Jack Lew's Triple Whammy - IRS Ignorance, Corzine Corruption, And The 'War On The Poor'
While some, we are sure, will view this brief clip as partisan showmanship by Representative Steve Pearce, the questions he asks Treasury Secretary should surely be responded to in some manner that is anything but the typical perfunctory shrug these matters normally garner. From Lew's apparent disbelief that the IRS Audits debacle was in any way 'political' to Lew's "waiting for the investigation' on Jon Corzine's misappropriation of funds, and finally to the "War on the Poor" that Pearce describes the current administration's policies (for the benefit of Wall Street); these few minutes are well worth some time as we 'remember' this weekend.

Most of the static is at the Federal level.
75% of the states balance their budgets. So it CAN be done.
But when you can print money, who needs the votes of "representitives"?
Woof woof. I rarely comment on these bait threads, as it's all "My team, rah rah rah" without much insight, but your comment was so patently false I almost snorted coffee everywhere.
JP Morg would like to sell you a bridge, because they're sure making a killing on advisory fees & loans. Feel free to look over the "Net contribution per capita" and torture the data to make it add up to 75% balanced, please do. That's not even counting all the pork in the barrels, reported or unreported. DC cracks me up at $-39,234, just unreal.
If you want to learn something, and not just regurgitate your talking points (and I do hope you're being paid per talking point, otherwise that's a sad reflection on your comprehension), try this Brookings Institute over-look of the issue. Plenty of graphs, data and so on: the short version is "fucking broke".
The federal government transferred unprecedented fiscal relief to states and localities during the Great Recession and its aftermath. In particular, the 2009 stimulus package appropriated $145 billion to help states fill their budget gaps. The stimulus also provided additional payments for highways and other infrastructure as well as education and programs 3 State and Local Budgets and the Great Recession oriented toward individuals affected by the recession. Still, federal funds did not offset state and local revenue losses (figure 4), and the stimulus programs have now expired...
As a result of these pressures and revenue declines, large budget gaps opened in nearly every state, including a record number of states (43) that confronted shortfalls in the middle of a budget cycle, necessitating further actions beyond those already taken (see figure 6). Overall, states faced more than $500 billion in cumulative shortfalls from 2009 to 2012...
Between fiscal years 2008-09 and 2010-11, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities reports that 34 states reduced expenditures on K-12 education, 43 cut college and university expenditures, 31 lowered health care expenditures, 29 cut services to the elderly and disabled, and 44 reduced employee compensation.
43 States, at middle of budget cycle. Not quite 75%, unless my math is very off. You can argue that they've been "balancing" their budgets, but mostly due to cut-backs and getting involved in bonds and other financial wizardry (not that they weren't before, but it's escalated), and that suits Wall St. just fine. JP Morg fined $228 million: "The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged J.P. Morgan Securities LLC (JPMS) with fraudulently rigging at least 93 municipal bond reinvestment transactions in 31 states" [SEC July 7th 2011] that's not even touching their legally acquired fees (I remember Detroit's being up around ~$400 mil although that's just from memory. Aha, found it - $474 million Bloomberg March 14th 2013. That's $474 million off a single broke-ass crappy city with a population under 5 million if we take the larger region being generous), the processing profits off running SNAP and so on and so forth. And that's only JPM, it's a tiny slice of the vast pudding being gobbled down. NomNomNom.
If you also missed this being a Koch-Tea Party attack vector then you're wildly out of the loop. Listen to Wisconsin toadying. If you think that ALEC, JPM & Koch Industries don't talk to each other, you're living in a fantasy world. I do hope you've some idea of how power works in America.
Tl;dr
If you don't even know how Wall St. is making off like a honey badger with regards to State funding (hint: interest rates on municiple bonds) then you need to wise up a little. Also, the slashing of local government isn't being pushed by friendlies to the little man, it's really not. Sharp. Pointy. Teeth.
The funniest thing about all of this is that the data is freely available, and you still think you're not being fucked in the ass or that the Tea Party is grass roots or that Capitalism works the way you read in a book. That's quite a punch line. (Feel free to ignore if you're one of the "fuckers", not "fuckees" & are just trolling).
/back to coffee, but you go ahead in your fantasy land, I'm sure it's fun riding your purple unicorn to work everyday. How I wish my inner world was as simple.

OT - After achieving new highs for three weeks, choice-grade beef, the most common variety in the U.S., jumped to $2.1137 a pound Thursday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture... [wsj]
That's right, according to the ag dept. beef costs just $2.11/lb. That is all.
Tell me where that store is, I need to stock up.
That's because it still has hooves, hide and a mouthful of hay.
Lumber is pretty cheap too, when it still has leaves on it.
yep, that way they don't have to double and triple count fuel prices in the cpi (the way it works in the real world).
Here are some prices from non-subsidized, grass fed beef .... real food in bulk quantity and CDN: Add 75 cents /lb to cut and wrap.
http://www.trailsendbeef.com/howtoorder.html
One of the ways real food price inflation is masked is by ignoring all the tax breaks and outright subsidies baked into retail price of commercial (feed lot, GMO corn fed beef) beef. Not to mention the future health care costs if you insist on making that sh*t a large part of your diet.
Paid $2.89/lb for half a side from the Amish two weeks ago packaged and flash frozen.

Disagree, It would be pointless, this administration is full of corrupt liars!
He would have never gotten an answer anyway. No point in asking any questions.

While clerical errors are common, $80 million seems like a big chunk to overlook when preparing a financial statement. But apparently that’s what happened to President Obama’s nominee for Secretary of Commerce in preparation for her Senate Confirmation Hearing last Thursday.
In a generally friendly exchange the Senate Commerce Committee asked billionaire Penny Pritzker, Obama’s close friend and major fund raiser from Chicago, numerous questions about her fortune and her business dealings.
Pritzker, one of the richest women in America answered questions about offshore trust accounts managed by a Canadian bank that are a large part of her fortune, which is estimated at $1.85 billion.
“I didn’t create them, I don’t direct them, I don’t control them, but I have complied with all of the disclosure obligations, etc., that have been required of me in this process,” Pritzker said.
Pritzker was also quizzed on how her family’s Hyatt hotel chain deals with organized labor. Members of the Unite Here hotel workers’ union were there to criticize the nomination, calling the Hyatt “the worst hotel employer in America” due to its treatment of workers and failure to reach a new labor contract.
Sen. John Thune, R-SD, asked Pritzker about Superior Bank, a Hinsdale savings and loan where she served as chair, that went bankrupt in 2001.
In response to the missing income, Pritzker’s lawyer, Robert Rizzi, said in a letter to a Commerce Department attorney that the income was not in original filings “because of a clerical error and through no fault of Ms. Pritzker.”
Despite the controversy, Thune reportedly commented informally to reporters that he did not see too many roadblocks to her nomination, and that he was satisfied with her answers about her role in the bank’s collapse and income from offshore trust investments.

Clerical error my ass and the typical throw the money manager under the bus routine when caught red handed. I'm sure we won't prosecute her for tax fraud or at least force her to pay a fine over it since these days fines are interchangable with jail time when you are in the TBTJ crony club. Either that or they will prosecute her money manager and not go after taxes owed on that 80 million and the sheep in the matrix won't care or even be able to appreciate the subtle distinction in how the law is perverted for a select few.
A questionable intersection of money and power high up in America's political system?
You don't say.
Yeah who woulda thunk it? I'm totally shocked. Let me show you my shocked face (notice how my facial expression didn't change).
This is partisan showmanship!!! By Representative Steve Pearce!
WTF? This should nog be allowed!
What the hell is this, anyway?!
Jeez, start your own IRS-business, Media Company,or soupkitchen + SNAPs, ok?
You didn't build that, yourself, now did you? Or any other Republican.

The biggest scam in the financial industry has been to get everyone accepting savings accounts and the government T-Bill as reasonable foundation investments. Never mind the increased risk of owning these assets in the last few years. Simply recognize that both now have negative real rates of return. This forces every investor into even riskier ventures to try and get back the portion of their savings constantly being stolen from them by the government and Wall Street controlled Central Banking System before they have any chance of earning a true income on their money. Every investment option now implicitly has this feature imbedded in it.
If there were one investment among the tens of thousands of so-called great opportunities pitched by every sell-side analyst and financial advisor from San Diego to Portland Maine which simply guaranteed the purchasing power of my money, I would put every nickel of my retirement savings into that investment tomorrow. That’s right, I would opt for a guaranteed zero real yield after inflation and taxes over anything else out there. I suspect many others would too which, of course, is precisely the reason that particular investment option doesn’t exist.
And for those who still don't think Obamacare is more about population reduction than health care check this out. Sterilization was promoted under other certain Marxist regimes think China and the Nazis. Someone please fucking explain to me and the rest of ushow preventative care in a nontwisted nonsociopathic way includes sterilization and sterilzation of girls as young as 12. Please rationalize this for the rest of us.
http://cnsnews.com/news/article/rep-schakowsky-unaware-obamacare-reg-req...
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D.-Ill.) said she was “unaware” that the preventive services regulation that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has issued under the Obamacare law requires health care plans to offer free sterilizations to girls as young as their teens.
However, back in March, Schakowsky did acknowledge that the mandate offers sterilizations free of charge to college-age women, stressing at that time that the HHS rules were designed to “protect the health of women, women of all ages.”
The HHS regulation, which takes effect on Aug. 1, requires nearly all health care plans in the United States to provide, without cost sharing, “all Food and Drug Administration approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and patient education and counseling for all women with reproductive capacity,” which means all women who have begun ovulating, including teenagers.
At the Capitol on Wednesday, CNSNews.com asked Rep. Schakowsky, “The HHS preventive services mandate requires all health plans to offer free sterilizations, including to girls in their teens. Do you support the mandate as it applies to teens?”
At that point, Rep. Schakowsky started to walk away without answering but, while walking, she said, “I don’t--I’m unaware that it says that sterilization including teens is in that. I’ll check that out.”
“I will check that out,” she said.
CNSNews.com then followed up, “It says all women of ‘reproductive capacity,’ and it defines it as from menarche to menopause.”
“I’ll check that out,” she said.
HHS Secretary Sebelius proposed the regulation last August as part of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare. It was finalized in February 2012.
The regulation was recommended by a federally funded committee at the Institute of Medicine (a part of the National Academy of Sciences), which explained in making its recommendation that “women with reproductive capacity” meant women “from the time of menarche to menopause.” Menarche is a young woman’s first menstrual cycle.
It stated: “Unintended pregnancy is defined as a pregnancy that is either unwanted or mistimed at the time of conception … and affects women with reproductive capacity, that is, from the time of menarche to menopause.”
The National Institutes of Health says that young women usually start to menstruate “around age 12.” Thus the HHS-mandated insurance coverage providing sterilizations without cost-sharing would apply to girls as young as 12.
The IOM report’s recommendation for the HHS mandate comes from an 8-page section entitled, “Preventing Unintended Pregnancy and Promoting Healthy Birth Spacing,” where it states, “Unintended pregnancy is highly prevalent in the United States.”
“Although 1 in 20 American women has an unintended pregnancy each year, unintended pregnancy is more likely among women who are aged 18 to 24 years and unmarried, who have a low income, who are not high school graduates, and who are members of a racial or ethnic minority group,” the report reads.
The section concludes: “The committee recommends for consideration as a preventive service for women: the full range of Food and Drug Administration-approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and patient education and counseling for women with reproductive capacity.”
Schakowsky, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has oversight over the Affordable Care Act, had said the HHS mandate was designed to “protect the health of women, women of all ages.”
The Obama Administration announced in March that the preventive services mandate would also apply to college and university health plans, “to ensure students enrolled in these plans benefit from important consumer protections in the Affordable Care Act,” an HHS Fact Sheet stated.
CNSNews.com previously asked Schakowsky if she supported the regulation that requires health insurance companies to provide free sterilizations to college-age women who want them, during a conference call on March 19.
“This isn’t about promoting sterilization,” she said. “No one--there aren’t college girls lining up to become sterilized because they feel like it. And we’re talking about medical procedures.”
Schakowsky added that “there may be situations where for medical reasons and in consultation with the doctor that sterilization procedures are warranted for the health of a young woman.”
“Contraception and related procedures, contraception was declared one of the top 10 preventive health services of the 20th century by the Centers for Disease Control," she said.
“And the reason for these regulations is to protect the health of women, women of all ages, so that they can afford to get the preventive care that they need.”
And of you don't think the left leaning Marxists aka these Fabian Socialists aren't indoctrinating children also while we are at it watch this video. This is an actual Common Core ELA approved learning primary program materials for 1st graders advocating social advocacy and using emotional words to foward the cause. This is actually reviewed and approved by adult educators for 1st graders in Utah. This shit is straight out of Sal Alinsky and they teach kids to use the words we and us to push change and every grades lessons build on the previous to totally indoctrinate children into the marxist mindset by the time they are young adults. If you think this tinfoil hat chicken little melodramatic paranoia conspiracy theory stuff watch the fucking video first.

Reps talking to empty rooms and cameras... waste of time, though he may be sincere. Talk fixes nothing.
All tax money collected is wasted. If either party (or individuals) wanted to solve problems from their high perches in D.C., all problems would have been haging around for 7 decades would be solved by now.
"The regulation was recommended by a federally funded committee at the Institute of Medicine (a part of the National Academy of Sciences), which explained in making its recommendation that “women with reproductive capacity” meant women “from the time of menarche to menopause.” Menarche is a young woman’s first menstrual cycle."
The effect of this will be that many, if not most, of the generation that will be paying the bills for Obamacare will be taking advantage of the sterilization option because all their money will be going into Obamacare... which means no more little taxpayers coming after them...
Another example of "lawmakers" shooting themselves and their slaves (us) in the feet. But I suppose that's one way to solve the "government wastes all taxes" problem. No kids, no future taxpayers.
our "leadership" and culture in the west and across the globe are INSANE. step back and look around, open your eyes wide shut, and discover if you are human, or a projection of humanness on an programmed self distructive robot prey. we do not lack oil or energy so much as we lack being human..humans do not waste life on obtaining paper symbols - be more than just a consuming tax unit. (to those in IRS HLS CIA and all of .gov & big banks and international business are sociopaths and truly the most insane of all)..corruption has become our art..

This is a great distraction for the FBI-CIA debacle in Boston. The IRS scandal, as bad as it is, is not even the worse of what is coming out of this administration. I would hold Boston and Benghazi as much worse.
Something that the Media has kept quiet about, but you can read it on the FBI gov site AND on the site PilotOnline.com (excerpt below) is TWO FBI AGENTS that were involved in the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev arrest, "fell out of a helicopter" and died during "training"!!
An excerpt:
The Virginian-Pilot
© May 20, 2013?
Two members of the FBI’s elite counterterrorism unit died Friday while practicing how to quickly drop from a helicopter to a ship using a rope, the FBI announced Monday in a statement.
The statement gave few details regarding the deaths of Special Agents Christopher Lorek and Stephen Shaw, other than to say the helicopter encountered unspecified difficulties and the agents fell a “significant distance.”
A law enforcement source told The Pilot the incident happened about 12 nautical miles off the coast of Virginia Beach. The official blamed bad weather for the incident and said the agents – members of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team, based in Quantico – fell into the water. The official said he believed the agents died as a result of the impact rather than drowning.
....
In all, the team has responded to more than 850 incidents involving terrorism, violent crimes and foreign counterintelligence, according to the FBI’s website.
Last month, the team was involved in the arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. And in February, it rescued a 5-year-old boy held hostage for six days in an underground bunker in Alabama.

Here is another mind boggling revelation or stupidity error on behalf of DOJ concerning the IRS. If I am or the person who posted this is reading it wrong someone please clarify. These are actual court documents filed stating the IRS is not an agency of the United States Government. I shit you not read the actual NARA certified court document contained in the webpage.
http://nontaxpayer.net/irsnara0.html
The following images are scanned copies of pleadings (certified by NARA) wherein a United States Attorney and a United States Department of Justice Trial Attorney, Tax Division, deny that Internal Revenue Service is an agency of the United States Government.
See specifically page 2 of pleadings, item no. 4.
The allegation by Diversified Metal Products, Inc., Plaintiff, for item number 4 reads, "Defendant Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is an agency of the United States government which has presented to Plaintiff a lien against monies to which Defendant Steve Morgan, or persumably[sic] Defendant T-Bow Company Trust for him, may be entitled."
Did some digging on this case for clarification and here it is for anyone that cares.
http://freedom-school.com/tax-matters/diversified-metal-products-v-t-bow...
n3 The Internal Revenue Service, and not the United States, was originally named as defendant in this action. However, the United States is correct that the Internal Revenue Service has no capacity to sue or be sued. Blackmar v. Guerre, 342 U.S. 512, 514, 96 L. Ed. 534, 72 S. Ct. 410 (1952). Therefore, the United States is properly substituted for the Internal Revenue Service in this action.
Bottom line though the DOJ still denies the IRS is an agency of the United States Government. Someone who works in the government please enlighten us and respond with exactly how one gets defined as or as not a three letter agency of the United States Government. A rational and logical person would ask if they aren't an agency then what the fuck are classified as exactly and if they aren't an agency is the powers bestowed upon them even legal, forget the 16th Amendment arguement that everyone brings up. Might as well hang the DOJ and the IRS in one fell swoop for those legal son of bitches types that will take a legal fight on to the ends of the earth or until death takes them from the earth before giving up.
