The Tanks Have Been Deployed

Tyler Durden's picture

Courtesy of the BBC's Jeremy Bowen, and 911 operator we can see that the tanks in Cairo are now deployed. Surely this will add at least another 10 points to the Stalingrad and Propaganda 500 on anywhere between 2 and 3 contracts in today's hilarious zero volume revolutionary melt up.

And another from Quentin Sommerville:

From Reuters:

The Egyptian army erected barbed wire and barriers around a barracks where embattled President Mohamed Mursi was working and deployed armored vehicles and troops to prevent his supporters marching from a nearby rally to his palace, witnesses said.

A Reuters journalist saw troops move into place close to the Rabaa Adaweya mosque area, where tens of thousands of supporters of Mursi's Muslim Brotherhood are rallied to support the democratically elected president and what they call constitutional legitimacy.

The army said in an official statement that it was security the area and denied what it said were reports that it was attacking Mursi's supporters, saying: "The Egyptian army belongs to all Egyptians."

America has a corporate military. We are already run by corporate interests. America is fascist. It would take a group of American generals who are not vested into the corporate scheme with a real heart for this country to overthrow our government and reestablish a free republic. The people alone cannot ever accomplish this.

All that needs to happen is for the oil to run out or get too expensive.

The next day they are all out of jobs.  Don't have to fire a single shot or burn anything down.  Just have to wait.  Once it's done, the bunch of them can apologise then get on with doing somethign useful with their lives versus the current situation which is produce nothing of value, act without direction and play an angle with no win.

I'm a capitalist and an opportunist.  What we have here isn't even a corporate thing.  It's just worthless corruption, even for the people running it.  All that effort lying and killing.  No time for themselves to spend it on more meaningful things.  They all wasted their lives for nothing and nothing to show for it all except alot of hard feelings.

Once the oil problem surfaces later this year along with a couple of other spiked punch bowls that have nothing to do with rebellions, the TPTB will tune in and understand what really needs to be done.  Which is for them to step out of the way and go do something else.

Damn idiot 'journalists' have no knowledge of the everyday world - everything is generalized bullshit. Anything that is on treads is a tank. Anything that is a gun is an AK. I doubt they can order breakfast and know the difference between toast, bagel, muffin, or a biscuit. That is highly specialized knowledge. Their head would explode form all that detail.

The USA military are about pensions, MIC, weapons systems, MOAR war, cheap booze at the PX, getting a spying gig at Al-CIA-da or NSA so they can lie to Congress like Clapper or Alexander.   Cowards.

Now is a good time to visit Cairo. The pyramids and museums are not overrun by mass tourists. Egypt is always worth the trip. It's simply fascinating because of its ancient history, long before Jews, Muslims and Christians distorted the world view and culture. We're in this collective mind trap and mental anguish ever since the so called great religions of so called Abraham got established. Maybe Egypt can lead the way to back to our pre judeo-christian-muslim spiritual "roots". Maybe just maybe life and death will have real value again when mankind evolves past this notion of a 1 God, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, Martyr, Warrior and Creator. It's awfully boring and painfully dishonest to say the least.

Speculating on the big picture: the populace did not like the de-secularization of their lives nor the collapsing economy, nor the support of the Syrian "rebels" or mercs, or terrorists.  If the Egyption military is "owned" by the US, their role here will be to defuse the uprising without changing policy ie. throw Morsi under the bus.  The risk is that the brotherhood gets radical and doesn't play along.  It's entirely possible that the brotherhood will just put on a show, force "compromise" (that still leaves Morsi under the bus) and it all goes on.  The brotherhood after all supports the overthrow of Assad and so would be on the same page with the US and the military in that regard.  We'll see.

Measure Of Civic Burden

The Measure of Civic Burden is inspired by

the extra we pay for insurance to cover the

extra cost of cops denying people's rights,

intimidation, profiling, etc.

It's a simple notion of course, but I've

used it (and I won't spam) in parallel with

paying more to get less, along the lines of

market control, gatekeeping, risk filtering

(privatize the profits, socialize the cost,)

and pay to play in multiple sectors, including

health care.

I think it's a picture of slavery, charted

The tank in the first picture is an M60/A3 - other wise known is some circles as a Patton tank. Notice the drive cog at the rear of the tank just aft of the road wheels. They were bought from US Army surplus stocks in the 1980s and then more bought after end of the Cold War.

So, both the APCs (M113) and the tank in the picture are American!
