A Perfectly Normal Fat-Fingerish Dump To Restart Trading
Why did the E-Mini just dump by 6 points on no news following the 6pm resumption of trading? Why not. Maybe someone hacked the vacuum tubes' calendar file and instead of Tuesday has pegged tomorrow as a Wednesday which takes away any "fundamental" reason to ramp futures and stocks (or perhaps someone leaked that after Tuesday we get a Wednesday when nothing levitationally magical happens, which however makes no sense: after all someone could just as easily refute that rumor with another rumor that yet another Tuesday will follow a week from tomorrow, offsetting the Wednesday rumor).
That, or your run of the mill fat finger.
Or, worst case, someone actually, gulp, selling with premeditated intent (which in the new normal is at least a 2nd degree felony, somewhere up there alongside marketslaughter).

Blood is on the trading floor, blood is on the keys...
Blood on the scarecrow, blood on the plow.
Ongoing poll shows that 75% of those who responded know for a fact that the stock market is a completely corrupted legalized theft operation:

sorry, though you were talking about the 50 + million deadbeats on food stamps.
Do not worry futures will magicaly be up by 12 points in the morning and will add another 8 during session...
Fat finger? That implies there's still a human out there trading. Or do HFTs have fingers now?
It's all just a failure to communicate.
They really meant to sell gold during the 'nobody else here' time, but got confused
"It's not my fault, it's your fault"
Too much blow during the break does that to you sometimes...
Not that unusual of a dump for me.
Damn you Waddle & Reed, this is unbelievable. Tomorrow is 21 of 21 Tuesday you dumb asses.
WTH are the SEC/CFTC/IRS watchdogs ?
They're busy watching porn...
Monday is the new Tuesday?
Tuseday will be the new Monday...
Tuesday May 35, 2013
It's buy the rumor--on Monday (that Tuesdays are going to be green), and sell the news--on Tuesday.
It's also like a contango.
Tuesdays maybe don't even need to be green. It's already baked in on Mondays.
it's a pre-Tuesday Muesday
Marvin the mindreader.
Sons of Scotland; it was an ugly finish today but we knew they were going to take back some ground and also that there are many massively-multiplaying idiot buyers who were going to load for no other reason than, 'The market goes up every Tuesday!'
There are now loads of playahs who have never seen a 5% correction, still less 10-15%.
Oh, it will be good.
I say 169.07 SPY is HOY.
this tuesday bullshit is setting up to end in the mother of all flash crashes.
This tuesday will be the one! The idiots front-run it too soon! So 50 or more points up and then... TIMBERRRR!
funny to see this on a msm site.

I hope so but whatever happens I ain't selling my short positions,
Ultimately they will be profitable.
Long PMs, short general equities.
Love the spirit. Even if you turn out wrong <don't think so> you deserve a green thumbs up.
Felony? Not under Eric 'Fast and Furious' Holder.
"Gun Running"s the preferred nomenclature
there are just so many moles that keep popping up that could trigger chaos/CDS/default, etc. that I don't see how something fairly catastrophic doesn't happen soon. Markets have never been so manipulated.
I trade futes and cmdtys, and have spoos, euro, gold, silver, and crude all up, and the whipsaw moves today were just psycho. The screens were all like one of those gambling machines where the lever is pulled and it randomly pops up BAR, 7, etc. I barely even traded, just absolutely nuts.
Why bother with all the work? Just write a check to goldman for the full balance of your account.
Their com lines are so fast now that the Tuesday orders are entered on late Monday?
Looks better on Tuesday if you start low and move higher all day. Easier this way.
Somebody wants out . NOW!
I'm pleased to see -3.25 on the ES, but let's face it, it's pretty sad that we get pumped about a few points shaved off the ES. Where are the September 2008 moves of yesteryear?
Or even the glory days of 2011
Probably just stopping out everyone who went in long at the close knowing tomorrow is Tuesday. This is the predictable game plan of manipulated markets. They ramp so consistently on Tuesdays that eventually everyone piles in because it is the no-brainer trade of the century, then they pick a Tuesday to change the rules. Reminds me of the shell game guy. He always lets you win a few times before he starts hiding the ball.
Tim Knight; volatility has been all but ironed out by the Bearded Clam, per orders from Dubya's administration and brought forward by The One and his Chicago gang. It is the market trading equivalent of saltpeter. Nonetheless it is heartening to see the damned thing falter.
It's a simple equation: Asia all 2% neg (sans Japan's market take-down), USD bid over 20% to 30%, EUR sub 1.30 pref at 1.20, Futures 2% neg, Euro futures 2% neg
But for all that to follow through you need HFT collapsing all the MA's (scalping) and possibly a non-pomo day but not exclusively.
And for that to occur we need a chaos moment, either internal or external:
*Closet bet (external) for total market annihilation is a war, major disaster, pandemic etc. Viola!:
"The China National Offshore Oil Corporation estimates the South China Sea may hold about five times more undiscovered natural gas than the country's current proved reserves, according to the US Energy Information Administration."

*Closet bet (internal) is a major UST dump and global bond market collapse.
Otherwise you buy dips trade with HFTs, all the while studying what happened with Japan recently as a lesson on economic warfare (preclusive purchasing), more so messing with shot and long dated yields. i.e creating sharp volatility within the short end. Just like Japan.
someone tripped over a machine - it will be fixed shortly
I bet it was NY Fed
A rouge gangster bank: the NY Fed
It's hilarious that a bank that is Wall Street's backstop boy is funding the ECB and pretty much the European banks on a daily basis, also of late just backstopped a slew of Japan banks.
This is only allowed in precious metals markets... Somebody confused the symbols of the securities to sell.
Somebody probably got a bit disoriented because of the polar shift.

Too cool, if true !!
Please Tyler,
Can you alert the world that the IRS is apparently pestering other people than the Tea Party. I just got of the phone with my US operator since two months (visiting with family, 3 kids the youngest is 11 months). Since Thursday night I am not able to make international calls due to technical issues and I have been promised callbacks from tech/supervisors every day. Tonight when it still had not happened I got a bit upset, the woman (sneaky false bitch) on the other side then said something was fraudulent. I on the other hand said I'm not a kingpin drugdealer just a bit finance dealing but I do have to handle Europe while Im here.
This creature then tells me IRS is involved, I then again explain I am here visiting with spouse, 3 kids younger than 3,5 and I don't see how I can be a TARGET. I ask for a supervisor who just kept the same mantra re investigating tech issues.
If the IRS is now also following foreigners buying simcards without having any business in the US, just visiting for two months due to maternity leave, I think this is beyond control. 1984 is so outdated.....
The operateror is Ultra.me
Again never use them if you are a foreigner visiting the US, or rather I must say the need of visiting the US has dramatically deteriorated.
Tyler make something out of this, its way beyond return if this is true.
Best rgds
It's the Fed's tryouts for their new HFT position. "Show us how you can best discombobulate the markets with a budget of 10,000 after hours contracts as your limit."
It's just "Who wants to be a Star" with these cwunts... don't you know this?
