Tyler Durden's picture

Presented with little comment aside to ask - just what are the Japanese so confident about, now that two of three pillars of Abe(g)nomics appear to be cracking?

I'm drawing the confidence charts for the average investor for this month.

do you concur your confident?

it would be cool if you said yes because than I would get a 100% confident score out of 1. markets would rally and stuff.

what...?

can't hear you....

I'll take that as a yes.

A negative feedback loop from the equity markets will probably kick in shortly and dent that confidence somewhat.

Sheesh, the lag effect takes more than a minute.

Give it a month & the cracks will show in Japan too.

Business is confident in Japan because of the fall of the Yen.  Their products are now 25% cheaper overseas.

Temporary euphoria, me thinks.  Input costs will catch up once existing cost averaged commodities require replacement.

Wonder how long the South Koreans will remain passive here? One of the key factors for this Abenomics to work in the longer term will impact South Korea and Taiwan electronics exports etc[not to mention China].Without even going back in history me think some deep grudges still exist.

The Japanese allowed themselves to be taken over the abyss before and it seems likely thats where they're headed again. It seems irrationality is a part of the Japanese psyche.

When governments/banks are feasting, the people are starving.  When governments/banks starves, the people feast (and are confident).

Perffectly normal.
