Caption Contest: The Four Horsemen Arrive

Tyler Durden's picture

The four horsemen of the Eurocalypse arrived in Dublin Castle today. If we were the 6 (yes, only 6) tons of official Irish gold holdings, we would be worried. Very worried.

And as a bonus, here is Sudoku Schauble: because forcing sovereign states to sell you their gold at firesale prices is exhausting work.

No shit.  Even my "county assessment" of my property is WAY below Zillow's theoretical world of markt-to-fantasy.  Perhaps Zillow is just reflecting the book market value the banks are sitting on.

In Queens County, NYC, my tax assessment is actually higher than Zillow's.  It's a pissing match of cockamamey valuations.  Makes me want to sell tomorrow and keep the cash waiting for bargains to shake out, which I should have done in 2006!!!!

It's just the opposite for mine.  Zillow has it near what I paid for it a year and a half ago, but the county values it at 20% more and charges taxes accordingly.  The schools would need even more levys if they didn't keep my tax rate artificially high.

I'm amazed that you're still trying.  But who knows? Maybe you're paid for a certain amount of time. Anyway...

I responded back to you a few hours ago after one of your responses to me... Proobably, (and I think you probably wouldn'd have, so you probably didn't) you didn't, so I submit my comment again.

Guy, Wake up and see what is happening to us ALL.

Supporting this current paradigm would be and is unacceptable to any rational person.  Can't you see that? (Actually, I KNOW that you can.) You may have assumed that pseudonym with your tongue in your cheek, but I'm certain you're starting to see that this is not something actually sustainable (or all that much fun for you any more, I'm sure),  .  Your arguments are become weaker and weaker each and every day.  Why do I say that? Because the current direction of those that are calling the direction that we are going is less and less rational every day.  Stop being a shill for the enemies of good People .  Those that see and oppose the current (evil, unsustainable) order are not bad people just because they see and are starting to try  to oppose this.  Wake up and join us.  We can make a Better future.

P.S.

Sorry, but don't even think to ask me for any possible solution. I don't know.  I know beyond any doubt that the current paradigm is unsustainable. In fact, my irrational thought  that the world would be a much much better place IF every Bankster and Politician in the world was 5000 feet below sea level would not solve the problem.

Isn't it an interesting set of coincidences that GS issues a public sell proclamation on gold yesterday, then gold mysteriously drops 2% in slim pre-market trading on no news, then former Goldmanite Draghi publically instructs a sovereign nation to sell it's gold holdings (LOL!), and even Paul PencilDick Krugman writes a blathering shit paper editorial all about gold, all in about 36 hours.  What a coincidence!

Major smackdowns and volitilaty are just part of the environment when owning and investing in PMs so enjoy the ride if you dare as the real game is just getting started. That is, the economic turmoil created from some bad MBS and a couple of poorly run investment banks (LB and BS) will be nothing when compared to the massive rebalancing of global wealth that is occuring from the west (too much consumption and debt) to the east (excessive production and foreign reserves).

If you remember, the Fed's recent efforts were primarily directed at stablizing the poor health of the banking system which to a certain degree, it has achieved. Looking forward, the CB's of the world (along with some governments that still think they have a little power left) are now attempting to address the poor health of soverign countries which is expotentially more problematic than the US banking crisis from 2008-2010.

So the way I look at it, gold is simply correcting and consolidating from its first run (early 2000's through 2012 centered on the banking crisis) to set the table for its next run (centered on the soverign crisis). Just be prepared for a bumpy ride and watch gold smack downs not as a sign of weakness but a leading indicator to bigger and more severe/problematic events forthcoming. TPTB all have inside information which will be used to protect soverign currencies as long as possible as once these fail (in coordination with soverign debt), their ability to govern and control the masses will cease.

My view is very simple. We haven't seen anything yet as the only real constant is that public debt levels, whether on balance sheet or off, continue to accelerate at a rate that is simply unsustainable and will lead to an eventual default. The initial kneejerk reaction based on recent history is for gold so sell off with a flight to perceived "paper" currency quality (i.e., the USD) when any sign of trouble is upon on the market. I suspect this will continue for the near future until, as they say, it doesn't. That is when it will get real interesting, very fast.

Although we know how the Irish love their gold, I doubt they will let these scumbags take it from them.  Ireland has got the ties with the USA, they would be messing with some serious ground here. Why don't they try to fix problems in their own countries first IE Germany, Italy, etc or how about going for the real pot  - Spain and Portugal - both much bigger messes with 660 tons.

Gold is kind of a trashy investment anyways. If I was the Irish I sell at the top now while they can.

hey dr. krugerrand...on the issue of doom and markets.  why do i need a financial market to "fix" the price of metals in order to trade gold/silver for a cow, horse or a piece of land.  or even to barter for an alternative local currency?  try to buy silver (and many gold items) from tulving.  very scarce.  the relative value of gold and fiat has little to do with the health of an economy (or society).   when the time comes gold will be valued by those who are self sufficient because they have the skills like farmers, carpenters, mechanics, weavers, seamstresses...economists, lawyers, bankers: not so much

Olli Rehn to Dieselboom: "I told you to wear a green tie für die Irrish day today. Where die fuck did you find das sorry assed lime piece of cloth?"

Dieselboom: "Mario chose it for me in Heathrow. He said Obama wore the same one when he was here".

Draghi: "I did not, this was the Plan B tie, I choose two ties. My mother always told me to bring two ties. There was another, a sort of leprauchaun green. Where is it?"

Klaus Regling: "Ahh, I think we left that one in the taxi when we went out last night. Dieselboom was really hammered and had the tie around his head. I can't really remember much after we hit the Shelbourne."

Krugman, who slams metals, supported the idiotic idea of a trillion dollar coin.  What an idiot.

"Fee", "Fi","Fo", "Fum". We smell the gold of the Irishmen.
Whether alive or whether dead,
We'll take that gold to line our beds.

Next up, Ireland!  It now all makes sense to me.  The Comex and the London Metals exchange have been low on Bullion and most likely unable to meet Bullion demand.  Goldman Sachs knew what was coming because Mario Monte was put in his position because of his close ties with Goldman.  Yesterday out of the blue, without any reasoning Goldman lowered gold prices because they knew exactly what Monte had planned.  Monte tell Cyprus that if the want more printed confetti from that whorehouse they had to sell their Gold.  That of course made everyone think that Cyprus would dump their Gold for paper as would all of the PIIGS replenishing the Comex and London Metals exchange and possibly the USA need for German Gold.  Whenever in doubt, look to Goldman Sachs the most corrupt group of bastards in the world.  Amazing how Soros also knew what the plan was to crush Gold and amazing how prepared the Comex was to take Gold down.  This was all at the direction on Ben Bernanke the lira of the US cesspool banking system.  What an outright disgrace.
