Live Webcast From Pre-Coup Egypt

Tyler Durden's picture

With threats and promises beong thrown around between the Muslim Brotherhood (everyone rejects the military statements) and the Military (who just arrested 15 Muslim Brotherhood officials), it seems the moment of truth is drawing closer. The sheer size and scale of the live feed images below is stunning...

Via Stratfor,

A member of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party legal committee said "everyone" rejected the Egyptian military's statement setting a 48-hour deadline for the government to settle the current political standoff, Al Jazeera reported July 1. Meanwhile, former Egyptian presidential candidate Amr Moussa said the army's statement reflected the Egyptian people's will.

The Muslim Brotherhood is scheduled to hold a news conference at 7:30 p.m. local time in Cairo.

CIA in (mind)control.  How many women will be gang raped on their streets tonight?

Mon, 07/01/2013 - 13:01 | 3710520 pods

Rape is one of the favorite tactics of the US propaganda arm.

Whenever they want us to commit troops or money somewhere the rape angle always comes to the front.

Must be it makes men react in a visceral way that they forego critical thinking.

But you ALWAYS hear about this.

From the reporter lady, to Saddam's "rape rooms" to one I just saw someone espousing on ZH today.

"Gang Rape" is the pinnacle of this line of propaganda.

When you hear rape, think the CIA first and foremost.

Well, the plan is for mass surveillance and ceaseless war in the name of central banking and Greater Israel.

To be honest, I don't follow US media.

Not saying it didn't happen, but it seems whenever someone needs a bombing, we have to dehumanize them.  And goin after the women is an easy way.

They overcooked it when they said Irag was removing little premature babies from incubators way back when.
They are much more refined now.

When you get a large group of men together anything is possible, but past experience tells me to watch out for it.

I will be you 100 bucks that Hannity will be all over this.  He is famous for that.

Not that I will listen, but from years ago that is all he ever focuses on.

Oh, here is another "coincidence"

http://www.albawaba.com/business/egypt-fuel-subsidies-496349

Restructuring energy subsidies is a major step if Egypt wants to reach an agreement on a $4.8 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund

Egypt has begun implementing the first phase of a project to distribute petrol from depots to gas stations using smart cards as part of a plan to restructure the energy subsidies which use up around one fifth of the country's budget, the Middle East News Agency reported.

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation has started electronic linking between “Mastard” depot and several gas stations in Cairo and Giza.

Restructuring energy subsidies is a major step if Egypt wants to reach an agreement on a $4.8 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

My oh my oh my . . . so the IMF is going to start imposing reduced oil consumption (that's what removing a subsidy does) on the brown people to be sure scarce oil flows to the less brown people.

And they'll do it with worthless paper.

No more so than Saudi Arabian subsidies.

Egypt could do something different.  Different than KSA could.

They could increase fees for Suez Canal traverse.  I suspect the IMF would not like this.

They just did in January effective May....

http://www.marsecreview.com/2013/02/suez-canal-authority-to-increase-transit-fees/

It is the second fees hike in a year, as the SCA raised transit fees by 3% on all carriers last March.

DECISION TO RAISE FEE MET WITH MIXED RESPONSE

Fakhreddine Awadallah, a professor of economics at Ain Shams University said the decision to raise transit fees came at the right time, “especially in view of the decline in foreign currency sources due to the drop in tourism sector revenues and import/export activity”.

Awadallah put the Suez Canal revenues at nearly $5 billion on average.

Junk a report from trade journal whose business is to inform the shipping community about things such as transit fees for the Canal....

Could it be that it does not fit the preconcieved notions of what forces are really driving the Egyptian nation into failed statehood?

Then again, it could just be the members of my personal fan club that junk anything I write because it makes them feel better. Now that is what I call a pretty pathetic raison d'etre....

On the positive side, Islamic countries need to learn a VERY important lesson: politics and religion MUST be separated and religion consigned simply to an individual's personal choice.

That works. Political Islam doesn't, as Morsi The Maggot is discovering.

But Islam *is* the political/administrative side of the Muslim religion and, in many ways, above it.

You may be a non-Muslim in a Islamic State (not an easy life) as well as being a Muslim and give the finger to Islam (just not publicly or you get death).

They were and still are willing to tolerate a small population of Dhinmis (Christians being an accepted group as traditional 'people of the book') under Islamic law as long as they meet the requirements and pay the Jizya. It is basically the backdoor provision of Zakat one of the pillars of Islam for non-muslims in terms for protection by and from the state itself. Problem is you can blame the West and their 'fairness and equality' agenda has basically forced an end to Jizya and Dhimmi status. Whether it was a case of pathological altruism or a marxist yes means no inverted agenda I don't know and don't really care either way they should have just minded their own fucking business and not stirred up the hornets nest. If they left it alone you wouldn't have so many damn religious problems in Islamic States that practice Sharia Law since it allows for groups to not have to convert to Islam to live in a nonsecular Islamic State and provides them legal protection at the same time.

With that said I am not pro-Islamic law, I am just trying to explain something since most people are not familiar with the intricacies of Islam and Islamic law. This is one of those cock fights we should just stay the fuck out of and let Muslims sort it out among themselves if they want Shariah Law or secular states.
