Proof market is "controlled". Watch the rebound to exactly where it was pre hack. That is all but statistically impossible unless the thing is being run by a program
It will go higher than pre-hack. The dip does not even concern buyers. That makes them want more. Sudden swings = buy more. Futures pinned at highs.
Normally that type of move would dampen the markets - meaning they would not tank but would drift off highs. No way in this market at all. Its all in all the time.

ahh, i remember the good olden days when the fastest strong algos would often get it wrong. but their momentum ignition would trigger trend/breakout follower algos so that prices could move 50 ticks and then immediately start a whipsawing reversal around the last price in a big fast large pennant/triangle.
that was back when news trading programs used newswire headlines feeds converted to XML at the source, and sometimes that gen 1 source-side conversion made the news ambiguous and easy for a machine to misinterpret.
nowadays, while there may be some back and forth in the first minute bar it could be just ordinary bargain hunting versus stop loss orders of significant size.
news-trader bots have improved significantly and they seem to cover much more than newswires coming in as XML. seems like there's some quite sophisticated artificial intelligence algorithms to parse langauge for economic implications. too bad for me i never got that Ph.D. in AI ...
