"The Battlefield Is The United States Of America"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Simon Black of Sovereign Man blog,

When you’ve got a guy like Senator John McCain who says “The battlefield is the United States of America,” it tells you that almost nothing is safe in the Land of the Free.

Whatever remains of civil liberties is going to feel the full brunt of the state’s boot heel.

They’re already regulating some of the most fundamental aspects of life, from how we are allowed to educate our children to what we can / cannot put in our bodies to the very nature of money.

People are forced to hold their savings in insolvent banks backed by insolvent insurance funds backed by insolvent governments. And those insolvent governments have demonstrated that they are perfectly willing to directly confiscate accounts.

Retirement funds have proven to be an easy, tempting target. A number of countries including Argentina, Ireland, and Hungary have appropriated private pensions. Even the US government temporarily dipped into federal employee pensions.

Western governments are making every possible effort to take over the Internet. Despite every previous attempt (SOPA, PIPA, etc.) failing due to public outcry, they keep trying and trying (ACTA, CISPA, etc.).

They’re raising taxes, creating new ones (including Maryland’s new ‘rain tax’), imposing capital controls, racking up debt, and rapidly devaluing their currencies.

It all reeks of desperation… and it’s all so obvious. At least, for anyone paying attention.

Unfortunately it’s easy to lose sight of the truth. After all, how can there be any economic problems when the stock market is at an ‘all-time high’ and Nobel Prize winning pseudo-scientists tell us that debt levels don’t matter?

Truth is, these enormous challenges shouldn’t be ignored. The entire global financial system is sitting on a bed of dynamite. Central bankers are dousing the pile with gasoline while politicians are standing around smoking.

The potential for epic disaster cannot be understated.

This is not to say that the world is coming to an end. Far from it. History is quite generous with past example of once-great civilizations that collapsed under the weight of their own hubristic debt.

Things didn’t end. They changed. Simple. And that’s what’s happening now in a textbook fashion.

Governments in trouble almost ALWAYS resort to the same destructive tactics. When things are clearly on the decline, rather than INCREASING freedom and opportunity, they try to control EVERYTHING.

We’re already seeing the early stages of this with competitive devaluation, basic capital controls, and bank withdrawal limits.

These will soon give way to wider capital controls, increased border controls, wage and price controls, asset confiscation, and more.

It only delays the inevitable. The more they control, the more rapid the deterioration becomes. Again, this isn’t some sensationalist prediction; it is the very common historical trend.

The other thing that history shows us, however, is that there are always a handful of people who see the writing on the wall and take action. And that action has almost universally involved looking abroad and diversifying internationally.

This is a time-tested strategy that was once available only to the wealthy landed class. But with modern air transport, digital communication, and global competition, solutions are now available to just about anyone.

I’ll be honest with you– moving one’s assets, business, and even family overseas isn’t easy. These are complicated topics with numerous tax, financial, and professional implications. So go carefully and rationally.

But when structured properly, history shows that a well-informed offshore strategy can have a generational impact should chaos ensue.

And, should nothing ever go wrong in the world, you won’t be worse off for it.

TPTB must have McCain and Reid on tape in pedofile acts, both are so incredibly corrupt and lack any decency.  Whenever you hear either one talk or defend something, they come across abnornal, like they have no choice.  Watch them carefully, very unusual.

Not sure if this is true or not, but years ago we saw a picture of a monument in Vietnam dedicated to McCain.  That's right, Charlie aka "the enemy", felt McCain's inside info was so valuable that they made a shrine to commemorate him!  Funny thing is, they spelled his name wrong-McCann!

According to a quick google search, it just commemorates his being shot down.

However, here's a slightly more in-depth article about one of McCain's rescuers on that day...

it's the Daily Mail, though, so cave emptor.

Within the Various States of Detroitifiaction everything is rehearsed, it comes from years of MIC control. All new modified patterns of behavior are first practiced for study, then analyzed for iterative effect and possible alternate solutions and variables.

Misfire Mclame single handedly almost burned the aircraft carrier Forrestal down to the waterline when he shot off a missle out of his plane while on deck. Personally I think he was shot down by his own wingman just to get him the fuck away from his other aviators. He is a walking gimped up douchbag who no doubt sung like a bird, ratted out his own men while captive and willingly provided a warm sphincter to the camp commander during his stay at the Hanoi Hilton.

People have no idea how bad the fire on the USS Forrestal was.   I swear this guy is was a Manchurian candidate before he got to Hanoi.  Name any f**k who caused that much damage to a ship besides that Italian sea captain for Carnival/Costa.  McShame killed more people.

Is it really known that McCain caused that fire or is that another wild Internet rumor?  I don't see how someone, even the son of an admiral, could ever live down causing such a calamity and be able to rise in politics.  Then again, when someone is bad at programming, they are often made into a manager.

Time for American men to drop the political correctness crap theyve been indoctrinated with since the 60s.

Its not that a dislike of ineffective profanity is a problem, IMO - - - but that some people feel the need to chastise others about it like someones prissy aunt.

Grab a beer or two and some snack food and rent the movie Fight Club, it may help.

P.S. - if you havent seen the movie an incentive to see it is that the character Tyler Durden and this websites tagline comes from it.

Big +1 HA for pointing out a fundamental change in the character of the country.  The past 50yrs or so have seen the increased feminization of men, and the rise of the victim culture.  The women in my family (and coworkers) frequently attempt to "correct" comments I make that they deem insensitive (too honest), or a challenge to them.  I think it's better to be seen as disagreeable man, than a marginalized wimp.

ChanceIs, If you use the word "cunt" in the UK it can be used for both men and women. In the UK cunt is just another world for asshole, prick, jerk, fuckhead, etc, etc. You get it. Cunt is a generic swear word in British slang. It is not a special slur for women. That would be the word "slag" for women. "Tosser" for men.

Just don't think America is the whole world, you don't set the standard for word usage in the UK!  Men call other men cunts all the time. It means "Fucking jerkoff asshole" or something like it.

Pithy, but as others have pointed out, less eloquent than effective. I mean effective, because McCain's point could be the opening of a brilliant and righteous speech in the hands of the right Senator to oppose him on this. It's like McCain is handing Rand Paul the perfect opening to continue what he started with his filibuster.

McCain's words, more fully, from The Hill:

“These tragic events bring home again that this fight is far from over,” McCain said on the Senate floor Tuesday. “The battlefield is the United States of America, and anyone who doesn’t believe that is ignoring the recent events that we will hopefully overcome.”

Where is Paul, anyway? Paul got momentum and gravity out of that filibuster; he'd be heard if he would vigorous deny that the US is a battlefield and assert that overreacting to Boston only jeopardizes liberty and the American way of life. It would be a bold step to make that kind of speech in the Senate, especially given the way fear brings conformism to the Hill, but it's the kind of boldness that would resonate and cause a very real reaction against that fear. It's the kind of moment—the kairos—that real orators (not teleprompt readers) are born to seize. Too bad Paul's gotten sucked into trying to defend his liquor-store comments; he could make a brilliant stand here.

McCain is (as Freddie correctly notes below) a piece of shit.

He's a fucking warmongering motherfucker who needs to shut the fuck up. ANY excuse to lash out at others he's on.  He is the poster-child for why we need to stop creating these wars.

From Paul Craig Roberts (

On April 11 the establishment French newspaper, Le Monde, reported that the al-Nosra organization affiliated with al-Qaeda is the dominant force in “the Syrian opposition,” not democratic revolutionaries. Despite this fact, Washington’s puppets, France and Britain, are pushing the European Union to send arms to the al-Qaeda affiliated “Syrian opposition.” And Senator John McCain wants US airstrikes on Syrian government forces with whom the US is not at war, in order to provide air cover for al-Qaeda’s takeover of Syria.

Yes isn't it. The South had a strong Irish immigrant community. But the North at the time of the Civil War was getting a new influx from Ireland and they were heavily recruited by the Union Army.

Great Grand dad enlisted in the 3rd regiment New York cavalry Co. F

after a few years service he got invalided out for lung infection. After getting better back home in New York, he recruited his own unit of men and entered with them as an officer in the 90th Regiment New York Infantry.

He saw out almost the entire war in units that were on various occupation missions and was not heavily involved in the Great Battles. I have looked though a list of his units engagments and find the heaviest losses in one day were 6 killed and 16 wounded in the regiment. To survive the civil war was often just about where and when your unit was moved on the battle field.

I would love to know the real motivation among the newly arrived immigrants like my Great Grand father. I think as a new person in America he wanted to prove his loyalty. In fact in later letters he wrote, he often spoke of his devotion to the USA and was very proud of his civil war service. He belonged to all the veterans associations and was active in them till he died in 1919.

Well, we can take pride in them, both sides. I have some nice photos of him as an officer. They are a source of family pride. Hope you have the good fortune to have records. I have gotten his military and veterans records from the National Archives. We learned a bit more form these copies. It cost us only 35 dollars to get the records copied and sent to us. Not sure if that is possible with the southern armies. They most likely kept scanty records.

I think that we all owe it to oursleves to go study the psychology of "normalcy bias."  If I understand it correctly, it implies that we desperately want to see things as "normal."  You cost $4K for four years, everybody gets married when they are 24 and has 3 kids and a Volvo wagon, and everybody is richer than their parents.  When we look around and see that none of that is happening, we say to ourselves...sure it is, you are just a pessimist.  Then you wake up at three in the morning with a cold sweat.

We also need to study:

1) cognitive dissonance,

2) Stockholm Syndrome.

“We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.”

Just read some on McCain....I didn't know that fucker caused the Forrestal fire by pulling out the Circuit Breaker on his A-4 HEIU (High Energy Ignition Units) and then pushing it back in?

So while the engine was cranking and without igniter sparking, he had 'Start Fuel' being dumped into the can (Combustion Chamber), followed by 'Secondary Fuel'....and then this fuck head resets the CB and ignites the flame thrower onto the F-4, which is more than likely covered in a cloud of fuel vapour.

And he can't even come clean about it????

It speaks volumes about America actually...not the accident, but the lack of punishment of people within the power structure.

While I don't have the kind of zeroes to my name that a few of these so, I've opted for creating a modest version that I hope will work for us -- if we have to pull the rip-chord.

Nice that he's so bi-partisan, though.  There's money on both sides of the isle.

I do have a question as to whether taxing Internet sales is in fact Constitutional. To my knowledge the Supreme Court has never struck down a tax...on the other hand it was the Federal Housing subsidy and the Fed's response to it that obliterated the totality of the American middle class. Now they get "rewarded" with another Wall Street, "sales tax"? Perhaps we could start by saying QE is doing fine by the Banks and Wall Street..."and we'll rely on them to generate the tax revenue from here on out." I'm sure there are 50 Governors who would breathe a sigh of relief on the "undertaxed Americans."

"To my knowledge the Supreme Court has never struck down a tax..."

Outside a poll tax, no. And probably never will again ceding the power to tax, to Congress. Thats how Roberts twisted himself into a Gordian Knot in order to judge ObamaCare was a tax, which is weird and is a poll tax was what it stuck down (citing amendments) as a right to they say government can force participation (even in commerce) through taxation.

With that precedent now set and the right circumstances, I could force Mzzz Feinstein to buy an AR-15.

The battlefield is the US?  That must have been the plan.  An orderly modern society, say Sweden or Switzerland, requires a difficult-to-counterfeit national ID card, so that banks, schools, hotels, post offices, know the person is legitimately in the country.  Otherwise a visa and passport should be required.  An immigration policy which requires careful vetting of potential immigrants before they enter the country should be in place.  We could, for hundreds of years, 'track' people.  We knew them, or a friend did.  Or they came with documents from a reliable source.  Then we can much more easily identify people who do not belong.  We do all this tracking through indirect means (the gov does), but the man in the street or shop cannot himself check, so the process is selectively enforced by the Feds.

So much for normal systems.  In the US we cannot even require gov't issued photo ID of voters.  We cannot  require valid entry to the US for services.  "But we're an immigrant country!"  Every nation was an immigrant country at some point in the last three hundred years.  Get over it.  We have chaos, and identification is left only for DHS and the FBI, and TSA.  We little people do not get to verify. It is inefficient in the extreme.

McCain is old, he will be dead soon so of course he is going to say and do those things for his family. I imagine at that point in his life his legacy is all he cares about. Saying statist things ensures his legacy is well taken care of by other statists.

And you shouldn't go abroad because the whole thing is falling apart. You should go abroad to enjoy yourself. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.
