Asia Crumbling; China's Worst 2 Days In Almost 4 Years, Nikkei 450 Pts Off Session Highs

Tyler Durden's picture

Things are getting a little out of hand in Asia once again. China's Shanghai Composite is down 3.7% at the break for its biggest 2-day drop in almost 4 years (-8.9%) and Japan's Nikkei 225, after staging a solid come-back has collapsed 450 points from its highs of the early session smashing below the US day-session lows. Chinese repo is very noisy but 7-day is around 160bps higher for now at 9.2% (having traded at 17% at one point - suggesting 'specific' injections have been made). The carry unwinds continue as USDJPY and Nikkei track each other tick for tick. S&P futures are not going unpunished (-4.5 from the close and -12 from after-hours highs). What's Chinese for 'Dallas Fed's Fisher' or Japanese for 'Hilsenrath'?

Nikkei 225 collapsed below US day-session lows after staging a modest recovery early in the session...

China's worst 2 days in almost 4 years

China, Japan, USA, Europe, UK, Australia.....markets are all cavitating on thin economic outlook right now. Sentiment is turning and many are admitting they were fooling themselves, so watch vol.

Use your Gold wisely people; you may never need to sell it if the system contracts yet holds together, and you'll be able to leverage upon it soon enough (late 2014 maybe).

In the RE boom, people used their homes as ATMs to buy other assets and especially toys using equity. If you do it right, you'll be able to use your Gold as an ATM (equity balance) to leverage against and get-up on RE while everyone else is in Fire Sale mode....Buy The Fucking Dip on that leverage, don't waste the upside move in Gold by sitting on it like a dick, make the fucker work hard! You’ll have all the time in the world to sell your yellow as you’ve shifted your wealth from metal to brick.

You don't need to lie about not having Gold, you need only declare how much you ‘may have’. Only declare amounts which offer you security on the leverage you wish to be exposed to, no more. If you're borrowing against Gold, banks will love you and bend over backwards for you. If you hoard, banks will vilify you.

I just hope everything holds as-is for the next 8 weeks.

Sounds too complicated.
The problems haven't changed since the 90's: corruption, malinvestment, fraud, lack of freedom.
Plus they started too late. And now there's too much debt, pollution, poor ROI on 00's of billions of "investments", rats jumping the ship and population aging.
Not that dissimilar from the USSA and EUSSR, minus the pollution.

Once as a young lad, a friend and I once built a "go-cart" out of Big-Wheel parts and wood. I was the test pilot for the first run down a one-third of a mile steeply sloped street into a parking lot. At max speed the small cap holding the front-right wheel onto the axle came off followed promptly by the wheel. I compensated by leaning back and to the left (sounds familiar), but that caused a twist in the frame that turned the cart toward the left. So I turned the steering wheel/thingy to the right to compensate. About then the back-left wheel came off, but yet again a little back and forth weight shifting kept things upright and still "flying" down that hill. But then I heard it again, the "ding, ding, ding" of the cap coming off of the back-right axle and making a beeline for the right curb. Decision time: Lean left and drag the back-left hub and take my chances with the left curb or let the back-right wheel come off and take my chances with the right curb.

The wheels have come off and it's decision time

You triggered a memory. I was a young'un, and was visiting cousins in Aberdeen, SD. Borrowed a bike, went for a ride, and while gaining speed down a hilly street, the chain came off, rendering the brake useless. less than a half-block down was a cross street with a stop sign, and the cross traffic had none. I turned into a mailbox, thinking that it posed less disastrous potential.

In retrospect, it was the correct choice. I fully expect, however, that TPTB will continue to barrel straight ahead.

When I was five I took my brother's Radio Flyer out for a test ride down a fairly non-steep hill.  I woke up after hitting the curb all scraped up, with my diaphragm all spasming,  and trying to cry like a little kid.  The important thing was that the wagon did not break, because I would have also gotten an ass whipping from my 11 year old brother, and maybe even my father.

I have repeated a lot of really fucked up mistakes in my life.  At least I learned that lesson the first time around.

I still have a big ole' scar by my right elbow to remind me.

Funny, however this not the only way that we can fight back. They know this and that was what "Sandy Hoax" (the school) and the resulting and on going gun-control campaign IS all about.

And as funny as doing what they suggest is, one has to remember that all of this is not driven by the BS du jour of
"stopping terrorists," but by contracts and politics (money and power).

Put another way: they are pissing away billions of stolen loot to benefit themselves via corruption, etc., and to keep watch on us, their natural enemies. All that data will be put to "good" use in their coming "camp and trench" round-up.

As the stock markets around the world implode, American government leaders from Obama down can only talk about an NSA analyst who revealed the U.S. government is run by criminal eavesdroppers and liars working with presidential immunity.  If today is any indication, tomorrow, 25 June, could see a Level 1 circuit breaker triggered at start of trading 9:30 AM.  Then we will hear those words Ben Bernanke hates: "BEAR RAID."  Meanwhile, Snowden is probably on a charter jet flying to Cuba, the itinerary kept secret to prevent interception by the US Air Force in international waters.  What other goodies does Snowden have on his flash drives? Apparently, information about criminal NSA activity, which can only mean involvement in drug stealing or other major non-pardonable crimes.  Unpardonable by former Presidents.

What's the point?  Actually there was no point.  Just wishful thinking on the boy's part that pretty much almost got his nuts torn off.

More PKO (Price Keeping Operations) in Japan?

If the Nikkei 225 crashes, then consumer confidence crashes, and if that happens then Abenomics is over before it has really begun.

Considering that the Japanese authorities are already 'all-in' in the JGB market, there seems very little reason why they shouldn't also try to prop up the equity markets. It's all or nothing at this point.
