Courtesy of the BBC's Jeremy Bowen, and 911 operator we can see that the tanks in Cairo are now deployed. Surely this will add at least another 10 points to the Stalingrad and Propaganda 500 on anywhere between 2 and 3 contracts in today's hilarious zero volume revolutionary melt up.

A Reuters journalist saw troops move into place close to the Rabaa Adaweya mosque area, where tens of thousands of supporters of Mursi's Muslim Brotherhood are rallied to support the democratically elected president and what they call constitutional legitimacy.
The army said in an official statement that it was security the area and denied what it said were reports that it was attacking Mursi's supporters, saying: "The Egyptian army belongs to all Egyptians."

Watching the live feed from Tahiri Square (link below), I occasionally see an INTESELY bright green light coming from multiple places in the crowd and blinding the camera. Is this some kind of anti-personnel laser/lidar? I remember seeing similar things in the riots in Brazil a few weeks ago. Can anyone offer conjecture?? As a scientist knowledgeable about the danger of lasers to the human eye, I am concerned.

The idea was, and is, to fuel a giant Sunni-Shia civil war from Iraq, to Syria and across the entire Middle East. To destroy Arab nations not allied with Israel/NATO/Washington. If Israel is in the Middle East and all the Arab and Persian states are in civil war or smashed into conflicting mini states based on religion and ethnicity, that leaves Israel as sole Super Power in the Middle East and able to destroy any mini state it pleases or go kill anyone anywhere they want across the region.
Syria is the prime example of this policy. The NATO/Israel/USA army of Sunni Jihadists have been recruited, trained, armed and paid for by them. The goal is to tear Syria into ethnic mini states, with no power and no economies, all under the thumb of Israel's massive American funded military. Iraq went first, then Libya, now Syria, Lebanon is next, then Iran. All that stands in the way of total conquest of the Middle East is Russia and China. Only they have the power to save Syria and Iran from NATO conquest. Will they step up and defend those two states? If Russia abandons Syria, then Iran will be attacked very quickly. The US/NATO/Israel will flatten Iran and kill hundreds of thousands and they will call it freedom fighting and liberation. While the cut was on a single cable, it came at an unfortunate time as a few other major cables were in “maintenance mode” and that has resulted in problems for service providers across the region. Our sources in the telecom community confirmed that two other cables — Europe India Gateway (EIG) and India-Middle East-Western Europe (IMEWE) — were in ‘maintenance’ mode when the SWM4 got cut. The result is downstream congestion on networks that are going to India and around the Indian Ocean. UAE’s Etisalat reported that the internet speeds were down by as much as 60 percent in some locations.

The military has always been in charge, remember Sadat and Mubarak were Air Force officers. The military will allow civilian rule as long as the interests of the military are secure. This is clearly not the case now, hence, they stepped in. Morsi was doomed by not only his reactionary views on a Islamic republic but also by the irreversible decline of egyptian oil output and the growing costs of subsidising fuel and bread for the masses, roughly 30-35% of the Egyptian budget...

They were on Mubarak's side up until and for most of the Spring Uprising, not the Egyptian peoples' side. They only changed their tune when Mubarak's resignation was inevitable. When protesters showed up during the 16-month military rule (prior to Morsi's election), jackboots met necks once again.
General Al-Sisi's proclamation yesterday:
"...It is an honour for us to die rather than that anyone should terrorise or threaten the Egyptian people," it said. "We swear to God, we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool..."

SCAF was always using soldiers in civilian dress during the 2011 uprising to stir things up. Now there's rape gangs wandering around Tahir square. You have to wonder who is worse for Egypt: the Muslim Brotherhood or the SCAF psychopaths? The Muslim Brotherhood have no clue about marketing and PR, you're just suppose to obey them. The Egyptian military learned from their last episode of unpopularity: censorship and propaganda WORK.
