Just one more in that long list of good reasons to not own a boat.

Just a piece of info...

Brazil's TV Globo (by far the largest TV network in Brazil) main evening news programme 'Jornal Nacional' has given pretty much top slot to the Boston bombing over the past few days. Friday night, they even interrupted the prime-time soap opera twice to report news updates and the capture of the 19yo suspect bomber. Interrupting a soap opera in Brazil is possibly unprecedented !! Although my Portuguese is not fluent, I can safely say that what they are reporting is the 'official' line from US law enforcement sources. No queries, no questions, no alternative opinions from their correspondents in Boston and NY.

Ya, its Globalization of stupidity. It is spreading all over the planet.

A 100 years from now the entire planet is going to be like those characters in Brave New World.

I don't know why people can't see through these psychological dramas, but they can't.

This will get me a million thumbs down on here but what do you propose people have done instead who lived in Watertown?  Formed their own vigilante patrols that went around through private property and private residences if necessarily administered mob justice to anyone they thought might be aiding and abetting or wasn't giving into the mob's requests to search their property or residence?

I am always baffled on here by people who think mob of angry citizens are just, fair, and principled while observing the rule of law.   My firsthand experience down in Brazil and Venezuela are every thing but that.

I am deeply troubled that there is more to this story than is being admitted to publicly and that it will be a precursor to more 'security provisions' including more police/homeland security spending, more bending of the 4th amendment, and more drones/cameras/etc.  I just don't understand why people think mob justice by citizens is a good solution to these problems.

I don't think the suggestion was to send out mobs looking for the guy *as an alternative*, MeBizzaro. The disturbing part is that the assembled army looking for this guy essentially put thousands of people under house arrest because... well, the cops/federal army can't protect anyone if they go outside. The reality: citizens are a nuisance to their live Call of Duty game. If everyone is ordered inside, then only criminals will be outside and the entire city becomes a free-fire zone. ATF accidentally blows your teenage son away? Sorry, but he should have sheltered in place as ordered.

So how come the top FLIR image shows the suspect with his head toward the bow of the boat and the 2nd image has his feet pointing toward the bow? it it looks like the forward hatch is open in the top image and closed in the 2nd. And the images appear to have been taken 40 minutes apart. I dont get it.
