Inchoate Rage
From William Buckler, author of The Privateer
Inchoate Rage
To talk about something as being “inchoate” means that it is still in its formative stages and is undeveloped. If rage is “inchoate”, it does not yet have a specific cause or those who feel the rage are not sure of the nature of what is causing the emotion. Like their compatriots all over the world, Americans know that what is coming out of their politicians and “financiers” is a load of malevolent hogwash, but they cannot put their finger on precisely why this is so. Many suspect the truth but do not want to face it because of what it implies about their own actions as well as the actions of their rulers.
It is a very old adage of the study of history and politics that no form of government can survive - in the long term - without pandering to public opinion. That is why the more despotic the government, the greater the effort they make to “mould” public opinion to their own purposes. All such governments are intent on making it as difficult as they possibly can for their subjects to hear the truth. In fact, they go further than that. All such governments are intent on creating a situation in which most of their subjects would not recognise the truth if they DID hear it. This creates the perfect breeding ground for “inchoate rage”. The people know they are being lied to but lack the ability, and in many cases the inclination, to find out what the truth really is. That is why most political revolutions are so savage. The people who are revolting know what they are against but have nothing but the most hazy notion of what they are for.
The US government claims that the “economy” is recovering. The American people know it is not. The US government claims that unemployment is going down and prices are not going up. The American people know that both are going up. The US government claim that the “extraordinary” financial measures are specifically intended to safeguard the prosperity of the people. Americans know that their prosperity has evaporated and that the government is making it as hard as they possibly can for the people to regain it.
A growing number of Americans (and people right around the world) know all these things. They know that in reality, the government is living on their backs. But their rage remains “inchoate” because they have not yet faced the fact that the “entitlements” they refuse to surrender is what is keeping them in bondage. It is true that Americans are confused and that many if not most of them are angry. Until they face the ROOT of their problems, they are destined to stay that way.

If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.
And you are in the majority.
The majority are outraged. They are outraged that anybody questions their special interests. They are outraged that anybody would think that the price of housing skyrocketing may not be a good thing. They are outraged that somebody might point out that gold may still have value. They are outraged that anybody should question their disastrous indoctrination centers that masquerade as schools. They are outraged when people question the warmongers. "Support the troops", they scream as the television proclaims the navy is a "force for good in the world", as Madison Avenue maggots grow wealthy shoveling the warmonger propaganda to the braindead masses. They are outraged when somebody questions religion, not just their religion, that it may merely be another form of oppression based on hierarchy. God and religion have nothing to do with each other but mention that and they will hate you. They must avoid pork, or fish, or beef because "God says so". Some guy, off by himself where no prying eyes could follow, was told this hundreds of years ago by the lord himself. They are outraged that anyody should think for themselves.
The majority are pissed when the truth leaks into their ears. They are not pissed at the men, and women, that have created the nastiness that rings in the words of truth. They are pissed at the people that should have the audaity to speak the words. They are pissed at you. They are pissed at me. They are never pissed at themselves. For they are victims. And above all, they are never pissed at their masters, the true source of their suffering. They welcome the velvet glove and the iron hand. It helsp them sleep at night. And that is really all that matters.
I was enjoying your post until I found a typo. Now I'm outraged you didn't spell check ;)
And now I can't fix it because you replied. Thanks for helsping me.

Inchoate desires to hang bankers from lampposts...
How many people does it take to hang a banker?
Two.
One to kick the chair out,
and one to clap.
It would be interesting to know if bank depositors would rage about derivatives held in the banking system now being moved to the top of the priority list by Dodd Frank Act and the 2005 Bankruptcy Act - ahead even of depositors?
http://webofdebt.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/winner-takes-all-the-super-pri...
Imagine that the American people realized that they were in a crisis and turned to chrony Barney Frank to save them.
Quote:
Cyprus-style confiscation of depositor funds has been called the “new normal.” Bail-in policies are appearing in multiple countries directing failing TBTF banks to convert the funds of “unsecured creditors” into capital; and those creditors, it turns out, include ordinary depositors. Even “secured” creditors, including state and local governments, may be at risk. Derivatives have “super-priority” status in bankruptcy, and Dodd Frank precludes further taxpayer bailouts. In a big derivatives bust, there may be no collateral left for the creditors who are next in line.
and...
Under both the Dodd Frank Act and the 2005 Bankruptcy Act, derivative claims have super-priority over all other claims, secured and unsecured, insured and uninsured. In a major derivatives fiasco, derivative claimants could well grab all the collateral, leaving other claimants, public and private, holding the bag.
I wouldn't describe mine as inchoate rage...
~~~
Let's call mine, 'CHOATE' SARCASM' focused directly on the root of the problem*... *Which, [problem], of course, is INCHOATE to a lot of people because they're mired in the depths carefully scripted but falsely levied 'guilt pangs', & confectioned in a way to be ultimately covered in a sweet & tasty 'politically correct' candy shell...
But that's just me... It's not all ANGER 24/7... Half the time, I actually get a kick out this kinda stuff...
"...[T]hey have not yet faced the fact that the 'entitlements' they refuse to surrender is what is keeping them in bondage."
Greenspan, Rubin and Summers fought tooth and nail against derivatives regulation.
http://dailybail.com/home/pbs-frontline-the-warning-how-greenspan-summer...
If derivatives were designed to take all of the bank assets in a panic, maybe we now know why they fought so hard against containing derivatives.
At first I thought that I had inchoate rage. Then I realize that I had yardoate rage. Soon it will turn into mileoate rage...
if you google either mileoate or yardoate, it comes back to this article....amusing
Pinto Currency;
Thank you for your informative post. I have read it. At best the references in your post are murky as to the protections that depositors may have under Frank/Dodd. There does not appear to be a clear path for other regulators and the FDIC to follow. In a derivative emergency and panic it is my opinion that the depositor will not be protected. Revised regulations are not being contemplated, as the Financial Media has told the public that all is well under Frank/Dodd. There will no be sufficient time for Congress to fix anything when the sh-- hits the fan.
NWO,
It seems everywhere we look we see stripping of citizen wealth.
Wait for the solution of more government regulation and some new form of digital gold currency.
It will be said that central planning hasn't been given a fair chance yet.
New world disorder approaches.
Here is a way to channel your inchoate rage:
Should have seen the confusion on the faces of the convention goers when the libertarians hi-jacked the vote and got their people in the chairman and vice chair position, in my state, this weekend. The vote was tight and our attempt to throw out the hand selected delegate list missed by one vote only. So, on this local level, one or two people involved can make a difference. If you have time to get involved, you can select your state for opportunities. Contact your local RLC representative for additional information.
http://www.rlc.org/
Otherwise, I'll see you at the next revolution.
Good luck!
Of course not, and the FedRes allowed TBTF to shift the derivatives out of
the trading /holding companies into the depositor franchises over the last 18
months.ie forcing losses onto depositors and or taxpayers.
One church mouse farting is going to bring this house of cards down.
I think the % of people with rage issues stemming from a quasi-understanding of political and financial roots is still pretty small...
Most Wal-Mart shoppers can't grasp that they are directly causing the closure of their own plants and businesses.
Is Wal-Mart a monopsony?
btw my rage must be choate rage, perfected, complete, and certain...
Do you think Krugman is outraged?
Don't be an idiot.
The fat and happy owners and workers who absolutely refused to lower their wages, salaries and other perks, thereby allowing overseas workers and producers to undercut their prices, directly caused the loss of the closure of their own plants and the loss of their own jobs. "Buy American!!" was and is a part of a propaganda campaign designed to try and maintain a status quo that favored some and crushed others.
The owners were old, so were the union bosses. All they cared about was getting themselves to retirement before it all fell apart. They knew exactly how it would eventually play out, but would not give up a penny of what they thought was theirs by right. At all times these men possessed the power to stem the flow of manufacturing overseas, but they used that power to make their own lives cushy at the expense of generations to come.
And you want to place the blame "directly" on consumers.
Um was it not the comsumers who first bought made in Japan, then made China, now made in Vietnam supporting the actions of their corporate masters who commit treason by giving our manufacturing base to the enemy or former enemies? Trading with countries that increasingly sign currency agreements with communist slaver countries that enable cheap labor by absolutely no concern for human rights, freedom and liberty and tell us to fuck off?
Is that what Adam Smith had in mind?
"Everything" goes full circle. There is never one all inclusive answer.
Oh allright. Maybe Chinese currency manipulation had something to do with this disaster. But I somehow don't think that asking consumers to combat Chinese currency manipulation by not shopping at Walmart is an effective strategy to correct or reverse the problem now.
First of all, if you have a valid point to make, why not just let your logic speak for itself? Normally we reserve name calling for the wonks and trolls... be that as it may, your failed argument betrays a fundamental lack of understanding.
Without getting too deep into the politics of it all, the USA awarded MFN status to China back in the 1980's. Do you not think that bizarre? That we would fight communism to the west with Star Wars, NORAD, and the Kremlin/Washington Hotline, Cold War, etc... yet to the east we confer preferential trade and tariff to the 2nd largest communist country? It defies all logic. I will say that again for the hard of thinking: we had a cold war with the USSR because they were 'commies' but we bestowed MFN status upon China because they were 'commies'.
OK so then we also gave US corporations MASSIVE tax incentives to move their operations over to China.
If you can's see the basic point behind my comment, I can't see it for you... The government sold out the middle class and the middle class aided and abetted them by supporting the cheap goods. It became a snake eating its tail and a self-fulfilling prophesy. And, to this day, very few (if any) consumers see their role in it.
And...in the words of former mayor Koch: "I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you."
It's. all about bringing the world into economic equality, we still have a long way to go .......down
"audaity" is a tricky one...not everyone knows what it means.
Left click on your mouse and spell check will pop up as an option.
Most Americans are dumber than a bag of hammers and lazier than than slugs. The notion of "citizenship" as active, dogged participation in all levels of our own government has been lost. It has been reduced to passively watching the propaganda spewed by the media and the kabuki theater of "elections" which are nothing more than popularity contests.
Create networks with your fellow travelers and do whatever you can to prepare for the coming shitstorm. There is no voting our way out of this anymore.
'Participation' is the ruse government plays on those less able to understand the con.
Dont worry the Department of Homeland Security has a plan. (sarc)
HOW governments do this to their people, can be explained below, it's happening with "gun control".
"Gaslighting is a form of mental abuse in which false information is presented with the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception and sanity."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslighting
"The term "gaslighting" comes from the play Gas Light and its film adaptations. The term is now also used in clinical and research literature."
Excerpts from "The Gaslight Effect" by Robert Stern: http://jpfo.org/articles-assd03/front-sight-gaslighting.htm
"You are being told that law enforcement supports gun control when in fact most law enforcement officers surveyed reject gun control.
You're being told that civilians have no need for an AR-15 or 30-round magazines, yet the people who seek to ban them are routinely protected by the same weapons with the same high-capacity magazines, along with their families.
You are being told that gun registration can help reduce violent crime; yet we know criminals are not going to register their guns, and every modern despot who came to power used gun registration to ultimately disarm the public before invoking tyrannical policies.
You will soon be told that the actions being taken are necessary to stop the senseless violence and murder of innocent children. Yet, effective solutions like armed security in schools or the elimination of gun-free zones where mass murders tend to occur, are dismissed outright, all while armed security protects the halls and residences of those in power.
To the weak minded these reforms will seem acceptable. Rest assured, however, that when the next mass murders occur, directly as a result of more gun control shifting the balance of power further into the hands of criminals by disarming the law abiding, the government will insist the changes did not go far enough and they will come after the remaining guns.
You are told gun confiscation will never happen, that gun registration is simply to prevent criminals from having guns, yet gun confiscation occurred after Hurricane Katrina and is happening now in the state of New York and, in the state of California.
Don't think it could happen here?
You are being Gaslighted. You are being told lies about the true intentions of those who seek to take your gun rights by attrition and they have much history to show them how to do it. 170 million people have fallen for this tactic and were eventually killed by their own governments.
Those who suggest this is happening are branded as paranoid conspiracy nuts, a tactic of the gaslighting process. The approach is as clever and effective as it is diabolical and many in America are falling prey to it.
Those who recognize it for what it is will face difficult choices -- comply or resist both of which carry adverse consequences...."
Another perspective and contribution to what is involved in the process of the Washington gun confiscation plans for America.
Check with your local city / town police to see if they are even obligated to respond to your 911 call. There was a court case somewhere in US for no 911 response and town did NOT pay.
Gaslighted then gassed.
Most of the media commentators I encounter that say people do not need an AR with high capacity magazines say instead that people need an AK with high capacity magazines.
There are ONLY 2 reasons to register anything. Either the state wants to tax it or confiscate it. Couching this fact in terms of " public safety" is simply diversion tactics. Unfortunately the gullible public seems to be lapping this up. I guess the last 50 years of public education indoctrination has done its job.
Miffed:-)
Yes, or they want you to 'Insure' it. My state is pushing legislation to make folks insure their weapons.
Insure it? Don't get that. Insure it from what? Normally insurance would be to repurchase the item in case of loss but I don't think this is what you mean. Are you saying this is something to do with liability if said firearm is used inappropriately? I guess I'm lost. Maybe I don't want to know.
Miffed:-)
Why don't you all just play the game, get as rich as possible playing the game, following the Fed money, knowing where QE is going, so you can retire in 3 years when shit really hits the fan!
It is a waste of energy and time complaining about the system, as we all know it has never recovered from 2008.
Then you can sit back and laugh at all "The Stupids" and family that thought you were crazy over the past few years talking about how the system willl crash and how Obama and govt friends are bullshitting you.
That is my plan!
So, the plan is to get rich, then get out?
Precisely what the slave traders said.
Antelope, when chased by a big cat,
relax after one in their herd is caught and killed,
and then simply go back to grazing.
I liken us to them.
I'm envisioning a bunch of tiny gazelles ganging up on a leopard and ending up piled in a circle of corpses around a very fat and sleepy leopard, or maybe just a herd of gazelles running around in circles like beheaded chickens hours after the big cat has ambled off for a nap.
Truth is also often stranger than fiction making it even more difficult to believe
It is very difficult to write fiction because it must be believable. The truth on the other hand can be skillfully hidden under layers of distortion and propaganda. Since we oftentimes are told exactly what we want to hear, which supports decades of being told that "this" is what we want and need, is it any wonder how long the Ponzi has lasted?
This speaks volumes about our conditioned mind and the parameters of the cognitive box our minds remain in. The truth is never obvious to those who wish the believe the lie. We all know this to be true because we here on ZH are STILL waking to all the layers of the lie, including those exposed only when we become more willing to look within.
Life really is like an onion Cog. Layers upon layers.
And the more I peel away, the harder I cry.
Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth > 2000 (now 1866)
Gold > 2000 (now 1477)
Which will be first to exceed 2000?
On the one hand, we have to date 1,866 A&Es who have put their names/business/reputations on the line because the laws of physics and structures -- against their better interests -- tells them there's a 'problem' with the official narrative.
On the other hand, we have gold which we know should be trading higher due to rampant credit money creation, but is not due to overt and covert means of manipulation.
would you believe that the fraud and financial crimes perpetuated by hofjuden are with the consent and direction of the black pope and the jesuit military order in vatican? right under the pope's nose?
edit: Truth is also often stranger than fiction making it even more difficult to believe (credit: headbanger [above])
We are intuitive entities. I have seen more and more awaken to the fact they are pawns. I believe that most people feel like there is a sea change in our common being and it is not good. People are being pressed to the max on their taxes, bills, inflation, daily lives, jobs and are surrounded by pressures that were not so ubiquitous as they seem to be now. I wonder when the true civil disobedience will occur? I think people have reached their limits; the tipping point.
The only question in my mind is what that tipping point (trigger event) will be. There are so many possibilities.
Forward (over the cliff)!
I thought Cyprus would lead to some civil disobedience and am flabberghasted that folks would just roll over to what is common theft in broad daylight with no recourse.
kind of like how the big sequestering issue rolled on its merry way without any resolution
The response I see is "it can't happen here" even when I show them the new laws that will allow it to happen. It seems you must be a fool to believe something bad can happen, even when the government tells you they are preparing to do it, and it has already happened elsewhere.
Among other reasons it was chosen as Turks occupy the NE end of the Island. Carefully chosen as the template for more. Plenty of tactical and strategic reasons for no civil disobedience. Other places will be different so the method will be refined, see Bamsters limit on retirement $.. We will see it, but few others. If you cannot find a leader to help you resist maybe your the leader?
http://vimeo.com/51358084
As long as the government continues to provide for those in need all will be well.
Very well said. Complexity and the consideration of it really is the only 'thing' keeping me alive. We can beat this-:)
This is what I do not understand. We outnumber these fools by 1000 to 1, but we just take it. We do not need to be violent, but we do need to be organized. The media is a major problem in all of this.
"I wonder when the true civil disobedience will occur? I think people have reached their limits; the tipping point."
This is the placebo we comfort ourselves with. True civil disobiedence has occured and it has been dismissed, criticized, crushed and forgotten.
Agree with or not, the occupy movement aired many of the sentiments often aired here. Agree with or not they did have a right to assembly and speech. Those rights were crushed with overwhelming force by armor wearing jack booted thugs, many of whom had sworn oaths to uphold the constitution.
We saw no mass of civil liberties proponents rushing to protect the "rights" of those whom they may not agree with and won't "until they come for me........" after which they will bake in the ovens of the totalitarian jackboots.
For the most part the media focused on the sensationalism and their was no follow up on the role of Homeland Security, constitutional abuses. Instead the media fostered disgust for those who would dare speak.
The media feeds the people what they want for ratings and corporate cash. Including the internet populated by millions of websites preaching their own book. So many in fact that one need never be exposed to an opposing view should they choose not to. And most choose not to!
How many groups of people never got their rights until they got tired of waiting on the government to enforce them and finally hit the streets? How many people had to hit the streets and get beat before we got out of vietnam? That kind of action works. Which is why it is no longer allowed and protestors are shuttled to "demonstration zones" and surrounded keeping those trapped in the circle and those who would join out.
The populace is young or tired and for the most part has no clue what it might be like to risk everything to take a stand.
I heard a would be protestor once say, "Oh I cannot risk going to jail". My response, "go home!'
How many here have actually gone beyond the rants here to actually risk it all.
Keep stackin your gold as martyrdom is expensive, not much appreciated, and currently out of vougue.
How many here have actually gone beyond the rants here to actually risk it all.
Wrong question. Sitting in self-imposed filth and squalor while filled with a sanctimonious feeling of moral superiority, like OWS, is not risking it all.
The correct question is "How many have gone beyond the rants here to stepping outside their comfort zone and investing their own time and money in a focused effort toward a cause they truly believe?" I have. I worked within the system to affect change. This involved attending state legislative committee meetings, appearing on local TV to articulate my viewpoint, holding protest signs, meeting with and organizing like-minded people, recruiting people, and whatever else it took to further the cause - all completely legal activities. And yes, I made a lasting impact for good on the state in which I lived at the time.
The entire system is not broken, just parts of it.
The entire system is not broken, just parts of it.
The system eats up the lives of millions of innocent men and women. Broken or not, it is EVIL.
"Wrong question. Sitting in self-imposed filth and squalor while filled with a sanctimonious feeling of moral superiority, like OWS, is not risking it all."
You apparently did not notice that I mentioned other movements that hit the streets thereby making my pint;. Thank you!
Having lived through the 1960s I can say that the reason we had so much activism then was that their asses were on the line -- literally, their lives. The draft was an actuality that meant that any young person could/would become cannon fodder. THAT, and only that, will define the next real social outrage. One must have something to lose in order to become vocal. Hitting the streets for an ideology alone is the popular myth. There has always been some threat of one's "rights", financial situation, or other loss that makes one an activist.
I will commit an overt act of civil disobedience exactly one year and one day from today, when I file my income tax and refuse to pay any penalty imposed by the enactment of Obamacare. I already duteously avoid SS by running my own business, keeping profits minimal by taking every available deduction (all legal). I've paid enough into the system over the years and as I approach retirement age am planning on not accepting my rightful SS benefits (if I even get any).
Americans need some backbone (some already have plenty: farmers, miners, etc.), but the average working stiff needs to toughen up, IMO, and just stop taking shit from .gov.
"Americans need some backbone (some already have plenty: farmers, miners, etc.), but the average working stiff needs to toughen up, IMO, and just stop taking shit from .gov."
I think the Free Shit Army may disagree.
I have been inspired by your post. I hereby announce my candidacy for President under the banner of the Free Shit Party.
My platform? MOAR Free Shit! If you get a federal government subsidy, that's a good thing, and moar of a good thing is even better. I'll double that subsidy. Have an obscure regulation that insures nobody will compete with your business? I'll pass another one that accomplishes the same result so you are doubly protected. Have a great tax deduction written to order by your lackey congresspersons? Why not amend that to deduct 2x? Getting a transfer payment? I'll double that shit!! Vote for me and honesty in government. BTW, I think nobody should have to pay for anything. That would be contrary to the basic foundations of the Free Shit Party.
Vote straight Free Shit!!
Its like throwing a ball bearing into a very complex machine. You may not be able to predict exactly which parts will break first, second, third, etc BUT, You are pretty damn sure the whole place is going to explode any minute.
I too have been seeing an up tick in the number of people I meet who are getting clued in.
The awakening too is like the ball bearing thing. Once a person reads one topic, it bleeds into another and another.
Exponentially I think it is growing, NASCENT. Is another word
I don't know, Fox News this morning was making the point that low wage jobs are really picking up in a few places (increased employment in "right to work" states), including apparently at the ministry of making up phrases that imply the opposite of what they really mean. So maybe there really is a recovery under way.
There is no spoon!
I guess it is good that things are well for you over there in Schmuckland. The rest of the plebes not so much. Nice diversion though while making no point whatsoever on what this article truly intends to evoke. I look forward to more douchebag statements from you even though I will not read them.
You are obviously a citizen of Cramerica.
I am pretty sure he was being sarcastic by his last sentence. LOL.
i've read "its" other statements before. Usually they are rife with douchebaggery.
when Zimbabwe recovers, then the US will recover.
While we may use a mirror on a daily basis rarely do we ever use it to SEE ourselves as we truly are. The despots who rule are expert at pandering not only to the general public, but they skilfully leverage our own personal vanity, greed and fears. This is why even after revolution the cycle simply begins again. One must look deeply within to discover and understand our external enemies. Only when we face ourselves can we face our tormentors.
You remind me of Vance Packard somehow ... but you are right. In fact, one has to look inside, and get an understanding of the void there has to be, instead of endless rumbling noise from the outside. Only in this void your own thoughts and dreams can come up ...
Godlessness in the Last Days3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres lopposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 18.11
Let that be an example, that you are mentioned in the book, too!
In 1st C Jerusalem there could no greater polar opposites than our dear "tax collector" Mathew (Roman employee) and the apparent "Zealot" Simon Peter (Zealots desired to overthrow Rome). Mathew likely collected the Hebrew "temple tax" wherein Rome financed Hebrew temple maintenance (Hebrews hated this tax because their money when to Romans considererd "unclean").
Does Scripture utter one syllable about difference of political opinion between these two specific Apostles of Christ? No! Why? The lack of comment reflects the level of political relevance to Christ's message.
When Christ says to "feed the poor" notice he does not say to pay someone else (Ceasar) to feed the poor.
Very true.
I would like to point out that Simon Peter is not the same person as Simon the Zealot. See Luke 6:14,15.
You're all very silly.
The Pharisee were certainly not tax collectors at that time [barring minor local neighbourhood taxes]; you're looking for the Sadducees who were in charge of the Temple (which includes religious taxes) at that time.
<insert long argument over Roman tax law>
If you're going to use the 4 New Testaments, please know when they were written. Hint: Not when Jesus was alive.
Karl Denninger noted that several Tea Party members who were elected as republicans, climbed into the pockets of the bankers after they were elected.
Avoid such people.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the "last days" already happened. It is the "time of the end" not the "end of time." The "last days" describe the end of the Mosaic/Levitical/Deuteronomy era. It is the end of the Hebrew/Ioudious era. All NT language describing the end of that era is "normal" poetical/metaphorical language used throughout the OT. The meaning and understanding of normal Hebrew metaphore is consisetent from the OT through the NT. It did not change.
Christ and every NT author wrote that that era would end in their lifetime. In that "generation." You need to learn the meaning of a term called "audience relevance" in order to understand the meaning of 1st CAD language. That language was directed at human beings living in the 1st CAD, not to anyone living today. Jesus meant what he said to the persons he said it when he said, "Before this generation passes you will see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom." A 1st C. Hebrew "generation" was forty years, not 2k years. Unless we walk among 1st C. believers now today, Jesus either lied or already came again. There is/was only a fixed number of "second coming" not indeterminate number, not two, not several, not thousands, but one "second coming."
Hint: every single OT "coming" of God in "clouds" was to pass judgement on His enemies. In the Parousia, God's enemies were Ioudious (not Jews because the word "Jew" did not exist till 1775 AD) or non-believing Hebrews.
Jesus ascended into Heaven in a "cloud" and Scripture states he will "come again in like manner." Every 1st C Hebrew knew this meant His next coming in a cloud would be in judegment against His enemies. "The blood of the Prophets you spilled is come against THIS GENERATION."
C. S. Lewis rightly undestood Scripture when he wrote that every single NT author including Jesus wrote and believed that Jesus' Parousia (second coming) would occur in the lifetime of 1st C. believers. C. S. Lewis well comprehended his reading assignment.
But C. S. Lewis came to the wrong conclusion about the above authors. Because C. S. Lewis did not understand the "spiritual" nature of the Parousia, he wrongly calls Christ a liar. Yes, indeed, C. S. Lewis states that Christ and the NT authors were wrong when they predicted Christ's Parousia would occur in their (1st CAD believers) lifetime. I'll quote book and page upon request.
C. S. Lewis lied, not Christ, and not the NT authors.
In the late 19th C most believers believed like me on the matter of the Parousia. "Futursim" (belief in a still futuristic coming of Christ) was a very small minority of believers.
Guess who started brain washing believers into believing that God promised "land" (Israel) to his flock rather than Messiah bringing spiritual forgiveness through vicarious atonement of sin? Oxford Press when they published the Scofield Reference Bible in the early 20th C.
i post it just for the message, not the prophecy
my beliefs are entwined with many of the new age spiritual awakenings that came about from the 70's into the 80's but they focus more on the 'how' we exist not really the 'why'.. they usually point to the Tao for the 'why'.
The Bible is mainly a tool for creating a viable fabric of society.. some religions say you will be judged by god others say karma will balance everything out
I do believe in soul progression, and that experiences is the only wealth it keeps.. but since we are on the physical plane, we must play by its rules too.. a dual existence
2 Psalm
1 Why do the nations ragea
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
7 I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall breakb them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Happens to me all the time.Have this image of myself as a young strapping rugby player
that I was.I avoid mirrors ,and my shortsightness helps a lot.
Still shocks me when I do get close up to a vanity.
Let the sheeple graze peacefully before slaughter.
On the brighter side a lot of my clients are finally waking up ,and buying gold,
lots of gold..
Have you ever wondered why so many people dislike pictures and images of themselves?
When we look in the mirror very subtly and without conscious thought we distort the reflection of our own image both physically and mentally. We may cock our head slightly to accent our best side or lift or lower our chin to hide wrinkles or sag while mentally we "air brush" out many imperfections. Thus we don't really see reality when we look in the mirror. We do this in real time, instantaneously in fact, thus there really is no lag that might be perceived as 'the tell' that we are in fact doing so. Plus we really don't want to see ourselves clearly in the first place.
When looking at a photo of ourself that image is frozen in time and the distortion process we usually apply cannot be accomplished seamlessly and unnoticed. I 'see' myself as I really am, warts and all. Not very pretty after seeing only what I want to see in the mirror.
This is not to say that we only see perfection when we look in the mirror. Not at all. The distortion process is subtle, sort of like looking through the foggy shower glass. We are all there, just a little fuzzy and unfocused.
Or people look VERY closely at themselves, as closely as their eyes can accomodate, to look at a specific feature or two but never the whole. That way they can see what it is they want to look at and avoid the rest. Sort of like how most everyone deals with limited reality.
Excellent point. Either way (by way of general obscuring or narrow focus) we are for the most part blind as a bat and mentally enfeebled.
What really chaps our ass is that while we thrash about looking for someone else to blame for our blindness, all it takes to once again see the light is the willingness to maintain a steady gaze and the honestly to accurately perceive what we see.
For the most part we are slaves by our own hand. The good news is that the reversal process can begin the moment we gather up our courage and look within for better questions and the answers that spring from asking those better questions.
LSD helps.
So I'm told.Prefer pyote myself.
Jena, this is true and I have found myself doing this time to time. I believe this stems from the belief in society's glamorizing certain features as beautiful and branding others as ugly. If you listen to this and believe it, you are forever caught in its web. Especially for young girls who are told they have no worth unless they are sexy and beautiful. Just as young boys are indoctrinated they have no worth unless they are successful and make lots of money. How many times I look confused at my husband when he says " you are the most beautiful woman that walks the earth" when I see a 5'4" short waisted women that could lose 15 lbs. He sees me as a whole person: mind, body, vivacious, intensely alive and curious. I see myself as a sum of various parts, all of various worth. Reality is feared because of the judgement that follows. Judgement is the issue and the inner Voice that perpetuates it.
Miffed;-)
Thank heaven for our husbands, Miff. I still see the man I met over 20 years ago. I realize things have changed but to my eyes, he's still the young and handsome guy I met in a bar and married four months later.
I know that there is a great deal of discussion about women and self-esteem, and for some out there it can be rought. But I'd posit that it is every bit as tough out there for men. They just don't talk about it, or are given the room to talk about it. But their self-worth takes a beating in so many ways, especially in how society has modifired male roles and how they are valued. Just take a look at a few commercials on regular television and you get an eyeful of how undignified the average dad is viewed by advertising.
I'm kind of tired of the low self esteem argument of young women. If you want respect, don't wear yoga pants that say "Juicy" on the seat. Does that make me sound lke my mom? Probably. She was on to something, though.
Yes we certainly have a lot to be thankful for don't we! Being fortunate to have a partner who loves and respects us is invaluable and I do pity those here that don't have that. There does seem to be quite a few.
I'll counter you on the idea men have it as bad as women today. I feel now they have it far WORSE. In the last few years I've been truly appalled about the media's treatment of men. Either there shallow fucking machines or blithering idiots that must look to women as their saviors. One of the reasons I cancelled tv. This was what was being sold as entertainment? This recession has been particularly brutal for men and, yes, I see them suffering and no one seems to notice or care. The pressures on men today are astronomical and they generally don't have a way to deal with emotional stress. Being stoical Is they're only way and I've seen men in my sphere begin to crack. Lots do angry men out there now and that's usually a sign of deep depression in men. Frankly they have a lot to be depressed about. I always go out of my way to talk to them if i can and draw them out, let them know I care and am not a threat. Many have a great suspicion of women for good reasons.
I do practice power yoga 4 times a week but I don't have Juicy on my ass! I'm glad all the men and women at my studio don't wear such clothes and are serious in their practice. Funny thing is I have seen stupid girls walking around wear that at the malls. Stupid shitheads probably throw more work for me in the STD lab. How can one demand respect when you wear idiosy as a badge of honor? It's embarrassing really.
I've being plagued with low self esteem most of my life but when I stopped running from the demons, turned, faced and did battle with them I truly ended it. Having self esteem means finding your own self worth and not valuing youself based on what others say you are. It means not allowing others to place you where they want you. It means being strong and courageous. No one can bestow self esteem on another, it must be won by the individual. Unfortunately American modern education seems to think by giving everyone a trophy saying "you're wonderful"is emparting self esteem. Now we have a generation that seems to be running around wanting to be stroked all the time. Very sad.
Miffed;-)
When I look through the glass darkly, what is right is left and what is left is right.
Maybe it's just because the average person is butt ugly and they know it?
What will it look like here as the rage spreads? Hard to say, but I recently visited the Exarchia district/Athens with an eye to seeing what can be learned about social unrest and economic activity in high density urban areas after the misery of years of austerity. This district is the origin of many of the rioters you see in Syntagma Square. Having been at the forefront of the austerity inspired economic downturn and the associated social unrest, it may serve as an example to other high density urban areas in USA/Canada/Europe as the downwardly mobile economy spreads. Decentralized polities, more local micro economies and disenfranchised youth will play a greater role in the future of all of us. See more at: http://tinyurl.com/cpwqle5
H.L. Mencken said something like "Americans will always choose security over freedom".
he also said "no one will ever go broke underestimating the intelligence of the american people"...
P. T. Barnum, actually. (I think.)
I think what he said was "no one ever went broke by underestimating the taste of the American public".
Later. I did a quick search and came up with what apears to be the original statement by Mencken, 1926
No one in this world, so far as I know - and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me - has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain
people.
I believe this to be untrue. There are thousands of products that failed and went off the market because they were lousy. In spite of being pushed on the public by the best propaganda Madison Avenue could produce.
People today are in an 'inchoate-yawn' stage where any intelligent information is greeting with a yawn that is always in the formative stages in the mind of an idiot.
There is another legal connotation to inchoate.
Vicarious offenses such as conspiracy or solicitation, whereby the inchoate offender is equally liable as the perpetrator of the act itself.
How many inchoate offenders are there implicated in the greatest fraud on earth?
Less than seven billion and more than one? ;)
Dont worry they will divert or focus your rage on something else....gun control, abortion, immigration...have Dems and GOP take opposite sides and rant like hell to stir the masses up......and thus while you are occupied raging at the circuses you wont see them for what they are.
Another annoying troll removed by Tyler this morning. These SOBs seem to be increasing in number of late - perhaps a growing sign of desperation by those fearing the message and influence of Zero Hedge.
I noticed that myself as well --- "MittRomney2012" was just banned, while I was in the middle of responding to one of his nonsensical trollish posts.
Good riddance, and "Trololololo".
i'll give back my entitlements if i know it's for the greater good. too bad i had to pay into these 'entitlements' for 35 years, tho. just think, if i'd known how the system really worked i'd have just been buying myself gold for the past 35 years. i know that it's called 'entitlements'; but when i was working they called it contributions to one's social security for old age. some people will lose everything because they trusted the gov't. it's a good time to talk about Grandma Jo again. When i was a kid my Grandma Jo (born 1915, god rest her soul) railed against the government! Grandma Jo was always warning us kids to NOT trust the government & NEVER go into the stock market. she was right. i was wrong... i trusted. my trust is long gone, just wait til the rest of the population wakes up.
Speak to anyone who lived through the depression. See how many of them still keep cash "out" of the banks. Their trust was destroyed forever.
Yet how many generations are between now and then. That is history and memories and realities have faded being replaced by the meme that insures it will happen again.
"But their rage remains “inchoate” because they have not yet faced the fact that the “entitlements” they refuse to surrender is what is keeping them in bondage. "
How well crafted this article. All agreeable until you arrive at the one sentence designed to avert your focus from the real enemy. Designed to re-enforce knee jerk emotional reactions between the haves and have nots.
As if entitlements come close to money stolen without accountability from the public by the corporate/government alliance. Some ill defined word that includes what? Money that was yours to begin with, taken, not returned and you are told you are the problem if you would prefer to have some of your money back as opposed to starving.
Are their those who abuse the intitlement system? Of course! Are their abuses equal to wholesale theft perpetrated on the public the money changers?
Who is the "majority" of those among the priviledged who have been "made whole" since 2008. The conditions and causes of such that continue to this day. Who is made whole daily in a volumeless market pump that most can no longer afford to participate in? The House always wins.
Totalitarian systems have long understood that they must throw crumbs to those they have victimized to keep them fat and stupid and unable or unwilling to stand up and throw off their chains.
This is nothing new, it is historical. Crap begets crap. Always has always will.
The truth in the article is that "we the people" are to blame. We allowed ouselves to become brainwashed and divided and fought among ourselves while the true enemy has finally acheived untouchability as demonstrated by the impotence of the justice department and it's minions.
The truth has been rehypothecated. There is a little bit everywhere. But nobody knows who has it our what it is worth. What it is never was, but shall always be!
Yes, you want some of it back. You gave the money like you were told. But you gave it to a scam artist, a thief, and he squandered the money on hookers and blow. Now, to get you yours back, the thief must go and steal it from many others. But now there are fewer 'others' from whom to steal, compared to those who have been stolen from.
My grandmother paid in her 3%, and now I pay in my 12% so she can get her 3% back. Fast forward another generation or two, and will my grandchildren be paying 48% so I can get my 12% back? What about their grand kids? You can't pay 196% of your income in taxes.
nope. but they can work and live for the 'state'.....that is their future.
unless you bite the bullet now and make a stand.
@akarc
We are to blame only in the sense that we have trusted the laws, the politicians, and the bureaucrats with our lives, currency, and liberty without actually reading and knowing the laws. There is definitely truth or affirmative reality that can be found. But the laws are in the hands of scoundrels that can change the laws at whim.
Let me give an example: I bought a house and worked with an escrow company.
The escrow officer assured me that I would receive full title by purchasing title insurance.
1. The reality of the transaction is that I don't need any title insurance.
2. There is no law that I must purchase Title insurance.
3. The UCC specifies that title is conveyed intact even if the sale of the house was done by fraud but the purchaser bought the house in good faith. (Very handy when you are a bank and illegally foreclose) The bank gets to steal a house and convey title intact to the new buyer.
4. The title is conveyed based on the stipulations in the deed. End of story. And in my case, the property had 4 parcels. Parcel 1 would be "covered" by title insurance, but the other three parcels that defined easements for utilities and county irrigation would not.
How many people realize that the title is automatically conveyed under UCC?
How many people read the deed?
Why are people charged fees for title insurance?
It takes some digging to get to the reality of the situation.
Now about entitlements....
1. Social Security is a tax.
2. There is no legal requirement for you to have an SS number. But they've made it hard to work if you don't.
3. Because you have consented to be taxed, the government is not required to pay you back anything.
4. The SS Administration keeps sending you a statement of account to make it seem as though you have an account with them, which seems to guarantee future payments.
Anyone can disabuse themselves on the reality of social security by reading the congressional remarks on the House/Senate floors where the enabling legislation was
debated and enacted.
Who read those papers before signing up for Social Security?
You have to get it, "to give it back." wake up
The term "entitlement" has been intentionally bastardized. Social Security, Medicare, and Unemployment Insurance are true entitlements. You and your employer pay into the programs and the worker is entitled to the benefits when and if they meet the qualifying criteria.
SNAP, heat assistance, Section 8 housing, Supplemental Security Income, etc. are NOT entitlements. They are welfare (charity). They are meant to help support folks who desperately need assistance. They are paid for by the more fortunate among us, who do not expect anything in return except perhaps some gratitude.
Somewhere along the line a bunch of Social Engineers and politicians objected to the stigma of the term "welfare," and decided to call welfare programs "entitlement programs" instead. Now folks are "entitled" to welfare benefits the same as folks who have worked and paid into the system are entitled to their SS, Medicare, and Unemployment. We have a huge government infrastructure dedicated to ensuring that even the worst anti-social loudmouthed useless eaters get all the welfare benefits they are "entitled" to.
This dramatic shift in perception has occured during my lifetime.
Its the broken record with songs about horses that I like to beat on around here, so you can all feel free to ignore tldr; exit 0;
.... but it is the tax code. Americans spend 2 million hours navigating a 80,000 page tax code every year. Even if you find a pavlovian trigger for your lifestyle choices, acknowledged by your ever so smart government in official forms ... you know somebody it getting more out of it, and they might have made that life choice simply to get the tax cut. They are not a genuine follower of life path 3342, described on 400 pages sprinkled through the modern secular religious dogma manefesto. Those people are simply opportunists, you are the devote.
And if you dont agree with that .. It is the centrally planned reason 100 year old techhnology like an automobile costs 2 times the median income. Your neighbor writes it of their taxes (along with maintenance, insurance, storage) to drive to work. You also need a car to drive to work, but you don't get to write it off.
For another example, if education is important to get a better job. Why can the socialogy major making $50,000 per year at a D.C. 501c3 think tank write off student loan interest, but the radiology technichian making $80k can not write off student loan interest?
And just to get it out of the way, both Obama and Romney pay less than 20% effective rates, but each would authorize IRS raids on people they think should pay 30%. They give alot to charity. What if you can't afford to give money to charity to lower your tax rate?
I am past being mad. I took action and help people fight the banks in illegal foreclosures. Hint: the assignment of mortgage (or substituion of trustee in Deed of Trust States) is forged, fraudulent, void and invalid and I help people see why. So what do we do to fight the banks? Move your money! Sell their stock! SHORT fucking BofA! Find ethical attorneys who understand the banks are continuing criminal enterprises....as we here all know. Oh yeah, fuck you Bernanke.
Diversion...focus rage away from TPTB
There are 73,954 pages in our tax code. You're doing great America!
Obozo's corrupt idea of "fair share"
Scumbags.
Exactly. Creates the divide and conquer mindset "Well if you are paying too much in taxes you should donate to a charity. Its your own fault."
Should I donate to the charity that provides food for hungry people, or the charity fighting the epidemic of obesity in the poor communities? I give my blood to american red cross, but they don't pay me, so I can't write anything off. But they sell it to the hospital for $150/pint. And being a nonprofit, this means they need to expense CEO pay at a couple of million to stay that way,
I might suggest the EFF.
All men have had to deal with being the target of this once a month.
The lower fertility and birth rates are not an accident...we are under attack by our politicians.....the use of floride in the water is a deliberate attack on your physical self...the politicians are definitely afraid of an angry male population...and weel they should be...they know that they have not led us well...they know the dastardly deeds that they perpatrate on the citizens....they kill as many babies as they can they dumb down the students; they poison the population with floride and other destructive chemicals....what does it take for you to act.... BarakaDoc says that whitie is a coward...was he right?
I've often wondered what the inner cities would look like without abortion, access to handguns, drugs and alcohol.
Um........probably like the slums sourrounding Rio de Janeiro.
I'm kinda.....all inchoate up'ed about it.
Come on assholes, live today, for tomorrow we die.
http://www.kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/Broadcast/Entries/2013/4/13_A...
I am in possession of "inchoate rage" because I didn't own more E/S contracts from two years ago at 1,300 and only shorted ten instead of a thousand cars of gold at $1875. What a total piss-off.
If Roosevelt was the new deal .... this is confiscate the deck .... and pass out Bitemecoins !
The New Deal was replaced by the Fast Shuffle and the Stacked Deck.
Having gorged themselves on credit, Americans are now eating themselves to death. Having pathological liars in government is one way by which they can feel better about themselves.
I used to be disgusted, now I'm just amused.
I stopped being angry when I lost faith in the species; the Stupids have overwhelmed all aspects of society, its just simple numbers now.
I agree! Stupid should HURT!
I find it discouraging that people talk about when or if the collapse occurs. I am not expert but I feel certain that the nth collapse occurred in 2008 an we are still dealing with the repercussions but have in no way recovered but have papered over this problem with money printing on a coordinated global scale. The us and other countries are buying thier own (and each others) debt and forcing contries to borrow more maintain the appearance of solvency.
The collapse has already progressed to the point of a loss in faith in the system and a collapse in the rule of law and in prospects for the near future. I think we are entering the everybody for themself and "drink today for tommorrow we die" phase.
From what I read its a repeat of what's been happening for the last few hundred years. It seems we've never really progressed passed the robber-barron, pligarc, crony capitalism that requires a core of royalty to organize the serfs.
There is a rage one gets trying to explain the problems to the common Politcally Correct retard, when after five seconds they turn around and start grinning inanely, and then burst out with smirking laughter. Women are the worse, particularly old women. Old women with government non-jobs. I hope to have the last laugh, when I'm feasting from my prepping cupboards while the peasants with their liberal arrogance are competing with the streetscum for food.
"The Stupids"
Perfect.
I smell a movie.
Or a reality series.
"But their rage remains “inchoate” because they have not yet faced the fact that the “entitlements” they refuse to surrender is what is keeping them in bondage."
It isn't "entitlements" (safety nets) that are the problem. It is the rich getting richer (the top 1%) and the wealth disparity that is causing the "bondage"....
My friend is otherwise usually very sharp. He rails constantly against hand outs to drug induced welfare queens popping out unwanted babies you and I must later feed and cloth in prison. But he wrongly does not admit nor realize his war mongering is entitlement for rich builders of war machines and bankers.
It's all entitlement, all of it. It's all either direct funding toward voters in the form of government employees or money to rich industry owners in bed with politicians. It's all central planning and it's all entitlement spending.
This is not news. One of the fathers of the USSR predicted all this about 80 years ago. We just vote ourselves wealth from the treasury. No politician on earth has the guts to say stop because then he's out of office (not that they do so bad on the other side of course).
The economy appears to flourish here where I live. Really. There are only the most isolated evidences of the depression, such as the largest and most "high-end" clothing store closing in our "Small" (aka mall). But do I benefit from the economy? Of course not. House is still underwater (though only about $15k), congestion, non-English speakers up the whazoo, etc. Somehow, best I can figure is the PD here are pretty tough and jail here is absolutely horrible (as reported to me by someone who spent time there), still no apparent increase in crime but you know it's inevitible. When I moved here 2007 people often left doors unlocked.
Its getting warm outside...
