which would become a springboard for Iran attack.

Today China surpassed US as world's top consumer of oil.

Make Sense?

Superpowers don't fight wars on their own motherland.

Superpower = UN Security Council = China, USA, Russia, France, UK

The thing to consider here is that US defense companies gave China all kinds of fun technology, including ICBM.  NK is a puppet regime of China.  Those range estimates assume we're not talking about Chinese (ie., US) tech.  That is a tenuous assumption.

As to the concept "they would never do this!  we're their best customers!", I think we're forgetting all the tremendous geopolitical and economic advantages they would gain the absence of the petrodollar.

Oh please.  Like the CIA isn't providing endless streams of false intel to Pyongyang making it look like they're under threat of annihilation.    The Norks think they're making defensive gestures and the Western media picks up on their response as if it's an initial threat.

Here we go...

Don't believe everything you hear folks.  The Norks aren't insane idiots.  In fact, there aren't many nations in history that are hell bent on their own destruction.   It's not a very common trait at all.   So when someone tells you there's an insane leader, hell bent on his own destruction -- it's better to read betwen the lines.

This time may be different.

Nut countries never say "we will destroy ourselves" by the way. That's hyperbole on the poster's part...

They say "we will deliver a crushing blow to the imperialist aggressor" and in a vacuum of rational gainsayers, may even believe it.

During the cuban missile crisis there were "true believers" in Havana who were ready to "out commie" the Russians and head for that Great Collective in the sky...We came "that close" before Russia and Kennedy struck a face saving deal.

Surly Bear  "Okay, so they can hit Kalifornia.."

Where do you see that? According to the chart, the Taepo Dong 2 has the distance but is still in development. So you have no definites there. I recall a few years ago, one of N. Korea's missiles missle tests being a huge failure for just a few hundred miles. There longest operational missile won't even reach Hawaii at this point. And then there is the question of accuracy.

N. Korea is more a concern for Japan and S. Korea. But the concensus seems to be that any attempted nuclear strike would be the end game for N. Korea. They certainly aren't going to invade anyone but S. Korea. Outside of those missles, they have no long range logistics for war.

Deadliest Catch: Retribution

A group of former snow crab fisherman, permanently unemployed due to a nuclear attack by North Korea (NOT the nuclear meltthroughs in Japan!) form a militia. Watch them as they go from boot camp, to the streets of Pyongyang in this hard hitting reality TV series.

This is where mostly Chinese women come to the US just to give birth so their child has citizenship.

Yeah, it'll make a hell of a mess when you hit the Mujahadin with the AK. But there's going to be a high round/hit ratio for that effect.

Of course, the important point missed is how the cost of everything drops when the Raw Material prices go down.

Poor labor being just another Raw Material of course.

Only an idiot would think that raising the cost of an RM is good for society, or the "Raw Material".  When costs go up, you find alternative materials.  When minimum wages go up, you find alternative labor.

"...Alan Krueger, Obama’s chief economic advisor, suggests that a decrease in the minimum wage could result in a reduction in income[1]. ..."
No shit! If your labor is not worth the minimum wage then yes your income would go down.

On the other hand those whose labor is worth less than minimum wage and accept the lower wage would see their income increase.

Don't need a PHD to figure that out.

Incidentally, all Obama advisors are Keynesans, also known as economic alchemists or quacks.

Since the topic is North Korea, it appears that what you are advocating is a centrally controlled economy. It does not appear to have brought economic prosperity to the people of North Korea. You may claim that this is due to leadership. However, if you believe in the North Korean way, then you believe that the leader of North Korea is a god. So, are you advocating a change of god?
