Nobody has the answers yet of course, but I've always wondered to myself how this country has essentially been immune from bombings/suicide attacks on a larger scale. Our country is so large, our borders are so porous, and there are so many people that hate us. After 9/11, I thought for sure the next attacks would be shopping malls, movie theaters, smaller sporting venues, supermarkets, etc. I think you could do MUCH more psychological damage to a nation by detonating bombs here and there, all over the country. For the great majority is citizens, these attacks always seem to happen in NY, DC, etc. If terrorists were to start popping off nail bombs in towns in Missouri, Colorado, Idaho, etc., they could impress the point that nobody is safe ANYWHERE. Thank God it hasn't happened yet of course, but I'm just really surprised we haven't seen more of these bombings in this country by now.

These Bostoners need to toughen up. There was wall-to-wall wailing in terror for minutes over two bombs that managed to only kill two or three people.
When the US was bringing freedom to Iraq a bombing like this might only quicken the step of an average Iraqi on the street. The video would not even have made the evening news in Baghdad.
