The NSA Spy Scandal Debate: Obama 2013 Vs Biden 2006
Several days ago, in the damage control aftermath of Snowden's NSA espionage conspiracy fact confirmation, Barack Obama took to the TV pulpit where he appealed to the nation, as he always does in times of strife, explaining that one can't have 100% security and 100% privacy. He said some other things, all of which as usual wrapped in rhetorical brilliance, if holding little of pragmatic and realistic value. So who better the debate the president's attempts at damage control than the vice president himself. Here, for your viewing pleasure, is Joe Biden, circa 2013 debating Barack Obama, circa 2013.
As for the false dichotomy between security and personal privacy and liberty, old Ben said it best.

Rhetorical brilliance??
I have yet to hear him utter anything but metrosexual blather.
But your leg, I'll bet it does tingle.. does it not?
It did... whats more, Ben didnt have a teleprompter to read that from.
Hussein Obama is a thug. Don't care what he says because I know it's not for my own good.
Even those two people standing behind The Man can tell he's lying.
Watch closely for the forked tounge at 1:06...

Franklin vs. Obama
Who is the smartest, least corrupt and has the best interests of all Americans at heart?
Barry eating his own shit sandwich.
Gotta love it.
And now this..."someone" hacked into Sharyl Attkisson’s computer(s)...
“A cyber security firm hired by CBS News has determined through forensic analysis that Sharyl Attkisson’s computer was accessed by an unauthorized, external, unknown party on multiple occasions late in 2012. Evidence suggests this party performed all access remotely using Attkisson’s accounts. While no malicious code was found, forensic analysis revealed an intruder had executed commands that appeared to involve search and exfiltration of data.
This party also used sophisticated methods to remove all possible indications of unauthorized activity, and alter system times to cause further confusion.
CBS News is taking steps to identify the responsible party and their method of access.”

Obviously just another one of those rogue, low level staffers we've been hearing so much about...lol.
Just wait until the Great Utah Filing Cabinet is complete.

I'm doing my part to fill it up ;-)
What do politicians and sperm have in common?
Each has about a 1 in 100 million chance of becoming an actual human being...

that anti-statist biden!
defender of the constitution.
defender of the bill of rights.
21-gun salute to jojo!
this one weird trick lets you collect eveyone's emails!
I can see him now, shooting CD's of peoples un-needed data off his balcony.
Pull!!!
"We're going to have to make some choices as a society."
This sentence should be:
"We're going to have to make some choices for you as a society."
This is obviously not being left to the people to decide.
If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
-Madison
There is LITTLE the Founding Fathers missed. They fought the same shit way back then and crafted a Constitution that they thought would cover the bases..... and it did. Unfortunately, the sheeple have strayed far and away from it. There is likley not a single politician alive today who could justifiably wipe the ass of Washington, Jefferson, Franklin or any of the other 53 brave men who stepped up to make the USA happen. It is truely sad.
54 People? Sounds like a textbook oligarchy to me.
And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
Read it: http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/
Yeah, read that. But go to the 2:00 mark on the video linked at the top of the article and watch the eyes of the black dude standing to right of Obama while you listen to what Odouchebag is saying. Pure comedy.
I am Chumbawamba.
To find out what Politics means we look at the parts of the word: Poly, which means 'many' and tics which are blood sucking parasites.
.
Most of what they missed was probably considered common sense at the time and thus presumed to fall under the ninth and tenth amendments.
They made one critical misjudgement, though, in their endeavors to shackle those powers a central government would be tempted to abuse. They needed to contemplate the behavior of a central government run by the most criminally corrupt members of society, with legislation sold to the highest bidders and interpreted by courts functioning not as a justice system, but a legal system.
A few suggestions for improvement off the top of my head:
No executive orders. The president cannot legislate.
No relegation of powers to other branches. Example: congress must declare war against an enemy nation before the president can order military deployments.
Laws cannot exempt or give special treatment to legislators, law enforcement, government employees, agents or contractors of the government, or the military.
The relationship between the states and the central government is voluntary. Secession is explicitly permitted.
Interstate commerce means exactly that - tangible, demonstrable commerce, not potential or theoretical commerce or effects.
Modified stare decisis: court decisions which increase the scope or power of centralized government may not be used to establish case law or binding precedent.
That's a start, anyway.
it feels good to imagine things like that sometimes
+1
Like your list (except secession anyway).
Also,
Direct election of president and vice-president (separate offices).
Juries able to judge both facts at issue and law as applied in all cases.
You're a good philosopher but a poor student of history.
You're correct that many rights were so ordinary and common back in the day they weren't even considered necessary to specifically enumerate in the Bill of Rights. One glaring example is the right to travel. It is abundantly clear from literally hundreds of high court cases over time, particularly since the advent of the automobile, and the right to travel has been reiterated time and again as a fundamental, unalienable right of the people. The people also own the streets, roads and highways. Yet these days, try getting in an non-registered car to travel. You'll get stopped for not having registration (which is not required to use one's property on public roads) and then probably either ticketed or arrested for not having a driver's license (again, not required to travel, only to drive). Search the web for "right to travel" and marvel at the spectacle.
Now, as for the rest of your complaint, I think you are misinterpreting what the Founding Fathers gave us. First of all, the federal (central) government was initially so weak, the only way it could fund itself was to collect various excise taxes, normally on the various venues of commerce that the Federal government is delegated to regulate. But it was enough to performs its intended delegated functions, and it did so just fine. In fact, today, the Federal government is well-funded, so well in fact that it gives billions of dollars in foreign aid yearly to those paragons of democracy, Israel and Egypt, among other US satraps of the world. And if you think it comes from income taxes, you're wrong. It still comes from excise taxes. Your voluntary income taxes go towards paying off the debt from the Revolutionary War (oh, the rabbit hole goes deep, my friends), a perpetual debt that was never intended to be extinguished, just like student loans and credit cards. You think this trick is new, this debt enslavement? First They perfected it on nations, now they are employing it on each man and woman. But I digress. The federal government we have today is an unmanageable leviathan that was never meant to be and must ultimately be slain to be overcome. I don't believe there's any way to repair it. It's Rome 2000 for us.
Lincoln issued the first "Executive Order". Before that, an executive order was an internal affair, directed at the agency that the president was commanding. But Lincoln's order of October 20, 1862, which was an extra-constitutional usurpation of power (requires time to argue properly), was retroactively labeled as EO #1 in 1907 when the Executive Order was codified and enumerated as US (i.e. District of Columbia) corporate policy. It's interesting they chose to begin numbering the EOs from Lincoln's order of 10/10/1862, which was perhaps the first extra-constitutional usurpation of the (then) modern presidency. So, no need to do away with a power not already delegated: executive orders to legislate the nation's laws are not constitutional, but they are perfectly fine to instruct the employees of the federal government, for which they are truly intended.
The same is true of the power to declare war and the air (and reality) of total immunity government servants want to afford themselves these days. Its a total perversion of the Constitution, but perfectly acceptable for a corporation to employ as its private policy. So the corollary is, if you don't want to be affected by their policy, don't be an employee (subject) of US Inc.
The relationship between the states and the federal government is not the problem. The delegation of authority is specific and explicit: it emanates from the people to the states, which then further delegate their authority to the federal government by agency of the people. Secession is unnecessary as a remedy for grievance if the federal government were checked and relegated back to its proper role. The reason secession is not a right inherent in the Constitution ready to be employed willy-nilly is because the people want a stable government over which they are always master. They want stability in their lines of trade and commerce between Union states. If a state could secede anytime over some nit-picky shit then--guaranteed--the united States of America would never have gotten off the ground because there would have been so many secessions caused over petty differences and squabbles between states that it would have soon proved imprudent to allow such a policy if one were interested in a stable union.
So you got the right idea, you just don't need to re-invent the wheel. Everything we need is already there to fix our problems. The real problem is ignorance ("My people perish for lack of knowledge" - Hosea 4:6).
I am Chumbawamba.
Read some more history. There were lots of folks who were against ratifying the Federal Constitution and viewed it as a naked power grab.
A quote from Patrick Henry as to why he wouldn't attend the convention: because he "smelt a rat in Philadelphia, tending toward the monarchy."
"Who ya gonna call .... Jizz Busters !"
One approach to cutting through this ongoing, sickening, devious, tyrannical, manipulative so-called-presidential 'talk' is to look for the inarticulate major premise, in this case, "you all asked for 100% security, didn't you, know what I'm sayin' ", and then find the fallacy, in this instance, when did I for one ever ask for that, and when did the arrogantly and presumptuously asserted public "you" ever ask for that degree of security?
So none of us now or ever asked for such security, and you want us to sacrifice and give up exactly what?
The people of Bahston seem to want 100% safety. They were happy, no, DELERIOUSLY HAPPY, to be ousted from their homes at gunpoint, so do you think that they would object to just a little tyranny from their saviours? What's tyranny to you is security and familiarity to them. They're not giving up anything that they are aware of, they've already (unwittingly, some might say) lost it.
Oblahblah on vacation in Hawaii a while back:
"Yo Snowden, just stopped by to say hello and thanks for all your hard work for my national security agency. Clapper says that you, like me, are a real genius for a high school dropout. Say, there's a right-wing nut-job reporter who has been asking me real questions, and doing it in public. Snowden, I need you to use those hacker skills to help me out just a bit, put this bitch in her place. Oh, and if ya don't mind, got a bash next week at the WH, and we're looking for a hot pole dancer to perform. And we'll bump that salary up to $200k if she'll give Clinton the treatment..."
As for Barry eating his own shit sandwich...
Come on now... we all know the man does not eat bread!
And where do you think that "grin" came from?
Who is this Ben Franklin guy? Isn't he just some capitalist loser that was put out of business by Walmart? How is this question even relevant?
/sarc off
It's so funny to watch them fidget and cast those "I can't believe you just said that," "You did, you really did just say that," "Do you even know what you're saying, the implications of it" glances at him as he pauses at and fumbles his phrases...
I just watched Liberty's Kids with my kids. It is a PBS cartoon from a few years back about the Revolution. The topic was the surveillance through the postal service by King George and why Franklin was charged with developing the new colonial postal service. The more things change...
PS Too bad about Franklin being a satanist pedophile though. I might otherwise think that he is a good guy, like my young children.
Satanist pedophile?
Atheist.
Fart Proudly.
I prefer to call them Luciferian Sodomites.
"a satanist pedophile though."
Any tangible evidence in this regard? Of course I am not expecting photos.
While we are at it. Where did you take the children from? You should give them back.
Call him a satanist pedophile, and I am flamed. Call him and an elitist self interested banker, and this I get polite clapping.

Dumb and Dumber...can't wait to see what kind of excrement the parties fling onto the screens of the Sheeple come 2016.
Absolute Buffoonery!
But he's so uneloquent
What is the military waiting for to overthrow these treasonous cunts?
You know the dudes at the top are talking about it. Of that you can be certain.
If so, they need to be far, far more discreet than Petraeus.
And no taking chances with Neocons, who'll betray them to TPTB or to people with dual-allegiance.
I don't know if they can trust the CIA, FBI, NSA... Can't trust the courts, or the banks...
It might be a real short list of people already in gov't, that haven't been compromised (blackmailed, bribed, intimidated, etc.)
And notice the abrupt (well making it seem more like always been) change of heart of the press with respect to the "listenings"?
At first outrage that one of thiers had been hacked, taped, investigated, fucked about with... and now only a few days later, everything's all OK by them, Snowden is a cross-dressing pervert pansy assed imature crazy idiot, etc.
Betcha betcha betcha the word went out to the Press that You Will Comply of Be Outed for Whateverthefuck We Want to Make It Be You'd Be Embarrassed and Ruined By.
Keep Fighting.
They have everything of your life. Your only mistake is to be ashamed about any of it and let them use it as leverage. You have skeletons? Out them, own them, repent for them, and there is no power left. Their power is based on your internal shame / guilt / fear. You have secrets? Tell them to the people who might be hurt by them, explain, and ask forgiveness. An open and loving heart gives them no power.
This is why the little kids are used. For them, for those who cannot come clean, sadly: not our juridiction. Run, run, run. And the Church is at the centre of that. The Angels are not amused. We will hunt them until the ends of their existence.
For the rest: Fuck them. This was why Rap Music got perverted: too much truth to power and hope for the Black community. For all you hopeless rascists, they got fucked since MLK. They're on your side, you muppets, and got fucked over so badly it's not even funny. They were fighting this fight before you even knew it existed. If you need a translation: playing by the rules lead to them getting fucked: so they played the inverse card and copied the tactics used against them. Learn Irony, ffs. Of course, it got polluted later on, but never think this is a static revolution.
Can't say I'm a big lover of rap...I'm not...but a plus one on your last paragraph.
Nor am I. I do know the why's of it though. Remember: It's not the Event nor the Actors, it's the IMPACT.
Too many fools here thinking the Actors matter.
;-)
You're a fast poster-typer...
"For the rest: Fuck them. This was why Rap Music got perverted: too much truth to power and hope for the Black community. For all you hopeless rascists, they got fucked since MLK. They're on your side, you muppets, and got fucked over so badly it's not even funny. They were fighting this fight before you even knew it existed."
How do you do that after I lock you down with a comment?
QM weapons. Organic weaponry breaking the code.
I did tell you. You think I lie?
Yes you did...lol.
Now I'll hit save and see what you added ;-)
It's not a Messiah thing.
Pretty sure most of you can do it, when taught. (Well, about 28.3%, which is good enough). And I'm not so twee I'd fuck with your head like that more than once.
Remember: genetics is the key.
"And I'm not so twee I'd fuck with your head like that more than once."
I'd advise against it, it can be turned against you ;-)
Unlike Congress, I respect my opponents.
I don't know if we're opponents but I get your drift.
"Organic weaponry breaking the code." AND "You think I lie?"
Blessed (or cursed, I suppose) with a short term photographic memory...was this a test of me?
Do a GREP, look for a SF fanfiction post. Then re-read it. Hidden in plain sight is the motto, I think? And, well. Life is a test; where you test it is entirely up to the ability to see.
Don't let it go to your head or fuck you up. Shit happens, live life to the utmost of your abilities, and watch for the Ideology Peddlers. Keep that Eye Open.
I'll assume I passed and I've always had both eyes open.
you can observe a lot just by watching
+100 for linking to NWA!
i grew up listening to dr. dre, ice cube, snoop dawg, and eazy e.
after 2pac and biggie died, the rap scene was no longer the same.
i've been listening to rock, metal, electronic, classical ever since.
And the middle. And the bottom. 100%
Geez, I hope so.
Hilarious, now we know how every military dictatorship starts. Because its an improvement?!?!?!
Sure they are. Guys like General Keith Alexander, the head of the NSA. I bet he's totally pissed about the U.S. spying on U.S. citizens and using taxpayer-funded snooping information to bribe private companies for their data.
The military 'dudes at the top' are either already in on it or flat out stupid. The only thing we know for sure is that they will kill U.S. citizens if ordered to do so by the president.
Don't look for any coup by the butt-kissing military leaders to protect constitutional rights. They can't wait for the day they can stomp on your face.
Exactly. I bet the Obama Administration is keeping a close eye on the Colonels, though.
I promise you that a General in the US military is not stupid so I guess we'll have to go with the other option.
Anybody but me notice how many (lots and lots, gobs and gobs, oodles and oodles) of flag officers been retired and discharged over the last 6 to 12 months?
Ya say ya wanna revolution, well ya know...
Personally, I think a lot of this goes back to Benghazi...people like to think someones got their back when their ass has been ordered onto the line.
Taking the bolts (not just frisking "trusted elite troops" for ammo) out of rifles carried by the Honor Guard, in the inaugural parade was huge.
Some didn't notice...I did ;-)
Not to mention Marines IN A COMBAT ZONE ordered to disarm before Leon Panetta's visit, shortly after he told Congress who really calls the shots on Military Operations..much to the Shock and Awe of Congressman Jeff Sessions:

Industrial + Military + Government + Banking Complex. Fucked over from all power players. This will be a massive struggle. It's Red Team+Blue Team V lil' ole` you.
Yeah, they're talking about it alright. Over Brandy and Cuban cigars. Some good trading info in all that data. Of that, you can be certain.
I junked you and the guy above you for believing in Santa.
I know it's a very very very very very long shot, borderline impossible... but eh, a guy can dream ??
I genuinely don't think its a long shot. I don't think the guys at the top are stupid, i think they know there is something terribly wrong with the way things are. I read somewhere that 80% of the military supported ron paul in 2012. I do think however we will see a military coup sometime in the near future. This will coincide with a natural return to a gold standard and a collapse of the currency. I think.
No. Sorry.
I just really hope these "dudes at that top" you speak of aren't nazi Zionists.
The military hierarchy, not the corporate one.
The "Dudes at the top" didn't get to flag rank by being bold, independent thinkers. You don't get a star on your epaulet without being a "yes" man, a genius at political infighting, and major skills in working a public bureaucracy for personal gain. These guys have all the moral principles of your typical rattlesnake. They will NOT be leading a revolution.
There is a reason that most coups are led by Colonels.
My guess is, if anyone in the military is going to take action against this thoroughly corrupt and decrepit white house, congress, and supreme court, it will be the Special Forces. And if I'm smart enough to figure that out, as sure as Joe Biden fucks 6-year old boys, the White House has figured it out too.
Why do you think they assassinated a good chunk of Seal Team 6?
And Chris Kyle....
Justice and rule of law, that is what any government will be judged on.
Olde Grudge: Greenbeanies circa Vieetnahm were told to trim the bow off the back of the beret.... was taken as an "attack" on their progenitor, JFK.
Believe it or not.
Well said Buck.
It would have to be a colonel..., or a corporal.
and a small one at that....
They 'wiped' Team 6 to wipe the trail of evidence: That the guy they got was smuggled out and is living the good life back home.
He was a 2x guy, living a lie, deep, deep underciver for the MIC.
Way too many idiots around here. Revolution? In the US? Seriously, how dumb can you be? When other countries fight with their lives to save a park, the Americans keep watching their dr House, NCSI, Kardashians and other similarly enlightning shows. A revolution is not something you wait for. If you are really fed up with something, you go on the streets and adjust things. Revolution? Special forces? I am surely younger than most of you here, but your naïveté is astonishing.
"You know the dudes at the top are talking about it. Of that you can be certain."
Talk means nothing and soon they'll be (way) outnumbered by DHS "forces".
O said he'd build up that domestic security force. Heck, they already got a billion HP rounds.
Sorry, military waited too long (just like idiot "patriots").
I believe O's 2nd term will finish eliminating constituion (defacto if not dejure) and put finishing touches on this rapidly emerging police state (worse than soviet union in some ways).
By 2017 when O leaves office nobody will even think about "revolt" anymore ...except Darwin award candidates maybe :)
Bush started it, O will finish it, whoever comes next will simply run it.
that's too defeatist for me
Nobody fucking cares what you think it is.
"You're with us or the 'terrorists'."
Pick your side.
And no, there is no 3rd "take America back" option anymore. Only fools (Darwin award candidates) believe there is.
well in that fucking case nobody cares what the fuck you think it is either, asshole.
Granted, might be an asshole, but I'll be proven right :)
"[W]hen O leaves office nobody will even think about "revolt" anymore... Bush started it, O will finish it, whoever comes next will simply run it." -- fuckitall
I think we can put a kink in those plans... with a little luck and good timing.
-1. Coup? You've got to be kidding. The military isn't going to do squat along those lines. Nor should they: the American people voted for this, they chose this. The military is going to let them live with the consequences of that choice.
dont worry, the turkish are coming...
I don't know the number, but the Marxist purge of high ranking officers has been going on for 4 1/2 years you can bet on it. You can't have a Marxist overthrow of a country from within without doing it.
Actually you can. They just never do because their particular views on political economy and politics make them some seriously paranoid motherfuckers ... rightly so, because the societies they create are seriously dangerous and fucked up.
You dont get a star without being connected....
What is the military waiting for to overthrow these treasonous cunts?
Maybe that's the real reason they're going to be perpetually deployed.
Hey asshole...no one is asking for 100% security you tuckfard.
Oh, I don't know. A lot of women are.
your junker should watch this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BIXsyfDL4Bw
I liked that, his delivery was a bit off, but was still on the mark topic wise.
It's sort of like how women gravitate to arrogance and personal aggrandisement, not realizing that a sensible confident person doesn't need to project such false images.
It leads to horrible outcomes however. As those who willingly project themselves in such a manner often harbor deep resentment for actual talent, or the free expression thereof.
Bell curve gone to hell, i want the constitution back.
And just to reiterate, fuck torture, fraud, Theft, and slavery.
Hey, all those booze bottles are empty.
and WTF is up with the Panda Plush (INSDIDE) the glass case?
and the lapel pin.
Good analysis.
Women want structured secure environment bottom line. If a corp provides it and a guy doesn't, she'll keep the corp ahead of the guy, maybe get rid of the guy.
Love, intimacy, children, family, all sacrificed for her corp "boyfriend". That's how strong her need for structure and security is.
But it's not entirely her fault. Maybe she can't find a man structured and secure like her corp "boyfriend". Nope, great at video games doesn't impess her. Shitty go-nowhere career doesn't impress he even if it pays well. Other signs of drifting thru life / no goals / no drive / no determination frighten her away from him and toward her corp "boyfriend" displaying none of those negative signs. She's not looking for achievement per se. Achivement means security in her mind.
Yep, guys have to compete with a corporation now for a woman's attention and loyalty. Wasn't that way 50 - 60 yrs ago. Back then a guy WAS the corp and security and all that.
This is the average woman. There are extremes on both ends of the spectrum.
adds a new dimension to the hell that is in front of us. team womens war on men has a corporate sponsor
The majority of Americans want every flavor of near absolute security they can get -- that would be the problem.
Econcomic security (welfare, health care, Social Security (soon to be welfare for the elderly), loan subsidies, loan forgiveness, etc) and physical security. Look at the many billions we spend (in time and money) just to make sure another airplane does not go down -- absurd cost / benefit (and I fly a lot).
Please give us back our liberties and let us take the risks with no expectation of taxpayer bailout.
They're trying to train us to plead for 100% security. You should have witnessed the massive fear-mongering put out by the media here on the east coast over a thunderstorm that rolled through yesterday. Climate. Thunderstorms. Hurricanes. CO2. Guns. Terrsts. Mosquitoes. Ticks. Snowy roads. Aggressive drivers. Bullies. Healthcare costs. Fires out west. Ohhh, dear Gubmint, how can we surivive without your benevolence and help....
... better!
We are reaching a tipping point in this country whereby people are beginning to realize all of the government is against freedom and its citizens.
And said people will have to quickly decide between personal responsibility vs. false security. Oh, sorry, this is 21st Century America here, I forgot -- that decision has already been made....
I disagree. I don't think we're close to a tipping point. To be close presumes the people are informed of what's going on, yet easily 50% of Americans probably could not name the current Vice President. It's a nation of stupid sheep.
So I don't think people will be forced into a choice, rather I think they'll get up one morning and not have any funds, bank cards dead, credit cards frozen. Until that time, the idiot masses will continue to follow STUPID shit. Eg, Paris Hilton's new movie review over on Yahoo has 20 times the number of visitors than this thread.
Shows you where peoples' heads are at. And no, I didn't click on it to check it out.
Have you ever watched Jay Leno's man-on-the-street interviews? Enough said. +1
Paris Hilton does movie reviews? The only experience she has is in a bad porno.
No. She's in a new movie and some other skank did a review on it.
"I want the truth!"
And to be left alone in my Pursuit of Happiness, and Happiness of Pursuit.
I like comparing Obamas quote about "moderate encroachment" to one James Madison made:

Its amazing how these guys get virtuous when they have no political skin in the game.
Fredo Corleone is no match for Michael, but he thinks he is.
Sounds like he must be really worried about some things that he Emailed/browsed/said over the phone in the past few years.
Gore, once again, the hypocrite. Anybody remember this douchebags crusade against "dirty" rock music? Gore was on a rampage of censorship, harrassing music lables, threatening musicians, having public with hunts on capital hill, spying on what kids listen too, blackmailing radio stations, etc...
Yeah, I remember!
He and his stupid bitch if a wife - TIPPER GORE!
I listened to:
Slayer
Megadeath
Black Flag
Tupac
And the list goes on...everything that these people are against (liberty, freedom, common sense) I am for.
I am sure that Pat Boone is a good guy and has relevant ideas in regards to music and life's choices. But....the dude IS NOT MY FIRST LISTENING CHOICE. however with those douches (Gores) that style of musicwould be THE ONLY CHOICE that would be available in the market.
And that is what these statist, NIMBY types are all about. Think like them or else!
Dave Mustain said it best...."Fuck you Tipper"!
No thanks. Slick Willie already did.
At least Pat Boone was smart enough to write his Love Letters in the Sand. Done before satellites, there is no way they could be stored on some NSA computer. The tide washed them away.
That is so fucking romantic!
Did'nt the dude from Skidrow do that too ?
jello vs tipper

"I'm relevant, dammit!"
'Republicrats' are such fucking hypocrites.
Nailed it again Tylers...you guys deserve whatever is going to replace a Congressional medal for services to knowledge and enlightenment.
Free one year access around New York Times paywall.
People on the usual sites online do the apologist retort of "well I have nothing to hide so I don't care...." I state back to them that they should have no problem allowing the state to keep a camera in their home in all rooms because, you know, they got nothing to hide.
Lets be clear: in a country with thousands of contradictory laws, everyone is a criminal.
Truth! We're all criminals. The NSA needs MOAR data.
IridiumRebel don't waste your time. You're far too intelligent, for such distractions.
I'm pretty sure not a single American - even if they're a lawyer or judge, and work in legal profession - knows all the laws and regulations s/he is subject too... so how couldn't anyone know whether they're breaking some law or not?
Look at CAPEX for the major Indices. The United States of litigation. (LOng TORT reform)
Corps. >Don't keep money off-shore just for tax reasons. ( The United States of O'bunga) taxes everything, and the kitchen sink!
I saw today that ObamaCare is currently sitting at about 40,000 pages of regulations and headed to 100k at full implementation.........
"Cluster Fucked " for 100 Alex.
And those are the same people are going to be crying like little girls the day the rules change on a government whim and they DO have something to hide.
The fourth amendment isn't about hiding illegal activity. It's about making sure the government doesn't pass laws creating its own authority to be Orwellian today or ever because you may not like the Orwellian government next year, and it will be too god damn late to do anything about it then.
THAT is what pushed Snowden over the edge. He realized how close the government was to giving themselves irrevocable powers to violate the fourth amendment before citizens noticed and could stop it. We're forced to rely on dim-witted Congress and the NSA-friendly Justice Department to be our constitutional watchdogs, and they will sell us out at the drop of a hat.
We're pretty screwed.
Hah!
Watch em' scream when a Republican gets in office!
Can you imagine if W was the prez right now, the screaming, pissing and moaning!
But if course!
When a 'liberal' tramples on your rights, he's doing it for your own good.
when a "conservative" did it, all waved flags and SCREAMED USA! USA! USA!
What a show.
Probably most of the people with a new 'smart' TV are unaware that they're already vulnerable. Ditto anyone with a webcam/microphone equipped computer, whenever it's powered up and connected to the internet. And then there are those nifty game consoles that can watch your motions. Anyone buying one of the new XBox One consoles is begging to be surveiled.
This all reminds me of the movie Enemy of the State.
+1
I have a cam/mic combo on my desktop -- un-plugged from the USB port.
"You can't have 100% security and 100% privacy".
Fine. I choose 100% privacy. End of discussion.

If only it were that simple. Great post.
Obama looks like a clown caught with his clown pants falling down. A sad silly clown....
A sad, silly DANGEROUS clown, perhaps.
Boy, When you have to have Mr. CFR saying Congress should investigate, It is getting really really rich now....
If you government assaholic parasites happen to think you're on to a bad guy, GET A FUCKING WARRENT, just like your assaholic parasitic daddy did.
Warrants are so second millenium. Get used to it.
