Russian MP Accuses U.S. Of Fabricating Syrian Chemical Weapons Report

Tyler Durden's picture

Following yesterday's "news" that the US is rerunning the Iraq invasion script has been busy collecting made up solid evidence proving the Syrian government has used chemical weapons, which it would use as a basis for yet another foreign intervention including a no-fly zone and arming the Syrian rebels (just to accelerate the passage of a Qatari natgas pipeline into Europe, bypassing Gazprom, and installing another puppet Muslim Brotherhood government in the Mid-East), the entire world waited with bated breath to learn what Russia's response, and remember to Russia Syria is a key geopolitical outpost and critical national interest, to US allegations would be.

The wait was short-lived. As Novosti reports at least someone, somewhere has had the guts to call out this farce of an intervention from an official standpoint:  "A US government report concluding Syria has used chemical weapons against rebels, crossing what US President Barack Obama has previously described as a “red line,” is a fabrication, a senior Russian lawmaker said Friday. "Information about the usage of chemical weapons by Assad is fabricated in the same way as the lie about Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.” Alexei Pushkov, head of the Russian lower house of parliament’s international affairs committee, said on Twitter.

The truth-telling continues:

President Obama “is going the same way” as former President George W. Bush did then, Pushkov said.

Pushkov is known for also being quite a truth-teller in the past. From June of 2012:

I think that what we had been hearing from the US is very partial. Somehow the US thinks that the only source of civil war in Syria is the government, which is not the case. There are 33 thousand people who are fighting the Syrian government, and they’re fighting the Syrian government with heavy weapons, not just Kalashnikovs and pistols. It’s heavy machine guns, it’s anti-tank guns and all of this armament was on display when a ship coming from Libya full of US weapons was arrested in Lebanon. On the photos you can see what kind of armament was sent to the insurgents. It’s Syrian force which has been trained outside of Syria. Some of them are really professional fighters. There’s some information about people who have been fighting in Libya, now are fighting on the side of the insurgents. I think that the US had better look at what kind of people they try to support there and what these people will bring to Damascus. Until now Syria was a secular country where different ethnicities and different religious factions were living in peace and for many years, - that’s very valuable. You have Christians, Sunnis, Alawis, Druze, Kurds and quite a few other groups. And if all of this explodes, I don’t think that we’ll have 10 thousand victims, we’ll have maybe 100 thousand victims. Russia wants to prevent this explosion. What we hear from our Western partners is that Assad should go and they are willing to support the insurgency. But supporting the insurgency, they are basically throwing oil into the flame. That is why Russia suggested having international conference where we can try to find the solution that would be proposed to both sides in the Syrian conflict. The key Russian position is that we are ready to influence Assad’s government, but the West should influence the insurgents. Otherwise it will not work out.

Do you think that the Western media was unfairly portraying Russia?

I think one of the reasons the West has been so critical about Russia in the Syrian issue is that the West doesn’t have the policy at all towards Syria. I’m not pretending that Russia has the answers, but Russia fulfills a very important role for the Western media. By this could not criticize their own governments for not having any kind of solutions. Because the only political program the West has is that Assad should go. OK, what happens after Assad goes? How the regime falls? Who will come in its place?

Is Russia prepared for that situation?

Russia is ready to look for answers together with Western countries. And we don’t accept this kind of criticism. And we don’t accept this kind of mythology that insurgents are poor foreign people. Because we know very well that they have been financed and armed by monarchies of the Persian Gulf. They don’t even hide this fact and I hardly see a situation where democracy in Syria will be established with the help of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

And finally there have been some accusation that Russian foreign policy towards Syria is driven by its business interests. How do you respond to that?

I think that the most important thing is not business. Syria doesn’t play such a huge role in Russian foreign trade. The key factor in the Russian position is a very clear stand against the so-called regime change, against the so-called humanitarian intervention. We think that the Libyan example showed that these kinds of interventions lead to chaos and to the creation of a parallel international law: when you have a UN charter and at the same time you have some kind of parallel law which is being conducted by either friends of Syria or the Coalition of the Willing, something which goes around the UN rules or charters. We don’t want to accept a world where there would be another international law instead of internationally accepted one. Syria is just a very serious example of the Russian desire to fight for international law which is universally accepted.

Ah, the new normal: when Russia is telling the truth, and the USSA is openly lying.

Things will get more interesting when instead of using a proxy to tell the world how he feels, Putin actually takes the microphone in one of his signature brutally candid exposes. Also being former KGB, who knows just what revelations he may bring to the table regarding claims of prior "humanitarian" US interventions around the world, liberating so much crude oil from the heathen natives.

Things will get most interesting when the Russian armada currently stationed in Cyprus and swimming around in the Mediterranean, decides to park in the Russian naval base in Tartus. Because last we checked it was a no-fly zone, not a no-sail zone...

Time for a refresher course for newcomers.

The Muslim Brotherhood existed during WW2. They were allies of NAZI Germany.

After WW2, MI6 took over the MB intel network, eventually sharing/turning it over to the CIA.

Out of the MB and the teachings of guys like Al-Zawahiri, guys like Osama bin Laden took up the Cause.

Zawahiri and bin Laden were/are and always have been assets of the CIA/MI6.

"Al Qaeda," or "The Base" of intel and operatives assembled in part by Shiek bin Laden have always been CIA/MI6 assets.

AQ is a most useful tool of the deep government (like GLADIO), to be used to achieve objectives in the interest of "TPTB" and are diametrically opposed to the actual interests of Free Peoples Everywhere.

Apologies to those already in the know, so to speak.

**********

The primary reason to keep that guy Ben Ghazi out of the news is  that common awareness by Citizens that their 'government' was supplying assorted weaponry to the MB/AQ would create a problem since AQ also 'took down' the WTC on 9/11. Such knowledge becoming a common awareness would remove all authority of the current Regime, who are also planning to crush what's left of Feedomz via the New Army (DHS).

Carry on.

Not gonna happen.  DHS is largely made up of people like Deerhunter's family (see post above). So is the military.  If anything, it will be the other way around.  DHS and the military will crush the Fascist Nazis in D.C. and Wall Street before they crush ordinary people who are their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, and relatives who are all hurting as a result of the Fascist Nazis in D.C. and Wall Street.

I have a son-in-law and a nephew in the US military.  Both have seen Iraq and Afghanistan.  Both have seen things most here have been spared.  Both went because it is what they signed up for.  Both have returned and asked why???  When we hand out candy to children of the men trying to kill us have we lost the art of war??? When we spend ten years and gallons of American blood with no end game in sight have we lost any focus.  Was there any focus to begin with???  I am all for red, white and blue when it stands for what we average Americans stand for.  We are beginning to see it all unravel.  The enemy is within.  We are not sheep,  we are men.  For twenty years we have been trying to turn our boys and young men in our schools into girls with ritalin when they won't sit still in class.  When they would rather look out the windows of the classroom or punch their buddy in class.  When they play cowboys and indians in the playground.  Are there any men left in our country???  Would any men in here stand by while 3 crazy men behead a soldier in broad daylight?   You can only die physically once.  Our country has been dying by degree for 30 years.  I have family in the military.  They do not need to die in some God forsaken desert in Syria,  not today,  not tomorrow,  not ever.  They are a husband to my youngest daughter and a son of my younger sister.  We have met the enemy and it is us.  We need to keep our mouths shut no longer.

Your relatives were all duped by the jew supremacists:

1) they got the US into WWI in a deal that Britain would turn over Palestine to them and they would use their control over Woodrow Wilson and the media to get the US into the war on Britain's side-even as Germany was proposing peace and a return to the pre WWI borders.

2) Then they got the into WWII by provoking and duping Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor.

Nearly all 'democratic' elections are a sham (with both 'contestants' pre-selected by Bilderberg, or other power brokers funded by global zionist banksters). Syria is no different. Using your terminology, JFK was an 'elected' leader ... and Shrub was an 'elected' leader. So what?

However, Syria is a secular muslim state which banned the face veil for women in universities in 2010 and the government has majority support among the people ... which is why it now faces an [unpopular] Al-CIAduh [Muslim Brotherhood] funded uprising, carried out by terrorists imported from Benghazi, rather than an oppressed popular opposition.

Your original post contained a false dichotomy, which is what prompted me to respond to your second post.

There is some 'good' news. This no fly zone appears to be something to placate the masses via a grand statement. While the no fly zone in Iraq was over a huge swath of the country at first, with US and allied planes flying in the country, this one will only be enforced by keeping US planes within jordan and extending 25 miles into Syria territory.

I am assuming the 25 miles is the normal engagement of most of these fighters.

While this is a big increase in the support of the rebels, it does show that the US is not able to commit to actually entering Syrian airspace at this time.

Obviously, lots of action is taking place behind closed doors. Maybe Russia and China have their own RED LINE which the US is not willing to cross.......yet.

My wife grew up in the Soviet Union.  She tells stories and has pictures of being a "pioneer", as was the term via loose translation, when she was a youth.  In school, the children were taught all about guns.  Mrs M even had a course on hand to hand combat, weapons and how to throw hand grenades.  In that class, she was instructed that in the event of a nuclear attack by the U.S. on the SU that the proper reaction would be to, and I quote, "crawl towards the nearest cemetery and die atop of your Kalashnikov".  This meaning the AK was more important than the life of the person carrying it.  Mrs M was 11 years old when the SU collapsed but had already received such instruction as was mandatory at the time.

When Mrs. M first arrived in the U.S., one of the first things I did was introduce her to my Springfield Armory collection.  I gave her a 1911A1 45ACP and she proceeded to hit every target even though she had never shot one before.  Later, we met a young Belorussian girl who was over on a summer work visa.  I presented the 1911A1 to her to try and she WAS ABLE TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING!  What The Fuck?  These are their women!

Maybe instead of the M1A, I will bring the AK-47 with us today to WI and have Mrs. M rattle off a few mags of 7.62x39 just to keep her up on her target practice skills.(mine too)  Fuck you NSA, Obusha, McCainiac and the rest of you MIC fucks.  Do NOT fuck with those people and especially near their own turf.  Very few people earn my respect but fucking with the Russians is a really piss poor idea.  They will rip your fucking throat and piss down your neck and that includes Navy SEALS.

None of this even includes how the Red Mafia works.  Do you see Italian mafia in Russia?  Fucking figure it out.  That gun is loaded.

I can go along with that on the SEALS.  I have no problem with the SEALS except for the fact that they are often used as a political tool anymore.  Then again, that is not the SEALS fault.  So yes, we can call it even and I will +1 for it if you can put the nationalism aside and read again what I really was saying which is no more fucking war.  Fair enough?

Agreed. 100%. Dead-on.  If I sounded 'nationalistic', in a blind sense, I didn't mean to.  I'm driven by the idea of individual liberty for people under all flags.  I'm in/from a military family with several purple hearts and the last thing any of us wants is war.  We need to back off and stay out militarily.  We need to pull back and close most of our bases on foreign land.  Especially now since we can no longer even remotely call ourselves "Defenders of Liberty" with the recent NSA-PRISM-gate STASI revelations. Its yet another big embarassment, and depressing. The zenith for America was post-WW2. Ever since then we have slowly and steadily morphed into what we were fighting against in WW2. Very saddening and dispiriting.  And soul-crushing  to those in our military who love this country the way it was back in the days when we were "Defenders of Liberty".  Today our military is used as pawns to advance the cause of the Fascist Nazi D.C. Regime.  Everyone I know in the military who is aware absolutey hates that.

I know that I did for the first 48 years of my life. I was completely unknowingly indoctrinated also by the MSM and our suck-ass education system.  I'm not ashamed to admit that.  I knew all along that something was wrong but couldn't pin it down, kept searching for answers, but still going along with the myth with reservations.  Thanks to Tyler & the Zero Hedge posters, and other alternative news sources, the fog has been lifted from my head.

Lord Blankfein says Americans have a shitty attitude...

The chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs blames the lagging U.S. economy on Americans' negativity, which he has partly attributed to Congress and the media.

'[The] economy is not a science, it's a social science,' Lloyd Blankfein told Politico  reporter Ben Smith in a live-streamed interview Thursday.

'[The] culture of America has gotten too negative,' he added.

It's simple 'Economics 101' that when people are feeling gloomy about the state of the economy, they hold back on investing, buying and hiring.

But Blankfein says Americans are gloomier than they should be - that the economy is picking up even if financial markets have yet to fully recognize the improvements.

'I'm optimistic, but I will say there's a moment where sentiment is more negative than the facts command. And sentiment matters,' he said.

'It’s a very low risk of the U.S. slinking back into recession, but it’s not zero,' he added.

'There are worries on the horizon but a lot less than there were before.'

The malaise would be helped by 'less negative reporting,' he said. But Congress is the main culprit for Americans' attitude problem.

whilst I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that somebody with real mussel is pushing back against NATO and these elitist parasites that infest DC (it must be shocking for them to realize that this is not a burger king world after all) I'm not so sure I buy the whole benevolent Russia bit either.

more likely this is about Tartus and Russia's strategic interests as Putin knows to lose Assad to western backed militants means there is a very high chance he will loose the base once the new puppet, proxy western govt is installed. I think he takes this very seriously as it would greatly inhibit Russia's ability to project naval power in the region and impair it's ability to respond or deter future acts of aggression by NATO or Israel.  thus stability in Syria becomes a national interest for Russia of very high importance.

I think that message has been conveyed very clearly from Moscow to Washington, any type of direct US or NATO involvement, no fly zone or otherwise, is a red line for the east and runs a very high risk of drawing a direct and very much un-proxy response from the large amount of fire power Russia currently has floating in the med.

I think that is the only reason we haven't seen Libya 2.0 yet in Syria.

but now the west is backed into a corner as their "revolutionaries" (note: terrorists every where else in the world) are in danger of loosing the last significant piece of real estate they hold and if help doesn't come, they will be pushed out of Aleppo in a matter of months. this would effectively banish them to the very much open country side where the Syrian armed forces could could chew them up with air strikes, armor and artillery at their leisure. victory at Aleppo means there is no way to force Assad from power without direct intervention from the west.

hence the renewed Bush WMD doctrine 2013 edt. a last ditch effort to manufacture some moral high ground for DC to salvage it's revolution in Syria which is failing, has failed spectacularly.

and if that doesn't work it I don't believe the PTB's would give a second thought to spending 2 million or 10 million American lives to further their agenda. hell they wouldn't even blink.

draft notices and rad badges for x mass this year bitches...

Putin offered Bush the Machievellian bargain, Iran in exchange for removing the (new) NATO missiles aimed at Moscow in Eastern Europe. Russia gave Iran the weapons, but they would gladly hand over the ECM keys to those weapons for a price. Bush demurred. (Maybe Cheney said no) Now Obama has backed off their position, somewhat. Obama is a community organizer, not a global chess player. He didn't study game theory at an Ivy League school with Kerry Bush and Gore.

He doesn't have even a 1000 American lives to sacrifice. The American public is pro-war, and anti-casualties, the democratic reality in effect since Vietnam, when Gen Westmoreland had to drop all search and destroy missions after 1970, and the bloody losses at Hamburger Hill. There is no way American airpower can really do much with fighting in such close quarters. A no fly zone is possible, but it will only extend the civil war on the ground. This is not Libya, and the Soviets will arm the regime against air attacks.

The invasion of Iraq cancelled the existing energy contracts between the Russians and French, among others, (we stole Iraqs oil breaking existing foreign contracts). And whatever the Russians do, at the UN, China is likely to follow, and that will not help Bernanke and wall streets favorite hot money baby. as much as we need a stable Japan, we need a reliable ties with China, which incidentally has been more provocative militarily than the Russians over the last decade.

can Obama organize the world community to effect regime change in Syria. hell the man couldn't fix Chicago. but he is capable of changing tact in the middle of the event, so if things get ugly, he'll probably quit, which will give the GOP new reason to hate him. sigh

I say we take all the politicial folk currently in Washington and draft thier kids in the infantry and make them the first boots on the ground.    Bet the war talk would vanish in a New York minute.    Better yet, form the 1st Washington Infantry Division comprised of current congresspersons and lobbyists as the elite strike force to be the first wave airborne assault on Damascus.

Amazing what these folks do when it's not their money or their kids or their own precious hide.

what puzzles most is Israel. do they really want an unstable government with al qaida cells, and plenty of loose weaponry from the fallen regime falling into their hands? if Israel is committed to self defense, they should be backing Assad. sure they don't like Syrias proxy role with Hezbollah in Lebanon, but reducing sovereigns to violent radical ghetto politics is not in their interest. destroying every national Islamic government in the ME is their siren song, once the borders disappear, the tribal relationships became to solidify, and then like all previous colonial attempts to create hegemony across the region, they fail. the tribal organization is a shifting target, well suited to guerilla warfare. Israel is being short sighted if they think overthrowing Assad works in their interest.

Mr Pushkov's critique is fair, balanced and accurate in all respects.

Menace McCain ought to be arrested immediately for consorting with known terrorists, and emboldening them, with his recent visit to Syria. Like the Clintons and O'bomba, he takes his marching orders from the Trilateral Commission of nazionists whose despotic helpers led by Saudi Arabia want to confuse and conquer all.

'...You have Christians, Sunnis, Alawis, Druze, Kurds and quite a few other groups. And if all of this explodes, I don’t think that we’ll have 10 thousand victims, we’ll have maybe 100 thousand victims...',  explains Mr Pushkov.

The secular, relatively prosperous society of Syria offended the vicious neofeudalists of the Trilateral Commission, and their nazionist agenda, aided by the House of Saud and other monarchies like the British and European households who enthusiastically supported Hitler - until he failed, and Operation Paperclip was used to bring leading nazionists into the USA to continue the Final Solution...now continuing in the ME, and a neighborhood near you...
