I used to despise all the leftist S. American presidents including Rafael Correa prez of Ecuador. Remember this one:
Correa after Chavez''s still smells like sulpher and the devil speech after Bush spoke at the UN said that "calling George Bush the devil was an "insult to the devil because although he's malicious, [at least] he's intelligent."
Been to Ecuador and loved it and if not where I am now would go there in a heartbeat. And now over time (and getting smarter with ZH) I really am starting to think these leftist presidents are not so bad after all.
Ecuador is much better choice than Venny. Correa will take care of this dude and has the balls to stick up to the US. And he was democraticaly elected and reelected and people are better off there than before he was elected. Assange has been Ok for a year too although cramped as hell but better of than at military prison.
And remember also Correa earned a doctorate in Econ at U of Illinois.
It remains to be seen. But there are plenty examples of people on the Left and Right coming together to challenge corrupt, excessive government or criminal banksters etc. The London riots of summer 2011, the Occupy Wall Street group and now the Snowden exposures all fall into this category.
But none of that should be taken as an underlying commonality of purpose or objectives, in plain sight or hidden. In the case of the London riots, many people involved were fighting against (trivial) govt spending cuts on their welfare. Standard Lefty action. The OWS people claim to want a different financial system; one OWS leader I saw interviewed described it as a more socialist system. IOW, these people essentially want more government, not less. That's where they usually differ significantly from people on the Right, even though they may both want to get rid of the current system.
The situation with Snowden and Ecuador probably falls into this category too. Whereas Correa in Ecuador is very happy to show a finger to the crony Obama govt by considering asylum for Snowden, it does not automatically mean that Correa is a believer in all those nice things that people on the Right support. Snowden may not enjoy full freedom of movement, association and expression that he might wish. After all, Latin America is overwhelming a socialist region. And that invariably means big government, collectivism and lots of laws & regulations to control people. We'll have to wait and see.
It would be great if the Ecuadorian's could sneak Assange out of the U.K. in a "Mission Impossible" style way.
Have him grow a mustache, die it and his hair black, brown his skin - give him a fake Passport as part of a security detail heading back home to see his sick Mother.
p.s. - Thank you Hong Kong for thumbing your nose at our Constitution stompers!
This huge psy-op was started by anglo-american globalist network against Obama to push him into syria. Meanwhile adopted and turned by china/russia as this was originally planned to intimidate them diplomatically. Third player i guess is secret american patriot network. Their speaker is M. Dempsey JCOS.
Tarpley has very good info again, see his tarpley.net
absurd:
Edward Snowden has had his U.S. passport revoked.
A U.S. official on Sunday said Edward Snowden’s passport was annulled before he left Hong Kong for Russia.

Snowden reminds me of B. Manning. He swore an oath to the fascist cocksuckers then stabbed them in the back. They both deserve whatever happens to them. Patriotic? I think not. A true patriot would have never agreed to work for those maggots in the first place.
Buzz, gotta leave room for the sheep to wake up.
A Polite Reply. What she really means is you're a cantankerous old fuck.
Their oath is to defend the Constitution, not to those who willfully and openly violate it.
They swore to protect the Constitution from both foreign and domestic enemies and if the domestic enemies are using the veil of government secrecy to cover-up their actions, then who else is going to defend the Constitution but those who swore the oath? What's the point of the oath if nobody ever takes it seriously?

I told the folks I am hanging with, nice folks. And the answer was: Snowden who? .....
Ecuador has many beautiful young ladies that hold onto their virginity until they get married.
really?
Having lived in Ecuador, I do NOT recommend it as a place for refuge, much less permanent residency. Rafael Correa is a Hugo Chavez clone that has no respect for individual human rights, much less property rights. His chief driver is animosity to the United States, NOT privacy rights or protection against government intrusion. If he could, he would use the very PRISM and eaves-dropping powers that the NSA is using to spy on Americans, to spy on his own political opponents. Snowden would be very foolish to seek asylum there.
I have a feeling that you're not too far from the truth. But only time will tell.
If Snowden gets to Ecuador, he may find his freedoms of movement and expression are not quite as free as he wants. And in any case, he'll need to be looking over his shoulder all the time; US govt hit squads have a long reach.
What ive noticed is that when it comes to focussing on the narrative of these stories, you can assume that there is only a slice of truth in whatever dish the american government is trying to serve. It makes you wonder how many other viewpoints and perspectives on the same events you have dismissed prior to now because you saw it coming from an alternative viewpoint that you dont subscribe to. I.e, maybe putin isnt 100% wrong about syria.
America lied about iraq, now deals with taliban, etc etc.
maybe putin isnt 100% wrong about syria.
you are wrong fella. you are a terrorist you probably have a beard you are an evil thinker and do er the bushn family only wants the best for us rothschilds are not in the top 1000 richest people. men from iraq, syria, libya and iran did 9 11. the usaf did not stand down putin must be destroyed cos he is evil america is beauty full brown people hate us for are free domes. get in line or ship out to cyberia with snow blowlook buddy, i dont hate americans. i hate the cleptocratic oligarchy that runs your country.
america used to mean something to the world. now all it stands for is hypocrisy and double standards.
which is such a pity because the average joe six pack is a decent guy.
Keeping potential asylum doors open and keeping up misdirection. He can probably hopscotch and have real protection if Russia is onboard.
Wonder what other stuff he knows about these other countries and their leaders and doings...wonder how that is playing out in the chess game we don't see (ie individual negotiations).
You see, the biggest single story, the biggest single threat in the world today is Syria. By “Syria,” we mean the nexus between Israel and Turkey, Israel and Britain, Israel and France, Israel and Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar, Israel and Jordan, Israel and Lebanon, Israel and Kurdistan and, more importantly, Israel and its propaganda war against the United States.
Not one cable or intercept, Wikileaks or Snowden, has covered the endless volumes of traffic that has to reveal how, built around Israel’s “web,” the West is now arming the same terrorist groups it claims were responsible for 9/11 and, with absolute certainty, the enemy who killed thousands of Americans in Iraq.
So, what has Wikileaks done to “out” the criminal conspiracy against Assad, to “out” the endless backchannel traffic that ties Israel, Al Qaeda to Britain, to France and certainly to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar?
Nothing?

say what...
Good luck Eddy. I hope you make it to Ecuador. If you do, head over to Canoa the most beautiful and unspoiled beach town in the world. Next time I get down there, it would be my honor to buy the country's biggest hero a drink.
Edwardo. Me casa is your casa.

Oh... lest I forget-- God Bless You, and Be With You... Eric Snowden and Julian Assange ;->
There was a very funny cartoon on the SCMP Op-Ed page. An Areoflot hostess addressing Mr Snowden, Caption:
'Welcome to Aeroflot. If you need anything, just whistle... You know how to whistle, Don't you Ed?'
