I'm not a CRIP...
Stop it. You're confusing me. I thought democrats bad, republicans good... Or is it the other way around???
It's Republicans bad, Democrats worse.

Naaah. It's 'rats and repugnicans as one big happy club.
Their definitely not in the same club, their definitely not happy, and their policies are definitely not identical -- even if they are similar.

I don't think anyone would mind if you just clicked "edit" and changed the word in the original text. I'm sure someone could get bent out of shape if you changed the intent of the comment, but I hope everyone will think fixing typos is okay. I know that some blogs won't let you edit; apparently they trust us (at least sometimes) not to be stupid about it here.
Curiously, I have no apparent, “edit”, link for the page to which you are referring. 'But, can edit others! Have I been flagged?
Don’t drone me bro!
Oh, but, of course I can edit this one.
FWIW - I think you can edit until a post is replied to...no time limit. You replied to your post to add your edit, so now you can't edit the original.
edit: Sorry, didn't see Jeff M's reply below before I shot from the lip...
'sorry i'm not more familiar with how to post this stuff.
You have a limited time to edit a comment. I don't know, maybe 5-10 minutes.
actually i think you can edit a comment until another comment upon it has been made.
there are two sides to every story... I'm sure there is a perfectly logical explanation for trashing the bill of rights.. don't rush to judgment! http://tinyurl.com/n8hmfya
"Nobody is listening to your telephone calls."
Little Dick's word choice isn't quite as catchy as Tricky Dick's, but the fact that he didn't use I, My, or Me is a tell.
IMPEACH AND IMPRISON THE IMPERIAL IMPOSTER IMMEDIATELY.
A major player in the industrial military complex would agree that nothing has changed, because they don't want anything to change.
If/when things change, the major players are out of business.
To keep from giong out of business, the major players don't allow anything to change.
They make the rules and control the game.
Like the casino owners, they control the gaming and keep extracting $$$ from the masses...
All you can change is the way you do or don't do business with them.
What they don't know they can't control.
I explained to my dad the significance of the military industrial complex some time ago. The cost of empire, I mean defense, approaches $1 trillion dollars a year. I arrive at that figure by taking DOD spending and adding back 30% which was probably originally counted as DOD spending, then re-allocated by accountants.
When you can't reduce the cost of empire you can reduce the appearance of cost!
So any way, I explained to him, that is $1000 billion every year! A lot of that money is paid to corporations. And these corporations of course have an earnings multiple. Putting the value of $1 trillion of defense spending at probably over $10 trillion of market capitalization! And if you reduce spending...
Your Dad probably thought you were nuts and that Eisenhower was the last great POTUS.
Your dad mighta had something there...
Eisenhower was great ... but, unfortunately many of those that came of age in the 50's believe something like his "Watch Out for th MIC" is pure tin. Why didn't they take his parting message seriously?
For the same reason people didn't (and don't) take Washington's parting message seriously.
We were all over Watergate.
After all Obama/Holder/etc.
have done, where is the outrage?
Where is the action?
How do we remain this passive?
The standard American story of 'Watergate' is a hoax ... The removal of US President Nixon was a stage-managed, military-CIA coup, only less bloody than the JFK removal by bullet in 1963.
So-called 'brave Watergate reporter' Bob Woodward - still selling lies and propaganda today - is a fraud and fake, he works for the military and CIA, and America's shadow government of ruling oligarch families.
In the late 1960s Bob Woodward was in the US Navy working for Naval Intelligence under Admiral Thomas Moorer. In 1970 Admiral Moorer became head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff - head of the whole US military - and Woodward theoretically left military intelligence to become a planted Washington Post 'reporter' as his new intelligence assignment. -
Also in 1970, Admiral Moorer started running a spy ring against the Nixon White House, with the US military thinking Nixon and Kissinger were getting 'soft on Communists' etc. Navy Yeoman Charles Redford stole many White House documents and so on for the joint chiefs, US Admiral Elmo Zumwalt getting some of the documents.
The spy ring - US military against the White House - was discovered at the end of 1971. But just like with the military 'business plot' planned coup in the 1930s against US President Franklin Roosevelt, exposed by US Marine General Smedley Butler ('War is a Racket'), and Roosevelt's agreement not to prosecute the American elite (including grand-pappy Bush) ... Nixon agreed to cover-up the military spy ring.
Likely fearing to end up dead like JFK, Nixon always feared to publicly denounce it for the rest of his life, tho did not deny it.
Despite Nixon's agreement to shut up and not prosecute, the military remained unhappy, along with the American elite, who wanted Nixon out ... Nixon, for all his flaws, had come to the same conclusions as Jack Kennedy ... in other words, make some peace with the commies, and try to build a better life for Americans ... Amazingly, Nixon even tried to give everyone in the US European-style health insurance (his 'CHIP' programme - much better than Obamacare.)
So Watergate was magnified into a scandal for a coup, the Washington Post brave 'reporters' Woodward and Bernstein - with Woodward still loyal to his old boss Admiral Moorer ... they took Nixon down.
A major ally was the manipulative John Dean, Nixon's lawyer in the White House, working his own angles, and betraying Nixon to the coup plotters, and made a 'media darling' from among the Nixon gang, tho Dean maybe was the worst snake among the bunch.
And ever since, Bob Woodward's fake Washington Post - John Dean version of the Watergate 'story' has dominated. ... and the truth still basically squashed today, by the dominant media framework ... Nearly everybody believes Watergate was some kind of pro-populist 'exposé'.
A lot of the Watergate facts has come out from investigators Len Colodny and Robert Gettlin, a book 'Silent Coup' ... more detail on a website associated with them

@bank guy, thank you. Should I just look into "mass hypnosis" to understand our passivity in the face of tyranny?
"In no small way, Richard Nixon helped to create the Bush presidential dynasty.
What disposed Nixon so positively toward the Bushes? A little-known fact, certainly missing from the many splendid biographies of the thirty-seventh president, is the likely role of Poppy Bush’s father, Prescott, in launching Nixon’s own political career.
Beyond that, the depth and complexity of the ongoing relationship between Nixon and the Bushes, a relationship that spanned nearly three decades, has somehow eluded most historians. An index search of the name Bush in the major Nixon biographies—including even those published after George H. W. Bush rose to the presidency—finds at most a handful of mentions, and in some cases, none at all.
The long overlooked Nixon-Bush story is a tale filled with plots and counterplots, power lust and ego trips, trust and betrayal, strategic alliances and rude revenge. It has a kind of mythic circularity: the elite Bush clan created the “populist” Nixon so that a President Nixon could later play a major role in creating a Bush political dynasty. And finally, the trusted Bushes, having gotten where they wanted, could play a role in Nixon’s fall."

Good job, Tyler. It worked again!
Just get the little Macro workin' so you just push "Ctrl-N", or "Ctrl-B" and out pops some inane collection of "nnnmnmn...mmmnmmn...NIXON...mnmnmnmm...BUSH...mmmnmnmnmnmnnn".
Like mullet fishin' in Florida. Throw out the net, have a cold one and the fish just jump in.
Nixon's dead. Bush ain't the President.
OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT NOW. Don't you get it? Another Essay on "Comparisons between NIXON, BUSH and obama" just don't get it anymore.
"Oh, but Lenin realized as he was dying that maybe his views of the State Apparatus were about to be abused".
"Party members tried to talk to Mao but Mao was quite paranoid by then".
OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT NOW. Don't you get it? It's too late for that other nonsense. Obama is the President NOW. NOW!
Don't you get it?
Do Not Make Fun of My Haircut!

Ah, the crap they could get away with in the pre-internet era....
Nixon was scuttled by the PTB when he instituted price controls--his final bad move in a series of awful ones; the man, while demonstrably bright (he did understand who the PTB were very clearly, and hired Kissinger accordingly--unlike LBJ), just could never get over being Nixon, a guy from a humble Quaker background who never really fit in anywhere in the power sphere, a man always ill at ease in his own skin; the nervousness and sweating so evident that it was palpable in all TV appearances undoubtedly stemmed from this terminal unease. When one contrasts this with Ike, who detested him, BTW, the differences are stunning. Ike came from a similar humble Kansas background, but showed promise as a leader from his early years, graduating from West Point in 1915, and then becoming the head of Allied Forces in Europe during WWII, prior to the Presidency; Nixon never managed to get elected past Congressman before his elevation to the Vice Presidency. Ike, despite a lack of sophisticated practice with emerging video techniques, always showed an assurance in speech and manner as if he were simply switching fatigues for a suit.
Should any of you care to look at the admittedly ageing videos, you will see that both Ike and Nixon were quite capable of speaking off text (and certainly without a teleprompter, which did not exist) during their political careers...Which, given today's fiasco, should give us all some serious pause for reflexion.
Nixon was a force, but did many perplexing things.
LOL...
"Perplexing"
That is the funniest understatement of recent times.
Talking about Tricky Dick, where is he when we need him?
Or Jimmy Carter, I actually miss him, now!
Nixon was 'scuttled' for being a Republican, and employing the dirty tricks of the Democrat Presidents prior.
Only fools and liars still pretend that the MSM has treated everyone equally.
I gave you a +1... Super Saiyan Power gave you +6!
(Tyler understands weighted algos, of course)
The DEA, nixon's gift that keeps on giving. But finding the authority to criminalize mariujana in the commerce clause, that was pure evil genius and that was Haldeman's doing.
I think he was taking lessons from Kissinger who fills in when Satan needs to take a vacation.
Do you think they are releasing all this nSA police state shit to get us prepped for who really killed Kennedy when they release the sealed records on the 50 th anniverary in November?
Gonna be a long hot summer if this keeps up.

Joe Biden would become another Spiro T. Agnew.

Biden would be an improvement. At least he sometimes tells the truth by mistake. O just act's wierd when he's lying; not that there is much tape of him telling the truth to compare it with.
WHEN, he's lying?
What HASN'T the Obowel Movement lied about?
As long as we have high fructose corn syrup readily available everything is OK /sarc.
Well, that and GMO soy. It's what's for dinner. And breakfast. And lunch.

don't forget to wash that all down with a mighty big glass of cooool fluoridated water!!!!!
I'm waiting for sweet corn with a halibut gene in it........what could go wrong?
It's CORN SUGAR dammit!

Sorry. Daily double
Obama is a crook.
+ 17 bazillion
crook is so bland, it doesn't really capture the full spectrum of his abilities.
He's a harvard educated constitutional lawyer, have some respect please, realize he's a motherfucking cocksucking piece of shit liar, thieve and traitorous corporatist nazi.
he had to work for everything he is today, his ghost written book told me so.
He also has ears big enough that Michelle must use them for handles when she shoves his face into her crotch for a little "hollerin up the gulch" as she romantically puts it.
P.S. NSA when you read this don't blow soda out your nose. also highlight the swearwords before you give Obama his copy of my posting. Thank you police state for watching out for terrorists and keeping a straight face while you lie to us daily.
Obama is a community activist, in other words a ward heeler. The power is elsewhere.
Yes, NSA Scum, thanks for betraying your Republic and your fellow citizens.
If any of you had any morals, you'd trash the computers.
Tools.
"Hollerin up the gulch" reportedly gives you throat cancer. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
You are a master of the obvious........
the obvious often finishes like the proverbial purple robes of the naked emperor; he is the only one who thinks he wears them...blinded by his ivory tower hubris and world fame in name of founding fathers' principles.
when we hit those bare bones of truth, rattling like omens to our faces, we will be in existential limbo as the people will have to choose whether we want to stay sheeple or become responsible people. It's first world 500 year blood n guts, hope and faith tradition which is a stake.
Why did the Renaissance and Enlightenment occur if its only issue is back to the Rubicon and the Dark Ages again?
I'll leave it to Daltrey...
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
Change it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fall that's all
But the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!
I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie
Do ya?
There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
"Change it had to come
We knew it all along"
.....says it all.
Sorry I won't rally behind a pop song written by a child molester who got off the hook due to his music-industry-liberal-politic-connections.
Fuck him and fuck the Who. I'm done. They buried this shit in the media (the "memory hole") so they thought we'd forget. I ain't forgetting.
Who is he who carries the anthems of the depraved?
I want an Obixon mask so i can rob banks with it.
The best way to rob a bank is to own it.

Secede and prosper.
This is too funny. Please, somebody send this to POTUS. He must see this....one tyrant, control freak, to another! Do you think NSA will send it to him?
You can address them directly. I'm sure they read this site.
Dear surveillance agent, please would you be so kind of forwarding that picture to POTUS?
Thanks 1234 and surveillance agent for all your good help!
Hunter S Thompson, if he were still alive might say,

Thank God Obama would never do anything like that!
Even if all of this is true, I'm not sure I could ever trust Nixon just because of one fact alone.
He apparently tried to fix the price of gasoline below a maximum, as I recall, and I cannot support that.
If only price fixing were not tolerated in any US markets!!!
Except, I think, for one exception . . .
During WWII they apparently fixed the price of many rationed goods for the support of the war effort. I cannot oppose doing something like that. (Assuming I support the war and can see the benefit of the rationed item for winning the war. Just don't forget, that is going to make that item scarce.)
Article 2:

Is that a racist suggestion he was involved?
Just askin'
40 years and it appears nothing has changed...
I disagree.........it seems to have gotten worse.
the magnitude has increased. and the velocity of the fucking over of the populace, once we were the citizens from whom the government sprang now we are all terrorists or proto-terrorists to be survielled and to be taxed to pay for the privilege of being spyed on 24/7
Police state is too kind. prison state would be more apt. prisoners of a corrupt economic system bent on destroying us simply by using it. We are the prisoners working on the wardens home, building the masters home to be rewarded with shallow graves and bullets in the back.
'nothing has changed!?!?!!?'
Please..... no need to burgularize offices in the Watergate when you can listen in on every phoine call and read every e-mail. Government can spy on anyone anytime. The media is under full control and spouts onlyscripted propaganda. Any dissent is shut down in short order - how long did OWS last? The sheep are obedient and the 'silent majoprity' oblivious and very silent - those on the left and the right who qiuestion thigns are marginalized as 'nuts' and ignored by the media. HOW LONG have we been at war now? How many crimes have gone unprosecuted and unpunished - both war crimes and financial crimes?
Obama has continued the path Bush Cheney was following - a path that's only gotten worse since Nixon.
'Change? Hope?' - a great marketing strategy for 'more of the same'
one thing that hasn't changed is the side the media is on
hint: Its not yours
What HASN'T Obama lied about?
Eating dog.
But he said 'he stopped eating dog', so how do we know?
The only true answers to the question are
1) Escalating the Afghani war, leading to record troop deaths
and
2) His pet turtle!
The part about "funamentally transforming the country."
The "into what?" part was left to your imagination.
It's now a government-centric empire with strong fascist overtones, 1984-like surveilance and prosecution of it's own citizens, no respect for rule of law and naked power-grabbing among elites by the most thuggish methods possible.
Surprise! Not what you imagined? Well listen, he sure as shit didn't lie about it! The US has definitely been "fundamentally transformed."
If you have a complaint, please drop a note in the suggestion box and someone from the IRS, FBI or NSA will get back to you shortly.
If we go back to the speeches, and look at the context of the statement "fundamentally transforming the country", you will see that it was always framed by the argument that it would make the country better, which is why he did not say....."i will fully implement a Marxist style of Communism". which is what the statement roughly translates into.......
A question of means and ends, as long as this conflict between Oligachy and Democracy stays the issue in human society.
To the Oligarchy democracy is a means to achieve an end : their own perennial hold on power. So for them democracy is a facade behind which the party goes on. That the escalator ensures renewal of those who make it to the top is not questioned as there are no divine rulers, no blood lines. Being a member is based on merit; dominus and mercator being its two rules.
To the people democracy is an end. It ensures their freedom from serfdom. It keeps the Oligarchy at bay. But its unstable equilibrium as populism leads to decay, and back we go.
When a society cannot achieve balance in this social tension between two antagonistic classes then there is internal upheaval or external war. Always. Pax AMericana can decay like all other empires before it, but a new one will emerge.
We are in times when a new order will emerge. But it won't change the perennial conflict between Oligarchy and democracy. Whoever wins in this paradigm change; will find that things change so that they stay the same.
When social orders disappear and top down logic is no longer the issue then we will really have evolved to peer to peer age.
Big step like a trip to the moon.
I am not a lying, psychopathic, fear mongering, constitution hating, gun grabbing, socialist scumbag, illegal alien crook...........
According to articles published here,
Nixon Bush and Obama are 'indistiguishable' which many a cretin here has demonstrated that they are in agreeance.........rubbish!

This important case—all the more relevant in the wake of this week's disclosures—was triggered after Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), a member of the Senate intelligence committee, started crying foul in 2011 about US government snooping. As a member of the intelligence committee, he had learned about domestic surveillance activity affecting American citizens that he believed was improper. He and Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.), another intelligence committee member, raised only vague warnings about this data collection, because they could not reveal the details of the classified program that concerned them. But in July 2012, Wyden was able to get the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to declassify two statements that he wanted to issue publicly. They were:

How do you know when a politician is lying? His lips are moving!
The only problem with impeaching Obama is that Biden takes over - and no one wants a shit head like Biden in there.
If Biden runs away, John Kerry takes over.
It just gets worse as you go down the line.
It does not matter Who takes over, they all take their orders from Satan.

Good work. I suggest providing links in the future. Why have them continue reading the Wall Street Urinal when they can see the bigger picture straight from the horse’s mouth.

Douche-inator.
Nixon never had a spending problem like this asshole does.
Maybe not, but in one fell swoop, Nixon took the USA off the Gold Standard. That one move caused what we have today throughout the world; a fiat currency generation in which the value of everything is made up. Employment numbers, inflation rates, net worth, GDP, you name it. When you go off the Gold Standard, you are giving carte blanche to politicians to spend as much as they want forever!!!! The farther you get away from the date in which the gold standard was abolished, the less your money will buy-FACT. And everyone wonders why they have to work so hard so at the end of the day they have little or nothing to show for it. Generally speaking, the scarcity of an item and the demand for it, (in this case the dollar), determines its value. Thanks to the FED, dollars aren't scarce and banks are hoarding them because there's a lack of demand for those dollars and banks aren't going to make a penny off zero percent interest rates.
You know, I was a young man back then, I remember all that.

I would like the thank the posters here who explained what was actually going on with Watergate. At the time I was very young and bought the party line that this episode showed "how the system works". A few years later I read books like "The Powers that Be" that glorified the big media outlets and personalities. It was a heady time with all the books being published exposing things from the past made people feel like the 4th estate was truly independent and the system of checks and balances was working well. I watched the CBS evening news with my family, read the newspaper and felt well informed.
Decades later, having lost the interest in "public affairs" that I had in hs and college, I would sometimes hear or about some of the media people that were prominent during that period. And that's when I started scratching my head. It seems as if the people who exposed Watergage ended up becoming very prominent. And when it was discovered that "deep throat" was actually a government insider my internal bullshit meter push all the way into the red. But I just couldn't connect the dots. So I want to thank you guys again for explaining things. The last vestiges of a main stream free press died with the "suicide" of san jose mercury news reporter Gary Webb who reported on the CIA/Contra connection to the crack cocaine epidemic in Southern California.
