Where The Jobs Were In April
For those lucky enough to not be male and aged 25-54, and having been able to get a job in April, the following chart is redundant. For everyone else, curious which industries were adding jobs in April, here is the full breakdown. With the bulk of job additions in such "high paying" sectors as leisure and hospitality, temp help and retail, one can see why corporate revenues are going nowhere fast.

I don't see "fed" chairman listed as an opening?
Leisure and Hospitality eh??? I did hear that The Bunny Ranch was on a hiring spree.......
Yeah "20-24 females in the Leisure and Hospitality services or so called professional business services" had the biggest increase???? Its obvious that the high end strip clubs and escort services are booming.....like in desolate times, job prospects are better for women than men...because they own 'physical' assets that most Wall Streeters want.
Jobs that are sei production / productive based are the ones going away.
We have service jobs, but that is no way to grow an economy

I am glad to see gov jobs eliminated.
When the layoffs lower neither government spending nor your taxes but does manage to shrink your customer base, then you may change your tune. Or just curse public sector workers even harder because parroting blame is easier than trying to understand the real reason(s) you're hurting.
It looks like every job created in April is a 29-hour Obamacare special.
Whore's a plenty these days.
EBT/SNAP cards work there.
how about at the CBOE...maybe some new hires can fix the VIX and trading delay problems /s
Timmy's got the nod on that. He will save the entire planet.
This is good news? The jobs like construction that pay well and have many related jobs were down significantly.
Anything STEM related will drop like rocks. I know a lot of folks in this arena but they choose not to work for peanuts, which is all most companies seem to be willing to pay "skilled" labor. Had a "Tech" send me a ticket asking me how to install a fax modem yesterday. Are you serious!? Talk about temp. LOL!
It's ridiculous that technology careers are always feast or famine. If you know how to do the work, they won't pay you anything, if you're clueless as hell, they can't pay you enough.
So...looks like overpriced "health"care sector but mainly Temp. positions.
So will 25% premium increases and 29 hrs./week Temp. positions get us out of this depression?
Hospitality, is that prostitution? I'm thinking yeah.
Yes, and due to global warming.
Plenty of prostitutes in Washington DC.
Yep, in the congress and the senate.
Dirtiest whores money can buy!! They'll fuck 330 million people for a dollar.
Dont forget lap dances.
Not in my house - unfortunately......
Madam or Pimp = Hospitality Executive
I've always fantasized about being one, because I'd treat my people so much better. /s
the financial company I work for ( i wont disclose) has been on a temp hiriing frenzy, pay them sH*t, no benefits, no salary, nada..Bullish!
Looks like everyone is on vacation or something, stopped making things. Glad that's only Temp.
"We never heard of this guy Barack Obama until 2004. Less than three years before taking the presidency, he was in the Illinois state senate, a swamp of scammers, backhanders, and party machine tools - not a stellar launch pad for the White House. And then, one day, state Sen. Barack Obama was visited by his fairy godmother. Her name is Penny Pritzker.
Pritzker's net worth is listed in Forbes as $1.8 billion, which is one hell of a heavy magic wand in the world of politics. Her wand would have been heavier, and her net worth higher, except that in 2001, the federal government fined her and her family $460 million for the predatory, deceitful, racist tactics and practices of Superior, the bank-and-loan-shark operation she ran on the South Side of Chicago.
Superior was the first of the deregulated go-go banks to go bust - at the time, the costliest failure ever. US taxpayers lost nearly half a billion dollars. Superior's depositors lost millions and poor folk in Sen. Obama's South Side district lost their homes."
it gets better as you read on.....

Thanks for the link, I got a chuckle out of it. And thank you ZH for my new morbid sense of humor. It's getting so easy to laugh at all this shit.
And, of course, the old man was a Jewish American businessman, one of America's wealthiest men and founder of the Marmon Group
Yep, another zionist to occupy a cabinet position.
So cabana boys and the Walmart temporary tax rep. are the two largest catagories. That's one hell of a foundation for a sound economy.
The jobs are not in France. We fart in your general direction!
France 'to enter recession' as eurozone growth slows"The eurozone economy will shrink more than expected this year with France sliding into recession, according to a gloomy European Commission report.
The Commission forecast says euro-area growth will shrink by 0.4% this year, down from 0.3% forecast in February.
France will go into recession this year with negative growth of 0.1% and unemployment rising to 10.9% in 2014 from 10.6% this year."

Blow jobs also helped the numbers...
At least they provide real "growth".
Interesting to see EU markets receiving jobs report as positive. I expect the 24 million US unemployed are very happy.
Looks fundamentally sound to me. What's the problem..??
Gov't 11k - always good to see.
So the best four categories are part-time, lower wage employees with no benefits and the four worst categories are full-time positions with benefits. This is good news? Buy Stocks!
I would like to see jobs numbers reported in full-time equivalents (based on obamacare level of 30 hours).
Holly shit I sure am glad this is a massive economic recovery we're having! Otherwise we'd be screwed!
When I get my bartender's certificate in another week I'm going to have to take down one of my diplomas on the wall to make room for it.
I can't decide between my Masters in Engineering and my MBA. If only I had a PhD the decision would be easy.
You serious???
can you take out a student loan for a bartending cert?
Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought (and said) in the other age-based employment report thread. Good jobs vs. shit jobs.
As shitty as this is, it's not the biggest problem- labor force participation still dropping makes this steaming pile look like paradise.
its official, after todays report im looked at as a complete lunatic by everybody who has ever taken ear to my words of "warning"....they are all so grateful they listened to their brokers, cnbc and the msm and not me......................................
......said every single commenter on ZH.
welcome to the club.
So here's my advice to you... I'd stop talking... because when the crisis comes, you want to be under the radar screen and not draw attention to yourself. Be happy that you are one of the "choosen" to belong to the fight club. :)
F**king options are looking better every day. You own the shit if you trade futures.
derp.
You'll have to suck it up and start applying for maid jobs, guys. Maybe you'll move up to head housekeeper within a year. Sardinia has all men working the Teller jobs...that's an idea.
Damn, that means I have to learn how to shave my legs, no way I'm wearing that little outfit without shaving my legs! /s
Cool temps... That's a good sign.
Interesting. The FED reconfirms QE and look at the markets go! I wonder why?
Two things jump out...Given Obamacare next year, expect temp help to go through the roof...not sure if the temp company has to offer health insurance but probably not. Also, as Darden and others try to add workers to cut the average under 30 hours to avoid healthcare, this chart will look the same for the next 3 years. Lastly, April has to be the biggest construction hiring month of the year...really a loss this month?
If Owaawaa wants to hire some mean SEC investigators and put them under Bill Black I'll chip in. Otherwise I'm long crime.
Wait, I thought McJobs weren't real. Did that end in 2009? Are they real now, and cause for a big risk on? I'm confused.
Welcome to Taco Bell. I have an MBA, 5 kids, a mortgage, 3 college tuitions, and $50k in student loans. My government considers me fully employed. The looks on the faces of my children are all that keep me from eating a bullet.
May I take your order?
Only 50k? Lucky...
"Leisure and Hospitality", code for strippers and hookers, no wonder more women were finding work.
