Gold And The Fiat End-Game

Tyler Durden's picture

Our current fiat currency standard is terminal, nations around the world are dropping the U.S. dollar as a medium of exchange, central banks are buying gold, and Americans are seeing price inflation during an economic downturn. In order to avoid a systemic financial crisis here in the U.S., we need to focus on solutions. This mini-documentary expounds the problems and a solution to the real economic crisis hiding under the safety blanket of an equity market at all-time highs.

One of the opinions out there is that this is the begining of serious inflation, as equities are at all time highs, fiat currencies debauched and devalued, and PM's regularly capped or taken down.  The bullion run right now also is interesting, as my suspicion is that insiders are simply stealing what's available.

Whatever is happening, this is the end game in real time.  How long it lasts before kaboom is anyone's guess.

And on the Jim Willie, 'end of the Petro-Dollar' and new international gold trading order theme -

Interesting article on Veterans Today forecasting major war involving US and Russia because of precisely that

Author says that the reason the corrupt mainstream media has joined the Obama-bashing, the various scandals - IRS, AP, Benghazi etc. - is to box in Obama with an implicit threat, so he goes along with starting World War III in the Middle East ...

The reason for World War III being 'necessary', says the article, is that the US will collapse without the Petro-Dollar, and they cannot preserve the Petro-Dollar unless they bring down the Iranian government, which they cannot do because of Syria and the Russians ...

While the Russians and Chinese cannot allow the US to take control of Iranian as well as Saudi oil

Hence World War III is the last option for the US Fed and oligarch families, with the corollary the US then goes directly into more explicit dictatorship:

According to the resolution, the US will furnish Israel with diplomatic, military and economic support to defend its territory, citizens and existence. Paper is printed not money, you have been raised to believe that what a few generations ago was considered debt as actually money. You have only bank notes representing a hundred years of theft as a dollar was once worth 1/20th an ounce of gold.  Each year of an inflationary target of 2% puts YOU personally deeper in the hole, but it is much worse than 2% and we both know that. They are skimming from the top and pissing down on us with whats left we had better wake up soon.

The Congress shall have power To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures.

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The right of coining money, which is here taken from the States, was left in their hands by the Confederation, as a concurrent right with that of Congress, under an exception in favor of the exclusive right of Congress to regulate the alloy and value. In this instance, also, the new provision is an improvement on the old. Whilst the alloy and value depended on the general authority, a right of coinage in the particular States could have no other effect than to multiply expensive mints and diversify the forms and weights of the circulating pieces. The latter inconveniency defeats one purpose for which the power was originally submitted to the federal head; and as far as the former might prevent an inconvenient remittance of gold and silver to the central mint for recoinage, the end can be as well attained by local mints established under the general authority.

Yeah right.  How many people died in the partition of India and Pakistan?  That process went just peachy.

Those peace loving Brits.....  The Jallianwala Bagh massacre (also known as the Amritsar massacre), took place in the Jallianwala Bagh public garden in the northern Indian city of Amritsar on 13 April 1919. The shooting that took place was ordered by Brigadier-General Reginald E.H. Dyer.

On hearing that a meeting of 15,000 to 20,000 unarmed people including women, children and the elderly had assembled at Jallianwala Bagh, Dyer went with fifty Gurkha riflemen to a raised bank and ordered them to shoot at the crowd. Dyer continued the firing for about ten minutes, until the ammunition supply was almost exhausted; Dyer stated that 1,650 rounds had been fired, a number which seems to have been derived by counting empty cartridge cases picked up by the troops. Official British Indian sources gave a figure of 379 identified dead, with approximately 1,100 wounded. The casualty number estimated by the Indian National Congress was more than 1,500, with approximately 1,000 dead.

1,650 rounds / 50 rifleman = 33 rounds per man fired over ten minutes.  3 Rounds per minute per man.  So each rifleman spent 20 seconds per round casually picking out, aiming at, and firing at a helpless target.  Pretty darn ruthless way to kill unarmed civilians, being sure to not miss and make sure you kill as many as you can.

The British were happy to let the Boers have their little Afrikaner paradise, in the middle of nowhere.  Then they discovered gold there...  And everything changed.

Scorched earth, farms burnt to the ground, women and children in concentration camps (yes, many died in these camps).  And by the way, this was the first ever use of concentration camps.   Ruthless and sickening.

I bet they try a smash and grab tomorrow night...perfect timing.....long holiday weekend in the US. CTFC is now essentially openly endorsing their activities by complete non-action and blatantly turning away.  And then we have the Comex and the LBMA drained dry......

Have my ammo ready to pick up more bullion.  Last time they pulled this stunt, they crash silver right at the open. And they did the same to the gold four weeks ago.

Tomorrow night, six o'clock .....let's get ready to RUMMMMMBBBLLLLEEEEE!

Well....there will always be a demand for manual labor at rates below that paid to natural born citizens. Hence the jobs held by most immigrants to America (legal or not) from the late 19th century through today. This continues today in the US, as well as in many middle eastern countries, which actively recruit from south east asia to fill jobs the locals don't want to do.

If you're willing to work the required hours and accept their wages there are recruiters who'll be happy to set you up. And you might be able to add a little tagalog to youre repertoire while you're at it.

I don't disagree with this description of the problem, but the details for a solution seem a bit sparse. In my humble opinion, nothing short of a total revolution can deal with our problems and put us back on the path to economic prosperity. And our government, made up of career politicians who all have a vested interest in the current, failed system are simply not capable of providing solutions.

That is not to say that the revolution has to be violent. I think the struggle for civil rights in the 1950s provides the perfect template for how the revolution should play out. If enough people simply refuse to obey the government's rules and refuse to pay their taxes, the system will collapse of its own dead weight. Here's my proposal:

You have to wonder why the new $100 bill has been delayed for 3 years.  The latest announcement is that it will make its debut in October this year.  Meanwhile with the latest in capital controls, all foreign located outstanding old $100 bills are being returned to the US and destroyed.  Methinks the USD devaluation will occur upon the arrival of the new bill.  It will take at least 2 of the old ones to equal a new one, and all your bank accounts will be immediately adjusted.

Did anybody catch the blurb between 4:29 and 4:35, i.e. banks and credit card companies letting you "link" your gold holding to your credit card?

Hello!?  How stupid can you be, if you did that?  That is a perfect path for confiscation/nationalization by the banks.  You first buy the gold (and pay the margins), and then sell it (again pay margins) -- just to buy... Stuff?  Wow.  How dumb.

I know that Peter Schiff like to promote this via his own bank, but I strongly disagree with this option, for reasons stated.  Sorry Pete, I like you, but this makes no sense if you're not the bank handling the gold.

Part of the impetus of doing such things as linking cards to gold holdings is to disprove the notion that using gold as a base for money is antiquated.  Banks traditionally needed to have great integrity in order to persuade people to maintain hard assets with them yet now that level of trust has gone the way of the muppet.  If there were a "Gold Currency Card" that was accepted by vendors globally, who deposited and withdrew physical gold as the card owners, it would facilitate the idea of "Free Gold".

Anyone who would let a Bank "link" their gold to a credit card, or have any ability to grab savings is a total fool.

Right of Offset - (banking) the legal right of a bank to seize deposited funds to cover a loan that is in default.

The "that is in default" part is decided by the bank - not by you.  Instant confiscation whenever they decide.  Good luck "forcing" a bank to give you your money back.  Ha Ha.  Keep deposits in one bank, and get a credit card from a different bank. So YOU decide who gets paid and who might not, and when.

Your gold is far safer with you even after the unfortunate boating accident.
