@ Pharming:

"We no longer trust our leaders.  We no longer trust our government to make the right decisions." <-- Perhaps this is because they have a long-established track record of lying, cheating, and stealing?

In the case of the Boston situation, the only question to ask is: "Who stood to gain anything from the Boston bombing?" <- Those people are the guilty parties.

Loving your country is a good thing to do, but there is a major distinction between that, and supporting the shameful actions of soulless people.

If the 'muslim terrists' really want to make a difference, they would whack banksters.

The fact they don't is just circumstantial evidence the banksters control AQ, etc.

hudred years ago, US had mormon terrorists who were fightining for "freedom".  any group that is marginalized and dehumanized will have elements that will react violently.

we are lucky that muslim radicals have not learned, and in fact have refused to take advantage of technology.  when they do,  watch out.   until then, lets just keep droning.. it's working so well.

"  Not all muslims are terrorists, but 95% of all terrorists are muslims."

95% of people being shot at by invading armies, bombed by pilotless drones and sanctioned into despotism by the UN are also Muslims.

It's the Chicken and the egg.

Terrorism isn't simply blowing things up. You could argue the silkiest suits in the finest leather shoes in the tallest buildings with the fattest wallets are bigger terrorists than the fool moved to extreemism by witnessing their own destruction at the hands of those policy makers and contract bankers.

He is a Chechen rebel.  Do a little bit of research.  Not all muslims are terrorists, but 95% of all terrorists are muslims.

When the muslim countries start going overseas to start 2 to 3 wars, that last a decade, or when they start sending out predator drones to blow up wedding parties, or start handing over money to despots that rule over their victims with impunity - then they will have reached the level of the United States.

But because the US government does all this horseshit, well, it's not terrorism.  It wasn't terrorism for the United States to overthrow the Iranian Democracy in 1953 with Operation Ajax.  It wasn't terrorism to utterly destroy Iraq either over weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist, and if you think the people of Iraq feel better off because of that war, you've not talked to one.  It wasn't terrorism to support the Taleban in the early 1990s either.  It wasn't terrorism to give the dictator Hosni Mubarak billions of dollars to stay in power either.

No, that's just, I don't know, goodness and shit.

But when some assholes kill 3 people, or 3000, compared against the what, 100,000 (million?) people dead in Iraq - or the uncounted number of dead from sanctions over a decade - well, no reason to get upset over that.

Why do they hate us?  I don't know.  They must h8 us 4 R Freedumb.

Dey is tewworists after all.  They have no logical reason to dislike our lying, scumbag government at all.

I fucking hate people like you.  You let your government do all this horseshit, won't make a peep of protest about it, and then when anything happens in this country, you cry like a fucking baby whining about them evil muslims.  Look in the mirror - you're evil, because you collude with it.

Spot on.

The more I see daily the US mass-reaction to this the more I know there is no hope of them growing the hell up in time to neutralise much worse occurring. Such ignorance and complicity is not amenable to logic and reflection on the fundamentals and dynamics of the situation. That apparently goes much deeper.

The need to 'empathize' with your enemy, simply in order to understand their motive (I refer to Robert S McNamara's use of that word) in a situation the US itself created many decades ago is almost completely absent.

Thus rendering the dismal spectacle of public 'debate', MSM hype-aganda, alleged US Diplomacy, and Defense-planning for counter-insurgency a self-evident counterproductive nonsense - basically moot, because none of it will address the root grievances that motivate action. Instead it all seeks to ignore it.

99% of the masses in the US are not interested in motives, they don't want to face that it's a natural reaction to massively failed us foreign policy and hopelessly failing military doctrine and disposition. Just look at the footage of 'adults' milling about to applaud police and soldiers, as though what has occurred represents a triumph of good over evil-doers.

But instead they want to view it dishonestly as an isolated gratuitous event, a one-off of incomprehensible premeditated belligerence and insanity, rather than as what are probably considered rational actions connected to and motivated by an uncountable multitude of past atrocities committed by the US Govt and its 'citizen' soldiers and agents against hundreds of thousands of families of also entirely innocent people.

I'd expect a LOT more of this sort of backlash. It's a deep mistake to think the US Govt will ever make this environment of hostility other than much worse than it currently is.

It will in fact  be up to the people to grow the hell up and stop their Govt from continually making things even worse, in this childish drive for ever-unattainable 'security' from death, harm, loss or injury.

This is not Alice in Wonderland, but from the mass's reactions to the US security-state fantasies and boogie men, you'd never know it.

Sat, 04/20/2013 - 10:52 | 3476875 aerojet
aerojet's picture

You're so fucking stupid.  Our foreign policy is failed, but these two selfish little assholes were taken in by stupid ideology that preys on the weak-minded.  As the uncle said--they were losers!  I don't think either one truly sat around thinking about US foreign policy, but rather their own selfish little lives.  The people enabling this behavior are the leftists--every single mass shooter was a Democrat, every single one.  Dorner, a Democrat.  There is a very definite trend going on here and a very definite reason why.  Visit any US college campus and spend any time there and you will see the celebration of victimhood and irresponsibility.  It is everywhere in the US, and *that's* the problem here because it leads us to having the leadership that we now have.

Sat, 04/20/2013 - 13:12 | 3477196 Element
Element's picture

The uncle did not say they were "losers", he said anyone doing such things were "losing", he even clarified that point when asked about it again by a reporter.

No one knows what the motivation is, nor where or when they decided to take this path. the passion for revenge and payback seems to be the only thing that makes any sense of their subsequent action though, not mere ideological capture and mental tune-ups.

It takes time, experimentation and testing to build up the materials and skills to make such bombs (and 'grenades') for attacks or defense/get-away. Especially for Muslims to do it, entirely undetected. It's more likely they were prior-trained or assisted by people who already knew how, or else made the bombs for them or supplied ingredients. So these young-men probably did not decide to do this only six months ago. The intent probably goes much further back. And at least one of them was driving it forwards.

If they were radicalized via Islam (and it's hard to see how they weren't radicalised, but was it by Islam, or by observed events?) it's only because they were prior-enraged toward revenge by actions that already had them wanting to inflict payback on equally entirely innocent people.

Otherwise the "ideology", which you seem to want to over-emphasize as their actual motivation, would have fallen on deaf ears.

Look at it this way; If I came to your country and killed half the people in your suburb, "Oops, sorry 'bout that!" And made a habit of it, would you feel you needed some religious ideology or verbal motivation to come after me for this and pursue payback? Or would your endemic regional religion merely be coming along for the ride, and yet would have almost zero to do with the fact that you want some payback? To make me feel what it's like to have my suburb chewed up and spat out nonchalantly? Should I or would I irrationally interpret your actions through the lens of Christianity then? No! That would be completely fucking daft! Regionally endemic christianity would have practically nothing to do with your actions other than that you came from a nominally christian country of origin.

So all this baseless muck-raking and shit-talking about Islam is plain daft, as the actions of all such attackers may have very little if anything at all to do with their religious heritage, but may have almost EVERYTHING to do with what the fuck we've been dropping on their villages.

But by all means keep quacking nonsense about Islam being the core problem, and ignoring the super-aggressive people bombing and invading them, to make them want to come to the US and do that back to you.

Just call 'em "losers" and dead-enders and attack them more, as that'll stop them coming after you for sure. Just because you assume they're idiots, does not mean they're as stupid as you. It just means you didn't empathize with your enemy, so you misunderstand the motivations, how they relate to you, and your attitudes and behavior - not to some regionally endemic religion.

Fortunately the people of Vietnam and Cambodia did not judge all of Christianity based upon the vicious remorseless mass-murdering behaviors of regionally endemic US 'christianism'. The US's attitude and delusional culture today still seems a far bigger worry than North Korea, most of the time.

And I don't think that's in any way an exaggeration.

It was obviously a carefully prepared and measured speech (and I'm sure there were different versions prepared for different outcomes). And for good reason. Despite all the kneejerk reactions from FAUX the fact is we DON'T know who was behind this and what their motives are. It really amazes me. You guys are the ones always bringing up 911 conspiracies and who was really behind the attack, and now, for once, we actually have a suspect in custody with the chance to find out who the sponsors were and possibly links to puppetmasters behind the sponsors, and yet you guys are pissed because we don't immediately jump to conclusions and blame Al-Quaeda before all the facts are in. Brilliant!

As I say over and over (it's almost a cut-n-paste response) "follow the money." In my experience it's the money trail that ultimately leads to truth. Do people plan and carry out attacks for ideological reasons? Of course! But I'm talking about the sponsors of terrorism, the people behind the actors. What drives them? What are their motives?*

That's where we need to go. And even deeper down into the rabbit hole. Who are the ultimate puppeteers behind the sponsors? Ask any terrorism expert and they will tell you that a competent planner will put AT LEAST 2 degrees of sepration between themselves and the attack. That's a minimum of 2 degrees--the more advanced the planner the greater the separation. It's a very complicated chess game requiring deep, subtle thinking, the thinking of a Grandmaster analyst. Not the thinking of a ham-handed conspiracy theorist.

Example: Is there any reason why TPTB would want the current Chechen govt removed and another put in it's place? Are there various oil and gas interests who have designs on Chechen pipeline routes? That's how you need to think about these things. What does the big money want and how far are they willing to go to get it?

My take on who done it is simple. The boys with guns let Joker live. That means they don't need to silence him to keep the truth from coming out.

It's apparent that they weren't fitting into the "Great Melting Pot" and were being pissed on by their peers. Big brother is quoted as saying he had no American friends. Easy to believe.

These guys probably took a ration of shit every day for being outspoken with religious views that don't charm the average Bostonian, or pretty much anybody else in these here Untied Snakes It's gonna make you pissy, even in the best of families. And obviously their parents were doing a great job of teaching them how to live right from 6000 miles away.

Based on that, my useless observation is that these two assholes, working on their own, decided to kill a bunch of people to give a little back, and maybe for the thrills. Judging from the videos of their reactions, they weren't exactly horrified.

Piss off enough useless psychopaths and you'll keep getting Columbine or Boston Marathon or Goldman-Sachs.

He let slip he was an editor at the Washington Post! Washington Post editor talking on TV with Nancy Grace? As likely as Krugman calling in to the Rush Limbaugh show. Then over to NBC where Brian Williams happens to be interviewing another person who happened to witness the bombing. An anchor for an LA TV news stations. The only way you could have involved more of the liberal news media in a terrorism story would be if these guys had bombed the National Press Club!

In 2011, Ortiz's office was responsible for the prosecution in GlaxoSmithKline general counsel Lauren Stevens. Ultimately, the court dismissed the case, ruling that "it would be a miscarriage of justice to permit this case to go to the jury.

US Attorney Carmen Ortiz has the duty – one she has during her three and a half years in office shown no inclination to shoulder – to convince the public Bulger’s prosecution is not just another chapter in thirty years of Justice Department cover ups of its own criminal activities.

?Instead, she has defended the indefensible, as she did shielding the Justice Department against damages claims by Bulger’s victims.

And, of course, it was Federal Prosecuting Attorney Carmen Ortiz who helped drive Aaron Swartz to suicide!

19 years in most of human history indicated an adult, fully responsible since several years already, and often a parent too. The infantilization the Media talking heads put in the discussion is Orwellian. The state wants us all rendered children, coddled, irresponsible.

This would be the right time to point out that Miranda was and remains an embarrassing decision insomuch as reading out the little formula goes. The constitution is there and very citizen hold be accountable to and aware of it, for example the right to STFU. A perps failure to STFU is an opportunity for the rest of us to convict him or her on the cheap and itis their dumb asses fault not knowing what is in the bill of rights.

JPM Milan raided in theMonte Paschi probe

Which follows the Vatican Bank scandal that shut down a JPM MIlan sweep account

"On March 30, the Milan branch of the global investment bank JPMorgan Chase will officially close the Vatican bank’s account No. 1365—held by the Institute for Works of Religion, or the IOR—on speculation that the account is being used for less-than-immaculate financial deeds"

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/03/21/jp-morgan-chase-closes-...

Incidentally 1365 happens to be the yer of the Alexandrian crusade,,

The brief Alexandrian Crusade occurred in October 1365 and was led by Peter I of Cyprus against Alexandria. Relatively devoid of religious impetus, it differs from the more prominent Crusades in that it seems to have been motivated largely by economic interests

What is so disturbing is that your question even has to be asked. We are turning into a police state and the majority seem to be all for it. The ideal of America is dead.

The guys in tactical gear, roving locked-down neighborhoods, are the most frightening aspect of this. Fuck that teenager in a boat...I'll handle him if he shows up in my back yard. But fucking tanks in the street? Scares the hell out of me that I'm more afraid of the "good guys".

We're so incredibly fucked.
