YUM Plunges After-Hours On 'Shocking' China KFC Miss

Tyler Durden's picture

Just as we warned, the avian flu in China has had a very significant impact on its KFC chain

  • *YUM BRANDS MARCH COMP SALES DOWN 13% FOR CHINA UNIT     :YUM US
  • *YUM BRANDS: MARCH SAME-STORE SALES DOWN 16% AT KFC CHINA

It seems slashing prices did not do the trick - though we are sure this strain of the deadly virus is just a 'storm in a teacup' buying opportunity.

It’s probably a lot safer than the monkey brain tartar or tabby cat chop suey at some venues.

Well don't count um out yet. you used to get 230 yen per dollar in the early 70's. Then the big car and tv explosion exportation took it down to 120 over 20 years. I'm sure they've learned a thing or two since then to keep the currency just where they need it.

According to Google Translate:
The growth of the world economy will accelerate this year as recovery in Europe and Japan fails. That is Director Christine Lagarde of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said today during a press conference in New York. She thinks that the growth is not much higher than last year. The organization comes about a week with new growth forecasts.

According Lagarde is the world in three scales in parts: (1) countries that are doing well, (2) a number that almost restored (3) and countries that still needed to be done. Europe belongs to the latter category and should include preparation for a solid reform of the banking sector. "The priority must be to continue to clean up the banking system, through to recapitalize, restructure and, if necessary, by some banks to close," said Lagarde

In Japan should rather increase confidence that monetary policy will lead to economic growth. They therefore welcomed the support plans that the Japanese central bank recently unveiled.

The United States, according to Lagarde nice, but she is worried about the automatic cuts that took effect last month. The so-called sequestration may be at the expense of growth at a time when many Americans are unemployed. "It is an extremely coarse instrument that deep cuts in many important programs, including facilities for the weakest, while the main expenditure items as they are."

According to AnAnonymousTranslate:

The growth of the US 'american' economy will accelerationize this year as farming of the poor, extorting of the weak in Europe and Japan fails. That is 'american' Director Christine Lagarde of the International 'American' Monetary Fund (AIMF) said today during an 'american' propaganda session in New York. She thinks that the rate of blobbing-up is not much higher than last year, alas, alas, three times alas.

According 'american' citizen Lagarde is the world in three (alas, alas, alas) scales in parts: (1) US 'american' and non-US 'american' countries that are doing well, (2) a number that almost captured by 'americanism' (3) and countries that still needed to be blobbed-up by duplicitous 'american' interests. "American' Europe belongs to the latter category and should include preparation for a solid movement of the banking sector. "The priority must be to continue to blob up the banking system, through to recapitalize, restructurize and, if necessary, by some banks to closerize," said Lagarde

In 'american' Japan should rather increase confidence that monetary policy will lead to economic growth via monolizing of the currency debasement means. They therefore welcomed the support plans that the 'american' Japanese central bank recently unveiled.

The United States, parangong of consumptionalization and farming the poor, according to 'american' Lagarde nice, but she is worried about the automatic cuts that took effect last month. The so-called sequestrationalisticalism may be at the expense of so-called 'american' growth at a time when many 'Americans' are unemployed, except for the middle class, which is the king class. "It is an extremely coarse instrument that deep cuts in many important programs, including facilities for the farming of the weakest, while the main expenditure items as they are.

Alas, alas, three times alas, just have to bear with it."

IDC: "It seems clear that the Windows 8 (MSFT) launch not only didn’t provide a positive boost to the PC market, but appears to have slowed the market." H-P (HPQ) was the market's leader, but its share fell 200 bps Y/Y to 15.7%. #2 Lenovo (LNVGY.PK) saw its share rise 210 bps to 15.3%, and #3 Dell's rose 40 bps to 11.8%. Naw - we are in a permanent new paradigm.

There is no point discounting anything.  If you wait around it will be fine.  When all risks are contained by the Fed there is no downside.  The only thing to consider doing is buy or strong buy.  Valuations are meaningless, those are old school metrics.

At 0% financing its amazing how many companies can be LBO at 30-40% higher than current valuations ...

At negative financing we can move to 100% higher valuations.

I will LBO IBM right now if the government will give me a -10 rate for 40 years on 400 billion ...
