While unlikley to have the kind of fireworks of Holder and Issa, we suspect President Obama will be biting his nails a little at the inability to control the questions asked here as IRS ex-top-man Steve Miller faces an entirely "bipartisan" questioning into the IRS witchhunts of select political groups.

This hearing provides an opportunity to hear from the private sector about the potential benefits and challenges of these negotiations. In particular, I hope that we will learn more from our witnesses about the following issues:
1. Addressing traditional barriers to trade, including eliminating tariffs and liberalizing tariff rate quotas.
2. Resolving services and investment barriers and establishing strong rules in these areas that can be jointly promoted in our engagement with other countries.
3. Creating specific commitments and an ongoing agenda to identify and eliminate unnecessary regulatory barriers, including sanitary and phytosanitary barriers to U.S. agriculture exports. The EU regulatory process is often non-transparent, prevents U.S. stakeholders from participating, and is unpredictable. An agreement should address the EU’s practices on a comprehensive, horizontal basis.
4. Exploring opportunities for regulatory cooperation and coherence by eliminating redundancy and inefficiency without weakening our respective high standards.
5. Developing and strengthening cooperation regarding our shared concerns with trade and investment policies in third countries, such as anticompetitive behavior from subsidized state-owned enterprises and policies that undermine intellectual property rights.

Our tax system definitely needs a serious review by a professional tax committee. I do not claim to be a tax expert, but I agree with the need to close loopholes and make our tax system more transparent. On the other hand I recognize that there are grey areas and that some areas need to be dealt with on a case by case basis. I think this hearing is a good start though. I particularly agree with the need to reach an agreement on a horizontal basis, and the need to maintain high standards.

Funny that "I don't know" or "I don't recall" is a perfectly acceptable answer when testifying to Congress, but if you responded in that manner to the IRS when they audit you they'll throw you in jail. Pricks. One more reason we should repeal the 16th amendment, and replace all taxes with a single consumption tax on new retail goods and services. Then we can shut this festering shithole of corruption they call the IRS down for good.

The previous head of the IRS was replaced a short time ago by Miller, who was scheduled to retire in June. He's great at keeping his mouth shut and blubbering and deflecting, yet he put the very gal in charge of the group embroilrd in the scandal now in charge of IRS implementation of Obamacare. My gut tells me this is all choreographed...the high level pukes knew what was going on and positioned a great bullshitter (Miller) with his aquiesence to do the dirty work and be the fall guy. Let's see what kind of job he ends up with ad who hires him when this is all done. I'm guessing a very high paying gig at a very Progressive company or organzitaion...it was a pure political horse trade.

The National Treasury Employees Union represents IRS employees. They pay union dues which are transferred to the Democrat party. They also man phones and conduct "non-partisan" voter registration drives etc.

The story I heard on the AP story was that AP had agreed to hold the story on the potential terror attack for five days. The CIA asked for a sixth, not for any security concerns but because Obama wanted to break the story himself. AP was offered a 5 minute lead and they decided to tell Obama to get stuffed. So the statement that the Democrats said Saddam has WMD's does have merit. A lot of the quotes were to cover up the fact that Clinton bombed Iraq to distract the country from the fact that he was getting BJ's in the oval office from one of the most unattractive women I have ever seen.
