With Morsi Ultimatum Ticking Down, Egyptian Army Take Control Of State TV Building - Live Feed From Cairo
With just a few short hours to go until the military-coup-deadline, the situation is rapidly moving from bad to worse in Egypt.
Following Reuters reporting that the Muslim Brotherhood's refusal to meet with army officials - "We do not go to invitations (meetings) with anyone. We have a president and that is it," Sky News Arabiya reports that the Egyptian army now completely controls the State TV building.

False dilemma. The issue is that you're ignoring the facts... The facts are that millions of people are sick of things and demanding change... The consent of the governed is always necessary to rule them. Ergo, regardless of whether the man was freely elected, the basis of his right to rule (consent) appears to have been pulled. While you're focusing on the military handling the exchange, I think there are a few important aspects that you're overlooking, e.g. the fact that the same result would ensue even if the general populace was required to rise up and that in many states, the military is the only force strong enough to effectuate the exchange.
Essentially all you're doing is making the case for permanent leadership positions... this does not exist in any democratic system (which you're arguing Egypt is). The people are always free to decide who is to lead them. The fact that the military is choosing to side with the winner (ahead of time) is of little consequence. Whether or not is is a coup proper will only be told by time. Should the military decide to not honor its promises, then it will have to deal with another uprising.

In this sense, you might say that the ballot box is only a very particular type of voting... and that it doesn't denote how one really feels when push comes to shove. Call it whatever you want, my earlier point remains... I'd be nice if you'd try to address it.
PS, political change is always done on the margins... a majority of people are perfectly content to watch grass grow... it's the active parts of each side that effectuate change. Needless to say, a "majority" is a virtually impossible standard anywhere... Does the U.S. have democratic elections despite our leaders being elected merely with a plurality?
Further, all you're doing is espousing the "tyranny of the majority" aspects of democracy... You might think of tahrir square as a different kind of voting booth. Consent of the governed may be withdrawn without a majority. Governance isn't a process made simply for the largest group. While the Egyptian military is just another puppet of the U.S., only time will tell whether this collective bargaining yields any positive results... I hope that it will.
