Farage Unleashed: "You Are Common Criminals"

Tyler Durden's picture

"Years ago, Mrs Thatcher recognized the truth behind the European Project," UKIP's Nigel Farage reminds his European Parliament 'colleagues', "she saw that it was about taking away democracy from nation states and handing that power to largely unaccountable people." In one of his most wonderfully vitriolic remonstrations, the fiery Farage blasts Europe's leadership, "this European Union is the new communism." Slamming Olli Rehn and his Troika cohorts for "resorting to the level of common criminals and stealing people's money", Farage warns, rather chillingly, that, "it is power without limits. It is creating a tide of human misery and the sooner it is swept away the better." Simply put, he concludes, the European Parliament is living out a federal fantasy which is no longer sustainable.

Full Transcript:

Years ago, Mrs Thatcher recognised the truth behind the European Project. She saw that it was about taking away democracy from nation states and handing that power to largely unaccountable people.

Knowing as she did that the euro would not work she saw that this was a very dangerous design. Now we in UKIP take that same view and I tried over the years in this parliament to predict what the next moves would be as the euro disaster unfolded.

But not even me, in my most pessimistic of speeches would have imagined, Mr Rehn, that you and others in the Troika would resort to the level of common criminals and steal money from peoples' bank accounts in order to keep propped up this total failure that is the euro.

You even tried to take money away from the small investors in direct breach of the promise you made back in 2008.

Well the precedent has been set, and if we look at countries like Spain where business bankruptcies are up 45% year on year, we can see what your plan is to deal with the other bailouts as they come.

I must say, the message this sends out to investors is very loud and clear: Get your money out of the Eurozone before they come for you.

What you have done in Cyprus is you actually sounded the death knell of the euro. Nobody in the international community will have confidence in leaving their money there.

And how ironic to see the Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev compare your actions and say, ' I can only compare it to some of the decisions taken by the Soviet authorities.'

And then we have a new German proposal that says that actually what we ought to do is confiscate some of the value of peoples' properties in the southern Mediterranean eurozone states.

This European Union is the new communism. It is power without limits. It is creating a tide of human misery and the sooner it is swept away the better.

But what of this place, what of the parliament? This parliament has the ability to hold the Commission to account.  I have put down a motion of censure debate on the table. I wonder whether any of you have the courage to recognise it and to support it. I very much doubt that.

And I am minded that there is a new Mrs Thatcher in Europe and he is called Frits Bolkenstein. And he has said of this parliament - remember he is a former Commissioner: 'It is not representative anymore for the Dutch or European citizen. The European Parliament is living out a federal fantasy which is no longer sustainable.'

How right he is.

Farage is brilliant. Unfortunately he is still seen as too much of a one man band party in the UK.

His party also gets labelled racist. THis is due to the Labour Party having managed to conflate race and immigration, to the extent that no other party previously dared to admit that immigration was a problem.

In the UK we spend about £10 per head per week on imported food. We have an unsustainably large population that cannot have uncontrolled numbers from Europe added year on year.

Jezus Christ , if i need to watch a Nigel Farage clip to be pointed to the remarks of a former Dutch leader of the "libertarian democratic" party blasting the EU

on a widely viewed national broadcast...while mingling with a semi-representative cross-section of the  Dutch population every day, i must conclude that public awareness of what might

be wrong in the world today is so non- existent that i am wondering why i even take issue with it.

Hej , maybe i should watch more T.V.

Though I admire Mr. Farage's courage & respect his stewardship to his constituents the overall implications are STAGGERING - if the Euro pushes through it will require the abdication of sovereignty & force millions into 'financial repression' - If the Euro fails it unhinges the ENTIRE world's financial system as the Euro has become a very significant position for Central Banks "basket of currencies", public/private institutions, & pensions, et al ONLY to name a few....How in God's name would it be possible to capitulate on the Euro & not have a MAJOR World War? And the implications? STAGGERING - I have no idea how to describe all the consequences - Good Lord save us from ourselves...

One thing is for sure.  Regardless of a financial repression, people will be in control of their own desitinies.  When the majority (and lets be clear - more like 99%) have nothing left to lose, then the only objection you are going to get from a total Euro collapse, is from the 1%.  Time to take back one's freedom, because being held hostage to asinine policies and thoughts of the troika will only continue to destroy capital formation, savings, and the commitment to peace even further.  Its like that old oil filter commercial put out by Fram some time ago - "you can pay me a little now, or, you can pay me a lot later."

Banks have to fail.  Bond holders, stocks, everything that has been artifically propped by Draghi's ponzi has to take a haircut.  All of the monetary malfeasance has to be liquidated.  Better to take charge of your own welfare than leave it in the hands of people who simply do not give a fuck about you.  In my opinion, this is what it comes down to.  Keep it simple.

Good Lord save us from ourselves...

That is almost my prayer, except for one word change. Instead of ourselves, I substitute the banking cartel.

And actually the predictions of world catastrophe and even (this is a new one for me) world war from the unraveling of the euro is pretty much the essence of banker propaganda. It’s always “you better save the banks or we will all suffer.”  That’s patently false. And speaking of divine providence, nothing Bastiat ever wrote was more important than this, from THE LAW…

“MY ATTITUDE TOWARD ALL OTHER PERSONS is well illustrated by this story from a celebrated traveler: He arrived one day in the midst of a tribe of savages, where a child had just been born. A crowd of soothsayers, magicians, and quacks—armed with rings, hooks, and cords—surrounded it. One said: ‘This child will never smell the perfume of a peace-pipe unless I stretch his nostrils.’ Another said: ‘He will never be able to hear unless I draw his ear-lobes down to his shoulders.’ A third said: ‘He will never see the sunshine unless I slant his eyes.' Another said: 'He will never stand upright unless I bend his legs.’ A fifth said: ‘He will never learn to think unless I flatten his skull.’

’Stop,’ cried the traveler. ‘What God does is well done. Do not claim to know more than He. God has given organs to this frail creature; let them develop and grow strong by exercise, use, experience, and liberty.’

“God has given to men all that is necessary for them to accomplish their destinies. He has provided a social form as well as a human form. And these social organs of persons are so constituted that they will develop themselves harmoniously in the clean air of liberty. Away, then, with quacks and organizers! Away with their rings, chains, hooks, and pincers! Away with their artificial systems! Away with the whims of governmental administrators, their socialized projects, their centralization, their tariffs, their government schools, their state religions, their free credit, their bank monopolies, their regulations, their restrictions, their equalization by taxation, and their pious moralizations!

“And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May their reject all systems, and try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgement of faith in God and His works.” ---- Frederic Bastiat's Parable on the End of Law and Human Liberty

Schrodinger's Cat?  It could be thought of as a great loss or a great gain at the same time. You wont know until you "open the box" so to speak.  However, it's not like there wasn't a world in place before the EU.  Why couldn't it move out of the Euro just as orderly as it moved into the Euro?  Why would "the world fall apart?  OR perhaps the world falls apart for the few and not the many and the few elites are the one's that shit the bed and spread the "total disaster" scenario.

Demosthenes : fluent orator, demagogue and empty wind bag to many...notably Philip of Macedonia his main latter day political rival who challenged decadent Athens; could that be current UK?

Demosthenes (On the Crown, 321–22)—Faced with the practical defeat of his policies, Demosthenes assessed them by the ideals they embodied rather than by their utility.

Paparrigopoulos extols Demosthenes' patriotism, but criticizes him as being short-sighted. According to this critique, Demosthenes should have understood that the ancient Greek states could only survive unified under the leadership of Macedon.

The whole EU is an economic catastrophe. Nobody can deny it.

The erection of the euro has done more than any other policy to strangle the economies of Europe and has unleashed wave after wave of financial volatility and destruction of European productivity.

It is the WORST policy I have ever seen in any industrialised country in my lifetime.

The EU was founded as the political and ruling organ for Europe's newly financialized economy. As the economies shifted to financial and banking elites, these elites needed a new policial system that would short circuit the inconvenient democratic nation states of Europe, which stood in the way of a financial oligarchy in Europe.  The EU and it's currency, the Euro, offered a chance to totally change the way in which Europe was governed. To eliminate the powers of elected parliaments to get in the way of banks, manipulated markets and the big trading houses of Europe.

The European elite was now based on financial institutions and the NATO military force. Behind this was a unified police state apparatus that was expanding it's reach to all nations. The new police state was formed with the goal of being the EU's domestic enforcer inside the formerly independent nations of Europe.

Bankers, Corporations and market makers now had the force of government, military and police to rule Europe with. Once the regulations were dropped in banks favor, they quickly let greed get away from them and they destroyed the European economy in quick order. Now, with the economy tanked, we see the EU leaders of Brussels for what they really are. Agents of banking, agents of financial institutions like insurance, real estate, agents of the big trading houses, agents of hedge funds, etc. etc.

In order to save the European financial elites and their banks, we saw the attempt to transfer all the losses onto public balance sheets. This money is now owed by taxpayers to bond holders, stock owners and corporate CEO's and banks. The cost is trillons. Using Brussel's EU powers, they are slowly going state to state and ordering the people to hand over their taxes, their bank accounts and their social insurance benefits, even their health care. It is being handed over, on Brussel's orders, to the banking and financial elites across Europe.

Iceland is the lone nation, fortunately not a full EU member, that has rebelled against the EU dictatorship. AT first Brussels threatened the Icelanders with Cuban or North Korean style international isolation and sanctions. Fortunately, the Icelanders refused to surrender their nation to the EU criminal gangs. For now, Iceland hold firm against the EU dictators. That is why the corporate controlled media has grown silent about Icelands recovery, Icelands free democratic system, Iceland's refusal to be be debt slaves to bankers. This rebellion could not be stopped by the EU. One reason the EU backed off, was behind the scenes negotiations between the Icelandic government and Russian financial officials. It was not that Iceland was going to become allied with Russia, but with Russia standing on the sidelines with bags full of money and a willingness to offer good terms for a long term friendly bailout, the west was forced to back away with it's violent threats.

Iceland got just cozy enough with Russian officials to make the EU understand, that if threatened and isolated with sanctions, Iceland had a willing nation, flush with money, willing to help break any EU embargo or sanctions. The last thing NATO wanted was an Iceland becoming even half way friendly to Russian economic, financial and naval interests. Just the very thought of a Russian airfield open for the use of russian aircraft is all it took for NATO to sound the alarm bells. I believe that this possible Russian aid to Iceland was what made the EU back down. They did back down, only after making severe threats to sanction and isolate Iceland and to break them as a nation.

Once the hints of talks with Russia went public, I noticed that the EU quickly grew silent and backed away from their threats. Even the UK stopped bemanding that Icelandic taxpayers make good Icelandic bank debts to UK citizens.

I can not prove it, but I suspect highly, that Icelandic moves towards friendly talks with Russia caused NATO to step in and order the EU to back down and leave Iceland alone. NATO wants Iceland to stay an agent of NATO. the threat to cozy up to Russia would be enough to panic the NATO forces.

it's a shame that Farage's nailing it on the Euro is dampened by his radical domestic policies in the UK.

He really is a modern day Louis McFadden.

He's very good at lambasting others, and orating, for sure; let's wait to see how he would perform as a minister trying to defend a decision. Quite recently he was asked something by a TV anchor, that his party would need to take a stand on (I can't recall), and he hestitated a bit. Probably not used to being asked his views on random social policies or whatnot..

Oh, probably he did not answer to hide the very fact he would lead the very same policies.

Farage is an 'american'. He does not disagree with the system, he disagrees with the person chosen to be in charge.

Sadly, I beleive you are tragically mistaken.

Rather a gang of criminals own the world and everything in it and control your perception of it and determine where you live, how you live and if you live. Democracy had a chance to overcome this and has pretty much failed. We are just enjoying the view of the criminals at each others throat as we all go down in flames together. There is no happy ending to this story I am afraid. Best to pretend that all is well.

Government actually has only a marginal influence over my life.

I don't fear the government, I can outmanoeuvre them. They are like a bunch of monkeys steering an oil tanker.

Farage speaks for the City of London.

Today,that's 'americans' vs 'americans'.

As a good and honest 'american', Farage does not disagree with the system as a whole. He disagrees with the choice of the person put in charge of the system.

Farage would definitively prefer his sponsors to be put in charge.

For the system,he never missed an opportunity to tell that he supported it.

Today, that's 'americans' vs 'americans'. And yes, 'americans' will have to eliminate each other in order to remain at the top.

Farage is just one of the mouth pieces for some of the contenders.

Brilliant stuff from Farage !!!

And the problem for Cameron is that by spending last weekend with his family at the weekend retreat of Merkel outside Berlin, he gives the impression that he doesn't really have a problem with how she's running the EU & EZ. And that the Troika and its jackboot policies of economic/social destruction are OK by him.

He needs to step back, make a few critical speeches to tell the world that the EU is the new EUSSR and give the British people an In/Out vote on membership. Else he will lose a lot of votes to UKIP come 2015. And that will open the door for Red Ed Miliband to become the next British PM. And anybody still awake already knows he and his Labour Party is fully in support of the commie/fascist EU.

The EU may have its troubles, but Farage is a megajerk. Invoking Thatcher as an icon while folks in the UK are sending "Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead" to the top of the pops tells you precisely what a crank he is. It's nice that Nigel knows something about gold and nice that he can mouth off to authority, everyone here can admire that. But such 'clan' ties and eye-catching methodology are not sufficient to hide the fact that Farage is another utter fascist poodle of the Americans. Including the guy as one of his regular interviewees is Eric King's second biggest mistake - the biggest being Jim Rickards who King evidently finally realised was being paid to work for the other side.

The ones sending [ "Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead" to the top of the pops] are the welfare recipients who don't want to work and won't as long as their government will steal it for them from the working class. Don't look for any of it to come from the pockets of the rich. The world simply doesn't work that way. lmao

very true your comment.  but what he says is true also - except - it is the half-truth.  he's just whinging because the germans beat the brits to it.  that's been history.  the 'poor' germans were so land locked they never got to enslave to the point that the sun never set on their empire.  the empire is so faded that they want to do it economically.

can't we all stop trying to topple each other?

You clearly do not understand European and British history.  For centuries, British policy re Europe has not been to attempt to conquer Europe but rather to prevent any other single power conquering it.  To that end it has supported Germany, Russia, Spain and Portugal against France when France was the aggressor, it has supported France, Belgium, Holland, Poland and others against Germany when Germany was the agressor.  It has supported Germany and other European countries against Russia as a potential invader post WWII.

It is certainly true that Germany is now colonising the rest of Europe, without firing a shot.  Like most cases of colonization, this will eventually be rejected by those who suffer under the colonization, and Germany will pay a high price for its actions, since it will certainly not end up gaining much wealth from the countries it is now colonizing and whose people have no desire to be Germans.

First they come for your money, then your property. What's next, a free ticket to a German forced labour camp.

Germany is persuing war by other means, with the sole goal being the complete subjugation of all of Europe.

You loan money to countries you know full well can not pay it back. Why?

So they become generational debt slaves to you.

THE DEBTER IS ALWAYS THE SLAVE.

Troijka can do everything they want. No real reaction in the southern of europe in the last three years, so I guess this is just the beginning. They can do what they want
