We Have Discovered The Boom! Record Jobs For Those Who Make Stuff Up

Tyler Durden's picture

In what may be the most appropriate chart to summarize not only the entire US "recovery", the "all time high stock market" and the daily newsflow, we present the number of jobs for those in the motion picture and sound recording industries, i.e, those who "make stuff up." It just hit a record high. And with "circus" jobs at all time highs, we can only assume jobs for makers of bread, if the BLS actually broke it out, would be off the charts as well. We will just leave it at that.

We need to get some of them expert play pretend actors to testify in front of Congress about what they know.

Nah.. that would be stupid.

Headbanger's picture

Wait...  that IS Congress!

Shocker's picture

We don't need to manufacture anything anymore. We can replace all theses productive jobs with service, low end jobs.

This trend continues and you wonder why the job situation is so messed up.

That chart from the BLS “bull shit league” is as fake as my avatar.

I work in this very industry and we all have to do more work with less staff, it’s the same all over.

Also the film labs have been closing left and right. As an example a big entertainment center like New York only has one lab now and it’s struggling to survive. What I see are more minimum wage part timers and less talent. I concur when things get bad people go on staycations and instead of going away go to a movie, but have you experienced the price of a movie with popcorn and a drink that would make mayor Blumefuck  shit his pants. The theaters’ are being forced to retool to a digital format that costs millions when they have perfectly fine equipment that is finally paid for and giving an ROI.

YOU “WE HAVE DISCUVERED” SHILL FUCKING BANK LOVINGASSHOLES at the BLS are talking out the side of your ass! Want to see a chart? Show a chart of the fucking banking industry you piece of shit.

I think it can do much more...

My guess is that it includes all of the paid trolls/shills that are now planted everywhere to 'make stuff up' to destroy normal discourse and analysis of what a disaster this economy/country is becoming.

Paging MDButthole...can you please confirm who is filling your dog bowl?

Krugman also likely falls into this one by now....

Less to do now that BinLaden was 'killed'.   Faking all those videos was a lot of work.

No worry though.  Expect a major 'Wag thje Dog' effort soon focusing on North Korea (seems like the Pentagon was a bit worried that going after Iran might actually be a problem - war game scenarios showed us losign a few carriers in the Gulf right off to cruise missles..... besides Iran was Cheney's pet ptoject.  Obama has to show some 'independence')

That's bullshit!

My double entendre merit badge for the day has thusly been earned.

Oh, and 'Nanke is printing up lots of dough, you just can't eat it.

No surprise here.  It does not take any energy or real inputs to "make shit up".  Now the world re-learns the difference between theory and reality (again).

GeezerGeek's picture

Does your "make shit up" category include the BLS? They're masters, followed closely by the Congressional Budget Orifice.

krispkritter's picture

The numbers are that high because they now count the MSM 'news' outlets, the FED, much of the White House, and certainly Congress as a group that 'make shit up'.  Can it be any other way these days?

Harbanger's picture

Does selective editing, as in CNBC's edited 911 call in the Trayvon Martin case count as "making shit up"?

Doomer's picture

I think that was ABC, but yes.

Keep all the 'shrooms in the dark, eating shit.

Harbanger's picture

ABC?  No it was definitely CNBC, but I'm sure other stations ran the same edited tape until they got caught.

LawsofPhysics's picture

It includes anyone who's job it is to sit in front of a computer and make shit up, period.  Whether that is computer modeling of economics or weather or movies is fucking irrelevant.  The laws Nature and physics really don't give a shit and neither should you.

Have to keep the circuses running at full throttle!  Especially since the bread is getting more expensive.

krispkritter's picture

Have you SEEN the price of bread helmets these days? And God help you if you're gluten intolerant...

cynicalskeptic's picture

We'll be converting over to Roman style 'circuses' soon - blood sports keep the masses diverted from wholesale slaughter overseas and has the added benefot of reducing the convict population.   NBC has high hopes for 'Running Man'

What a putz I was to ever doubt the Fed could create another bubble.

Even Newton would be doubting if gravity exists today.

Skateboarder's picture

Gravity? Isn't that a barbarous relic of the ancient past, before they had TV?

Harbanger's picture

Today Newton would have to conclude that an apple can fly off your head and into a tree.

This is also due to the enormous tax breaks that Hollywood (who pays the pols) gets from the individual states over the years (negotiated by the unions) to get them to film in their locations.

And then the RIAA and MPAA take those profits and use it to lobby against my civil rights and copyright law.
