The IRS Explains Its Targeting Of Conservatives

Tyler Durden's picture

Courtesy of WaPo's Zachary Goldfarb, it appears the IRS, just like its former tax-challenged head Tim "TurboTax" Geithner, has some problems with simple math.

I kind of like the "Well, as soon as you provide a valid form as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, I'll get right on it."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paperwork_Reduction_Act

Funny that there is a tax form displayed as an example on this page, even though that number is NOT valid.

"Once obtained, approval must be renewed every three years."

Thing is, they couldn't pass legal muster when they got the first number, let alone having to renew it. So they never have bothered.

Aren't laws fun?

Some of you may not be good at math, others may not be good at boating, but I have memory problems.  I tell you, it's a real Handicap.

Mostly short-term.  Typing dyslexia is getting worse too.  Just ask my family or boss.

Need to have this checked & documented by my MD.  Time for an annual physical that includes these 'aging' effects -- relative to my age-group.  Must remember to get the documented results of my Memory Handicap and make sure my wife stores it so that it does not get lost.

They don't have to be good at math, doing what they do: Legalized Extortion.

p.s. Last January, there were a few really cold days in NY and DC, when lawyers and IRS agents were seen with hands in their own pockets.

Is there even anyone left in the government that isn't involved in individual criminal actions, organized corruption or treason?

If the institution itself is criminal and treasonous like the the US gov, all levels, is then all involved with or employed with said institution are criminals and traitors as well--from the dog catcher to the POTUS.

Any revelations of other surreptitious corruption or criminality is inconsequential beyond being more evidence of their venality.               hujel

Those at the IRS don't need to be good with math because all they need to know is, "it's all ours, we'll have it all, but we'll let you have just enough to produce for us more."       hujel

There have been a lot of faux tea party organizations backed by corporate interests. The IRS had a good chance of uncovering questionable methods which they could then have applied to a broader spectrum of organizations.

A close relative of mine over age 60 had never been audited before despite having numerous small businesses over his lifetimea and a few different careers. However, within a year of becoming the local Replican party county chairman, he was audited. That happened three years in a row. Of course they found nothing but the hassle was time-consuming and stressful. The third time he threatened to file charges and they backed off. That all happened about 10-15 years ago.

Not good at math. Just following orders. Typical Nazi apparatchik, unaware of its harm, and just doesn't give a damn, so long as it gets its money...until it doesn't. Sooner than its tiny bureaucratic mind can comprehend.

'First they came...'.

A quick read for the mentally challenged - and that is your lot, IRS:-

Have the national politicians and main scream media apologised for slandering patriots by suggesting that patriots planted the Boston bombs...and then it turns out that foreigners did, and the FBI 'forgot' to share its intel with local law enforcement?

NO. No apology to patriots wrongly accused. Only excuses made by national government agencies for their failures.

The IRS should focus on its job, without fear or favor, not politics.
