Wikileaks Reveals It Is Working With Snowden, Issues Statement
WikiLeaks Statement On Edward Snowden’s Exit From Hong Kong
Sunday June 23, 13:00
Mr Edward Snowden, the American whistleblower who exposed evidence of a global surveillance regime conducted by US and UK intelligence agencies, has left Hong Kong legally. He is bound for a democratic nation via a safe route for the purposes of asylum, and is being escorted by diplomats and legal advisors from WikiLeaks.
Mr Snowden requested that WikiLeaks use its legal expertise and experience to secure his safety. Once Mr Snowden arrives at his final destination his request will be formally processed.
Former Spanish Judge Mr Baltasar Garzon, legal director of Wikileaks and lawyer for Julian Assange has made the following statement:
"The WikiLeaks legal team and I are interested in preserving Mr Snowden’s rights and protecting him as a person. What is being done to Mr Snowden and to Mr Julian Assange - for making or facilitating disclosures in the public interest - is an assault against the people"

I want to believe Snowden is real, and if he indeed is, putting his trust in Wikileaks was a bad, bad move. He'd be better off working with Greenwald and any other trustworthy reporters he can find directly. I am quite sure that not only does Wikileaks continue to be compromised, but that communications are carefully monitored as well.
Put bluntly, it's been established that Wikileaks is as much of a black hole for leaked information as it is an exposer of truth. I have no doubt most of the WL staff believe in the cause, but I equally have no doubt one or more Daniel Domscheit-Berg's lay in wait of orders from various spy agencies; if Snowden is real, it's a trap, and if he's not, they'll work to make it look like he is. So the Wikileaks choice is disappointing.

Sure, but the problem is that humans have this idea that they are the governments. If "we" were the government then "we" wouldn't be starting wars in countries most of "we" can't find on the map. Governments are imaginery friends, and ridiculous notions that silly people have to give other people the power and ability to organize our lives for us. In laymans speak, a government is a fabricated entity that some people that tend to be delusional take a bit too seriously and end up fucking up the lives of the rest of the populace for grand notions that aren't even real.
Gold is real, bullets are real, death is real, and so is life. Governments are not real. They are figments of imaginations.
I use the word human, because it's unpolite for me to make the scientific distinction between myself and those that believe in the idea of government.

This ties up with other reports that "diplomats from the country where Snowden has sought asylum will be meeting him at Moscow airport" to assist him getting his connection flight...
