Moments ago, in addition to White House spokesman John Carney announcing Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who became a US citizen several years ago, will not be treated as an enemy combatant and that he has just been charged under seal, the FBI released a "status update" on his health condition, which is listed as "serious."

According to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev remains in serious condition. The FBI is releasing this information at the request of the hospital.
At least nobody can accuse the FBI of speaking too much, as neither can J-kar, whose throat wound is preventing him from speaking at all, but from what we understand he is communicating through writing.
The White House said Monday it will not treat the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon attack as an enemy combatant.
White House press secretary Jay Carney said that Boston suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev would be tried as a terrorist in the federal court system.
“This is absolutely the right way to go and the appropriate way to go,” Carney said a Monday’s White House press briefing.
A number of Republicans have called on the Obama administration to declare Tsarnaev an enemy combatant and put him in military detention in order to gather intelligence from him.
““It is clear the events we have seen over the past few days in Boston were an attempt to kill American citizens and terrorize a major American city,” a group of GOP lawmakers led by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said in a statement Saturday.
“The suspect, based upon his actions, clearly is a good candidate for enemy combatant status. We do not want this suspect to remain silent,” the senators said.
The Obama administration argues that it can gather intelligence from Tsarnaev in the federal system, and military detention is not necessary.
Carney listed off a number of prior cases, including the attempted Times Square bomber and “underwear bomber,” where federal interrogators gathered intelligence from the terrorism suspects.
Tsarnaev has not been read his Miranda rights yet, as the federal government has invoked an exemption that allows those rights to be waived temporarily when there is a threat to public safety. He remains in serious condition in a Boston hospital, according to the FBI.

The FBI Story: Epic Fail
The easiest crime to solve is the one you plan yourself.
Unfolding news stories are now revealing that the FBI was notified by Russian intelligence back in 2009 that they believed Tamerlan Tsarnaev was an Islamic extremist terrorist. According to recent news, it appears the FBI interviewed Tamerlan (the older brother of the two Boston Bombers/Terrorists) in 2009 and again in 2011, but didn't consider him a real threat, although they monitored his flight back to Chechnya, then his return and creation of an Islamic fundamentalist Youtube site --- fitting the standard terrorist, or random terrorist, profile!
Yet somehow, the FBI could not connect those most obvious dots once again?
They claimed they didn't wish to infringe upon Tamerlan's rights, yet during this very same time the FBI illegally made numerous preemptive arrests of activists and community organizers, conducted intense spying on the Occupy Wall Street movement, and were involved in their usual setting up and entrapment operations (inducing poor people, usually with subnormal IQs, to agree with their contrived terrorist plans, then arresting them).
So, if these Brother Bombers were random terrorists, fitting the standard profile --- and not set up by the FBI --- then once again the FBI has been shown to be a thoroughly useless organization, when actual terrorists, the type who don't go shopping for explosives and incendiaries at the FBI itself, disappear off the feebs' radar and awareness!
Thus, the feebs of the FBI, led by Robert (Truesdale) Mueller III, has been successful only in creating false terrorist ops and threats, then arresting those they induced and entrapped, and also removing the political competition for Robert (Truesdale) Mueller III --- referring to Gen. Petraeus, whom the FBI investigated out of his position at the CIA.

When you have the NYT questioning the FBI's methodology, then the FBI has to demonstrate why we need them.

It's also interesting that apparently everyone who knew these guys indicated they were not violent and this does not fit how they were. Sure, maybe they were putting on a front for 5+ years but usually there are signs where if a person did somethng like this you'd be able to see they could do it based on their personality and their affect.
Always interesting in these events now how the person they say is responsible is one who shows no signs of violence or that type of behaviour. Apparently they just poof snap and decide to kill/hurt strangers at the strangest places like a theater, elementary school and a marathon. I guess it is that evil gene.
If this was a set up and these guys are indeed patsies then I give the people behind it credit for at least actually doing an act which we got to see people visibly injured from. Not like the Sandy Hoax which I am 99.99% certain didn't happen since every single piece (and/or lack of) of evidence says it was a complete hoax from green screen use to changing stories to no pictures of anything to procedure from the cops, EMTs and coroner not being followed to the point none of them seemed to care that there were supposedly dead bodies inside the school. A shame if that Adam Lanza guy did in fact exist and was alive up until that time and now he will forver be villified for something that didn't even happen. That or he was paid off to be the poster boy of that farce and is living large somewhere with the rest of his family under the witness protection program. I suspect if he did exist that he died long before Dec or he is still alive somewhere . I suppose he could be locked away in Gitmo. That's probably it.

Deval Patrick actually saw that video. He didn't. He described in detail what the video showed, in his words, "as it was described to me."
And the post mortem photo of the elder didn't look like he'd been too runned over to me. And the conveniently released carjacked dude whose sole proclamation has been that "those are the bombers". And the fact that everyone who could have been eyewitness to the takedowns was under lock-down, EXCEPT for the one who decided that blood on the boat was not abnormal and warranted breaking martial law.
I'm not generally in the tank for conspiracy theories, but this whole thing is conveniently devoid of a lot of evidence.

I haven't seen anyone ask it, so here's my question. According to authorities there were at least 5 unexploded bombs. Assuming that only one can fit into one backpack, how come the 7 explosives were planted by only 2 kids?

Those kinds of questions make you a crazy person. Also, don't bring up the fact that there's supposedly a video of them placing the bombs, but we the public haven't been allowed to see it for some reason.
And certainly don't point out that the media and everyone else — including the governor himself — persist in repeating the claim that this video exists while also saying they themselves haven't actually seen it yet, either, they're just going off what they've been told by government officials.

It is unlikely they will share their prize evidence till the trial. While I am not a lawyer I think releasing a video of a suspect doing something would taint a future jury.
The other 5 weren't bombs, but "suspicious packages" that were handled like bombs until they could be cleared. This was all announced later on that evening, by the governor (if memory serves).
