Edward Snowden Issues Statement From Moscow, Slams Obama

Tyler Durden's picture

Via Wikileaks:

Statement from Edward Snowden in Moscow

One week ago I left Hong Kong after it became clear that my freedom and safety were under threat for revealing the truth. My continued liberty has been owed to the efforts of friends new and old, family, and others who I have never met and probably never will. I trusted them with my life and they returned that trust with a faith in me for which I will always be thankful.

On Thursday, President Obama declared before the world that he would not permit any diplomatic "wheeling and dealing" over my case. Yet now it is being reported that after promising not to do so, the President ordered his Vice President to pressure the leaders of nations from which I have requested protection to deny my asylum petitions.

This kind of deception from a world leader is not justice, and neither is the extralegal penalty of exile. These are the old, bad tools of political aggression. Their purpose is to frighten, not me, but those who would come after me.

For decades the United States of America have been one of the strongest defenders of the human right to seek asylum. Sadly, this right, laid out and voted for by the U.S. in Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is now being rejected by the current government of my country. The Obama administration has now adopted the strategy of using citizenship as a weapon. Although I am convicted of nothing, it has unilaterally revoked my passport, leaving me a stateless person. Without any judicial order, the administration now seeks to stop me exercising a basic right. A right that belongs to everybody. The right to seek asylum.

In the end the Obama administration is not afraid of whistleblowers like me, Bradley Manning or Thomas Drake. We are stateless, imprisoned, or powerless. No, the Obama administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised — and it should be.

I am unbowed in my convictions and impressed at the efforts taken by so many.

Edward Joseph Snowden

The constitution and the bill of rights are no longer in effect.   Nobody is playing by those rules anymore.  The only document we as americans are therefore bound to is the Declaration of Independence, and this is from the current government.

Make no mistake, the patriot act and subsequent acts, the current state of surveillance, dollar degradation, and tyranical rule has eliminated all of the constituion, and bill of rights, we have no rights, look at the GB/AG election, look at NSA, look at the WARs, look at your rights to privacy and freedom.

The declaration of independence is now what we adhere to, they cannot destroy that because it is an ideal.

Teach your children that document above all else.

If you're going to play the legalist game, prepare to get called out when you're wrong, because details matter. The Declaration was never a legally binding document in any sense in any capacity anywhere at anytime whatsoever. It did not, does not, and never will have any legal status or authority in American law courts, common, civil, or criminal.

Specifically it does not confer any rights or grant any protections or afford any benefits to anyone.

If you play the legalist game, you are going to lose. They have a highly trained, loyal, dedicated, intelligent army of lawyers, judges, and professors to rubber-stamp their every whim. Like the heretics who challenged Church doctrines and expected to prevail, you fundamentally misunderstand the nature, purpose, and intent of the institutions in question. Law exists to promote the illusion of its rule, of rationality and fairness in justice, and the existence of justice in the first place. It is an elaborate fantasy constructed for the emotional security of the masses. In all its superficial complexity, it obscures the fact that it is a trivial confidence game which cannot even hope to comprehend or address social, political, or economic reality. It is a fiction born of deceit and malice, nothing but a simulacrum, not of justice, but of raw state power, its purpose being to convince the public that the opposite is true, that there is a "rule of law" and not merely "rule by force" (using the proxy of law).

"The declaration of independence is now what we adhere to, they cannot destroy that because it is an ideal."

Now you are speaking my language. Quite right.

Torture
Rendition
Some more torture
Death, but not before more heavy doses of torture

If nothing else, this has certainly served to draw attention away from the recent and more serious embarrassment surrounding the arrest of the Al Qaeda "Syrian rebels" picked up in Turkey who had sarin gas believed to have been provided by the US. The UN investigation concluded that it was meant to be used against Syrian civilian populations and was going to be blamed on Assad in an attempt to engender support for the current adventure they are all hot for. This opens to interpretation the question of who used it before. Obama isn't saying much about the crossing of red lines these days. Stupid to get caught. How incompetant are they to put their trust in that ignorant bunch rather than using their own people to deliver the load into the town? Now we are exposed as the ones who crossed our own "red line." We have murdered innocents in public and we are exposed for the war criminals we are. After they finish laughing, if the world doesn't eventually band together to take us down like a rabid dog I will be very surprised.

I think that is why Edward Snowden rings true with many of us!

He has stood up and let himself be counted amongst those who have had enough.

And he has pledged his sacred honor and his fortunes so to speak...

He has completely neutralized the Obummer Admin without firing a single shot, his has been the cannon of truth!

Many like me would like to cling to the notion we can bring about revolution in the hearts and minds of our sphere of influence and triumph at the ballot box or statehouse or Whitehouse.

That may be a trivial notion but one to cling too nonetheless.

Are we prepared to go all the way, that is, to arms, time will tell but let's exhaust the peaceful means through deliberation.

I will not be intimidated by the threat of "them" watching either, fear is not real, just imagined.

Peacefully is always preferable, I think most are doing a good job of not jumping into the ponzi of "animal spirits" as presented...make them hold and sell out to each other going down...for example.

The ballot box (no matter what conspiracy nuts say) is the best place once minds are informed as to whats at stake for all.

But we reserve the right...always.

Democracy is, two wolves and a lamb voting for what they'll have for lunch. A republic is, a well armed lamb contesting the vote ;-)

No one. Prove the relevant planes even existed, and were in the air in US airspace on that day. I'd love to see the evidence. Not that it matters. Aircraft of those kind cannot physically do what you claim they did. Do you wish to put forth an alternative version of fluid and aero dynamics, gravity, and solid body physics?

Even auto-pilot systems cannot defy physics.

Isn't there a videotape of airplanes flying into the towers? Or is that fake too? I guess the phone calls that the passengers made from those planes describing what was happening before they died were also fake. Just like the pilots and passengers on those fake planes. It's all fake. No planes existed. No pilots, flight crews or passengers died.

Why can't you people just grow the fuck up? I have no problem witht he fact the the government through incompetence and malice allowed that shit to happen and then tried to cover their dumb asses up; but when you nut jobs try to run around and claim that there weren't any airplanes that hit the towers you just look silly.

I know I'm going to get down-arrowed for this, but here goes: If we could prove that 9/11 was an inside job, would it change anything about the future of the American people and their relationship with they, the rogue and criminal US government?

No! They would just spin and bury the story and run more DWTS reruns while rounding up anyone discussing it.

It would be good to know, but it is just more stink from the shit that is they, the rogue and criminal US government.

We need to stay focused on their provable and obvious crimes of theft, murder and treason. The truth about 9/11 will come out when they're gone and the files are available to us.

It's now about preparing and prorities, so focus on eliminating the shit not the stink.

I agree, but my point is that time, effort and resources are better spent waking the sheeple up to what is being done to them not on what may or may not have happened on 9/11. Plus the guillotine operates better on clear evidence of theft, treason and murder, like "making war against them," violating their oaths and the Constitution.

It is hard enough getting people to understand the criminality of their actions against us, the American people, and the Constitution. Getting them to understand the finer points of flight paths, thermite, etc. is next to impossible.

Additionally, 9/11 only encompasses some of the criminals and their crimes that are related to that event. Holding them accountable to their crimes against us, the American people, and the Constitution encompasses all of them and all of their crimes.

i.e. I don't know what, say, Pelosi or Boehner's criminal connection are, if any, to 9/11, but I have them dead to rights on treason and oath violations.

The Four Rs
Rejection: Quit paying, quit obeying.
Revolution: Be prepared.

There's a 50' billboard going up in Time Square this summer and will be there through the anniversary of 9/11.

It focuses on the 3rd tower, WTC7 coming down that day.  The group is 'ReThink911.org', I believe.

Otto what frustrates the hell out of me is....and I am guilty of it as much as anyone....is that we may all just sit here and call BS on everything until we are sitting in fema camps because we never once took a chance and believed in something. As I was saying below....I have never seen empirical evidence of Jesus, but I have family that can't imagine the thought that he does not exist. They need to believe he exists.

Maybe I need to believe this guy exists. That is probably it. Sorry if it came out towards you. Many feel the way you do.

What concerns me is that they may have created Snowden as a way of letting the world in on their little secret that they have eyes on everyone and we are at an inflection point, and our fear or disbelief lets a great opportunity escape.

More importantly, if you have actual proof that Simon eats chilean seabass off a hookers ass, please send it. I am impressionable and my loyalties could be changed if there is truth in that.

Maybe Edward Snowden is using this image but in the world of Intelligence.  He's either pulling a couple of the dudes/dudettes....(Merkel) in a certain direction or he has found a sharp pair of scissors to cut the string.

Mon, 07/01/2013 - 20:52 | 3712112 steelhead23
steelhead23's picture

In this instance, what exactly does "justice" mean?  From my perspective, this man has alerted his fellow citizens that quiety, secretly, the administration of this government is violating everyone's 4th Amendment rights.  We are routinely being searched.  We have submitted to the metal detector, the full body scanner, and the grope.  It would appear that the majority, those who seek to stifle Snowden, want him delivered to the Lort High Inquisitor to atone for his sins.  I seek a higher form of justice in which we all gather around Edward to celebrate the Snowden Monument, a new concrete monolith in Utah, a building that was intended to be named Big Brother, but has since been filled floor to ceiling with concrete.

To emphasize just how grotesque this surveillance state is, the other day I heard a report that some staffers at NSA were having a howling good time listening to phone sex calls between active duty soldiers and their lady-friends back home.  I like to imagine one of those soldiers, well-versed in the use of an M-16 finding one of those NSA voyuers.  That my friends, would be justice.
