Another Day, Another Temper Tantrum From Mayor Bloomberg

It is just incredible how quick NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg is to throw a temper tantrum whenever anyone dares question his crusade to rid the nation of its remaining civil liberties. In this case, his targets are those that criticize his feudalistic and extraordinarily racist “stop and frisk policy,” which I highlighted last October in my post: The Hunted and the Hated: An Inside Look at the NYPD’s Stop-and-Frisk Policy.
So now that the policy is being questioned in court, Bloomberg has once again transitioned into his usual role as a petulant child. Scott Shackford at Reason.com did a great job covering his latest nonsensical outburst. First he quotes the New York Times:
Speaking at Police Headquarters, Mr. Bloomberg took a swipe at those suing the department in Federal District Court in Manhattan over the stop -and-frisk practices, but he saved his strongest words for legislators and mayoral candidates “playing politics with people’s lives.”
“Look at what’s happened in Boston,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “Remember what happened here on 9/11. Remember all of those who’ve been killed by gun violence and the families they left behind.”
Remember Boston! Remember 9/11! This guy has zero shame. All he does is immediately exploit national tragedies to advance his surveillance state agenda.
Scott then goes on to write:
In an amazing, balls-out move prompting comparisons to Kanye West, Bloomberg argued that opponents of the stop-and-frisk policy are the ones who are racist, not the authorities manhandling any minority they stumble across. He accused the New York Times of ignoring the shooting death of a young minority, something it wouldn’t have done were the teen white. Adam Serwer of Mother Jones makes note of the amazing gall of the man:
There are 11 plaintiffs in the stop and frisk case currently on trial in federal district court, none of whom are white. According to Bloomberg, if minorities don’t want to their freedom of movement restricted because of their skin color, it’s just because they’re racist…against themselves. A New York Times spokeswoman told Politico that Bloomberg’s criticism of the paper was “absurd.”

Well, as I mentioned in another post, in 2008 Bloomberg bludgeoned the NYC council into extending the term limits law to three terms instead of two, which allowed him to run again in 2009. In that election, Bloomberg spent approximately $100,000,000 on his campaign, only to barely eke out a victory (50.6% to 46%) over a complete unknown (Comptroller Bill Thompson) who basically didn't campaign. Bottom line: Bloomberg is fucking despised...

Bloomberg has a long track record of fascist policies since becoming mayor. His vindictive campaigns against smokers and those who drink sugary pop are two examples. I'm sure there are plenty of others. The closest we have to him in the UK is the socialist Labour Party, who spent an ionordinate amount of time passing new laws/regulations to manipulate society into something that suited them. If they'd been in office much longer, I'm sure they'd have banned people from eating sausages for breakfast.
I don't know why Bloomberg doesn't simply put on a pair of jackboots and military fatigues and be done with it.

In yesterday's New York Times, there was a long story on the total collapse of the Bronx County court system. A law firm decided to defend some 52 defendants charged with misdemeanor crimes, many from stop and frisk arrests. The attorneys were unable to bring one case to trial, blocked at every turn by crooked judges who accepted without question prosecutor reasons for requesting trial delays. Significantly, when one cop showed up and stared to be questioned by a defense attorney, the prosecutor immediately dismissed the case to avoid the cop from answering the big question: Did the cop see the defendant's pot only only after he asked the perp to empty out his pockets? The police are given instructions from Bloomberg through NYPD commissioner Kelly to claim arrests made for the public use and display of marijuana, a misdemeanor, came before a suspect emptied out his or her pockets. Those pot arrests, hundreds of thousands of them, are mostly based on perjured testimony from police officers making "collars for dollars." The fact that criminal court judges and prosecutors go along with Bloomberg's false arrests means they are all part of a criminal conspiracy to violate minority youths civil rights. The Obummer Justice Department has no problem with this pattern of civil rights violations on a massive scale. No surprise there.
The New York Times was pretty much mute before, even promoting Times reporter Sam Sifton, the son of Federal judge Charles Sifton, the judge who illegally overturned New York City term limits. That decision enabled Bloomberg to run for a third term. That the New York Times is now attacking these stop and frisk arrests means only one thing: the judge now handling the stop and frisk case against the NYPD now in federal court, District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin, has already told associates that she is going to hammer the NYPD for its stop and frisk arrests. When that happens, class action lawyers will pour in to sue New York City for billions of dollars. And Bloomberg will scream and wail but will take off to Bermuda at the end of his term, to avoid process servers trying to serve him as a private citizen.
There is no civil class action liability here against the city. Federal Judges are very competent and actually do try to uphold the constitution - this is why the fascist administration tries to keep everything away from a federal judge whenever possible. Scheindlin will strike down the policy, because it is implemented in a clearly unconstitutional way, as you point out. However, the city will attempt to circumvent the opinion in one form or another, and will still harass minorities, because the policy achieves the results they desire: confiscation of illegal weapons and drugs.
I seriously doubt Judge Scheindlin will do as you say because she surely knows it would either get her suicided or be killed in a plane or car crash.

I had an opportunity to watch a local paramilitary operation near my home which was initiated by the discovery of unknown chemicals in a storage area and home by a phone call from a man cleaning his recently deceased relatives home. The combined response to this call involved hundreds of officers, medics, firepeeps, pressurecookertechs, reporters, spokesofficers, disposal trucks, utility trucks etc... It was quite a show that exceeded my attention span by at least 10 hours but in the end it was found to be essentially nothing but a very small collection of unlabeled flammables saved by an old man over many years.
In retrospect I think I saw America crumbling before my eyes as a million dollars were easily vaporized to clean a shed. Speculation at a midpoint press conference which offered little info other than dangerous chems on scene inspired neighbors to begin pointing out other houses of interest which culminated in immediate raids of unsuspecting homeowners by cops with guns drawn.
You are quite fortunate in corp. Printmerica if all that happens when you are confronted by armed Security Staff of TPTB is a little frisking.
