These skirmishes have no political significance anymore.  They will be drowned out by earnings anxiety next week.

mindless zombies filled with aimless hate and destruction.

Oh sure, like Eygpt is something to worry about - LOOK AT THE DOW!! Up 136 into close!! We need MOAR turmoil, riots and anti-democrasy upheavel. Ben must agree - He's in charge of sending the message of his choice to the bottomline of the markets!! What were we thinking???

By the "end of world" dip!!!!

well that escalated pretty quickly. And no presence of the military to separate the opposing views. Total chaos.

yeah, so the military takes over and all hell breaks out.   Ironic.

This has been weird also because Morsi was supposedly "democratically elected" yet then gets "undemocratically unelected."   Why not wait until the next election?  Coup or no coup, maybe violence was unavoidable.

Morsi was going to enter the conflict in Syria at the request of Obama, the military and the people didn't want that so he had to go for the greater good. I think anyways...

Frank, part of the problem is that even though he was "deomcratically elected"...he was procedding to break up the deomcractic systems and install a new strict religious rule.

A bit like Hitler was voted in to power.......and as soon as he was in, he made sure he could never be voted out again. The Army did the right hting in removing Obamas little shitheel.

that part hasn't happened yet. the Dow is green however and there doesn't appear to be any selling into the close here. that usually only means one thing: great confidence in something happening that isn't market related.

Military coups are not democracy. Mursi was the elected leader, and it doesn't matter how many people were on the streets. The coup was an utter and absolute failure of democracy in Egypt. Now they must try again, if it doesn't descent into a civil war. As much as I dislike the MB and their supporters, they have a right to be really fucking angry.

Mubarak was a dictator in power for three decades. Mursi was voted into power by the people and was in office for one year. I hope you see the difference now.

It is you who must cut the bullshit. This is an extremely dangerous act by the military, it sets a precedent for military control over the democratic process(by which point it ceases to be democratic) by using the people as an excuse.

Not only that, as a result of their actions the country is on the verge of serious civil strife and possibly even civil war.

Damn, you statists are fuckin' thick. Voting sanctions nothing, as it is based upon an immoral ideology that claims I have the right to choose your ruler, whether you want one or not.

Besides, there is NO difference between the two sides as it pertains to "the people." It is nothing but gang warfare, and it matters NOT which gang wins, as that merely sets the stage for the next fight.

If you really care about the world, then please take a minute to understand how an ethical society would function.

Normally I would agree with you. But the first democraticly elected leader of Egypt was full bore making sure there would never be a second democratically elected leader. Another poster Slim says it better than me so I cut and pasted his post below:
