The IRS Explains Its Targeting Of Conservatives
Courtesy of WaPo's Zachary Goldfarb, it appears the IRS, just like its former tax-challenged head Tim "TurboTax" Geithner, has some problems with simple math.
The senior IRS official briefing the press just said: "I'm not good at math."
— Zachary A. Goldfarb (@Goldfarb) May 10, 2013
In her defense, the IRS official, explained: "I'm a lawyer."
— Zachary A. Goldfarb (@Goldfarb) May 10, 2013
The operative question to the IRS official is: What is one-quarter of 300?
— Zachary A. Goldfarb (@Goldfarb) May 10, 2013
Bottom line: 75 groups with "tea party" or patriot" in name were selected for screening by IRS, with 225 other advocacy groups

Is anyone in the legislative/executive branch good at anything, let along, math? Puppets for banks don't need to do math do they?
They're good at being worthless bastids.
Tell the law-yur, it's not about math, it's about law.
Prolly ain't too good on that front either.
Wow.. now those are some delicious utterances.

"your winnings, sir"
I hereby notify the IRS that I consider myself to be conservative, that I willingly attended the two largest Tea Party rallies on the Capitol Mall, and that I consider the President to be a consistently lying cunt, a hopelessly feckless boob, and wholly incompetent in a leadership role...

Hey Tyler, have you seen this gem?
Argentina's Kirchner's got a new line. "Buy our bonds, or go to jail."
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-10/deadbeat-special-unveiled-in-ja...
What happens, when one day somebody decided to call her hand in her game of Bullshit Poker, by doing this VERY publicly -- on Prime Time? Dominoes?
Another argument for the Fair Tax and repeal of the 16th amendment.
IRS: All you patriots are Teabaggers now.
I'm surprised the IRS hasn't tried that approach, but then the US's central bank has more efficient printers.
Nice.
If you ever get audited remember to use the "not good at math defense".
I kind of like the "Well, as soon as you provide a valid form as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, I'll get right on it."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paperwork_Reduction_Act
Funny that there is a tax form displayed as an example on this page, even though that number is NOT valid.
"Once obtained, approval must be renewed every three years."
Thing is, they couldn't pass legal muster when they got the first number, let alone having to renew it. So they never have bothered.
Aren't laws fun?
Some of you may not be good at math, others may not be good at boating, but I have memory problems. I tell you, it's a real Handicap.
Mostly short-term. Typing dyslexia is getting worse too. Just ask my family or boss.
Need to have this checked & documented by my MD. Time for an annual physical that includes these 'aging' effects -- relative to my age-group. Must remember to get the documented results of my Memory Handicap and make sure my wife stores it so that it does not get lost.
no guns for you.
Masonic columns in front of the IRS headquarters are inscribed with the statement "the Bill of Rights is Fragile, very human". This building was erected around 2000, and since then, the Bill of Rights has been shredded.
Long Soap-boxes.
Probably no worse than Holder
Please see whatistaxed.com
It appears only foreign earned income is taxable
They were good at lying, but the quality has been lacking lately.
Careful analysis of the statement reveals the actual words were, "I not too good at maff".
Next tweet will explain the previous tweet - "I don't talk english good neither."
But very good at blobbing up citizenism.
What I want to know - when does the Peter Principle finally cross the critical saturation point and cause governing structures to collapse...
Only math a .gov fucktard is good at is collecting their pension
The math is, that you cover the president's ass, or you're fired.
These highly politicized, risky orders came straight from the top.
Low level bureaucrats don't initiate risky crap like this!
I guess that puts him in the same camp as Tax-Cheat-Timmy
Exactly. The sheeple continue electing officials that couldn't pass a 4th grade math class, let alone understand a budget or even a tiny fraction of Federal Reserve policy. When The Bernanke or Timmay is being questioned by Congress, their demeanor changes when it's Ron Paul's turn. They know they are up against someone who is very knowledgeable, not the typical political dum-dum.
"Ignorant citizens elect ignorant leaders. It is as simple as that."
-George Carlin
Those IRS people are also citizens............
They excelled at cronyism, lobbying, extortion and oppression.
Math is a hinderance on getting one of these high paid cushy jobs. If you can actucally do the math, your not qualified. The key to getting these jobs is to score at the 4th grade level on the math part of their entrance test
fundraising?
Is payment of income tax a felony - i.e. aiding and abeting criminals?
Or treason for aiding terrorists?
Let the Congressional hearings begin! We need some firings and prosecutions.
For "just a Lawyer", didn't he just incriminate himself and his Agency..??
No, it's widely accepted that lawyers don't understand rudimentary math.
Those last two words are superfluous.
addition and subtraction as opposed to quantum physics...
The "Law" only applies to sheeple outside Goverment and Banking..........
and video makers
Nixonian tactics by the very people who decried... Nixonian tactics.
Oh, and I'm absolutely sure this was started by 'low-level officials'. Not ahem, anyone in the Oval Office. Barf.
Obama is considered low level
Obama is a low life. Fixed.
'Obama is considered low level'
... by the Pritzkers, who molded him from clay and baked him in their oven.
Duh tag in da Kamunity is "on the down low," as in three dollar bill.
I'm not laughing. These radicals do whatever the Hell they want, because the media gives them a pass on everything. We'll be lucky to ever get them out of office.
Community Organizers are usually lawyers as well.
Unless they relinquish their law license (which is often in lieu of being disbarred, though the facts often aren't published).
Look up the community organizer in chief's law license history and make your own conclusions.
And his wife
Yeah, but he knows what a "Profits-to-Earnings" ratio is.
Lawyers and bullies. The IRS is the school yard bully of the government. They will also be overseeing who will be audited for not owning healthcare insurance.
Audit the auditors!!
Audit tha FED,too!!
Wonder how much AAPL and ES is *on their books*
Which set of books?
WHAT DIFFERENCE AT THIS POINT DOES IT MAKE??????
Hillary?
Why do you ZH'ers have to talk about this stuff? Can't you watch zombies, sports, and Kardashians like everyone else?
Whe are the Kardashians?
Kind of like zombies
Only the zombies are more lifelike and have a purpose to their existance.
And haven’t devoured as many men.
I'm voting for him for president next time......he'll make us safe for our "way of life"....butchering and slaughtering across the globe
I want you all to know that I've been using that line for years to try to get out of doing, or responding, responsibly. She stole my line without credit!! Maybe I can be a part of a Feral Goobermint Agency, maybe the FGA; an agency tasked with developing a cache of legal syllogisms that other, top-level officials can use to help make deductive reasoning a thing of the past and let the Umercan Idol crowds more easily and quickly dismiss anything officially official that a falsely elected leader might accidentally tweet while having his pants (or skirts) down around his/her cankles?
“All it takes for evil to succeed is for a few good men to do nothing...” - Edmund Burke
Glad to hear that we just hired 17,000 new IRS agents under the new Obamacare regulations.
Which is hilarious considering the tax process is becoming more and more automated...
They are gunslingers.
it wasnt actually 17,000 new irs auditors
but we dont know by how many because we is bad at maths
I guess that's why they've gotten enough hollow-points to kill us all ten times over.
So DON'T file electronically! Print out the paper form, drop it in the US Mail, and make the IRS manually key in the data.
More time doing data entry means less time available to sit around and decide to hassle Tea Party folks, do audits, etc.
Did it on every return I filed this year for myself and others...
And 1200 or so Mossberg shotguns at last count.
The stench of corruption has always been bad, but this administration is a full on putrified carcass...
Politicians are never good at math.....even when they are. Trust me on this one, it's a distinct advantage to be cognitively limited to counting your ten fingers and twelve toes.
They are pretty damned good at counting votes and campaign contributions though.
They don't care who votes, just who counts (or doesn't count) them.
They don't actually count the votes. They just make up a number for their guy that is higher than the number they make up for the other guy. Just have to be sure the number does end up with three zeros. Too obvious.
The BLS is very busy every 2 years in early November. For that matter, they are busy in October too.
Ten fingers?
He's not counting the other ten that are busy pilfering your wallet and groping your teenage daughter at the airport.
Cog - And one long, pointy tail plus two horns - so they can go up to 25 without any cognitive strain.
In her defense, the IRS official, explained: "You m-m-m-mmm-m-make me sad."
heaven forbid they should ever look into the California Healthcare Foundation's activities & spending
Do these dumber than fucks, or are they just compulsive liars, have to take exams to get into a govt position?
Every profession, you need a license to work in that profession..
Except..politicians...and bankster ceos..
That's what fraternity/sorority initiations are for.
Zachary Freaking Golfarb ...this sounds sooooooo **VERY AMERICAN**
Goldfarb, Goldfarb....Hmmm not good at math? I thought all the tribe was good at math, that is until it becomes inconvenient.
Sounds like another dual citizenship holder.
For God's sake...TPTB have a bunch of fucking retards in place to run this shithole.
Someone should unearth a college entrance exam from 1971 and use a 50% score as the bar for continued government employment.
Could President Douch be reached on the golf course for comment?
I think he's currently in the locker room with Reggie Love playing the role of Tiger Woods

God bless, Big Administration.
his control chip in his brain is obvously malfunctioning.
Being "good at math" has cost me a bundle ...so far...!!
Yeah, I feel the same way. At least they can't get to my gold, which was lost in a boating accident the other...um...day or something.
Their playing dumb. "I know nothing"
They get caught so just play stupid.
They knew what they what they were doing was wrong. They did it anyway.
Just like the banks played dumb with MERs and trashing the loan documents. Ya, a simple mistake.
Now fifty state attornies general are waiting for their billion dollar cut of the loot.
Everyone who thinks there is any type of mistake or error involved here, raise your hands now.
No, I didn´t think so either...
Goldfarb?!
What are the odds!?
odds are high
Goldfarb is NOT **Goldman**,evem these darn crooks know it!!
They don't have to be good at math, doing what they do: Legalized Extortion.
p.s. Last January, there were a few really cold days in NY and DC, when lawyers and IRS agents were seen with hands in their own pockets.
All they know is that they need more; more of everything.
They never said anyone was diciplined or fired.
Until they do, NOTHING HAPPENED to the perps.
Math is hard, let's go shopping....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO0cvqT1tAE
not good at math ... just good at ass-fisting people who prefer liberty
Is there even anyone left in the government that isn't involved in individual criminal actions, organized corruption or treason?
If the institution itself is criminal and treasonous like the the US gov, all levels, is then all involved with or employed with said institution are criminals and traitors as well--from the dog catcher to the POTUS.
Any revelations of other surreptitious corruption or criminality is inconsequential beyond being more evidence of their venality. hujel
Is this post contending that conservatives are less than 25% of the electorate, or of taxpayers, or something? I thought conservatives thought their movement was much more popular than that.
Those at the IRS don't need to be good with math because all they need to know is, "it's all ours, we'll have it all, but we'll let you have just enough to produce for us more." hujel
I ain't no prophet but I don't see this mess lasting a whole lot longer. If I was them I would hire more body guards and pay 'em well.
I got my alibis now if ever i need them..
The Geithner Premise...I didnt know i had to claim that...
The Goldfarb( should be goldFART, since this whole thing stinks) Excuse
...Im not good in math..
Seriously...Tyler?
One day after the crap is scraped off the fan, walls, etc..please compile a book of the excuses, quotes, and BS lines used over the past 20 years..
Definitely a trilogy in the works..bestseller too!
hahaha...like YOUR alibis would have meaning.
To Gitmo with you and your alibis, unless yer a bankstah or politician.
So what is being good at math got to do with targeting your opposition with the IRS audits? Hey, come to think of it didn't Obama say the same thing as his reason for running budget deficits.
Just try being not good at math on your tax return ....
dis country done gone full suck.
Cut the statists paycheck in half, see if it notices...then again cut the statist in half, see if anybody cares!
.25 x 300 = 75

Why does this not surprise me? This is our government in action. This is why we need less of it.
Might be yours, but it sure the fuck ain't mine!
My government is that little voice inside my head (as is the only one you truly own).
This response is a fucking disgrace!
Here is how the IRS learns math...Abbott and Costello.

> The senior IRS official briefing the press just said: "I'm not good at math."
To be fair, this could have been said by any Federal Reserve official too.
Barry using the .gov machinery to screw his enemies.
barrick nixon is our god so ... blame bush
Rothschild Zionism using O'bomba to impose its new world order ... the old world order, redux.
There have been a lot of faux tea party organizations backed by corporate interests. The IRS had a good chance of uncovering questionable methods which they could then have applied to a broader spectrum of organizations.
A close relative of mine over age 60 had never been audited before despite having numerous small businesses over his lifetimea and a few different careers. However, within a year of becoming the local Replican party county chairman, he was audited. That happened three years in a row. Of course they found nothing but the hassle was time-consuming and stressful. The third time he threatened to file charges and they backed off. That all happened about 10-15 years ago.
Not good at math. Just following orders. Typical Nazi apparatchik, unaware of its harm, and just doesn't give a damn, so long as it gets its money...until it doesn't. Sooner than its tiny bureaucratic mind can comprehend.
'First they came...'.
A quick read for the mentally challenged - and that is your lot, IRS:-

Have the national politicians and main scream media apologised for slandering patriots by suggesting that patriots planted the Boston bombs...and then it turns out that foreigners did, and the FBI 'forgot' to share its intel with local law enforcement?
NO. No apology to patriots wrongly accused. Only excuses made by national government agencies for their failures.
The IRS should focus on its job, without fear or favor, not politics.
