IRS Official In Charge During Tea Party Targeting Now Runs Health Care Office

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

I’d like to say that the following is unbelievable, but it’s not.  Unfortunately, it is all too believable.

From ABC:

The Internal Revenue Service official in charge of the tax-exempt organizations at the time when the unit targeted tea party groups now runs the IRS office responsible for the health care legislation.

USA! USA!

Sarah Hall Ingram served as commissioner of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012. But Ingram has since left that part of the IRS and is now the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act office, the IRS confirmed to ABC News today.

Her successor, Joseph Grant, is taking the fall for misdeeds at the scandal-plagued unit between 2010 and 2012. During at least part of that time, Grant served as deputy commissioner of the tax-exempt unit.

Grant announced today that he would retire June 3, despite being appointed as commissioner of the tax-exempt office May 8, a week ago.

“Obamacare empowers the agency that just violated the public’s trust by secretly targeting conservative groups,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., added. “Even by Washington’s standards, that’s unacceptable.”

Sen. John Cornyn even introduced a bill, the “Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013,” which would prohibit the Secretary of the Treasury, or any delegate, including the IRS, from enforcing the Affordable Care Act.

“Now more than ever, we need to prevent the IRS from having any role in Americans’ health care,” Cornyn, R-Texas, stated. “I do not support Obamacare, and after the events of last week, I cannot support giving the IRS any more responsibility or taxpayer dollars to implement a broken law.”

Pure 100% unadulterated Banana Republic.

In the old days, before lies were called spin, there was a term for all this. It was a single word that summed it all up and got right to the heart of the matter. In fact, in some jurisdictions it's actually used as a legal basis for a crime.

>>> Corruption

Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both.   John F. Kennedy

I weep for the liberty of my country when I see at this early day of its successful experiment that corruption has been imputed to many members of the House of Representatives, and the rights of the people have been bartered for promises of office. Andrew Jackson

The two greatest priorities for my government are tackling tax evasion and corruption.

The man doesn't have two brain cells to rub together and should be treated as the quack/hack that he is.

All he has ever had to do is look around him, from Holders vague answers about whether a citizen would ever be droned to bio-ID in the immigration bill to citizens being forced to buy a product/service whether they want to or not.

He's the current walking-talking example of what a "useful idiot" looks like.

Ecuador is worth checking out.  Great climate in Quito and Cuenca, low cost of living, gas is $1.50 a gallon and diesel is $1 a gallon.  Export oil, coffee, chocolate, bananas, and seafood.  Very good health care with US trained doctors at 10% of US cost, pay cash, and nothing ends up in a US medical database.  US$ is the currency, so no currency conversion hassles.  President Correa is no USA lackey, so cold shoulder to US intrusions, yet competent with a PhD from University of Illinois.  Investing in infrastructure rather than siphoning off millions to personal Swiss bank accounts like all the prior kleptocrats. Well documented property titles.  My plan B with a condo in Quito and a 70 acre farm in the Amazon highlands.

Can you own a firearm such as an AR-15, AK-47,  or M1A there? How about a handgun? Didn't think so. Why go someplace where you're considered an outsider with means, and where you have absolutely no way to defend yourself, your family, or your property. Stand and fight, with ballots and letters first, with bullets and arms if necessary.

Don't waste your time.

Spent several months in each of the republics south of Mexico several years back. On the same mission. Had a great time... but...

the idea of taking refuge in any them(if you're of the 'melatoninally-challenged' persuasion)... is foolish. You'll be watched every step of the way... in setting up your 'secure' retreat. And when the time comes... will be considered a mobile ATM>... no log in required. Costa Rica... in particular! While crossing the border from Nica, you can actually feel the tension decrease in the air... that just sets you up to relax your guard a bit. There's never a moment you are not watched n tracked.... if you look like you are anything. I remember when the US Ambassador hisself in SJ was 'home-invaded' ... they caught the suspects...who were then let out...and proceeded to calmly go back to the scene of the crime and shoot all the witnesses.  Rough side of paradise.

Northern Panama was tempting. Lot's of expat ex-milli types who could see that Rica was over and moved at the right time. Good climate in the highlands. But already way overpriced. Honduras and Guat over-run with banditos. No road is safe anymore. Belize is a freak show.  Nica way too full of ghosts.

If I had no other choice but Central America... I'd outfit a catamaran and take it over from the Keys to the coast and head up Rio Dulce. You can nestle real good up in there. But then again... if you had to pull out quickly... the river back would be a shooting gallery.

Unless your projected lifestyle post-SHTF is living life under siege... don't go there dude. Learn some Spanish and wait for the last of the Castro Bros to finally drop dead. Cubans are truly a joy. Too bad what "State" did to their country.

All of that was on the south side.  Miracle mile has become a dangerous place of course.  Gangs of kids openly and brazenly stalk and rob people there right on Michigan now.  But mostly the north or "Cubs" side is saFE.  well there was that 65 year old woman who was robbed and beaten to a pulp 8 blocks from my house in Old Irving last week.  One of our aquaintances from our daughter's Lacrosse team visited her in the hospital.  She was a friend of his mother.  We just bought a house in Minnesota.  Taxes are too high (not least because a person who USED to be a friend of my parents contested the governors race and split the conservative vote allowing Mark Dayton with his whopping 75 IQ to gain the mansion).  But you can carry a gun there at least.  And anyway the criminals are not as brazen or as numerous.  Glad to be getting out of this hellhole.

Oh and with regard to the actual story here.  What did oyu expect?  The government has lost any veneer of credibility.  But that is what happens when you elect third world thinking presidents.  You get a third world republic.  Pitchforks, tar and feathers are the anitdote.

Wise move leaving the city.  I used to live there, then went to the burbs, and now have moved to a neighboring state but still frequent the city for work.

There is a noticable increase in the police presence on the Mag Mile.  Unfortunately, it sacrifices security elsewhere.  I take public tansit and walk around there often so I see the crap...and thats in the "good" areas!  Walk down State Street, or take the pedway and you'll see a step up in the crap of the Mag Mile.  That's a lot to put up with to pay 11% sales tax on your shopping!

no doubt the warriors' blood runs deep thru the karma of many of us, if not all.  it's simply a question of tactics methinks, most especially when you are playing the enemy's Game where they make up the Rules as they see fit (for them).   many a warrior have given multiple lifetimes not to consider that unfortunate circumstance.

However, Northern Panama highlands are still attractive (more so for non US subjects) despite somewhat higher prices: Good climate, beautiful nature, no Obamacare but quality low priced healthcare, no tax on income generated outside of Panama, quite safe, friendly locals and many interesting and smart Expats. However, as always, don't put all eggs in one basket.

Thailand is worth a look. Nice, passive (Buddhist) culture and people. Modern medical facilities and infrastructure. Low cost of living. Good climate (if you like warm and tropical). And the best part >> the government does not tax the crap out of the people to give to their cronies. My understanding is that they get most of their tax "revenues" from the large corporations and luxury imports. Some corruption, certainly... but if you lay low and keep out of trouble you don't have any problems.

not to overlook Burkina Faso which, by definition, is the "Land of honest people".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burkina

among the landlocked african states, it is the one with various police forces operating under the commands of the ministers of defense, administration, and security.

plus there are identity spot-checks to ensure your safety.

its chief export is gold, which you can sell to acquire CFA francs printed by the central bank of west african states http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Bank_of_the_West_African_States

you think the dollar is strong? wait til you meet the cfa franc. it's overdue for devaluation (but what currency isn't) http://www.exchange-rates.org/history/USD/XAF/G/30

The common ammo philosophy has everything to do with what will be in the field after the SHTF, and nothing to do with what's currently on the shelf at Walmart.  The fact that Walmart, BassPro, Gander Mtn, etc. are constantly out of these ammo types should reinforce this for you.  Also, there is plenty of .223, 9mm, etc. available online, it just costs a good bit more than it used to...but ask yourself this, if you really think SHTF is a possibility, do you want to run short on ammo just because you weren't willing to spend a little extra money?  $0.60/round will seem very cheap in retrospect when 10 guys are coming your way and you're down to your last nine rounds.

Just a word to the wise---the car rental places in Costa Rica quote you one price when you reserve in advance and then jack the price up when you arrive in person, and by that point there is not much you can do about it. I'm ready to leave the US as well, but then I remember that a lot of the countries I would like to go to don't exactly operate based on "the rule of law" either. It's a dilemma for certain.

You know for a fact these parasites don't get bonuses for saving taxpayer money so that leaves going 'above and beyond' in achieving some twisted bureaucratic mumbo jumbo that invariably translates to serving government objectives ie..screwing taxpayers.

Time to give our friend RICO a call yet?

Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly referred to as the RICO Act or simply RICO, is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. The RICO Act focuses specifically on racketeering, and it allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for the crimes which they ordered others to do or assisted them, closing a perceived loophole that allowed someone who told a man to, for example, murder, to be exempt from the trial because he did not actually do it.

I think mostly Obamacare will be a denial of service for many, based on Ezekial Emanual's Complete Lives.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ezekiel_J._Emanuel

Betsy McCaughy wrote about it in the WSJ:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405297020370660457437446328009867...

My problem with Emanuel's thesis is that there are high-functioning people at age 60 and low-functioning people at 40.  More ought to be considered than just the age of the person when resources are considered. Dialysis?  Definitely!  CABG?  Perhaps, if all other options have been exhausted.  Organ transplant?  Eh, perhaps, depending on which one.

Certainly the most healthcare dollars are spent in the last years of life.  The problem is that you don't know when the last years of life are going to be.  Instead, how about considering what medical care is delivered?  How about more effort to get people to understand what a living will and medical power of attorney are and why they need them?  Get families to understand that their loved ones wishes are iron-clad and it doesn't matter if they have unfinished business with Mom and Dad -- the ventilator is going to be turned off because that's not how they wanted to spend their remaining time.

Without legal documentation spelling out what your exact wishes are, you must understand that paramedics will do everything to save you, which is good in an most situations.  It's not so great if you've been without a pulse or breath for over say, five to seven minutes but they'll do it all anyhow.  The chance of you walking out of the hospital is slim to none in that situation but they'll do it all anyhow.  Heroic measures will continue in the ER and if you're basically healthy now, you may well make it to the ICU where you'll linger -- perhaps for months.  Multiple procedures will take place before you eventually die, all without leaving that ICU.  Perhaps multiple surgeries as well.

And that is how the greatest amount of healthcare dollars get spent in the last months of life.

People must understand that when there is no hope of any recovery, it's better to pull the plug sooner rather than later because just because you can doesn't mean you should.  (That doesn't mean that I don't cherish life because I do.  But quality is vastly under-rated and if the public only knew what happens behind those doors of the ICU they'd be far more ready to let their loved ones go.)

What's coming next is mandatory vaccinations Nmewn. I can feel it in my bones. We're in the fight for our lives. Remember the "accidental" contamination of simian virus ( SV40) in polio vaccine and how it was considered not significant. SV 40 has been found in human cancers but they claim they can't PROVE it caused those cancers. With mandatory vaccination we are all human guinea pigs at the whim of a fascistic state with no recourse.

It occurs to me that maybe one could take advantage of the massive paperwork in healthcare while it still exists when it comes to the issue of vaccines:

My doc asks me if I've gotten a particular vaccine when I see him.  (For some, this is an annual visit.)  The last time I got a flu vaccine (years ago) I did it at a drugstore.  So he checks off the box in my chart.  I gave the drugstore my insurance card when I got the vaccine but it didn't cover much of the cost -- it was more or less tracking information it seems.

Instead, how about I tell the doc that yes, I got the vaccine but in reality I didn't.  If at some point I'm asked about the no insurance record, I say I paid in cash since the insurance company didn't save me any money anyhow.

For the record, I did what they wanted and got vaccinated.  My doctor is covered because his records show I am compliant and so is he.  But I got my way and am less contaminated as a result.

Understood. I doubted either of you we're taking that position...at least I hoped not, since both of your opinions on most things are ones I share.

There are two distinct issues tied up in ball over this story:

The preventive procedure, which I've seen really good first hand data for

The expensive and, in what I consider unlawful screening procedure for the presence of this gene or genes in question. These genes are patented. The procedure costs in the neighborhood of 2-3K precisely because of that claimed patent. Your genes owned by a company. I have a serious issue with this part of the story. It's a question that will soon be settled by the Supreme Court. I hope it's shot down, it's a racket. its like claiming ownership over individual elements in the periodic table when they were being discovered and named. That would be ridiculous, but if the table were being developed and researched in today's legal landscape, you bet each one would be. You'd pay Dow a royalty for the Al in you soda can.
