The Coup Is Complete: Egypt Military Tells Mursi He Is No Longer President - Tahrir Celebrates - Live Feed

Tyler Durden's picture

Well that was quick

Some headlines from the speech:

  • SEESI: MILITARY TRIED TO BROKER RECONCILIATION FOR MONTHS
  • SEESI SAYS PRESIDENCY REJECTED OVERTURES
  • SEESI: MURSI SPEECH YESTERDAY DIDN'T MEET PEOPLE'S DEMANDS
  • SEESI SAYS EARLY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS TO BE HELD
  • EGYPT'S CONSTITUTION TO BE SUSPENDED UNDER PLAN, SEESI SAYS
  • SEESI: MILITARY AGREED ON ROADMAP THAT WON'T EXCLUDE ANYBODY
  • SEESI SAYS GOVERNMENT OF TECHNOCRATS TO BE FORMED

Mursi is unhappy:

  • MURSI URGES CITIZENS TO REJECT COUP: SKYNEWS CITING STATEMENT
  • EGYPT'S MURSI SAYS MILITARY MEASURES REPRESENT 'FULL COUP'

Which however is irrelevant, as Mursi is about to disappear, only to reappear perhaps in the transit zone of the Moscow airport

From the WSJ:

Egypt’s military announced it is ousting Islamist president President Mohammed Morsi, suspending the constitution and calling for early elections—a move the presidential palace quickly branded a “complete military coup.” Egypt will be ruled temporarily by the president of the Supreme Constitutional Court, the head of Egypt’s military, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, said in an address on state television Wednesday evening in Egypt. Mr. Morsi rejected the declaration that he was out of office and called on Egyptians to avoid bloodshed and honor the constitution.

Of course, how the Muslim Brotherhood will accept their overthrow remains unclear but after the initial shock expect "reprisals"...

The new interim head of Egypt will be revealed tomorrow:

  • Head of Egypt constitutional court to be sworn in as interim head of state on Thursday

He will most likely be succeeded by Mohamed ElBaradei.

While earlier the State Department spokesperson was careful not to take sides, it seems - given Cantor's recent comments of the US long-standing support of the Egyptian military - that they have come out in support of the new framework; for fear, we suspect, of the growing anti-American sentiment we first exposed here.

*U.S. ORDERS HOME NON-ESSENTIAL DIPLOMATS IN EGYPT: AP

Reuters is reporting that four are dead in clashes between Morsi supporters and security forces in Alexandria - as we noted here, it seems the military's standby role has shifted gears.

*STATE DEPT TELLS U.S. CITIZENS IN EGYPT TO LEAVE COUNTRY

Live feeds from Cairo:

Fireworks, Lasers, and screams of joy (for now)...

mursi"s installment as far as i know represented the moneyed class cowtowing of the reciprical relationship they had with the egyptian government as it represented their needs. could get all bolshevik on them with the military becoming the arm of the people. which i imagine is a convient banner call.

apologies..posted on the wrong thread..here it is again..

another classic case of the generational conflict...the protesters dont have any policies...i suspect that 100 iq over there in democratic terms counts for about a 50 in the west..however, the protesters are sure that a religion based in the stone age is guaranteed to make sure the men have very little and the women nothing...only the leadership gets the money...sound familiar?...after a fourth JD it sounds very similar to the social media generation and old process oriented, tick boxing corporatists, economists, and failed mobocracies in the west..

who gets to keep the 1.5 billion a year of US aid money for the least two years of freshly minted dollars? i bet pittsburgh could spend that money in just as corrupt a manner..what makes egyptians so special?

with the NSA "revelations" (to the uncynics anyway) the US is going out of its way to alienate any country it might trade with by spying on price and volume setting meetings of its trade partners..aided and abetted by the british...mentality is win/lose..winners have bigger guns, better bunga bunga parties and can print money..that's the national champion bank brotherhood..

china is going to catch on quick to the "rigging the market" or "insider trading" method of settling trade agreements (why is it illegal to insider trade the stock market but not trade agreements and contracts?)...step forward some country that can guarantee no listening/monitoring/blackmailed forum..probably downtown west bank or bombed out kabul crater or totally EMP filled nuclear accident site like fukushima..

So Egypt has fallen to the NWO and that which comes to replace it will be much worse. I will pray for these poor souls as they embark on their worst nightmare. A special vigilance is needed to preserve the momentum in these situations so that they are not highjacked by the globalists.

Hopefully we can learn a lesson from the inspirational turnover however and apply the same passion to politics in the formerly united States. When a governement ceases to obey its own laws opting instead for a long train of abuses against its own citizens, you essentially have anarchy when only the underclass obeys the law and the ruling class feeds off of the working class.

This isnt freedom. This is NOT what the Founders had in mind. There is no sane reason to celebrate Independence Day that I am aware of. The tyranny that we threw off has been replaced by one much worse, much more efficient and diabolical.

If only the US military would act in a similar fashion and free us from the tyranny of Obama and Congress. A military coup in which the entire cabinet, VP and President were killed along with all the members of Congress would be greeted as a national day of liberation in the US.

Walk like an Egyptian.

The military only intervened and promised all sections would be respected after Morsi failed to compromise, as his O'bomba urges endless war in the Middle East, and Syria now.

It is quite humbling that Egyptians would like any American, but perhaps not. After all, they are an old civilisation that understands the difference between people and politics. Good people can be wronged by bad politics.

Morsi smirks even at the time of his arrest, believing that he will be rich for whatever he does, like O'bomba, Hitlary, Bush, Bliar, Brown and the main screamer Mandelson, Rotchild tools.

Western politicians should be barred from visting the Middle East.

The O'bomba regime is embarrassed that its islamists failed, and Egyptians got protection from a military who said all elements should be represented: muslims christians, secularists ... not just the islamists. This after the biggest street protests in world history.

Millions of Egyptians protested on the streets against Morsi and O'bomba. For months, the military asked Morsi to compromise. He didn't. Neither did O'bomba.

Walk like an Egyptian. Protest.

The main point of watching Egypt take action against an evil regime is simple- we can do the same. We are tired of the spying, the lying, the fraud, and violations to our Constitutional Republic.

From barry O'soetero to every agency director (the real government operating) treason is the new norm. Oath breaking is vogue, defending, protecting, upholding the Constitution is now a crime. Anyone in leadership that thinks about abiding by the rule of law is considered a "terrorist". Napster DHS queen wants you under surveillance by simply returning from active duty. Loving the Nation as a Patriot puts you on a list. Despicable!

The fraud of barry's usurpation is about to explode- it will implode the DC corruption as we know it. Sheriffs, whistle blowers, truth tellers UNITE ! NOW is the time.

Happy Independence Day...for those who defend the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and rejoice at the fall of Morsi islamists, O'bomba and Bush betrayers, the old feudalists.

Egypt for Egyptians. America for Americans. We are friends, the people of the world, although we are much used and abused by globalists, and other old feudalists masquerading as democrats or republicans...and New  Labour, Conservative subjects of the Crown.

Now if they can do what the Egyptian people really want, we won't have to hear Israel's incessant whiny threats ever again.

The entire US government (AIPAC) must be up in arms over this, they just had to co-opt a revolution in Egypt last year for Israel's benefit and it didn't stick!

Goodbye Israel, if it isn't this time it's not far off. What's coming couldn't happen to a more deserving country.
